Bathroom sink was backing up, gave Jerrys a call because 1. I have used them before and 2. I had a coupon for $45 drain clear. My appointment was between 12 and 2 PM. Service technician Cody showed up at about 1 o'clock. He, checked the drain and the pipes and made recommendations. Since it was a bathroom sink, he felt he could get the clog out, but was concerned because some of the pipes are older. Cody let me know everything that could possibly happen and that he would try everything he could to clear the drain. Did not want time try to oversell or charge me extra. He was able to clear the drain at no extra charge. Also, he offered to go under the house just to check all the plumbing and be sure that there were no leaks. This was done at no expense. I needed to replace the corroded galvanized pipes and cast iron sewer in my house so I contacted three plumbers. Out of the three Jerry was the most responsive and gave me the best estimate. The written estimate clearly described the work that was to be done, the materials to be used and warranty for the parts and labor. Jerry's team replaced the pipes with copper and the sewer drains with ABS plastic. They also installed a cleanout, new angle stops and shut off valves, insulated the hot water line, patched up the holes in the drywall and re-routed the gas line for the dryer. The good: They showed up on time with masks. The bad: I was quoted $8500 for a broken Drain pipe line at my home that turns out was not broken and just clogged. After using a manual 25ft drain snake I quickly found out that the spaghetti my wife put down the kitchen drain was going to need an expert to tackle the clog so I decided to call Jerry's rooting service that I found through Yelp. Anthony showed up at my house early and was professional, Had a mask on and got straight to work. (My P-trap under the Kitchen sink was broken in the process of putting the snake down the drain, but I'll take the fault for that for not removing it prior to them showing up.) 5-10 mins after using the drain snake Anthony told me the bad news of letting me know that the pipe may be broken, but to confirm he will call his manager that has a video camera made to confirm the pipe was broken. John, the manager, showed up no later than 10 mins to perform the sewer camera inspection to only confirm that the pipe was broken and needed to be replaced. It's an old home, I expected this, but it sure does suck when things like this happen. He gave me 2 quotes: $4500 to repair the line (but I would have had to excavate inside my kitchen that was just remodeled or $8500 to redirect the line. John wanted to start the process right away, but I decided to take a minute and weigh my options. He did call me a few hours later dropping the price which was nice of John, but something didn't seem I decided to rent a 100 ft snake from Home Depot since I had nothing to lose and decided to tackle the job again with a friend....... The snake got through and everything has been working great for more than 2 weeks now. The original quote and estimate process was great. Everything was explained clearly and it seemed like things would go smoothly. We needed to relocate all of our plumbing from underground copper pipes to pex tubes in the attic due to a leak underground so this is a fairly big/expensive job. The price wasn't particularly cheap but was pretty reasonable especially considering the level of service we were "expecting." The work took about a day and a half longer than quoted which i'm fine with but based on what I observed it definitely could have been completed by the original target date. There was a lot of "downtime" and a constant need to buy additional materials? Seemed odd. My biggest gripe was that it was impossible to get the original estimator to show up and walk me through what's going on with the work. Basically I never saw him again after the initial visit where he gave us the quote. Communication was difficult with the two people that were actually on site doing the work and often at times I was confused what was being done and by when. Overall the work was mediocre/satisfactory. Some of the pex tubing wasn't strapped down as well as it could be and i would hear them knocking in the walls when we turn on the water now. Also, most of the tubing was strapped down in the attic but some sections weren't and I can hear the knocking when water runs sometimes. Not a huge deal but a bit of an annoyance. TLDR Started off really strong but ended limp. read more

After spending $6,000 on a new line from our kitchen, they put a warranty for 25 years. Now, after a year, they are charging me $300 for cleaning out the same line. What a rip-off! STAY AWAY! These guys helped us with a sewer blockage that was giving us an ongoing problem. They ended up clearing the blockage and inspected our sewer line with a camera and discovered a broken pipe (causing the ongoing issue). They had us up and running in 1 day after digging up and replacing the section of broken pipe. They responded quickly and I was able to get 2 guys to look over my drainage problem, but after trying to snake the pipes nothing happened. They tried selling hydrojetting services for an extra $400. I declined and paid them, I ended up calling a different company he came to snake the drain and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The 2 guys from here were very nice, whether they knew what there were doing I can't say. I don't know if they knew how to fix it but just wanted to sell higher services or if they actually didn't know what to do. read more

