We love coming here because of the patio, the Sunday bands, the vibe; but the service ( at least on the patio) sucks! I have never been here when the service on the patio was attentive. We have been ignored more times than not, even after asking the barback/busboy to grab the attention of a waitress. Great fun, but if you want to spend money and buy a drink or two, go to the bar because you won't get service on the patio. The waitress's here are just so plain rude, we sat for 45 minutes with no service. We finally asked the bus boy if he could either take our order or get a waiter. He said could not, and he grabs the waitress in front of us and pointed to our table. The waitress then waited about five minutes looking at our area and went to the table next to us instead and took their order, then walked away. We left the restaurant and wound up just going home. Great place to grab some amazing bratwurst if you are in the mood, lots of variety and unusual types to take a crack at. Came with a few friends for lunch and we all wanted to get something different so that we could munch on each others sausages; Rabbit and rattlesnake, duck and bacon, and wild boar were the supposed top picks and no one was at all disappointed with the choices. Seated at the bar we were able to chat with the server and the dude was super friendly with an epic mustache to behold. Food came fairly quickly and sides of fries, onion rings, and sweet potato fries all tasted amazing. The sausage came out a tiny bit smaller than was expected so it was a bit difficult to split it up but was still enough to fill the tummy box. The desserts here were highly recommended by other regulars that we chatted with, fried PB and J? Seems legit... but you cant really go wrong with fried sweets in general. Came here for lunch on a weekend and place was completely empty. The employees were all sitting at the bar and gave us this look that made me wonder if it was a mistake. However, be forewarned Joe's has a very limited menu - basically a bunch of sausages and fried stuff - albeit some exotic variety you won't find anywhere. For more health conscious eaters (such as the wife), try somewhere else. We tried the rattlesnake based on waiter's recommendation and son had turkey. Turkey is what you expect - very ordinary. The rattlesnake was nice but tasted like chicken. For the price, the sausages were a little smaller than I expected but they overload the plate with the side - in our case we had delicious sweet potato fries and onion rings. What stood out was everyone was freshly made and hot so everything was made to order. Joe's is better suited for a meal w/ the fellas than a place for a family meal. read more

Pretty much only enjoyed this place for the ice cold beer and window seat. It was not at all what I expected though. The menu was small, and only had your odd fair type of foods and sausages. I got the bratwurst thinking, even assuming, that I would not be able to get through the whole thing. (thats what she said). When I got it, it was as if someone had read my mind and cut it in half. Only thing was I still wanted that other half. Even if I wasnt going to eat it, I still wanted it there on my plate keeping my fries company. My bf got the corn dog. This was the most obscene corn dog I have ever witnessed. Part of me wanted to laugh everytime I looked down and saw it, the other part of me wanted to cry in horror. They do NOT have garlic fries, however, when I asked the server for the garlic fries, he said he'll try to get that on for me. He def came through and didn't even charge me anything extra. What I also love about the dog is the bun itself. The common dogs are served with these dense buns, but Joe's uses a baguette type and it had a crispy and light crunch that couples perfectly with the nice crunch of the dogs' casing. YUMmmmY. My partner had the wild boar with half onion rings and half regular fries. It was Super tasty as well. Good flavors, the sauce and toppings went perfectly together. It couldn't have gotten any better than that. My other dine-mates had burgers that they also thought was good. I stole some sweet potato fries from my friends and they were very crispy and still hot from the fryer. Our regular fries I could tell weren't freshly fried to order. Btw, the dish was HUGE, a lot of fries and okay sized dogs. Also, if you're not a fan of smoking, be warned, smoking is only allowed outside, but the smell does drift in and you would get a painful slap of it. Joe's is the type of place that is bad for your waistline but great for your taste buds. The variations or encased tube meats known as sausages is outstanding. Gotta a hankering for alligator? How about rabbit and rattlesnake? Joe has you covered. Are you looking for carnival fried foods? Sink your teeth into deep fried twinkles, PB&J, snickers or Ho Hos! Sweet potato fries and onion rings are the best sides. Regular shoestrings are good too, but I like a little twist. I like that Joe's doesn't even pretend to offer salads or healthy items. We were there on patio of Heroes bar due to pandemic. Got served 1-2 rounds along with bbq platter. The food was good for the price. Never saw server after an hour and half. Maybe she was on break. Don't know. If they have a large area to serve, maybe get more than 3 servers. Finally saw our server and she never came by our table to see how we were doing, wanted refills on drinks and beer. Would have gotten more beer if she came by. Ended up leaving as waited over another hour to get our check. Enough was enough and couldn't wait around as she was "flirting" with regular customers and even tried to go up to her but she turned around and walked the other way. I guess she doesn't like our money. I'm sure bill was at least $100 plus tip. I believe her name was sarah. After reading a few reviews and knowing I was going to be stopping in this direction I knew I wanted to try this place. I originally watched the Man VS Food audition for Fullerton and this place was the second place featured on the video. It was a Sunday when I came in for lunch. There is street parking and a side lot. To my surprise the bar was already lined up with people NLT noon! The place is clean and has plenty of seating. The decor is interesting there is a leg plastic leg hanging from the ceiling and various other odd items. As soon as we sat at the table we were immediately created by the bartender/waitress. What I ordered: Rattlesnake and Rabbit Sausage with my selection of shoestring fries. 