Cute little spot on the side of the road. Quick service. You walk up, order your food, they give you a number, then pick your seat. The menu looked so good I wanted to order so many different things. I settled on the arepa pernil and mixed seasonal veggies. The food is brought out as it's ready and the veggies came out first. They were perfectly cooked, soft enough to just not into it with a slight crunch. The sauce they are cooked in gives them a nice herbal brightness and is not too heavy. For the arepa, the pork tasted fresh and lightly seasoned. Got me I would have like a little more of a seasoned taste but the mild sauce and garlic mayo helped bring it all together. The arepa itself was my favorite part. The portion is huge. I could not finish it and I'm happy to left overs for later.

This Venezuelan spot in Avondale is a gem...colorfully decorated and lively vibe. The food is amazing! We started with tostones and empanadas for the table, and both were delicious, however the tostones were a top fave. Everyone got a different meal, but one of the clear winners was the Patacon, a sandwich type deal but served between two pieces of fried green banana! Yum!! The tough part is queuing up and ordering. It is smack at the front door, a darker area of the restaurant and the menu so big with tiny writing I had no chance to really study what I want. I now know I need to read the menu at home and then go and order - but I do wish it was tabe service.

My hubby and I loved this spot. We had the best experience at the counter. Shoutout to Alana for helping us navigate the menu and picking my husband out an Arepa that he loved. The restaurant was nicely decorated and not too crowded for Saturday night. We sat outside with the heaters and our food came out fresh and in a timely manner. We ordered the Venezuela Libre and the Guarapita de Parchita for our drinks. The Guarapita was a perfect drink and the flavors took me to an island. The Venezuela Libre has a nice sting with Rum and Mexican coke but squeezing a lime into it really set it off. We ordered the Arepa Pernil and fried chicken with mango sauce and rice and black beans. The Fried chicken arepa was the star of the show. While the Pernil was good I the juices from the pork made the arepa a little soggy. The black beans are on the sweeter side but still really good. I added their delicious garlic sauce to everything it was so yummy and elevated the dishes. I cannot wait to return to try an empanada and another tasty drink.

The Cachapa Pernil was outstanding with deliciously, tender pork, yummy onions, and guayanes cheese. Definitely the store of our meal! The arepa guayanesa was a very generous serving of cheese, but it was a little bit sweeter than I would have liked. The black bean soup also had a slightly sweet taste, but was delicious when you added a little bit of the habanero sauce and the garlic, sour cream sauce. If you like spicy, ask for a little bit of the habanero sauce. Use it sparingly. Great flavor! The restaurant is very cute, with bright colored tables and a very accommodating staff.

Parking is very limited. There are only 4 parking spots in the back but the other patrons found parking somewhere. Order in the front and they will give you a number. Waiter will bring your food along with any sauces that you request. I ordered the Asado Negro Arepa with the Guava Empanada. The arepa is loaded with meat and grilled onions. I got some garlic sauce and mango habanero sauce to give it a kick. The arepa tastes great. The guava empanada is extremely hot so let it cool down first or use dinner ware. The empanada is good as well.

Arepa Mia is the kind of place that effortlessly combines hearty, flavorful food with a relaxed, no-frills vibe. You order at the counter, and there's plenty of seating both inside and on the covered patio--perfect for enjoying a casual meal without Their arepas are fork-and-knife affairs (or wonderfully messy hand held delights), stuffed to the brim with bold, delicious fillings. The meat was tender and juicy, while the veggie-packed options overflowed with freshness. Pair it with the cilantro garlic sauce or natta sauce--both are absolute must-haves that elevate every bite. Other standouts from the meal included the yuca fries (crispy and golden, with just the right amount of chew), the sweet plantains (perfectly caramelized and served with a creamy dipping sauce), and the empanadas, which were pure crispy and packed with flavor. For something extra decadent, the cachapa with cheese was a showstopper--a corn pancake stuffed with layers of creamy cheese that's rich but oh-so-satisfying. Overall, Arepa Mia is the kind of spot where every dish feels like comfort food, but with a vibrant, Latin flair. If you're looking for a casual spot that delivers big on flavor, don't skip this one!

Cute spit to grab lunch. The biggest issue is parking, but we're were told you can park across the street. Arepas were good, but I think a little bit on the pricier side for the portions.

This place is CRAZY, STUPID GOOD! Order the tostones!! We got the pork and it was OUTSTANDING!!! It's about a mile away from Your DeKalb Farmers Market!!!

I've been so excited to try Arepa Mia. I ordered the Asado Negro Arepa and was really disappointed. The menu says it's marinated for 12 hrs but it was really bland. They did give a lot of meat so that was great, but that was the only good thing about it. I also split the rice and beans and that was great. It had a great taste. My husband had the chicken cachapas and his was tasty. On the plus side they got out food out quickly. For 2 people, we each ordered one thing and then split a side and it was a good amount. Next time I'll get the cachapas. Parking: only a few spots. We parked at another local business that was closed.

This spot is in a cramped area; there are a few parking spaces in the back, but based on my experience they are likely to fill quickly. The menu variety was considerable, and with the entire menu being gluten-free and a good number of vegetarian and occasional vegan options as well. If you like corn, you'll be happy. A got a tropical fruit juice, which always adds to the vibe. I ordered their version of a domino arepa, typically this is a bean and cheese combo but theirs had plantains and some sauteed vegetables as well. However, I was a bit surprised as I thought I might be getting a couple but there was only one. For what I spent, I wasn't that full. But it was tasty, and this is a cuisine I wish I could find more easily.

I have actually been living right next to Arepa Mia and always wanted to try but it took some time. As of recent I was leaving school and decided that I was going to finally try some AREPA's! Long story short, I finally got my arepas and I am sold. That arepa was so good! I'll def be back. Thank you to the staff for all their help.

