Went to bed last night with no working toilets and a backed-up tub. This morning the husband managed to overflow one of the toilets in his attempt to "fix" the problem. We scheduled an appointment for him to come out and asses my issue then we scheduled an appointment for him to come and do the work. He called me the day before my appointment to inform me his current job was running over and he wouldn't be able to make my appointment which was on a Friday, and even though they are closed on Saturday he still scheduled me an appointment for the inconvenience it may have caused me. I have an older house made in the 1920's . My main was completely backed up. Seemed like easy fix so I called my good friend who is a plumber. He ran his 100 foot snake but could not clear the line . He suspected large roots or a broken main pipe. He recommended I call a plumbing service that has jetting abilities. After calling several plumbers I decided on Canfield Plumbing. John explained the harben jetting process and recommended I view his video on Yelp. He guaranteed his work for 1 year, and also would clean the line free of charge in 6 months. Also included in the service was a camera inspection of the line. Their fee was $450. I scheduled the appointment. They arrived on time were able to quickly clear the blocked line in a few minutes. They also cleared many roots throughout the main pipe. John showed me on his monitor the roots growing in the pipe and then blasted them or cleared them with the jetter. They were determined to clear all roots in the line. They did a great job. My line has been cleared for a week now. Over all I think if you shop around their pricing and guarantee are hard to beat. It was definitely a plus that they offer the included camera service. John and Mike were also both a pleasure to deal with they were honest and upfront. We hired Canfield's based on all the positive reviews on Yelp. They came out right away and fixed a leaky toilet. They told us "no charge" and wanted a positive Yelp review and to be "our plumbers for life". I thought it was a smart way to keep new customers. We had our other toilet clog up and a leaky shower. They came out right away and "hand oggered" the toilet and said it was "unknown cause" and fixed. They flushed the toilet 2 times and it appeared to work. This cost $75. Then they said to replace the handles in the shower it would be $275. (We said no thanks to that and bought as $30 kit from Lowe's and did it ourselves in one night a week later) The day after they came the toilet started acting up again. We called them two days later and left a message. We had a family emergency come up and we're very distracted the next few days. When a week passed and I realized they still hadn't called back we called and gain gain. No answer. 10 days later they return our call and come to look into it. They did the same thing "hand ogger" and said if they have to come back again that they will have to charge since it's outside of the 7 - day window of first service. I told him we called them 2 days after they were here and he said "that's what your husband said". For anyone that wants proof... u have phone logs to confirm. They were very rude. They laughed and said it is probably "just the toilet" which may need to be replaced and to "chew our food better". How gross is that comment? Since they came the second time... the toilet still doesn't work, our shower now backs up and our kitchen sink. None of these were issues before they did work on the toilet. It seems they only shoved whatever clog there was deeper into the main line and now we have a huge problem. Luckily I found a trustworthy plumber based on personal references who is tackling this project. I would not recommend this company to anyone nor would I trust the reviews since they tried to buy our review with our first visit. Little did I realize what a nightmare they would be to work with. read more

Talk about a stellar company! I called yesterday about a clogged sewer line, and John was willing to come right away. He and Mike (as he called them later, Batman and Robin) were 5 stars all around - timeliness, service, care, and willingness to work with us to find an economic solution to our issue. After using Canfield Plumbing for my parents' house in July 2016, I decided to use them for my plumbing issue. I was only getting cold water from the shower and knew it was a cartridge issue. I attempted to remove the cartridge with no success. I contacted Mike Canfield and he came out and gave me a free estimate. The price was reasonable and I agreed to the repairs. It took him about an hour to remove and replace and everything is now working perfectly. Mike was extremely professional, courteous and friendly. We had a plumbing emergency at my mother's home, and called a local, 5-star plumber, who came to the property, and realized that the job was going to require far more machinery and manpower than he had, so he reached out to Canfield Plumbing. My first thought was that this was overkill, and that we were going to get fleeced for this "massive plumbing emergency". I was wrong. John and Mike showed up quickly. They professionally analyzed the situation, and suggested hydrojetting the main sewer line. John also said that if that didn't work, there would be no charge if we decided not to go ahead with his suggested course of action...that got my attention. The jetting didn't work, and a video-scoping indicated that the lines were completely root-clogged, and that there may have been a break in the line. At this point, John and Mike had earned my trust, so I told them to follow the course of action to repair the line. They worked on the line for a good part of the day, which included digging a 4 foot deep hole to repair the existing line, installing two-way clean outs, then re-jetting the line from the house to the back of the property. The whole time, they showed us what they were doing (both at ground level, and through a video scope), and provided us with a great warranty on the work. I am confident that the work done was necessary, and not overkill, and feel the price paid for this extensive work was reasonable and fair. John and Mike really made an effort, and did not use the "plumbing emergency" to gauge us on the price.
