I had a few broken storage-bay latches on my Discovery. I called on a Saturday and they could get me in on Thursday (the timing was fine with me). So, they knew what parts I needed. I take the rig in and they talked me into an inspection package (fine). I pick the rig up on Friday and they say "you have several storage-bay latches but we don't have the parts". That was the entire reason I brought the rig in. Now I have to duct tape the bays for our trip. I order the parts on Amazon, get them in two days and fix it myself, once I got to my destination. I made the most obviouse miistake-I bought from Camping World in Kaysville. Pressure sales, as well as arogant attitude's. I did trade in my trailer with a down paymets. They charge you for everything that is usuallly covered by other RV sales when you buy a new unit, like the PDI of $2500. I lost half of my water on the way up because the campground did not have water to give us for RV/trailers. I knew this and the RV was full. When I got there two hours later I had 1/3 left in the fresh water tank. Oh by the way this is a joke, as when we first took it out we had water leaks coming from every water line that is locatated below the dresser area. This is a message I sent to Corporate which is a joke as well: 7/13/2024 I awakened to go seek help from guys on getting water into my rv as I brought 5 gallon jug for extra. They came over and we review the book, as they also had satellite so they could research, but did not find much info. The setting were put on to syphon. We discussed about the syphening the water to the tank as this was new to them. This is when my wife yelled that there is water coming from the wardrobe area. The guy who was helping me took off the panel was a full time RV'r. The clothes in the drawers were wet from the filter. All of the Pex nuts were loose, as well as the filter. He tightened them the best he could as the filter was just hanging on. He took 4 to 5 good turns to tighten it by hand. Need to relocate the filter. Several towels later to clean up the water, and this time we ran a hose to fill the tank using the city water method. Which we were not supposed to do as they are low in water up here. Ran the pump a few more times to make sure there was no leak present. Damage to the covering of the corner piece. So this is the operation service I paid over $2500 for a RV to not function as described. This is supposed to give the buyer a piece of mind, really! Nothing but a mess. The first two days of our planned vacation was a waist, with the fridge and cleanup. Not happy at all, as I forsee a trade in the very near future. Very costly mistake on my behalf, as I have clothes hanging outside and inside the shower drying. The syphening method does not work. I am done here. This is a brand new 2024 Jayco RV, that they were supposley did a PDI. This means they check everything, and all of the lines. This is a lie. Never again and I sure will not promote them, but just the opposite. The Regional Customer Service Manager for issues when buying an RV or a trailer is a Joke. The only thing they do is forward your email to the General Manager at the RV dealership, and then they call you. Once you sign the dotted line they have you, so do yourself a favor and don't go to Camping World specifically Kaysville. I should of gone to Toelle as I heard they are better, but its too late for that now. read more

This location and salesman Jori Stewart sold me a camper trailer that they swore I could tow with my vehicle. I went to pick it up and I didn't have close to the capabilities to tow this camper. I told them I wanted to rescind the loan since I could not tow this trailer and was told my the GM Austin Thornton that the best they could do was trade it in. He offered me trade in value of $28k and they sold it to me for $60,555.66 I am facing homelessness with a 7 year old and two dogs. I told them I did not know anything about RV's I was just trying to make sure we had a roof over our heads. Now they want me to pay $31k for not disclosing that I needed a tow package to tow this trailer. The trailer requires a 10,000 lb ball. Lexus has a safety feature that only allows a 2" ball max. Camping World Jori Stewart told me that he could "make it take the 10,000 lb ball" I told him that was NOT part of the deal and that I refuse to tear up my car. read more

