He said that could be it, but that shoe makers are starting to come up with their own sizing (like vanity sizes in women's clothing). There were a lot of people in the store and I saw someone at the register (Abigail per my receipt) and also the manager. A few minutes earlier there was an elderly woman with a walker asking someone for help. I think she was feeling faint and was looking for a place to sit down. The manager got Abigail to help her and she kindly helped her to a comfy chair in the front of the store. The manager was off to get a bra out of the back, I think for an exchange. I just wasn't very impressed with the manager. She was so "hands off" and not really contributing to helping people. Another customer ahead of me was curious if she still was a member to qualify for the 40% off. Abigail looked up her phone number and she was still in the system so she went off to shop! Then she called me forward as next in line. I told her she could go assist the woman sitting down but she said the register comes before assisting someone. I took the pj's off the hangers and she thanked me for doing that. She told me the full regular price and then after the 40% off, the total cost was much better! Overall a good experience but something about the manager's lack of assisting customers rubbed me the wrong way.

Few of the longtime employees remaining truly understand what has made Clothes Horse a Dallas institution. They greet customers, offer assistance, acknowledge people when they enter, and create the kind of upscale shopping experience that keeps customers returning to this gem of a store. Unfortunately, some of the newer employees don't seem to share that same customer-service mindset. The atmosphere feels different, and some of the attention to customers that once set the store apart appears to be fading. With that said, my loyalty to Clotheshorse runs deep, and I continue to have great respect for the manager and the few longtime sales associates. I'm hopeful that the store can recapture the level of service that made it so special for so many years. I'll keep giving it another chance because Clotheshorse has been one of my favorite Dallas shopping destinations for a very long time.

I was greeted politely and directed around the corner to the back, where the appraiser is located. That day, my interaction with that lady was uncomfortable. She had a condescending tone and a bad attitude. She even said one of my items was "jacked" and refused to take it. Overall, it felt like my presence was an inconvenience for her. Against my better judgment, I let her take the other items. Fast-forward about a week, and I decided to pay a small fee to retrieve my items from the store. Once again, I was promptly and warmly greeted by the store staff, who directed me to the appraiser again. It was the same appraiser that was present previously. Again, my presence is an inconvenience to her. I tell her why I'm there, and she tells me to go to the store portion. I tell her they directed me back here, so she calls the store staff via her phone and refers to me as a "little girl." I went back to the store portion and the same staff apologized for the miscommunication, and began helping me retrieve the items I had previously agreed to consign. The remainder of my interaction with her was very pleasant. It is quite disheartening writing a review like this, considering my only reason for doing so was the negative experiences I had with a single person.

I usually only buy swimsuits that are $20 from target but I decided I wanted to treat myself because I could not find a swimsuit that fit my body well. I caved and bought this swimsuit for over $200 thinking it would last me for years. I had only worn this swimsuit 3 or 4 times and the underwire of my top came through the fabric, poking into my skin. I take very good care of my swimsuits and do not machine wash them. This should not be happening after the FOURTH time of wearing a swimsuit. I reached out to customer service and said they cannot do anything after the 21 day return policy. In the end I found lots of great clothes for my vacation however, I feel the need to write this review because the only reason I feel I was treated differently was because of the color of my skin. I find it weird because I'm Hispanic and it looked like everyone working there that was ignoring me is Hispanic too. Next time I will rethink going there. I was getting so frustrated cause I was looking for this dress in my size and it was like the 3rd Gap I went too. Not only did the lovely sales lady notice my frustration, she took all the clothes out of my hands and got me a dressing room. She then told me to start trying on and she would look for the dress so I wouldn't end up having a stroke in the store. Smart girl. Fast forward 4 minutes later...VOILA! Dress in hand. Easy as pie. She was cute and talkative, but not creepy talkative, like trying to get me to buy stuff. Oh and the new 1969 jeans are in and they are TO DIE FOR! Fit like a glove... They called over a fabulous stylist, Mastoora, and she helped me find amazing options that fit perfectly. I felt so confident and bought just about everything she put together.
