I came to this establishment twice before leaving a review. During my initial visit, I sat at the bar and ordered the crab empanadas, which were over cooked, & a spicy margarita, which was too strong. The bar tender was not as engaging despite no one else sitting there. During my second visit, I ordered the duck breast, which was somewhat bland despite the red onion garnish, and the service was lack luster yet again. Based on observation, most of the staff seem to be more interactive amongst themselves than with customers. In all, the food was not impressive & lacked flavor, and the service leaves much to be desired.

I really enjoyed Calle Latina. I sat at the bar. Jude (the bartender) was polite, professional, and engaging. He makes great blood orange margaritas (FYI- you can add CBD to it for a small price. Jude recommended the ancho chili glazed pork belly and it was delicious. I also tried the lump crab empanadas which was great as well. I apologize about the picture of the black beans and rice. I would never ordinarily take a bite of something then take a picture of it. I honestly thought it was going to be so bland because it looks like plain Uncle Ben's Rice. I was pleasantly surprised, it was well seasoned and the black beans were amazing. I had a great experience and I will definitely be back soon.

I've been twice: my first trip with a friend was so delightful that when I got a new job offer, I picked this restaurant for an impromptu celebration dinner with my husband. Each time I have been here, I have been happy to see the place is comfortably busy with a cross-section of locals like ourselves. (We can walk here.) The restaurant offers an inventive menu that is executed with care and attention to detail with fresh ingredients, including gorgeous vegetables. It's a treat, and well-priced for the quality and atmosphere, which is relaxing, not too noisy, and allows for privacy. The restaurant also offers drink specials during the week, which we look forward to checking out in the future. We started our meal with an order of Acevichado Rolls from the Ceviche section of the menu - all of the options are inventive and sound delicious. We were very happy with our choice, but I feel confident they are all good. The ahi tuna was fresh, and perfectly complemented by the sauce and Serrano pepper. (See photo!) For the second time, I ordered the Brazilian Pincho with portobello mushrooms - it came out sizzling in a cast iron skillet. This is hands-down one of my favorite, if not my favorite meals in a restaurant over the past 12 months. All the vegetables are spiced to perfection and the mushrooms are meaty and juicy. The polenta is served in cubes, crispy on the outside. The chimmichuri is exactly the right condiment. My husband ordered the Calle Fish Tacos and he loved them. He was impressed that the tacos used a generous portion of fish, which was perfectly cooked. The black beans and rice were also good. I had a jalapeño margarita with a tajin rim and I was in heaven. It reminded me of a cocktail I had in Kingston, NY that I still dream about, so you can imagine how happy I was to find its twin.

This place is a gem! 10/10! I am so happy I found this place. I went on a Sunday when they first opened. It's a good size spot with covered outside seating which I love. The customer service 20 out of 10! Myrielle was so nice, sweet and helpful. The manager stopped by before I left made sure all was good. The chef, amazing! because the food, absolutely delicious! I ordered so much food it was all so good. No misses. Come here hungry. I spent $56 and had food left for 2 more meals. Prices a super fair and the portions are perfect. I had the plantains with cinnamon drizzle, so good, the ceviche, the wild blueberry mock tail! So good, the yuca fries, and best of all, the breakfast empanada! Let me tell you, the soft flaky crust, the texture, absolutely delicious. Mines was to have chicken, it was only egg and cheese with unions and I little mushroom I think, so I was mad about that, but it was so good hot and fresh, I enjoyed it all the same. Something I ordered came with rice and beans. I ate that the next day with sour cream and chips, chefs kiss. This is a place to eat good, period. I can't wait to go back and try more items. This is my new spot. Highly recommend.