Once again, my experience with Camping World has been nothing but disappointing. I recently had the house battery replaced under warranty in my Sprinter van and specifically asked the service advisor--twice--to check if the battery was charging properly by the alternator. Despite my request, this was not done, and when I picked up the van, the battery still wasn't charging by the alternator. When I called to schedule a follow-up appointment to resolve the issue, I was told they couldn't fit me in for a month because they were fully booked. This seemed odd, as I've always been able to get service appointments quickly. Sensing something wasn't right, I contacted the service manager, Joel Turner, to ask for the real reason. Joel bluntly told me they didn't want to work on my van anymore because I'm "never satisfied" and had left a less-than-positive survey after my last visit. He even suggested I take my van to a different Camping World location for future service. I explained that my previous feedback was justified, considering I discovered broken glass in the shower and cassette toilet area after they replaced a window. His response? "But we didn't know it was there!" This was shocking to hear, as the glass was clearly from the window they had removed that must have shattered in the process. The fact that they didn't clean it up shows a lack of care in their service. Having worked my entire career in the service industry, I understand the value of customer feedback in improving operations. It's unfortunate that Camping World seems to use it as an excuse to retaliate against customers who provide honest critiques. Joel didn't deny my comments were accurate--because they were. After several negative experiences at three different Camping World locations, I will not be returning for any services or purchases, nor would I recommend this company to anyone. While they project an image of prioritizing customer service, my experiences tell a very different story. There's a lot of work needed to meet the level of service they claim to provide, but I suspect they are already well aware of that. On a brighter note, I was able to diagnose the issue with my van in just a few minutes, order the necessary part for next-day delivery, and complete the repair in half an hour. Had Camping World taken just a few minutes to do the same, the outcome--and my opinion--could have been entirely different. But clearly, that wasn't worth their time. read more

This was our first RV buying experience and it wasn't great. Our sales person was fantastic. Drove us around the lot, showed us the trailers in our price range, was very knowledgeable about the features and benefits. We settled on one trailer and I told him I'm not an "emotional" buyer and possibly wanted to look at a different floor plan on a different lot. I was 90% sold on the unit and even put down $1k deposit to hold it until the following day. I wanted a full quote for my financing reasons and wanted the "out the door" price. Again, I was not going to purchase that evening. Enter the finance guy. Straight from "Shady Deals Car Lot" this guy starts the strong-arm tactics to get me to buy the trailer that night. He quotes me the MSRP on the warranty (about $5k) but will knock of $2800 if I buy that night. All discussions stop. I remind him VERY bluntly that I am not buying that night and won't be strong armed. GM comes in, tells me this is a newer finance guy and apologizes. I cool down and still want to work the numbers. This takes some time since they "lost" the trailer they were selling me. Apparently the one they were selling me was a different VIN than the trailer I looked at and they had to find it on the lot. We never walked through it but it had a different model number (unsure how to feel about this.) We go back in for our quote. Now on to "Slick Willy" Finance Guy's office for a quote. He slides me a SALES CONTRACT and tells me this will hold the trailer. I explain it is a contract to purchase and he tries to tell me it isn't legally binding and is just a quote. I may be dumb, but I'm not THAT dumb. I lose it. I don't sign. I leave. I purchased a trailer the next day 20 miles away at another lot. read more

