I purchased my RV there in 2020, service was terrible then and should have moved on but made my purchase and got little to no support. had to call Thor to learn how to even use my RV. Now years later and I logged onto their website and was told my RV was worth a minimum of one amount but could get more if in excellent condition. was told to completely unload and bring in. after being told it would only take an hour when making appointmen, it took them 45 minutes to find my appt and then came to tell me it would be 3 hours. I was finally given a call hours later to find they were going to offer me around $10k less than their supposed minimum offer. When I asked what they found wring he said nothing but the interior color is no longer interesting to buyers. what a waste of my time. Then I see the Marcus ad that says if your no happy we're not happy. That was a lie, I called in and their only offer for me wasting my time and money for their false advertising was $100 which I refused. was told Store Manager Michael Murphy would call for clarification. that call never happened. warning you do not go to this location it's a joke and the conve was definitely not worth my time read more

Horrible Service! No customer service skills what so ever. Brought my travel trailer to Camping World Denton to get warranty repair done. Had to remove fuses to my converter due to awful smell ( smelled like electrical burn). Thought my RV will burn down. Had several trim pieces coming off and my flooring was coming up at the entrance door. At one point I had to go back to camping world, because they could not find any problem with the converter, just to find out that they tried to check the converter with the fuses still missing. But yet told me several times that they checked it and everything works fine! Service manager, Greg, was later involved and told me to never bring my RV back to them if I want warranty repair to be done. At the end of our phone conversation he threaded me that I better pick up my RV quick after he calls me back or I could find my RV on the street. Service adviser, Candy, lied several times to me and has absolutely no idea what she was doing. Messages for call back will be transmitted via email from the service receptionist to the service advisers even the receptionist sits 5 feet away from them. So you never get a phone call back! When I finally picked up my RV, after almost 2 month in the shop, all of my equipment (wheel chucks and jack pads) were missing. 2 items out of 4 were actually only repaired. Again horrible service department! Do NOT recommend to bring your RV to camping World Denton! After 10 days: Corporate Office works apparently the same way as the Denton store. Just got a call from Camping World that the 5th wheel we bought DIDN'T UNDER GO A SAFETY CHECK BEFORE THEY DELIVERED IT! Our sales person Nicholas said "yes" to everything we wanted, including the unit having auto leveling and a king sized bed -- it was delivered with neither. I was bugged multiple times after closing, before my unit was delivered, to leave a 5-star review. Really glad I didn't so I can leave an accurate review and warn anyone reading this to avoid Camping World if you want quality service and to feel secure in your camper. read more

