Terrible service. I came in with a certain selection of shoes in mind. Sat down and noticed another customer being helped and she was being helped. The worker walked up immediately after dropping off her shoes and he got my request. unfortunately both boxes were the same size though the box said otherwise. I waited 10 minutes for the worker to come back, but he never did. His coworker or mngr (tall guy) stood near by me without helping me. I thought I'd be a valued customer, but after waiting for so long I decided to leave. (He even looked in my direction, he wasn't assisting anyone btw). This is the second time as well. read more

First & last time I will be visiting. The mask security guard lady (who's also the cashier), was just worried about customers having their mask pulled up all the way to their forehead. She needs to stay home! If she's that worried, she shouldn't be at work! First impression counts, she didn't even bother to smile or say "welcome." She was very demanding, rude, & cold. Also, Texas opened up weeks ago. Stores who still want their customers to wear a mask, has to put a sign out on the door warning their customers. & I didn't see one! I enjoy shopping at this store, but most of the old white males working there are very unpleasant. The ones working in the shoe area never great me and the ones in the clothing area just watch over me in a very uncomfortable manner. There is a long haired gentleman that I usually see working in the backpack area and he is always very kind. I wish all the employees there were more like him. I walked in the store wearing a mask and was immediately stopped at the door and told to wear it above my nose. I told them I could not do this because I cannot breath so I was told that I could not shop there. So I left and will never shop there again even after the mask restrictions are lifted. I have a respiratory condition and can not have obstructed breathing. No point in wasting my time in explaining this to the mask police. They don't know the law ... some people with medical conditions are exempt! Good bye and good riddance. Follow up: In response to the business reply it is their responsibility to know the law in its entirety including the exemptions. Once I told the store manger I could not breath if the mask is worn above my nose it is understood I have a medical condition. By the way my personal information is protected by HIPPA and I do not have to discuss my medical issue with anyone other than my doctor. They are only concerned with the optics of the situation as is obvious by their reply. read more

I've always been a big fan of this store! I'm an even bigger fan knowing that they take the pandemic seriously and block those from entering who refuse to abide by the CDC guidelines & wear a mask properly. I appreciate the management's position on keeping their employees and other mindful customers safe from those who see themselves as so special that they insist on skirting the rules. That type of person should be barred from any store or public place during a pandemic that has killed over 300,000 Americans. read more

Okay, this is another strong recommendation for holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. This place is amazing and is the place I go to pick up unusual and educational toys. I can spend hours in there looking through the children's section. They also have fantastic shoes and clothes for the granola girl...and camping, hiking, backpacking apparel for those so inclined. I am totally blown away by how cool this place is! I have driven past it so many times without even a 2nd glance but I finally decided tonight was the night. WOW! This store has so much stuff in it... and really cool stuff at that. This store is perfect for you if you are planning on backpacking around a foreign country, are into yoga, need a new book or a quirky toy, are into environmentally friendly stuff, like handbags, need winter clothing, or want to make your house smell good! It's a good thing I'm not an impulse shopper, because here is what I would have purchased: large weather resistant shiny tote that says, "eco-freak" (and some other text I can't quite remember) a matching coin purse with a large eye that says, "I see you" the cutest gold sand dollar necklace and large gold and coral ring northface fleece a pair of hard-to-find toms shoes (every pair you buy, buys one pair for a child in africa) an "ugly doll" (that's what they're called) mad libs pacifica candles an apartment therapy book I'm only knocking them down one point because their women's clothing isn't the coolest, but their men's is pretty rad! read more

Ok... So I shop at Whole Earth. That doesn't mean I'm a tree-hugger. I just like the clothing and other things they have here! Honestly though, it's relatively convenient to where I live, the clothes are awesome (and yes, I mean TOMS shoes... don't judge me!), and the service isn't half bad either. All the people here are generally nice. They also have a ton of other stuff for browsing around. You want a 300 pound windchime? Go for it. They have it here. All in all though, it's your pretty earthy meets trendy kinda place. If you like comfy things and enjoy hanging out in the great outdoors, you should go here. They have some cool stuff, and it's definitely worth a stop by to at least check it out. read more