This location was amazing and helped us out in a crappy situation. Been to 3 other camping worlds and no one would / could fix a water leak behind the shower wall. They were conscience of what was happening and didn't stop until they had fixed it completely ...issues clear down to the siphon tube by the pump. Others stopped at the first little loose connection and set us on the way to have water coming out under the wall within an hour. Danny worked diligently and didn't just make a quick fix but wanted to be sure we were taken care of properly! I would certainly buy from them in the future since they take care of their customers in the right way. I also saw two others in for service (out of state and stopping by) and they took care of them as well! Deceptive practices! Be very careful of these guys. We came in to look at a trailer and trade our current one. We found one we liked and let the salesman know we are not purchasing today. We negotiated a better price for our trade as the first one was an insult knowing they would make a HUGE profit on us. They kept wanting us to agree to a payment "if we get you to this payment, do we have a deal?" Terms we talked about was $2,500 down and $10,000 for trade. No paperwork signed, no amortization schedule was provided and have not even applied for financing at this point. Gave them down payment in good faith and made agreements to sign the next week. Went home and did our own math (we are both in finance). Amortization showed us paying $50,000 for a $22,000 trailer. (This is why the push the payment part so hard, they can get the payment you want but if you don't know how loans work, you are looking at 15-20 years of payments to get that monthly payment point) After looking around we found the same model for much less at several different lots. Hubby popped back in to ask if we could negotiate more, showed them our "homework." Finance guy said we are only 2nd people to ever do the math own our own. They would not even consider negotiating at all and was told that all of those others are junk and not worth it. Hubby said then we don't have a deal. The finance guy then said, "thanks for the tip, normally we don't get tipped until after the fact. Meaning that they are keeping the $2,500 down payment. Remember, we signed no contract and said so. They produced a form that was used to negotiate the trade and payment and tried passing it off as our contract. We can not enter into a legally binding contract if we do not know the terms. You can not agree to terms that are unknown. This is basic contract law. Further, in the state of Utah, you must indicate in writing if a "Deposit" is refundable or not. These guys seem to operate as predators, hoping they can fool uneducated folks into getting "tipped" without doing any work. Why would we give $2,500 that is non refundable before we even knew if we were approved for financing? ***Rule R152-11 - Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act Section R152-11-10 - Deposits and Refunds Utah Admin. Code 152-11-10 Current through Bulletin 2024-20, October 15, 2024 Section R152-11-10 - Deposits and Refunds A. It shall be a deceptive act or practice in connection with a consumer transaction for a supplier to accept a deposit unless the following conditions are met: (1) The deposit obligates the supplier to refrain for a specified period of time from offering for sale to any other person the consumer commodities in relation to which the deposit has been made by the consumer if such consumer commodities are unique; provided that a supplier may continue to sell or offer to sell consumer commodities on which a deposit has been made if he has available sufficient consumer commodities to satisfy all consumers who have made deposits; (2) All deposits accepted by a supplier must be evidenced by dated receipts, provided to the consumer at the time of the transaction, stating the following information: (a) Description of the consumer commodity, (including model, model year, when appropriate, make, and color); (b) The cash selling price; (c) Allowance on the consumer commodity to be traded in, if any; (d) Time during which the option is binding; (e) Whether the deposit is refundable and under what conditions; and (f) Any additional cost such as delivery charge. Bought my Keystone Cougar 5th wheel here in Oct '22 and used it as our temporary domicile until our house was done being built. Started having issues almost immediately, heating, electrical, refrigerator to name a few. The good: Robert Mitchell was assigned as my service coordinator and did an amazing job to balance our situation and getting a multitude of warranty repairs done and in a timely manner. The bad: It's probably a combination of poor materials and craftsmanship from the manufacturer and the lack of customer service and pride in craftsmanship at the field level. I should not have to have 20+ issues fixed on a brand new 5th wheel in the first 6 months, I shouldn't have to waste my time getting answers and playing middle-man between CWs and their associates. (See also review on Meridian CW) During one of our scheduled multiple day repairs, the 5th wheel was not left outside for me to pick up. Mind you, this was on Easter, so naturally they're closed. After utilizing my resources, I was able to get the manager's email. He didn't even have the balls to call me and apologize for the snafu, but rather sent Rob to pull the trailer out for me (not his responsibility). Should have been the service manager. During another scheduled repair, the main door was replaced due to warping. The technicians installed screws too short on the strike plate causing one of the screws to fall out and not be able to shut the door and caused damage to the new door frame, the same day I picked it up. I'm still battling them to rectify the situation. Save yourself the headache, and take your business elsewhere. read more