Update 1/27/21: Following the events of what occurred below, that same afternoon after I had written this review, Jerry's Rooter immediately sent out another plumber to complete the job. I was very glad to hear this and was pleasantly surprised at how soon the new plumber would arrive. He went ahead and completed the job and told me that the invoice would be later discussed as to take into consideration what had all occurred. I appreciated the explanation and from there I was in contact with the receptionist about payment. Jerry's Rooter had offered to charge absolutely nothing for the job (which was an unexpected gesture on their part), but knowing small businesses in this economic climate, I counter-offered and said I would pay what needed to be paid. After a length of time, I was contacted again and the owner had said 50% off the bill would be good if I agreed to it - so I agreed. After paying the bill, I requested for a receipt so that the transaction could be finalized and so that I would have a paper trail following all of this. Unfortunately, after sending a follow-up email requesting for the receipt, four days had passed without any reply. I became concerned because the charge had already gone through, so I followed up with another email just this evening, and almost immediately after that email I received an email with my receipt. Long story short: I really do appreciate the effort Jerry's Rooter made in trying to mend things with the customer, but I honestly think a lot of things could have been handled better so this sort of thing wouldn't happen to begin with. Even along the way, the amount of times I had to follow up with Jerry's Rooter to get things resolved was well beyond what one might consider appropriate. ---------- Original Review: I will update this review once the job is completed. But so far things have been subpar. Yesterday around lunch time, we discovered we had a leaking pipe in our garage. We got a few recommendations from friends but chose to go with Jerry's Rooter because we had seen their ads earlier in the month and read their reviews here on Yelp. Called them and we were told the plumber would arrive between 3PM -5PM. Anthony showed up around 4:45PM and got straight to work. We were happy with the quickness in attending our leaking pipe and the thorough explanation of what needed to be done. Anthony ended up having to cut out two portions of dry wall in our garage ceiling to access the pipes. Long story short, he put a temporary patch on the leak and said he would return the next day (which is today as I'm writing this) at around 9AM to finish the work of replacing the pipes altogether. Due to this, I took today off of work so that I could be available and present when the plumber arrived. 9AM rolled around and then 10AM rolled around and Anthony had not come yet. We didn't receive any phone calls or anything. We waited a little longer until finally I gave Jerry's Rooter a call at 10:39AM to find out what was going on. The receptionist who answered said that she was going to contact Anthony to find out where he was and would inform me. After that, I waited until 11:58AM and still no return call. At that point I called Jerry's Rooter again just to find out that Anthony had told the receptionist that he had a family emergency and wasn't going to come in. At this point, I can understand if an emergency comes up. But shouldn't a company who you're paying hundreds of dollars if not thousands, at the very least, contact you to inform you of the schedule change instead of you having to call in twice to find out? And would it not be good business practice to send a replacement plumber instead of telling the customer to just wait for another day when the plumber is available? Right now, we have 2 holes in our garage ceiling, and an expectation that it would be worked on at 9AM today. It is now 12:20PM and no word on whether anyone is coming at all to fix the issue. read more

Shady tactics....my water heater was not working (no hot water) called Jerry's rooter service because I wanted to support a local business. They arrived same day. Perfect. Once here ...the scam was on..."you're going to need this piece...but if this piece doesn't work then you're going to need this piece...and if that doesn't work...you will need a new water heater" Hmmm...I have a relatively young heater 3-5yrs old. So they ordered the small part and came the next day to install it. As I suspected..they installed it but then tell me that the heater is still not working and I will now need a new heater for $2,200...he kindly dropped the price to $2,000...then to $1,800...then to $1,500 ...hmmm...I see what's happening here. No thanks! Called a REAL HONEST PLUMBER who was not local but was willing to make the drive. Upon review he knew right away what they had intended to do and how. They (Jerry's rooter) deliberately installed the piece incorrectly so that it wouldn't work so they could force the issue of the up sale for a new heater. Called this place because my grandmas house had her sewer backing up. Being that you hear horror stories About plumbers I was very on guard. Jerry was the technician that came out and snake the line. Upon sneaking he pulled back a ton of roots and ran the camera in the pipe to show us(ran camera at no additional cost). He gave her options to fix the issue with no pressure and was very informative. All said and done the whole process they showed us as they performed work. Nobody ever took the time to say anything other than "it's fixed". All of the guys were super friendly and explained the situation exactly so I could understand it. I ended up having my sewer line replaced via trenchless pipe bursting. Bad Plumber Review I always try to support local business, not just Mom and Pop restaurants. I am very sad to report really bad service from a Plumber. Jerry's Rooter Service in San Dimas came to fix or replace a 18 inch PVC pipe main feeding my house. I had just had an accident and broken my shoulder and three ribs, so I could not dig up and replace this myself. They charged me $700 to replace the 18 inch long PVC pipe. In the process he broke my main sprinkler line and both in-line valves. Because he had to keep leaving for "Emergency calls" the fix and restoration of water took two and half days. My sprinklers still do not work and though I requested a different plumber come out, that plumber spent five minutes looking at the problem and stated "One of the girls form the office will call you". It's been a week, they never called and he never returned. It pains me to give a bad review for a local business owner, but I cannot recommend Jerry's Rooter Service for any plumbing needs. read more