I pass Calle Latina often and decided to stop in at their new location for a bite to eat and I'm glad I did. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and there were only a few other patrons in the restaurant so the service was very attentive and relaxed. I didn't feel rushed at all, which I loved and Frederick was super helpful in guiding me to a delicious selection. I love ceviche so I decided to go with the mango mixto ceviche and it was perfect. The flavors merged really well and it was just enough food to feel satisfied. I also ordered a caprinia, which you can never go wrong with a caprinia. They also have other daily drink specials. Another thing I appreciate is the location, it's much more accessible than the previous location and feels a bit roomier. Ambiance was really great, loved the indoor/outdoor patio feel of this place. I'll definitely be back.

Service on a Sunday afternoon was fabulous and we were seated immediately! The hibiscus tea was refreshing and the tacos were delicious!

Table for 2 for dinner We approached the restaurant and noticed a nice-sized shared parking lot. I quickly found a spot and took the short walk to the entrance. We didn't have a reservation and requested outside seating. However, we were told the outside area was reserved for an event. Later, we heard someone else ask to sit outside, and they were led there without hesitation. It felt like there was some miscommunication regarding the outside seating area. On a nice day, outside seating is always our preference. I mentioned the mix-up to our server but didn't make a big deal out of it. We reviewed the drink menu and ordered the Sweetwater Lager, which our server suggested, and Wifey ordered the same. We thought we were tasting something new, but It turned out to be the Sweetwater 420 Pale Ale that we'd tasted before. We reviewed the food options and made our decision. Wifey went for the Lombo, described as Brazilian pork tenderloin with a side of plantains. I opted for the Fried Adobo Chicken, which came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. While waiting for our food, we noticed the great overall design and ambiance of the restaurant, with vibrant colors and original art everywhere. The food came out pretty quickly and looked delicious. We started to dig in, and the food did not disappoint. I loved my fried chicken meal, and Wifey just said, "Wow Wow" about her pork tenderloin. The portions were big enough that we had leftovers to take home. We also decided to order a Tres Leches to go. Overall, we had a very good experience at Calle Latina, and our server, Ciarra, was nice and took good care of us.

Nice setting, tempting small plate, entree, and cocktail choices, but I got the SLIGHT impression that our server just wasn't really in the "mood" to deal with us (or anyone else...) the night we were there. No worries, no harm/no foul... The food here is too good to "ding" a bad attitude. We started out with the tostones with cheese and pineapple salsa, which was SO good, I (selfishly...) didn't want to share!! I'm going to STEAL this recipe and ATTEMPT to make it at home!! The menu was challenging, EVERYTHING sounded wonderful, but I went with the Brasilian Pinchos de Hongos (deliciously seasoned portobello mushrooms and assorted roasted veggies), while the others at my table went for an order of beef empanadas and veg. arepas. They also took advantage of the 2/1 margaritas. I was tempted to try one of their desserts, either the 3 leches cake or the maracuya passion mousse cake, but was "good" instead... There's a great variety of creatively done L. American small and large plate options here... I hope to return one day and try some more!! Mmmmm!!

    Mofongo With Garlic Shrimp
    Daniela E.

This is a little spot next to the train station and a store but it has a small patio (dog friendly) and a small but really cute inside. The customer service was great, our waiter made sure to bring our pup water, check on us and tell us a little about the menu. What fell short was the flavors of the dishes... we had the garlic shrimp mofongo which tasted like they just poured a bunch of sofrito... which is a sauce that usually combines onions, garlic, peppers, herbs and tomato paste. Which is used in Spanish recipes but a little goes a lot and the flavors were overwhelming in this particular dish. I would of liked more of a garlic sauce since was suppose to be garlic shrimp. The tostones were good but the pineapple slaw that was added to the side tasted like it went bad, it had a weird acidity. The tostones were really thin so they were just a bit crispy. Sorry, I wouldn't go again as the flavors fell short but the customer service was great!

    Yum!

We haven't been in years, simply due to life getting in the way. I was thrilled that everything is still top tier. Food is impeccable, the new location is vibrant and well designed and the staff is always gracious. I've never had one bad experience here!

