    To refer to this company as one-star is likely an insult to the other one-star companies on Yelp! We have lived in a unit managed by these slum lords for about ten months. Eight of which, we've been dealing with a large-scale rodent infestation. I know this might seem like hyperbole, but we have had north of 65 mice CAUGHT in the unit. The first mouse we found was on June 25 2020. The last mouse was today. In the middle we've had mice, almost daily, we've had droppings throughout our house. They have sent two different pest control companies and their own people over 25 times and the problem has not even abated. To refer to them as Slum Lords is probably accurate, though I hesitate to use the word "Lord" as it implies some sort of dominion over a situation which is the last thing anyone, including the mice would believe. But that's not the worst part: throughout this escapade, Management, for all their remarkable ineptitude has attacked us personally and professionally. Their first response to our infestation was to accuse us of hiding a tenant in the unit (we weren't) and forcing us to sign a new lease, increasing our rent (during the RSO and in the middle of an infestation) and taking more deposits. Since then, they've accused us of lying--several times--, accused us of having ulterior motives, accused us leaving the back door open (we don't, and the mice are in the kitchen), accused me of being immature, and at one point, (and bear in mind that this is seven months into a rodent infestation), told me that I must be "off my meds." Oh, and the best was when they CCd their lawyer in an e-mail and explicitly asked us to keep him on communication, and when we did, they began yelling at us to take him off communication, including blatantly lying and telling us it was illegal to keep him on. The accusations and pettiness from this inept company are arguably worse than the mice and feces, although they obviously don't present a health risk, they have knocked us down and we are utterly terrified to contact them about maintenance requests, including more mice, to which their newest strategy is literally ignoring us. Furthermore, the sad part is that they have cost the owners thousands of dollars in pest control fees, contracting, and legal fees, all while not addressing the simple problem of a rodent infestation. I think it would be difficult, even given an incentive to make this situation any worse. It should also be mentioned that the company offers a free Starbucks gift certificate to their tenants who leave a positive Yelp! review. While the pictures and story should speak for themselves, please be aware that the five-star reviews on this website are bought. I realize that this company has a history of coming onto this website and attacking their negative reviewers, which is completely consistent with their character that we've experienced, and I realize that as you read this, you must be thinking that there's two sides to every story, which is why I invite you to contact me and I will be happy to provide you with a detailed timeline of correspondence and over 50 pictures of mice, droppings, and property damage caused during this infestation. We have nothing to hide and I think anyone, a prospective tenant or a prospective owner looking to contract Maximum would be appalled by their accusations, Trumpian lies, ineptitude, and the way they've handled this health/habitability issue since day one. When I have had any questions or needed clarification it was easy for me to contact the main office by phone. I appreciate that they have fully vetted subcontractors that come and work at the property and apartments. It is apparent that they take pride in the excellent service that they provide.     I would not hire this company to manage any property whatsoever. I was a tenant in one of the…read morebuildings that they managed. During the time they were managing this property they would never come to check on the property or provide proper maintenance. If we had an issue, pest control or water leaks in the wall it would take them days weeks or months to come fix the issue. As a property managers they are supposed to offer you heat or air when your AC breaks down they never offered it. I had to tell them to offer this it and as a tenant that's my right to be provide with heating or cooling when the units break down. Last summer the units here had a pest control issue, Riegel asked us to sign a release of responsibility to let a stranger come into our apartment. I was not shocked that they were not going to come while they sent pest control to enter our apartment and no one would be home. the while no one is home. I never understood how they can still be in business and do these kind of things what kind of property management company are they? there are a series of things I could complain about but I think I'll just end this review here. When I finally let them go I hired Neena and her team, letting them take over the mess. Right from the get go I felt the difference. Honesty, communication, reliability and hands on approach are just a few of the qualities Neena at Designation properties has to offer. From Ben, Neena, Olivia and the rest of the team each person I've dealt with listen to the requests made and immediately act upon it to ensure tenants are comfortable and secure within their living quarters. I've had experiences with other management companies that won't care to follow up with requests or issues but rather blame individuals or make them live with the inconvenience and just collect their monthly rent.
