(I ended up with Rossignol Soul 7's that I had been very interested in trying). Before selecting Alpine Sports I had done some online price comparisons of ski area rental shops and several other local places, and Alpine Sports was the best value. That includes their price for a daily damage waiver, which I like to get for convenience but which some places charge surprisingly high amounts. I will definitely rent there again when skiing the North Ogden ski areas.

When we got inside there were some used snowboards and skis and whatnot. Nothing seemed too badly damaged or beat up, there wasn't too much inventory but enough for you to look thru. My friend was looking for a new jacket and found one made of gortex for $250, that might sound expensive but the new retail price was over $600. It wasn't used, it was just a sample from 2015, so its never been worn outside. I though that was a great deal, kinda wish i would have found it first! My friend never bought it immediately, he needed to think over it for a day. When we went back the next morning the guy asked us where we were going snowboarding, we said Snow Basin, he offered us discounted tickets which was great, it saved us about $9 each and we were able to skip the line to purchase tickets at Snow Basin! My friend really liked his jacket and how the gortex performed, next time I'm here, I'm going to take a closer look!

I have two of their products, I'm not a pro or even casual climber - I live in Florida so there's nothing to climb, but I've reached out twice over the year for a headlamp that I left in my car and the batteries exploded and their functional Noctilight case that started breaking - both products were purchased in 2018 and the headlamp was 100% my fault and I told them Other places would tell me that these things were my fault (they'd be right) or it was just wear and tear (reasonable) and they couldn't do anything or they'd offer me a 20% for something from the site, but not Petzl. Petzl completely repaired my headlamp and sent me a rechargeable battery pack (retails for about $30) and since they couldn't replace the headlamp case, they're sending me a completely new one, all at no cost. It's absolutely incredible and I've never bought anything from a company that goes this above and beyond for people. I wish they'd expand their product line to more outdoor gear and I'd buy everything from them, they're a company you want to tell everyone about and everywhere else should take notes. INCREDIBLE!

Went in with my husband to get a plumbing supply and DMSO for a horse, my husband and I split up after looking for items together. I finally the found the DMSO after going up and down a few isles. While I was looking at the different products, a large heavyset female came and stood next to me and started staring at products. While I was trying to decide which product I should get, ( since the exact liquid form I wanted was out), she asked if I was going to just stare at things or was I going to actually get something? WTF? I turned to discover it was an employee!!! Her body language, her tone, her approach was very intentionally aggressive and confrontational. My husband found me just as this was happening and he shut it down, which in hindsight was good because I was beyond triggered! Nothing I was doing merited being treated like this. I live less than 4 miles from this store. I will never return and I'll make sure others don't either.

That was the only way we could get someone's attention. The only way we got someone to help us was to fill out the iPad again that we needed another pair of shoes, but we said no we just need your help once the guy showed up. When we went to check out, we were found out we were given the wrong shoes and so we went and got the sample one so they could get us the right pair. The girl was totally bugged, but they got a pair that was $100 more. I'm going to notice that??? The cashier was very unfriendly, and was also bugged! We stepped back so she could help other customers while we waited. We could've just stood there, made the customers wait while we waited for my correct shoes-- but thought we'd be nice... she didn't smile, say thank you, etc... My boys have played baseball, football, lacrosse, and now golf, and we've always liked Dicks to get their gear. We will not be returning. I'm still amazed as I think about all the employees that walked past us that never once asked how they could help us. One guy had an earpiece in so it looked like he was maybe more in charge than the others and he actually walked past three times with no words said or eye contact! Pretty sad!!! I understand they work in different parts of the store, but they could've called someone to come and help us very easily! We are going to get shoes elsewhere and return the shoes in the morning.