When I picked it up a couple of weeks later I had the privilege of having Alyssa help me, (Joyce was on days off) though I was apprehensive of working with a new person, I was pleasantly surprised Alyssa stepped right in and didn't miss a step. Joyce has been a pleasure to work with each and every time I've taken my RV in for servicing. I wish I could say the same for the young man who brought my RV to me after being fixed. !!!! IF I COULD I WOULD RATE NEGATIVE 5 STARS !!!! I took my 2006 Coachman into these guys last year to have the main awning replaced since it was taken off by a strong wind while driving. They had my coach for 3 months. The new awning cost $9,600+ to replace by them. When I got it back, my power inverter was fried. It was working just fine when I dropped it off. They claimed to have nothing to do with it failing. It smelled like it completely melted all internals. I had to replace it on my own dime of 2k. Not only that, the wind sensor and retraction on the awning does not work. They didn't even hook the thing up properly. Their service manager Clint is the laziest, lying person in the business. Hard to believe he's still on their payroll. Don't waste your time or money here!!! There are honest, better businesses out there for your service needs.. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!! If I could give them zero stars I would. Before buying the trailer we told them that the screen to the outside patio was a dealbreaker for us as we have lots of dogs. They said that they would put in a 3 season door (3 season door to me is glass). We paid extra to include to go over everything to make sure it worked properly and was clean as it was a used RV. We received the trailer and things were not clean and still very dirty. We take it back in and they finally cleaned it. Our first time out it starts leaking from underneath and the water isn't running correctly. We unscrew the underside and it starts pouring out. Our fresh water tank, black tank were both leaking and whatever the red stuff is. The outside doors didn't shut right. We take it in to fix the tanks and get our 3 season door put in. We receive our trailer back and the 3 season door is not 3 season. It's a door with ONLY screens. Before it was one big screen. If the screen was a deal breaker before we bought the trailer, why would I pay thousands of dollars to put in another screen. I paid money for a glass 3 season door. Not only did I pay them thousands they made the person that sold me the RV pay over a thousand to cover the rest of it. They won't refund me any of the money and they won't take it out and put the old one back in. They said they would put plexiglass in half of it. One of their employees told us that they were expensive and should go somewhere else. The service department has no clue what they are doing. They call and make the appointment and when you go in to drop off the trailer they have no clue what your talking about or find the paperwork. When they are pulling out the trailer they take a chunk out of the trailer. So we have to take it back in to get it fixed after they get the new part. You take so much time taking the RV in that you can't even enjoy it. Talking to manger, AUSTIN does no good because he doesn't except responsibility for anything. As the manger there you would think you would try to make things right and he doesn't. He puts all blame on you as a customer. What happened to the customer being right or even trying to do the right thing. They overall SUCK. Don't buy from here. read more

Took my trailer there for a minor accident repair on Oct 18, 2024 - they left the trailer sitting outside in inclement weather unprotected for 4 months. We went up there in February and were told "they forgot " about the repairs. I looked at the damage and by that time water got into the walls and all the wood started to rot.i was told they dropped the ball because they were short-staffed and the insurance advisor quit. Nearly 6 months after we dropped off the trailer we went to pick it up - told Megan Melina the day prior we were coming (150 miles drive) and they didn't have the trailer ready. Once again "someone dropped the ball". Then there were issues with the bill and we had to go home empty-handed. Today we went to get the trailer - ANOTHER 150 mile drive and we got no I'm sorry or what can we do to make this right . Just here is the bill - they changed my insurance over $11,000 for free repairs that we were told at drop off were minor. After buying 4 trailers there and don't business with them for over 14 years we WILL AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE AVOIDING THE PLAQUE. NOPE... Really disappointing. From the Customer Service to the selection on the lot. We weren't really greeted. Mind you this was Labor Day Weekend. You would think they would be fully Staffed, Lot Full and READY TO SELL..!! We were pointed to the door that led to the outside lot....and that was it..!! The selection of what we wanted was non-existant. If they asked us, we could have saved time and gas.... As we left, it was then that a Saleman (who was sitting on his ass in a rocking chair), asked us if we needed help. My Wife looked at him and said, "nope..dont bother moving or getting up..we're on our way out.." No emotion was shown..not one single shit was given.. Avoid at all cost! I purchased my first RV here last week and Glenn Boutler was my sales rep. He delivered absolutely nothing that you would expect when purchasing a 50k RV. It took over 10 days to receive my brand new RV and when I arrived to pick it up on 6/17, Mel was my tech and he was actually awesome. While doing the familiarity walk through I noticed the RV hadn't been detailed at all. I spoke to Glenn and asked them to clean it and I was told on 6/17 it would be ready 6/20. Well, 6/20 came and went and Glenn had no clue what was going on. I called the afternoon of 6/20 and they hadn't even touched it. I received a call on 6/22 that it was cleaned and ready to go. Not even close. Someone sprayed some febreeze and called it a day. I took the RV and left as these guys clearly showed they do not care after they have your money. This place doesn't care. They do not provide a quality product and will not give you the service you deserve. Buy from anywhere else is my recommendation. read more

