I have two of their products, I'm not a pro or even casual climber - I live in Florida so there's nothing to climb, but I've reached out twice over the year for a headlamp that I left in my car and the batteries exploded and their functional Noctilight case that started breaking - both products were purchased in 2018 and the headlamp was 100% my fault and I told them Other places would tell me that these things were my fault (they'd be right) or it was just wear and tear (reasonable) and they couldn't do anything or they'd offer me a 20% for something from the site, but not Petzl. Petzl completely repaired my headlamp and sent me a rechargeable battery pack (retails for about $30) and since they couldn't replace the headlamp case, they're sending me a completely new one, all at no cost. It's absolutely incredible and I've never bought anything from a company that goes this above and beyond for people. I wish they'd expand their product line to more outdoor gear and I'd buy everything from them, they're a company you want to tell everyone about and everywhere else should take notes. INCREDIBLE!

Get your hands on a copy of their catalog and learn how to be safe in the hills from the sixty some odd pages of instruction presented in a wordless format (like Ikea directions but so much more exciting). Or check it online. Minus one star for inconsistant quality for their headlamps.

I took my son here to get new golf shoes- never again. I'm standing at the golf counter and 9,…read more(maybe more) employees walked by and did everything they could to not look me in the eye. It got to be very entertaining to see what they would do instead of not helping me. To get our shoes we had to fill out what we needed on an iPad that was by the shoes. That was the only way we could get someone's attention. Once we found out what shoes we wanted we had to wait again at the desk because we needed to get the right replacements for the bottom of the shoes. The only way we got someone to help us was to fill out the iPad again that we needed another pair of shoes, but we said no we just need your help once the guy showed up. When we went to check out, we were found out we were given the wrong shoes and so we went and got the sample one so they could get us the right pair. The girl was totally bugged, but they got a pair that was $100 more. I'm going to notice that??? The cashier was very unfriendly, and was also bugged! We stepped back so she could help other customers while we waited. We could've just stood there, made the customers wait while we waited for my correct shoes-- but thought we'd be nice... she didn't smile, say thank you, etc... My boys have played baseball, football, lacrosse, and now golf, and we've always liked Dicks to get their gear. We will not be returning. I'm still amazed as I think about all the employees that walked past us that never once asked how they could help us. One guy had an earpiece in so it looked like he was maybe more in charge than the others and he actually walked past three times with no words said or eye contact! Pretty sad!!! I understand they work in different parts of the store, but they could've called someone to come and help us very easily! We are going to get shoes elsewhere and return the shoes in the morning. No more money will be spent here... and I have spent thousands at Dicks every year... So I guess I will be going back one more time. Sooo bugged!!!

They do have some refurbished goods, and perhaps at times there are many, but I only spied a couple on my visit. A very few items were on sale, and you got a free tee with a $100 purchase, but other than that, it was all full priced gear. Now, what they make is high quality enough that I am happy to pay the standard price, however I'd done some research ahead of time, and the sleeping bag I was seeking was half price elsewhere. No matter, though, we were happy to check it out in person, along with their selection of hammocks, backpacks, cute pet camping supplies, and truly extensive variety of sleeping pads. Of all the things to be most impressed by, they have some seriously excellent pillows! We bought very comfortable cushy inflatable pillows for backpacking, but for car camping, I would have nabbed the ingenious memory foam filled ones, featuring a protective case that flips around to a cozy fabric cover, all in one! We also got a nice compression sack. The young man who assisted us was friendly and helpful, and happy to check their stock room for the specific sleeping bag I was interested in. Overall, a great experience, and I am pleased to support a local company that crafts such well and thoughtfully executed outdoor products.

If you're a camper, or a hiker who likes to camp, you should do yourself a favor and pop on in here. I'm planning a month long moto-camping trip and I picked up a tent, sleeping mat and pillow that would fit on my bike. And hey, LOCAL company! I much prefer buying local, where you can go a touch the gear, see it when it's set up and get a good idea of what you'll actually be purchasing.

The $1,100 trampoline I bought this year is extremely cheap. The frame is very thin and shakes a lot. The net that we paid extra for is absolute garbage! The U-bolts that hold the net poles on are tiny and snap easily. Had to buy stronger u bolts. The net itself is generic and needs to be trimmed to size and woven on by hand with rope. Today I was restringing the net to make it tighter and noticed that the bumpers that go on the poles were flaking all over the trampoline and basically disintegrating after a year of use. Hadn't noticed before now because my daughter doesn't use the tramp much anymore. When I called to let them know that the bumpers were falling apart after only a year, they told me they are only meant to last a max of 2 years. Again, I told him it had been a year and the last ones we bought with the original trampoline lasted ten years with no flaking or disintegrating. The guy I talked to seemed put out that I was letting him know that the bumpers were falling apart. He tried to tell me that the little holes/pits were from abuse and that extreme temps were the cause of the flaking even though their other bumpers lasted over 10 years. Disappointed. Won't be going back.
