In addition, their lack of maintenance is atrocious and their handyman just seems to be some foreign Asian man who really doesn't know how to perform repairs properly and will cause damage. They will try to make you responsible for their handyman's damage. They are quick to threaten with eviction notice if you are a week late with rent and won't just send a letter, they will send an angry little person to knock on your door. The concrete ceiling of the parking garage literally fell apart due to flooding. Chunks of material were strewn all over the floor. We received a text to move our car immediately at 4:30 AM. I called property manager who wouldn't return my call. I spoke to the management office who took my "maintenance request" and refused to give me any estimate or follow up. The way a man treats other people can tell a lot about his character. Having been a small business owner right here in this office building myself, I understand that running a business can be stressful and tough at times. I sometimes had to sleep in the office because I had nowhere else to stay, but I was more than happy to do so, though that might have violated the office building policy, so I moved into an apartment. My stay at the office building enabled me to meet other tenants and I found most of them to be pleasant, everyday ordinary people just going about their business. There was only one person who was loud, obnoxious, and rude: Tony! I had never met anyone like him before, and at first I was empathetic, as I know it's not easy to run a business because of the pressure, especially when dealing with shortcomings. Then I realized he might be an impossible case, and I had to accept the fact that he might not be able to change. You don't go around yelling and shouting at people, especially grown men and women in the office building! His anger is out of control, and he needs mental health support as soon as possible. Recently, I heard that his company is being asked to relocate and will leave the premises, and I'm not surprised at all because any normal person wouldn't tolerate his behavior. These non-emergency issues are just that, non-emergencies that can be handled within a week or so. but just because they can issue a 3-day cure or quite, doesn't mean they should. On my way to work, I learned that we had a water leak in the garage. 9am Called Candet. I said that I had a plumbing emergency and that I needed a plumber, or at least a number for a plumber. I was told that only my property's agent can assist, that she was out of the office, and it was best to email her. 5pm No response. I called back asking for information as to how to turn off the water for the entire side of my complex. I was told to call the emergency number and that someone would call me back. 5:05pm I called the emergency number and stated that I had a plumbing emergency. No one returned my call nor my email. Don't even deserve 1 star. Ridiculous roach bedbug termite and spider problem in multiple units as well as outside. Instead of tent the property to eliminate evrythng. My roommate and I left the place as good as we moved in. according to them we had to pay 500 dollars to "repaint" the whole building which was left almost immaculate. Not to mention the trash collectors refused to pick up the bin last week. Thanks to 100 degree weather the whole area smells horrible! Now trash collectors can't pick up the bins if they are overfilled or if they have furniture in it so the property manager needs to take care of logistics. This property company is horrible. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! First off, they take zero responsibilitiy for asshole tentants. There was a lady who had 7 ferral cats living on our propoerty that pissed and shit on my door and all over the place. My dog got into and got sick which cost me $300 at the vet. The rental company did nothing the entire year I complained. I even mentioned the cats the day I looked at the place and they played dumb when I asked. This woman took over the property as if she owned it telling everyone what to do and threatening them if they complained about her cats, the same cats that she told the property company they weren't hers. It was her world and we all lived in it. She parked in the middle of the driveway and left her car there so no one could park. The rental company did nothing. Lastly, when I moved out, I left the place cleaner than I found it. I repainted the kitchen and bathroom, I did all the touch up. The place was spic and fucking span. They took $250 out of my deposit for touch up pain in the bedroom. I'm sorry, it doesn't cost $250 to touch up paint in a bedroom that I already touched up. When I asked the lady about it she just giggled and smiled and had no answer. I asked her, "If you were going to paint your house, would you pay someone $250 to touch up paint?" She said, no. hmmmm She said she would get back to me. Never heard from her. She showed me a hand written invoice that she said the handyman gave her. I'll just say english is not his first language, and the note was perfectly written. I called the handyman and he has no recollection of being there. Then I asked the property manager to send me an invoice and it was totally different that what the other lady showed me all offical with completetly different prices. I will attach them here. They are cheap, they don't do any upkeep on their properties, and their customer service is deplorable. We recently moved out (thank the Lord) and they swindled us out of $140 of our deposit. The apartment was in great condition and even our manager said the place was clean. I called them to dispute it and they were not apologetic, friendly, or willing to help me in any way. This was after living in that dump for 3 years. Not only are they cheap and unreliable, but their apartments have cockroaches and rats. They also do not care about the well-being of their tenants and allow people to move in and stay who do not live up to basic standards of communal living, which is what forced us to make the decision to move out in the end. After renting this place for three years, after cleaning it myself before moving in, it was hard to get people to fit things. I ended up buying things for the apartment out of my own pocket because when they do replace things they are really cheap! I recently moved out and the apartment was spotless! They had the nerve to charge me a $120 cleaning fee and a $60 fee to replace a blind that was REALY old when I rented the apartment! I called them three times and emailed them to dispute the charges. This company is a complete disgrace and, to be honest, should be shutdown and have a complete overhaul of management. First of all: ...IT HAS VIOLATED A MAJOR CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS.....it's state law that if you have more than 8 units in your building, you need an onsite property manager: we don't have one and haven't had one since 2007. Ok, so I'm back to post a follow up review. I've been living in my apartment in Pasadena, Ca for almost 6 months now. So far my family and I are very content with our spot, we haven't had any problems with it so far until about 2 days ago when our bathtub wouldn't drain. Today, my husband decided to call to report the problem and they literally sent someone within 45 minutes to an hour. The problem was fixed within minutes; it was due to all the hair I have, I guess I have to buy something so my hair doesn't clog the tub anymore. Whoops! You go to their office on Garfiled (Alhambra) and the lady at the front desk is HORRIBLE. She can talk to you without looking at you. No ones is ever around (i.e., site managers) in the office and you cannot talk to them, they may be hiding behind the front desk offices.