My brother and I bought a used Dutchman trailer from Tyler Hofheins a few months ago, we paid extra to have everything tested and were told that the trailer would be ready to use the day we receive it. We were not able to go camping right away and when we did the hot water didn't work, turns out that they shut off the valve under a cover that had safety screws. We bought the tool needed and got the valve turned on, when the water was turned on there was a significant pin hole in the copper pipe shooting water all over the inside on the water heater unit box. I sent Tyler a message about the problem and several pictures, he stated that his concern was that it had been several months since we bought it. I am sorry but seems to me that there should not have been a problem with the pipe in 4 months of owning the trailer. He said that he would need to speak with his manager and I have not heard back from Tyler since, be very careful buying anything used from Camping World in Kaysville, UT or from Tyler himself. If you choose to still do business with them after reading this then please, go over everything in your trailer the moment you receive it to verify the good operation of "everything". I hope that no one else has a similar experience as we have had and then stuck with the cost of repairs that should/could have been fixed at the Camping World shop for next to no loss to them. read more

BEWARE!! Went in to purchase a used Class A motorhome I found on their webpage. After looking it over I told them that I was already pre-approved with AFCU. They wanted me to go threw them for financing. When we went to make the deal, they tacked on an additional $2000 on top of sticker price that said it was for accessories, along with all the other fees. When asked why the "accessories" was not included into the advertised price, they said it was to prevent a high price to the consumer online, No joke! I then questioned for what accessories, they said it really wasn't for accessories but for the maintenance and inspection process that they put the RV through. If that wasn't bad enough, the finance guy came up to me and gave a blatant lie to my face that they would have to pull my credit again for some terrorist act prevention law. I had enough after that and after additional $8000.00 tacked on to the sticker price. I called my bank and asked about the extra credit pull that Camping world wanted to do, My credit union said it was a lie and that I was already approved for the full amount. They make more money on the RV's if they finance for you. They also said that they were going to add my military discounts and give me a couch replacement for a discounted price, then said they looked it up on amazon and will match it. Never saw the military discount either. Typical shysters' looking to undermined and gouge the consumer. An embarrassment establishment who have zero regards or respect for the community they operate in. read more

They got us right in and fixed the issue which was not their fault (nor ours) but since it was so new they took care of everything and we are now back on the road! NO IT IS NOT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER GETS CUT OFF MY MOTORHOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY NEVER CALLED ME TO TELL ME THIS HAPPENED. I called 4 days after it happened to see how things were going. They tell us that they are not responsible for this. So now what I thought was just going to be warranty work has cost me $4500.00 for a new catalytic converter. Oh just to be clear I have not got any of the warranty work done yet. (No parts to do that yet) Think twice before you take anything here. Here is Camping Worlds response to this problem. Experience initially started off pleasant with the sales department and ended up in the end dishonest from the finance depaetment. This place has professional bamboozlers. I should have read reviews before stepping in the door. The experiences others have posted above are accurate, because it happened to me "strong arm tactics mixed with dishonesty. Not to mention that every response from them starts off with "we are sorry you had that experience" but apperantely really don't care because the problem still exists to this day. I wish I would have trusted the reviews! I read Camping Worlds reviews and the negative ones were mainly targeting their repair shop. I hesitantly took my 5th wheel trailer to Camping World Kaysville after a traffic accident caused paint and awning damage. The bid process was quick but they did not include any labor or materials for re-painting. I had to point this out to the adjustor and they added it in. My trailer sat at Camping World for nearly five weeks and they finally told me the first round of repairs was complete and I could pick up (round one: paint, round two: awning replacement). I drove over to get my trailer and I was absolutely shocked. There it was sitting out in the parking lot ready for me to take it.. I pulled up and literally could not believe my eyes. Not one section of damage had been painted or fixed in any way. I walked in and grabbed the adjustor and she came out to confirm. The only thing more shocking than my trailer not being fixed was her response... "I have two painters, one is not very good and the other is very good. I'm sorry but I'll make sure the good one gets it this time". Weekend camping trip canceled. She promised we'd have it fully painted for the following weekend. Seven days later and the day I was supposed to pick up she called me at 7am asking if they could have a couple more hours.. as she put it "the paint needed more time to dry". I had a feeling she wasn't telling me the truth so I called the general manager and asked them to pull my trailer out front. I drove over and sure enough, my hunch was right. They had sanded and primered one 4' section rather than repainting the entire side (as they billed my insurance company for). They were going to use the two extra hours to paint my trailer, let it cure, and send it on its way camping. I demanded a 100% refund which was given and took my trailer somewhere else. I've never been involved in a transaction with a higher level of incompetence and dishonesty. Do your homework on Camping World repair before you make the same mistake I did. read more