This place totally rocks my socks off. I was impressed immediately by the friendliness of their staff, and the wide variety of neat and earth-friendly goods they had to offer. They also have a huge selection of Toms, which have become my new favorite shoes. I love their novelty section in the middle of the store. My favorite recent finds are the drumstick chopsticks, and the organ donor lunch bag. Anyone who is looking for a great gift idea NEEDS to shop here...you really can't go wrong! I am trying to become more conscious of free trade items, and I am so happy that I walked in here. While not a huge backpacker or hiker, I am a picky customer, and my review is to compliment WEPC for having such great staff that take such good care of their customers. Shopping with my wife for boots, the clerks in the shoe/boot department were over the top in helpfulness, and interest in her needs for hiking boots. I had to have been asked by no less than 4 people if there was anything they could help me with, or anything I would like to look at or try on. Not overbearing....but genuine, caring...young folks that have been taught well the intricacies of quality customer care....very refreshing....just a great bunch of folks overall. The store is well organized, and has lots of cool things even for us non-outdoors types. Well worth a visit if only to browse....I am sure you will find something you "need"...or want... They keep their dressing rooms locked. I had to track down an employee to unlock one. When I asked why do you lock them? They said for security reasons. How about customer convenience?? Seriously??? If these employees were doing their jobs, security shouldn't be an issue. If I have to roam around the store to find someone to unlock a dressing room, then I'll take my business elsewhere! Your stuff is nice, overpriced, but nice. The implication is that no one is to be trusted, that does not sit well with me. Rethink the impression that you are giving your customers, because it's not a good one. read more

This earth friendly store has some interesting products, which would make good gifts for the nature lover/outdoorsy and environmentally conscience person. It's not a bad place to browse, and get some gift-giving ideas. They also have a big assortment of unique toys for kids, like glow in the dark stars, boomerangs, science projects, globes. I've only ever come to check out their shoes, specifically TOMs, and both times left empty footed. They do have a sizable selection of TOMs and performance shoes like chacos, tevas, rainbows, patagonia, etc. And they have a sale section of these types of shoes for up to 50% off the retail price which is worth checking out. But I've never been had any luck here finding cute shoes on sale. On all the times that i've gone, the sales staff has outnumbered the patrons, which made for a cloistered shopping environment, being asked if i need help by various people, and them being subjected to bored stares from more than one staff because they aren't very busy. But I suppose this could be good if you actually need the help, and don't mind the watchful eyes. read more

I wanted to love this store, but was disappointed by management - in employee training and in product selection. Customer service was hit or miss. Two employees were very friendly and helpful, one was not, and I was entirely ignored in the entire shoe department - arguably the department which demands the most salesperson interaction. This is a training issue. I came in looking for a bicycling-specific Mountainsmith bag. WEPC is one of the few stores in Dallas that carries Mountainsmith luggage. A man, who I was led to believe was the manager, rather sternly and dismissively told me he doesn't carry and wouldn't order the bag because they don't stock bicycle gear and that I should try REI. WEPC carries a great variety of outdoor sports gear, some of which is very high end and technical. It's fine if they want to position themselves as an outdoor outfitter of all things BUT bike gear (strange as that may be), but then why all the stuffed animals, origami kits, cookbooks, wind chimes, and random knick-knacks? I saw technical clothing from Exoficcio underwear, to legitimate parkas, even Smartwool hats - but oddly no Smartwool or other such baselayer shirts (useful even in TX as winter approaches) for men. I left the store empty handed just scratching my head. read more

The best way to think of Whole Earth is as a lifestyle store for outdoorsy liberals. If you're taking yourself too seriously, stop in for a dose of pleasant country-store whimsy with a tech-camping flair. It's like doomsday prepping for the terminally optimistic. I hate nature, but wear outdoor-sports apparel because it's practical, and I'd rather buy less than buy cheap and replace what wears out more often. I also like flaps and little grommets and mesh armpit panels and fabrics invented 45 minutes ago. If you want the logo for your clothes to be an oversimplified landscape drawing of mountains, you're in the right place. The staff is earthy, young, sober and polite. I have a lot of questions when I'm here, because the brands are unfamiliar to me as a budding performance-garment enthusiast. I usually leave with what I came for: shoes. I've bought like ten pairs of shoes from here, never paid more than $60, and always felt like I made a great purchase. Also come for the pocket knives, binoculars, vests, puffy coats, things that are returned to the victims' family after the avalanche. read more

