Mike's Plumbing is now my go-to plumber. The short version is that my experience with Mike was great and vastly exceeded my expectations. In more detail, about a month ago it became apparent my old water heater was on its way out. It was leaking but, yesterday, the leak became pretty bad. I went to another site and reached out to several plumbers who served our area (Claremont) for quotes. Mike responded within a few minutes, gave me a REAL AND VERY REASONABLE QUOTE via email/text (without any "oh, I can send a technician out to take a look" spiel), asked for photos of the old and new unit, and then (when I accepted the quote) scheduled an appointment for between 10:00-11:00 this morning. He was at the house before 10:00 (he called first, of course), installed the new water heater up to code within an hour, hauled the old heater away, and DID NOT TRY TO UPSELL. Out sink stopped draining last night. Today, we saw that things hadn't improved. Mike was available on a Sunday when everyone else seemed closed. He arrived promptly and immediately found the issue. The pipes were full of grease (eww). I've told my kids many times not to pour it in the drains, but you know kids-they never listen. Mike offered two solutions. We went with the quickest one and replaced the gunk-filled pipes. He left me a price for the better option: hydrojetting the line. Mike was friendly and funny. He texted at 8:30 AM, he arrived within an hour, and completed the work by 9:30 while I was on a Zoom work call!