Great as usual. Celebrating a birthday. It was extremely slow the night we went , started out as the only people there . Drinks were good and reasonably priced. Had the mofongo with the shrimp .. I'd absolutely recommend that. There are a lot of food items on the menu. The venue is very small/intimate but I like it. Can't say enough about how good the food is. This place is absolutely worth the visit. Service is pretty good as noted the place is super small so you don't get lost in the shuffle.

    Do they have outdoor seating?

Yes. They have a patio out in the front.

Do they allow dogs on the patio?

Yes. But be advised that the space is tiny so if your baby likes to roam, while tethered, it may not be a great idea.

The service was great from start to finish. To start I ordered the salmon chips to share with my husband. I was nervous as I've only had salmon chips at another local restaurant but Tio Lucho's version was very good. The chips were very balanced in ratio of salmon to chip with the chip being on the thinner side to highlight the salmon. Our waitress shared that the restaurant is a fusion of Peruvian and South Georgia style food. They highlight their seafood as their speciality and from the words of others at the table who ordered oysters, ceviche and cuts of fish they do that very well. For my entree I had the Lomo Saltado with a side of red beans and rice. The steak in the Lomo Saltado was extremely tender and the overall dish was rich in flavor. I wish there was more steak because of how good it was. Once dinner hours ended the restaurant turned into a dance floor with a DJ which we also enjoyed for a bit. I explained what was wrong with it and was told they were cooking more so I waited on the second batch. My friend was also finally able to order, she got the guacamole and she liked it. I got paella from the "second" batch and it looked a little better ONLY, I tasted it and it tasted like water, I tried the shrimp and it was water logged too so I just put it to the side and did not complain anymore. The beef empanadas were good, so was the chicken empanadas according to my friend. I also got a shrimp taco and a bbq taco, they were good just too little. The disc was as big as a mayonnaise jar lid not a good value for $4 each. I will not complaint about the drinks, those were good. That affected me the most was the wait. We had to try and make some type of contact with the bartender to order. I was getting upset so I asked for the check which took FOREVER to get. That was something else, I only looked that the items were correct and nothing else. I was not warned that 20% tip was added already so I double tipped. MY FAULT, I WILL NEVER go back.

I went on a holiday, which was super busy, but even so, service was prompt and attentive. I ordered a pasaflora to drink, which had a beautiful flower in it, queso blanco with chips, al pastor mushroom tacos, chochoyotes, and flan for dessert. Every single dish was inspired, layered with flavor, creative, and truly unique. The presentation was also lovely and each bite felt thoughtful and well-executed. I would order everything a million times over! One thing that especially stood out was the flan's texture, which was silky, delicate, and perfectly balanced. I was also pleasantly surprised to see fried green tomatoes on the menu. It felt like such a special nod to the restaurant's Southern location, blending regional influence in a really cool way. The owner was super nice, which made the experience even better. The decor is gorgeous and so inviting, with intimate, cozy lighting. The whole space feels clean, artistic, and thoughtfully designed. This is an amazing date-night spot that I truly hope sticks around for a long, loooong time. Everything about the atmosphere and experience makes it perfect for a special evening out. I'm already planning to go back and explore more of the menu, but based on my first visit alone, I might even dare to say this is the best vegan restaurant in Atlanta. The jury's still out, but I'm more than happy to keep doing the research to confirm!! lol Last thing I'll say is that I was so grateful not to have to wade through a bunch of non-vegan menu options to figure I it what I could actually order. I also don't have to wonder if my food was being cooked next to a slab of dead animal, which is not the case most places I go. So, thank you for being ALL vegan. The food is so good that there is no chance a non-vegan will feel they've missed out on meat anyway. Logistical stuff: I saw a little bit of street parking, but not a ton. Parking in the deck is definitely the easiest option. You could theoretically bike/skate the Beltline and just walk a couple of blocks to get there. The space is on the smaller side, so I'd recommend making a reservation to be safe if you're visiting on a Friday/Saturday night.
