Wonderful store in a beautiful old building. Lots of the fixtures are vintage and gorgeous and they have a huge assortment of products. Yarn, thread, buttons, books, supplies, and so much more. The historic 25th Street area of Ogden was fun to stroll through, but finding The Needlepoint Joint right smack in the middle made it a perfect afternoon. I've been in many yarn shops and in most of them the staff are helpful. Chloe at TNJ was truly awesome though. She was so patient with my many questions (I'm a very novice knitter) and answered them all with knowledge, kindness and humor. She even went to the back get the project she's currently working on so I could feel how a particular yarn knits up! Finally made it to Needlepoint Joint in Ogden and all I can say is why did I wait so long? Located on iconic 25th street this local yarn store is bigger than I anticipated and the staff was so helpful in picking out yarn for my project. Hope to return soon for a loom class. read more

Beautiful store! The name implies that it's a needlepoint stout, but it's really geared more towards knitting. The majority of the canvases are in drawers, so make sure you pull them out to look at them. Many of the staff do not needlepoint, so it's best to be experienced. Good for purchasing fibers. read more

This store has hands down one of the most amazing selections of yarn and books I've ever seen. I loved browsing their beautiful hand painted and hand died yarns and they had samples of different projects out as well as a whole wall full of books for inspiration. If you're a knitting or crochet nut and looking to make something really special, come here for a new book or a beautiful skein of yarn. They have specialty things like baby alpaca and possum yarn, and a wide variety of weights, textures, and colors. Much of the yarn was pretty pricey though, so while super fun to browse, wouldn't be somewhere I'll be buying in bulk from any time soon (think $20+ for most skeins). read more

This is a beautifully stocked and run knitting and needlepoint store. Visually it is amazing - gorgeous handmade cabinetry, well displayed yarns, tons of qualify choices, great stock of knitting and needlepoint gear & accessories, patterns, buttons, etc. This is the quality of store you'd expect to see in New York or LA, we're very lucky to have them here! I wish their hours were a little more friendly to those of us who work full-time. That seems to be a common issue with yarn stores though. read more

This is a real gem! The yarn here are beautiful, all sorts of different material, color and thicknesses. Plenty of books, needles and hooks. Many assortments of buttons and ribbon. The staff are just lovely! Very knowledgable and friendly. This is the type of place that I would probably just come to hang out. It's so inviting. Also, they do offer classes. I wish I could participate, but my work schedule clashes with anything that happens during "normal" hours. The yarn is a bit expensive, but keep in mind this isn't Jo-Ann's, the yarn is higher quality and unique. Worth every penny. Even the shopping experience is pleasant and enchanting. read more

Amazing selection of yarns. I was completely blown away when I walked in at the range of types and colors. This was wasted on me as I'm a rookie crafter at best. That certainly didn't stop me from finding a very nice yarn for my project. They also have a great selection of books. And the buttons! There are some gorgeous buttons in all shapes, colors, finishes....I've never seen so many unique, cool buttons, and they have hundreds to choose from. Another review mentioned the pricing. Yes, there are some very expensive yarns in this store -- alpaca, silk, cashmere. Many are hand-dyed or otherwise specialty. I would be afraid to use some of them because I'm just not that confident in my knitting skill. But there are also some lovely less-expensive yarns. I found a nice bamboo yarn. Ok, sure, I probably could have found it on-line for less, but part of what you're paying for is the ability to see and feel the yarn, talk to knowledgeable staff, and, in my case, match something exactly to other material. Also, if I have questions, I know I can take the project in and someone will either be able to offer advice or coach me through the project. I've lived in large cities that didn't have a store with this kind of quality product and vast inventory. It's a real gem right here in Ogden. read more

I spoke with four different employees while I was here today. They were all friendly, happy and helpful as could be. Made me wish I worked there, actually. Three of the employees were knitting while I shopped and answered all of my questions. The other employee discussed wool to be used for spinning and also seemed to be quite knowledgeable, as he spins wool himself. I would highly recommend stopping by, just bring your wallet because it will be hard to leave empty handed with their wide selection. read more

Yes, this is a five star shop. As an avid knitter, I always try to visit yarn stores when travelling. I think this is one of the nicest yarn stores I've ever been to. They had a wonderful selection of yarn both type/price point. Great selection of notions, needles and pattern books. read more

This store is excellent. I live in Virginia and have a difficult time obtaining what I need for my needlepoint projects. They even helped me out when I was in a huge pinch for not a big sale. I now buy all my yarn from them and usually have it in my hands in 2 or 3 days. My daughter also orders everything from them and she lives in Texas. read more