We Purchased used rv - 2020 freedom elite 24fe last week of May and found out rv having a breaklight problem when we drove off from Denton office on pickup day. Rv is in the shop and service department have worse service ever. They didn't call with the updates, I'm the one to call to check. I'm very frustrated with the rv. Service dept. Changing their words and timeframe every time I called to check on our rv.I really like to return the rv but then i can't . Sales dept. I give 5 stars but service I give no stars. We had left the rv with service dept. For 3 weeks almost 4 weeks and not fixed. Waiting on the parts.. I just don't get it.. why wait 2 weeks and order the parts? we had to cancelled the two trips costing us over $400. Because of service departmen giving us different timeframes. Worst experience ever. Pleasant surprise.. we had stopped a couple of years ago and the experience wasn't anything outstanding.. this year we needed to get a state inspection and were already on the road.. I called one other inspection place and they could get us in this afternoon.. called Denton camping world, actually got a real person! We purchased a new Prime Time travel trailer from Camping World of Denton In August 2020. The sales staff at this location was friendly and knowledgeable about the RV we were interested in purchasing. In addition, the purchase experience was overall what you would expect from a dealership, suggestive sales of products and RV merchandise were recommended. The team worked with us to ensure we had everything we needed to immediately go RV'ing when we left the store! We were more that happy with our new Prime Time RV and we enjoyed taking it on its maiden trip just a few weeks after our purchase. Although we encountered a few warranty related Issues during our trip (which is to be expected), nothing was mechanically wrong with the RV, mostly cosmetic issues. Camping World of Denton worked with the manufacturer and us to ensure these items were repaired or replaced to our satisfaction. In December, we realized that the travel trailer (although only used a few times) wasn't exactly what we wanted, therefore we upgraded to a 5th wheel RV. We elected to purchase a Prime Time RV again, of course, Camping World of Denton was our go to dealership. We worked with the same staff members that provided us with the friendly purchase we had just a few months earlier. I bought my camper in July 2020 from Camping World in Poteau Oklahoma and had it a day and it leaked and the shower walls were coming away from the walls.... took it back and a week later they did put a nee shower in but they say it's not leaking I hook it to water and it's leaking I take it back they fix the leak and didn't say anything about checking for water damage and I found water damage and they kept it until February 2021and it had more problems and they replaced some wall around the shower and just patched a piece over the wall that is on the outer wall and said it's not damage just cosmetic. I have tried to contact customer service and Marcus Lemonis the CEO with no success for the past two weeks.....they know I am calling and messaging. We purchased a new Wildcat in August 2020. We needed warranty repairs done. Work order was opened September 15, 2020. As of today, March 3, 2021, they still have our camper. We have had 3 service advisors. Two are "no longer with the company". We have made several in person visits, multiple emails and many phone calls to see what the, nearly 6 month, hang up is. We even contacted the "Marcus team" and they have never responded. Currently our RV is still sitting on their lot, except now it is sitting on a flat tire. The RV did not have a flat when we dropped it off. They obviously drug the RV with the flat tire because there were gravel rocks covering the stabilizer and the tire is detached from the wheel. We asked them to inflate the tire twice, they didn't. We have pictures and emails to back up everything I have just stated. read more

My wife and I are eighty years old and have owned travel trailers , fifty wheels ,and a 40 foot motorhome . We had our maintenance work at camping world for years with a very qualified group of service employees . We left the RV world to raise two of our grand children and now , with an empty nest we started our journey back . We re- searched options for several months and decided to go back to camping world to find a qualified RV person to bring us up to date on the new changes in this industry .Well did we luck out finding Jimmy Urland as getting our feet wet again turned out to be a great experience ! Camping World is a joke folks, you go to one dealer and they promise the world, after you spend big bucks at that one location then they forget about you and move to the next person. Yes since they are a big company you can get big savings but that's about it. Every Camping World I have been to from Texas to MO is the same story. Yes I know Covid is a big part of things right now but still treating customers right is a simple business model that the Company over looks. Now this does depend on the store/location I will admit. Example I called the store in Wentzville Mo needed service on my Jayco camper, could not make it during there normal business hours asked if I could drop it off on a Sunday, only to be told no. Asked to speak to a MGR was told MGR was busy, also told this dropping off on Sunday used to be a choice but they stopped it, was not giving a reason why. Funny thing if i traded mine in then I could drop off on Sunday. Of course I had to go to another repair place and got service done and they where much nicer. read more

I purchased three new Dometic A/C units from Ruben Gonzales in parts for $3,200 and one is faulty. They failed to provide me with the information that there is no warranty if I install the units myself, four bolts one wire connector and a thermostat wire. They want me to bring the unit back in so they can diagnose it for $150. Thanks for selling me a defective A/C and charging me shipping!!! Horrible service! Went there to buy a satellite receiver and Ruben was absolutely NO help. We went there the day before (Saturday)and the person at the service desk told us to come in the next day (Sunday) and they could look at our coach and tell us exactly what we need plus help us set up service with Direct TV. Ruben basically refused to do that and he gave us a load of excuses why he couldn't. Too bad....Camping World has now lost all of our business. read more