M P Camping World has Super Shady Practices! I was researching the value of our camping trailer. I put in my info on a couple sites looking for retail price on our trailer so I could list it. Camper World called me asking to purchase or co-signed it for us. Something I had not considered. I talked to my husband and we realized we might take a small loss on it, but that would be worth the time it would take to list and talk to potential buyers. We agreed to co-sign our trailer with them under a 90 day contract, which they stated they were confident they could sell it. They listed it for 40k way over high MSRP value, which was 36k. Half way through they lowered it to 36k which was still to high. They did not price it it sell, I feel they priced it to keep it in inventory because they did not have a 2021 Forest River Hood Edition r-pod 202. Either way we were getting 26k regardless of what it sold for. I understand they need to make a profit, but let's keep it realistic. To my knowledge (looking online) they never did lower it beyond 36k. After the 90 days they said they would give us 17k, stating the summer was almost over and it would be harder to sell. At which point we said we would pick it up. Then to top it all off they lost our license plate (they did deliver our r-pod to us as we had no license plate and offered to reimburse us the cost of the plate).I understand that they needed to make profit, but felt this entire deal was extremely shady. No one ever contacted me unless I contacted them first. If we had not been under contract I would have picked it long before the 90 days and sold it on my own. I have learned my lesson. I nor any of my family members will deal with Camper World for any reason, (buy, trade or sell) ever again. read more

So I bought a new class a rv from Hillsboro oregon what a joke , it has been a nightmare out of a year it has been broke down for 9 months and now has a scheduled return date of 6 months I have tried everything to resolve this I even took it to the top with zero help or care that I will have paid thousands out of pocket for an rv that I can't even have for over a year, I tried to return it a week later my purchase price 170 thou they offered 75 thou so of course I said screw you and went else where and was offered 85 thou , these guys are crooks and and the ceo says if your not happy I'm not happy but really he doesn't care , I would love for the man to meet me face to face and let him know what a pos his company is . Ps the employees even say we got screwed , my attorneys are trying to get a class action against them so if you want in reach out to me . Stay away from camping world , oh and ps camping don't repley with "email our team so we can resolve this " bs as I have takin the matter to the vp Brian coone so I he don't care neither does your team as they answer to him . read more

The ppl that work at this place in Kaysville are absolutely worthless. "Cowboy" Kory Wamsley promised my dad everything that came with the rv he bought (a ladder to get to the bed above the drivers seat, DVD player, CD player) and of course didn't make good on his promises. My dad lives a long way away so they delivered his rv to him at home (for a fee) and there was a huge crack in the windshield that hadn't been there when he bought it at the dealership. In order to get the windshield taken care of my dad had to fight tooth and nail all the way up the corporate ladder. Finally the district manager Brock helped us. But fuck "cowboy" Kory and everyone that refused to help my dad (mostly the Kaysville crew). While it took a decent bit of time, Brock really came through and the windshield is finally fixed. It was such a nightmare I couldn't possibly ever recommend this place to ANYONE. read more

We brought in our fifth wheel for service. They were able to fix our stairs and door which other RV services were unable to do. The technician was very knowledgeable, did good work, and answered our questions. We did have to wait for additional parts which was unexpected, but they installed when we brought the fifth wheel back. They installed a fan which stopped working within a few months. The service manager agreed to cover the repair at another Camping World! As we travel one of the difficulties is having an RV Service company cover their work at another location.