Winter's coming and pretty soon the temperature is going to be getting pretty low... I was looking up North Face stuff and it seems like a pretty good brand, the coats look pretty warm. So I checked and saw that Whole Earth Provision stocked some of their inventory and stopped by. There's a pretty good selection of coats and gear here if you're wanting to stay warm. Cheap? Hell no! But it does look like quality stuff soooooo..... I took the plunge and bought a two layer North Face coat. I must have been in that store for more than an hour trying stuff on. If you get something that fits you just right, you'll be good. If you buy something that has so much excess space between you and the coat, it might not keep you warm and snug! read more

Oh how I love Whole Earth! I do wish it were cheaper, but I do love to go in and browse. I also LOVE LOVE their shoes. I am not a shoes girl, but I do like the selection of shoes at Whole Earth. I also like their books. If I need a gift for someone and don't know what to get them, I go to Whole Earth and am guaranteed to walk out with some unique, fun and picked out specifically for the person I was looking for a gift. I do believe that they probably have the largest selection of Toms on the planet. I also like their Teva selection. The only thing I haven't seen there that I think is missing is a Sanuk collection. Be sure and get all the windchimes going when you walk in, it makes the visit much more fun! read more

I love Whole Earth Provision Company. I've been a back packer and adventure athlete almost all my life. I get all my gear at Whole Earth Provision Company. My latest purchase was a pair of Reef flip flops, before that it was a pair of Rainbow flip flops, before that a cool Eagle Nest Outfitters Hammock which I use on the trail when I am back packing and camping. I love this place! I wish I could find others like it across the US. I was primarily looking for a place that sold Patagonia merchandise in the DFW area. I am used to shopping their stores directly, coming from the West. I made the venture into Dallas to Whole Earth Provisions, and was amazed at the selection. I wound up leaving with a pair of Toms as well. I'm just glad they had the camping/hiking merchandise in a segregated section of the store; I surely would have wound up dropping a bit more cash if I had ventured into that area. read more

Whole Earth Provisions is the perfect stop, whether you actually need something, or your hunter gatherer instincts are just surfacing and you want to pass some time shopping. Great place to buy weird under $50 gifts. They have an instructional book on knitting an array of cats, for example. They also have tons of camp/performance clothing, equipment, and tons of shoes. If you are in need of performance underwear, Whole Earth will have what you're looking for. They have entire racks of the stuff. Good selection of Toms styles if you want to look at a bunch in person, but they don't tend to keep the most frequent sizes in stock super well. Very cool store, for almost anyone. They have clothing, hiking/camping gear, kids' toys, gadgets, books, and shoes. As another reviewer mentioned, the store is overstaffed, so there are always people around to help you. The atmosphere is really laid back, too. Sales are great and selling top-notch quality clothes (especially jackets) is the store's forte. Think The North Face, Patagonia, and Keen. Great Hippie/Hiker Supply store close to the Mockingbird Dart Station. Good selection of all kinds of goodies. One section of the store has hiking and camping gear. The other side has clothing, hats, toys, jewelry, garden decorations, shoes and sandals and more. I found some men's Smartwool socks in the clearance section and started my Christmas shopping early (this was in September). My husband got some Tiki Keys... little rubber toppers to put on keys to make them look like Tikis. read more

Great selection of specialty "outdoor" products: It feels more like a boutique version of REI. I could spend hours in there just looking around and it would be impossible to leave empty-handed. They had everything to outfit an expedition (ropes, tent, packs, bags), or just outfit a day in the backyard pool (casual shorts, windchimes, books). If you can't find something interesting here, you're not really looking. If you're even the slightest bit 'outdoorsy', Whole Earth has something for you (or your four-legged friends, too). read more

I like the merchandise they have, it's a bit pricey but what isn't. Service was way less than attentive. Wanted to try some shoes on Saturday afternoon and I had to physically get in the middle of 4 guys that work there having a conversation to get their attention. Then they didn't have my size so I asked for the 1/2 size smaller, tried it on, too small, this time all 4 of them had disappeared. So I just left the $120 shoes on the bench and left. Who ever their ordering manager is needs to learn statistics. If most of the male population wears between a size 10-12 shoe and larger to extra large in shirts wouldn't you want to plus up on those sizes? I've given this mockingbird location multiple tries and they come up short every time. Also the customer service at this location is subpar, you have to actively seek someone out to get assistance.