After two and a half weeks on the road and 2k miles I found a few quirks with my recently purchased 25 ft Thor Siesta MB chassis RV from Camping World Manassas VA and driving cross country. As well my check engine light lit up as I was leaving the RV park so stopped at closest Camping World as I was told by sales when purchasing RV I could stop at ANY camping World along my journey for assistance. I want to service dept and explained my dilemma and was told earliest appointment was mid September. Obviously that did not work for me and asked to speak to manager. He was awesome, Shaun went out to my RV and reviewed each issue I had and said give me a few minutes to get some tools and fix what we can. Out comes Herman, nicest man, and proceeded to repair and or fix/replace parts..A few needed to be ordered so put those on back burner. Because it being a Mercedes chassis they did have to redirect me to Mercedes dealer for engine light but pretty much deduced it was time to add DEF..no more engine light on. Highly recommend these guys and Camping World being true to there claim. I am so greatful for their help especially being a single woman traveling and wanting to fix what I can on my own along the way. read more

It is very frustrating to deal with Camping World Service dept. I am not sure why they always make me feel like I am inconveniencing them. I was hoping to bring in a generator that has an extended Camping World warranty - but they make that very challenging... unless you are okay driving quite a distance and not know if they will repair that day or send it out - or if the warranty is still valid. Camping World Service department really needs to work on customer service - and maybe remember that many people needing their service are people traveling - and waiting a week for an appointment to drop of a generator with no indication of how long to wait - not even an estimated "it may take a few days" is okay if you live in the area - but not when camping through. Overall - I have yet to find a Camping World with decent customer service... but I will keep looking. read more

We bought two 5th wheels from Camping World. The first one was a 2019 and had so many problems, we traded it in on a brand new 2021. This 5th wheel was not cheep. My son took it back to Colorado with him after it was inspected by Camping World and told it was ready to go. He took it to Colorado and guess what? The heating unit went out, (he froze in Colorado). Next the refrigerator went out and then the washing machine. He hauled it back to Texas trying to get it fixed, since he has been living in hotel rooms. I can honestly say it has finally been totally fixed (so they say) and guess what? It has taken them so long to do the repair work that the license plate sticker has gone out of date.......naturally. We have had a brand new 5th wheel that has never been used, yet all the appliances have been replaced. I can honestly say, they have crappy customer service and even worse repair service. WILL NEVER BUY FOR THIS PLACE AGAIN. Oh, when he picked it up this week, they lost the keys to his trailer. This place is a joke. One employee offered us top value for our trailer to get us to take it to them, We get there and they do the appraisal and listed off over $6,800 of alleged/fraudulent repairs and over $16,000 in labor said our 2016 trailer was worth $500 basically everything needed to be replace. Then they said they would give us $18,000 to get us in another used trailer that was clearly in worst shape than ours with a list price of $46,000. BEWARE stay away from this place. If I could give a negative star I would!! BEWARE!!! We took our pop up camper to this location- we had just bought it from a private individual and had not even used it. The store offers an inspection for RVs. We wanted to have it checked out after we bought it. The technician broke the crank on our pop up. Now it doesn't even function, we are completely out of something we just purchased. Talk about a huge disappointment with camping season just arriving!!! When we picked up the camper the store didn't even bother to tell us that they had broke it. WOW! Talk about poor customer service. We didn't even know til the next day when we took it to another dealer and the crank would not work. We are now out of a camper. Apparently they do not know how to operate these campers let alone work in them. They apparently tried to pop up the camper with it latched. Beware I don't believe they know what they are doing there in the service department. I'm sure Marcus Lemonis (CEO) would be so proud of this location and how poorly they have handled our situation. I love the amazing things they have in this store. We are full time RV'ers so we downsized our lives tremendously. Walking through the store to see all of the fun gadgets is a great spend of a few hours. I love that they allow pets, as most people are camping when they come in here, to pick up something they might need or want, don't want the furkids to stay out in the RV. The store is clean, the shelves are stocked and they carry a variety of several different options. Now, for the part that needs VAST improvement. People that work there, need some tips, training and SERIOUS guidance on CUSTOMER SERVICE. There was one young man that was very nice and helpful, however, everyone else that we talked to had the personality and concern of a rabid rattlesnake. I would imagine we have spent NO LESS than $2500 in there, how 'bout at least fake it? We might have asked a few questions, but we wouldn't be there if we didn't expect to buy something, most likely what we are asking about. Please do not whip out an attitude that you are far more important than being there to help the customers. While I was there, I was also looking at RV rug sets, however, the little fence holding them on the shelf was coming off, then broke off, they started falling and an older gentleman taking photos of the store, just walked on by. No please, don't help me, allow me to try and take care of my dogs on a leash, AND round up all of these prepackaged lots of carpeting that are rolling off the shelf onto the floor. I've bought a lot of camping gear in the last year and was looking for a few more items that i wanted. After living in Denton for over ten years I realized i've never stopped off at this place, but that would soon change. When i think of "Camping World" i think of tents, lanterns, sleeping bags, etc... I was really let down when i walked in and found out they had none of that. This place is geared towards RVs. That's cool and all, but disappointing the same. I know the sign says RV crap on the outside, but you would figure that the "World of Camping" would have the stuff aforementioned. I have no problem with this place and if i had an rv this would be my spot to get the stuff i need, but the sign is misleading and pretty much is useless to us real campers. read more