9.95 The water/soda/tea comes in huge pints! Yup I did it I ate something strange crazy and out of this world! We received our food in less then 15 minutes and their customer service was excellent. I loved the flavor of the sausage and fries! It was served hot and the sausage was served in a brochen type bread instead of your ordinary roll. It had sweet onions and spicy mustard. Ok here comes the best part!!! I ordered the Fried Twinkies!!!! That's right I did it and enjoyed every savory calorie! They also have fried snickers, hoho's, cupcakes, and apple pie. All come with a side of vanilla bean ice cream. 6.95! I would come here again in a heart beat and am already planning the next visit! So start planning yours trust me you will enjoy! read more

Came in on a Wednesday evening with some friends for drinks. We ended up ordering some appetizers. Drinks were decently made, can't really mess up a Jamison & Coke unless you forget the Jamison. As for the apps, we ordered the Mediterranean flatbread, pepperoni flatbread, and their nachos with steak. Nachos were definitely my favorite. It was nice that the bar tender listened to us and made the nachos as we requested, to have all the fixings in each layer. My fiance and I went here right after picking up my wedding dress at The Dresser (love that place too). Joe's is just plain wonderful. We walked in and the place looked deserted (Monday afternoon around 1pm). Surprisingly a waitress greeted us right away and offered drinks and a menu. We sat at the bar and made small talk with the friendly cute waitress. We ended up having about 3 or 4 beers and some onion rings + sweet potato fries. OMG BEST rings and fries EVER!!! What, do they put crack in these things??? Anyhow, they also had Kostritzer on tap. Very lovely. Parking seemed aplenty. We parked on the street with no problems. (free!) While sipping our beers and delicious snacks we noticed the food looked OFF THE HOOK! Giant sausages... (I'm German) and just huge plates of great looking/smelling food. My boyfriend and I first experienced Joe's a few weekends ago. He and his friends had a basketball game and decided to come for a beer afterwards. I was starving so we decided to order some food. We shared the Cajun Chicken Club. $11 - Blackened chicken breast, Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, Mozzarella cheese, Chipotle mayo, served on a warm Ciabatta roll and added avocado. We also ordered a large side of Tater Tots (My absolute favorite thing on earth). The sandwich was delicious and the tater tots were crispy and perfectly cooked. Fast forward to this past weekend. We went on a hike and decided to come to Joe's since our fist time there was great and I was craving the sandwich & tots again. This second time around, was even better. Food was cooked to perfection and extremely tasteful (we each ordered our own plate and it was more than enough food). I loved that they split the large order of tater tots onto both our entrees instead of giving us a third plate to deal with. Again, I wish that the chicken was a little bigger to fit with the bun but it's still super filling. Joe's is more of a bar set up than a restaurant and we are perfectly okay with that. The bar seating is extremely comfortable and has enough room to eat without feeling crammed. Danielle was our server (as well as the first time) and she is wonderful. The gentleman next to us ordered a bowl of pozole and as it was being served to him, I made the comment how amazing it smelled. Next thing we know, the cook himself is bringing out a small cup for my boyfriend and I to try. IT WAS TO DIE FOR. We asked if they have a brunch and we were informed every Saturday and Sunday from 9am-1pm. $5 Micheladas and bottomless mimosas. Needless to say, this is our new weekend brunch spot. The service here is absolutely flawless. They are kind and extremely personable. The atmosphere is great and beers are cold and huge. My friends and I ended up at Joe's after dealing with an overcrowded Roscoe's and Heroes (also, the manager at Heroes was unfriendly and rude, and I really didn't want to give that DB my business). We didn't expect much from Joe's, as there were only a few people dining there when we arrived, but by that point, our expectations were slightly depressed, and as a result, all we wanted was some basic grub and a couple of cold beers. Overall, Joe's met our needs. That isn't to say that our dining experience at Joe's was perfect - the restaurant has its strengths, but it is not without some weaknesses (or areas that could be improved). They are: Strengths Pretty good food - the fried peanut butter & jelly sandwich was terrific and The Homewrecker had potential (see Weaknesses below) Attentive and very friendly staff Fun, unconventional menu ("Nothing on this Menu is Healthy") Decent beer selection on tap Nicely finished interior and a good atmosphere Great location in downtown Fullerton Weaknesses Expensive! - all items are priced at least 30% too high My $13 chili dog was served to me luke warm - if it had been served at the correct temperature, my $11 (yes, you read that correctly) mug of