Arepas were amazing! The meat was very flavorful and juicy. We sat at the bar and watched them make the arepas from scratch. We also ordered the chips (the garlic sauce is definitely the best) and juices as well. The juices were very fresh! I think the pricing is very reasonable for what you are getting. The staff were very friendly! This is definitely a must check out!

This spot is in Avondale Estates in Decatur. It has patio dining and inside the dining area is beautifully decorated with Venezuelan culture. There isn't much parking on the lot but there's some across the street one the other businesses have closed. You order at the counter and servers bring your meal to your table. The staff was very hospitable. The place was packed on a Sunday evening with plenty of couples and families! Soo it's kid approved! The food here was definitely good. I've visited twice and tried 2 different arepas and my son had the cachapa which he loved! The price is definitely more than any other arepa place in town, I can't say it's better or that it's worth the price when you can get the same thing somewhere else cheaper...overall I would visit this place again if in the area.

While my review itself is a bit late, I do think about this place often because of how good the food was. I haven't had pepitos before, but this made an amazing introduction for me! From the outside, it looked like the rest of the plaza and didn't stand out much. Stepping in, it was surprisingly pretty cool and a bit modern with the lighting and walls. It was clean too. I would recommend getting a pepitos over the burger, though both are great. It's just easier to put away the rest for later because of how filling eating just half is. The fries were crispy and good for trying out all the sauces. And the sauces? Love the variety. The bacon sauce truly tastes like bacon and has bits of it in it. Corn is probably made with sweet corn, and it was creamy. Love the garlic. The honey mustard was good too. Cheese confuses me. It wasn't a cheese flavor I am more familiar with, and it wasn't like the cheese used in the meal. I didn't dislike it, but I also did mix sauces together, and I liked it better once mixed with something else. Garlic still is just great overall though. We ended with churros, which were pretty good. They drizzle lots of chocolate, caramel, and condensed milk over them, and while I felt guilty after eating so much food, I loved every moment. They give quite a bit, and we couldn't finish them all. Great dessert for sharing, and another draw to this place if you don't want a full meal, though I highly recommend getting food as well.

Most places around just offer the mini sized ones, so when I came across Los Maracuchos online and saw the more standard sized ones, we set out for an adventure. Driving up, we were a bit confused. We didn't realize at first, but it's actually located inside the Wyndham Garden Hotel. We parked and stepped inside, and walked up to the hostess/waitress at the restaurant. She seated us and showed us where the QR code on the table was to view the menu. We already had an idea as to what we wanted, so we placed the order as soon as she came to check on us. She was very helpful, kind, and so lovely! To drink, I enjoyed a papelón con limón. It was very refreshing, especially on this hot summer day. To eat (because we knew we would want to take things home as well), we ordered 4 orders of tequeños (4 come in 1 order), 3 cheese empanadas, and 1 cheese cachapa. Everything was absolutely delicious! The tequeños were cheesy and exceeded our expectations! Of course the garlic sauce that came with it was divine. The empanadas were probably the crunchiest we've ever had--so great and flavorful! The cachapa was perfectly balanced with savory cheese, sweet corn cake, and tangy nata sauce. So, did we find the best tequeño in the area? YES!!! We will definitely be returning to try more things! Thank you for serving us!

Let me begin by the service - fantastic. Unsure of her name, but she was the only individual working there. When we arrived, the place was empty. The experience felt very personal, she would approach our table, give us suggestions on her favorites (which were spot on) and was just a joy to be around. As for food, we ordered 2 Mandocas (fried plantains w/brown sugar + cheese). Delicious! I ordered a veggie quesadilla which had french fries as an accompaniment. The quesadilla had unique additions you wouldn't normally find in other establishments such as zucchini, squash, corn, carrots, etc. It was delightful and much more filling than looks suggest. My girlfriend ordered the Arepitas - Two white corn patty stuffed with shredded chicken or pork, lettuce, 4 cheese, ketchup and home mayo. She enjoyed it and also said it was pretty filling. For drinks, I ordered venezuelan soda (Frescolita) which is essentially cream soda + bubblegum. Weird, I know but it's fantastic. My girlfriend ordered passionfruit juice which was very refreshing. Our total (pre-tip) ended up being around 33 dollars which is great. We recommend trying this place out in favour of other nearby Venezuelan restaurants in order to have a unique experience and great service.

It was kind of a lot, but that's also due to the menu, which took me awhile to decide on what to eat. Our server was attentive and helpful. We had questions, and he answered to the best of his abilities. He also brought out chips and sauces while we were looking through the menu and described each sauce. We liked the jalapeno and garlic ones the most! The arepa tour was a nice way to try different flavors without having to commit to one choice. The arepas tasted good, though I definitely preferred some over others. If you are not a savory and sweet enjoyer, I would not recommend Pabellon as you can taste the fried plantain in each bite. I liked it, but my friend found it an odd combination. I wasn't the biggest fan of shredded chicken, but that's bc it's typically dry, and while this wasn't super dry, it wasn't exactly as flavorful as the other options. For the main course, the asado negro sounded right up my alley as the arepa version went into detail with how the beef is braised in red wine and sugar cane. It left much to be desired when I ordered the big plate non-arepa version. Just off looks, it wasn't as visually appealing as others' dishes were. Eating it... well, the meat was very, very dry. The sauce was fine, but it didn't help with the dryness of the meat. I most likely ordered wrong since everything else was great. I got quesillo for dessert, which was described as flan, and I found it pretty good. Thicker than I'm used to and not as smooth but with a lovely cinnamon flavor.