I love the store - they have so many useful things - even for non-campers! I was thinking about having a brake controller installed on my GMC that already has a heavy duty trailer package from the factory. They went to at my car to see if I was 'prewired'. They couldn't tell? Anyway, an appointment was made. Bear in mind it was hot. I don't know what I was thinking. So when I got home, I called GM and asked about the 'charge wire' that CW said probably wasn't there - GM laughed. My brother laughed. I'm sure the folks in the Casita forum laughed but that's where I found that GM doesn't always install the charge fuse - the wire is there of course. But it made me distrust CW for installations. Not just because of that, but because they selected the brake controller and weren't giving me a choice even though I knew which one I needed. It just took them so darn long to set up an appointment that I forgot they 'decided' for me. Needless to say, I cancelled the appt and went somewhere closer where they allowed me to get what I wanted AND didn't discover a 'missing charge wire'! But, I'll be back for stuff that doesn't need to be installed for sure. read more

I called the local Denton store to see if they had a product I needed in stock. I spoke to Barbara who said my item would need to be special ordered. Barbara was very polite and went that extra step to help me get my item in the store as soon as possible. She checked with their local distributors and found someone who was able to get my item in on Tuesday, Christmas Eve. Today is the Saturday before Christmas. I was amazed that she took the time to make sure that I got my item quickly and was very kind and professional. Thank you Barbara!! read more

Ok...so CAMPING WORLD billed us over $2600 for work that wasn't done (NONE OF IT) and they kept us waiting for well over a month while they claimed to be finally doing the work. To be clear they ended up doing what work was done charge free. In response to our complaint, corporate contacted us and made us the oh-so-lame offer of letting us bring the RV back in to try again. We are full-timers so will have the expense of a hotel plus repairs for something they already wasted 6 weeks not doing. The moral of my story...unless you own stock in Camping World, stay as far away from this company as possible. read more

I have been a customer of the Denton Camping World location since they opened over 20 plus years ago. I recently wanted to add a product called Safe-T-Plus to my motorhome. On the company's website it shows that Camping World is one of their dealers. I put a call in to the Denton Camping World location. The person answering said service was busy and she would have them call me back. After 2 weeks and no call back, I called again with the same result, no returned call. After another two weeks I found a wonderful company that still believes in customer service and had the product installed. Very disappointed with the Denton Camping World. read more

