A shopper left a single item in the fitting room while rushing because her mom was calling her to hurry. Instead of simply collecting it, an employee stopped her and questioned whether she was taking it, then made her go back. It felt unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable to watch. Hmmm while I continued looking for clothing for an upcoming vacation, a gentleman that works there offered if he could put clothes in a dressing room for me, he was he only helpful person there. In the end I found lots of great clothes for my vacation however, I feel the need to write this review because the only reason I feel I was treated differently was because of the color of my skin. I find it weird because I'm Hispanic and it looked like everyone working there that was ignoring me is Hispanic too. Next time I will rethink going there. I was getting so frustrated cause I was looking for this dress in my size and it was like the 3rd Gap I went too. Not only did the lovely sales lady notice my frustration, she took all the clothes out of my hands and got me a dressing room. She then told me to start trying on and she would look for the dress so I wouldn't end up having a stroke in the store. Smart girl. Fast forward 4 minutes later...VOILA! Dress in hand. Easy as pie. I needed some more pajamas and absolutely LOVE the wide elastic waistband in the cool nights pj pants. I like the flexibility of buying separates for the tops and bottoms. The selection was good and I found what I was looking for in a couple different prints. There were a lot of people in the store and I saw someone at the register (Abigail per my receipt) and also the manager. A few minutes earlier there was an elderly woman with a walker asking someone for help. I think she was feeling faint and was looking for a place to sit down. The manager got Abigail to help her and she kindly helped her to a comfy chair in the front of the store. The manager was off to get a bra out of the back, I think for an exchange. I just wasn't very impressed with the manager. She was so "hands off" and not really contributing to helping people. Another customer ahead of me was curious if she still was a member to qualify for the 40% off. Abigail looked up her phone number and she was still in the system so she went off to shop! Then she called me forward as next in line. I told her she could go assist the woman sitting down but she said the register comes before assisting someone. I took the pj's off the hangers and she thanked me for doing that. She told me the full regular price and then after the 40% off, the total cost was much better! Overall a good experience but something about the manager's lack of assisting customers rubbed me the wrong way.