I am not sure why this location has poor reviews, however, being a business owner, I understand the importance of customer service so I wanted to share my positive experience. Let me start by saying these people are the friendliest folks I have met in the RV business to date. Here's our story. We live near Houston, TX and purchased a travel trailer in Arkansas from Gander RV (due to the limited availability of the unit we wanted and had it delivered to Denton.) First off, the unit arrived dirty and these nice folks cleaned it up, plugged it in and had it cooled off and ready for our walk thru, even though they were actually tying up loose ends on the other dealers part. So we're inside the store in the meantime, in the AC, waiting in a comfortable area with tables and chairs (with 2 kids) and strolling the store for our necessities. Not one time did I feel like an inconvenience to the staff, even with our multiple questions as a new rv owner. We had the most knowledgeable and experienced RV'er go through our travel trailer with us, all the ins and outs, and even made notes of things that needed to be fixed before we left (such as a missing smoke detector; again tying up loose ends on the other dealers part.) Now do you think they had to go through all of that trouble for a unit THEY didn't even sell? Nope! They were genuinely helpful! Highly recommend them. Purchased a camper the 1st week of April. Love the camper. Sway bars and brake controller were part of the deal. Service shop installed the sway bars but forgot the brake controller...had to go back 2 weeks later. Dropped my car off in the morning and picked it up late afternoon. After the installation, the ABS and skid indicators were lit on my car's instrument panel. Svc. Mgr. gave me a print our of my vehicle error codes and said they didn't work on that and told me to take my car to local dealership. Local car dealer found two major brake components (both, I am told, attached to the very wiring harness Camping World tied into) were defective and had to be replaced. The dealership would not commit to blaming the damage on the install but said it was a "$#^&@ coincidence". I called the store manager 3 times; the first 2 times I left a message, and the 3rd time I was placed on indefinite hold. I called their corporate office, and while they seemed sympathetic, Camping World won't accept any responsibility. You take your car in for an oil change and it comes out with a broken headlight and a flat tire. An oil change can't cause a flat tire or broken headlight but something obviously happened during the oil change. Who is responsible? Long story short, my car had NO PROBLEMS when I dropped it off. Now I'm out almost $3K and I'm still waiting a call back from the local Camping World store manager. read more

Like many of these reviews, I've had some disappointing experiences with Camping World over the past 5 years. However, recently I took my RV in for some major repairs on a slide and the experience was exceptional. My service tech, Rebecca, was constantly updating me on the progress and when we got the RV back the slide worked better then new. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star rating was that it took almost 3 months to get parts. read more

Can you rate this place and their service less than one star, no, so I was forced to give them one...this has been the absolute most ridiculous time I have ever dealt with a service department to get things corrected on an RV that is less than 30 days purchased. Our RV has been in the service department for over two weeks we were supposed to pick it up on Friday last week, changed our plans to Monday still have yet to hear from anyone; just now they answer our call to say absolutely nothing has been taken care of or fixed in the two weeks it has been sitting there. They have lied to us continually for two weeks about the work that has been done to correct the problems and install newly purchased equipment. Do not... I repeat...do not take your RV here for any type of service!!!!! This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!! read more

It appears all Camping Worlds are not the same. I was very surprised with the reviews I was seeing on line. We stopped in at Camping Word Denton Texas just to look and received a warm welcome. The Sales team was very helpful and we soon decided to purchase a 2015 Class A Journey. It took longer then we would have preferred but they had financing complete within our criteria by the end of the day. The next day we took possession of it and when it looked like we may have to drive it after dark (went from a Class C 32' to a Class A 42') they allowed us to stay the night so we could complete the check list the next day. As often happens in our experience, things did not go as smooth as we would have liked but their service team bent over backwards to get everything done. When our camp site threatened to deny us the 50 Amp service we paid for if we did not arrive by the end of the day, the Camping World team drove with us to make sure we knew how our new (to us) Rig worked. The absolute worst!!! Customer service here is a joke! I was actually considering purchasing an RV from this location but after today's experience, you can forget that! I went in for a propane tank refill on my current RV and when I asked the cashier how I go about that, she rolled her eyes at me and told me to get in line, which I did, And when I got up to her I said OK again I'm here to get a propane tank refilled so what do I need to do? Again she rolled her eyes told me to step aside and then got on her walkie-talkie and yelled is anybody available for a propane refill! Then she proceeded to continue to check out customers and continue to hock the good Sam's card to everyone to the point of overkill, all the while ignoring me, until I spoke up and said what do I need to do to get this propane tank refilled? She then rudely blurted "go out to the refill tank with your tank and I'll send somebody out there!" I stood out there for a good 20 minutes and nobody ever showed, at which point I grabbed my tank and headed to the local Enderby propane in Sanger Texas and got the tank filled within five minutes and was back on my way!