beer would have been there to put out the fire Personally, I like the whole sausage and funky appetizers theme, but there probably should be a burger and a couple of sandwiches on the menu so that it would appeal to a broader audience - unfortunately, in this economy, I am not sure that such a niche-y restaurant will be able to stay in business If I could, I would give Joe's a 3.5/5, but since that option is not available, I think it is most appropriate to leave it at a 3/5 for now. Went here Saturday for a friends bday. We had a large group and I would say they are not well organized for large parties. When I first got there and asked for a lemonade, it probably took a good twenty minutes to get that. The orders were all brought out at different times to different tables. People who ordered first got their food last. The food seem to sit up under the lamps for quite some time. More than one plate was cold. Didn't say anything because the wait time to get what you asked for would take forever. I wanted to ask for something else for my meal but couldn't get anyone's attention. Just came here for our first time and me and my Fiancé ordered the junk, the porky and the bbq pizza, everything was delicious, drinks were reasonably priced(better than most in this area) and the Bartender Danielle was so nice and treated us like family! she was under some major pressure when about 50 people cane in with "drinking for a cause" shirts came in and she was on top of her game handling all these people and still making sure we were doing great at the bar! I really liked their menu. It reminded me of carnival food, and I was super excited to try the fried PB&J. I ordered it with waffles instead of the bread, and it was really good! My friend, "Boss," and I shared the alligator sausage with tangy peppers and cilantro. It tasted good. You can't really tell from the texture that it's made from alligator. Nothing about it reeks of alligator. Same texture as regular chunky/chewy sausages. The flavor was good-- but I imagine the same ingredients on a regular sausage would taste as good. I was looking for something that's noticeably different in taste or texture versus a regular hot dog, I didn't get that. Nevertheless, the ingredients used to season the sausage was good. But ~$10 for the hot dog and fries and 1/4 slice of a pickle? Hm, I don't think I'll be coming back for the same ht dog. Maybe try another sausage variety? Anyhow, shoestring fries were good. For dessert, we had fried twinkies. You get two twinkies which are deep fried, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and strawberries in strawberry syrup. Terrible service and 100% non compliant when it comes to masks and covid safety. Employees not wearing masks and NOT ONE patron inside had a mask on as they stood shoulder to shoulder listening to a band (not sitting at spaced out tables either) the employee at the back alley door even question why i was wearing a mask as I reluctantly entered to use the restroom.. We went to Joe's for the first time to watch The American Wake. Parking was a short walk from a parking structure and it was no problem. The band was fantastic (but we already knew that). Joe even took a turn at the piano and was great. Food was okay. Nothing fantastic to report but it wasn't bad. My only complaint would have to be the service. Even though the wait staff was very pleasant, it was very hard to track a server down. Getting refills on our drinks was a little difficult because we could never get the servers attention. Bil especially .. he said it's spelled with one L so .. there you go *Simple menu, but with variety so the picky or indecisive. *Pricing is reasonable .. for me and two friends we shared an appetizer, meal, and dessert and even one alcoholic beverage and it was only about $40. *Large facility, we say in the front by the bar to watch the game, but there was a back patio in the back, a lot larger than the place appears from the front. *Seems to be a clean facility also, I didn't check the bathroom here, which I normally do, but the place seemed well taken care of Cons: **not for the healthy of eaters at all ... only go here if you are ready to eat greasy greasy fried food and feel horrible afterwards .. but in the best way possible .. full and happy! I was very excited to try this place. I have been wanting to go here for about 6 months, but I never go to Fullerton. I finally got the opportunity to check it out last weekend. It was 2pm on a Saturday and I wasn't hungry, but I couldn't pass it up since I was in the neighborhood. It is a very cool spot with very nice servers and chef. I sat at the bar and ordered the Bootlegger's Brewery's American Pale Ale and that was fantastic. I ordered the Rattlesnake and Rabbit hot dog (the reason I went, since rattlesnake is the only protein on the menu that I have never tried) and it was delicious. Burger crew meeting called to order on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 7:30pm (Sumana burger crawl). Members in attendance: Angela d., Sumana S., Trevor Y., Dennis K. In another country at the time: Wayne T. I. Ordering Everyone ordered the chorizo burger (($12) - 50/50 blend of homemade chorizo and ground beef, two fried eggs, imported Spanish ham, Pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo on a potato roll. Served with shoestring fries on the side. II. The burgers Burgers were pretty dry. They need more sauce or juice or moisture. It reminded us of the dryness of Slater's 50/50 patty. I think it's just what happens when you have a blended patty. The bun was good. We did not like the lettuce; it really diluted the burger. I think it was supposed to be on the potato roll, but it was served on an onion bun, which wasn't bad. There was also supposed to be ham, but I don't think I saw or tasted any. III. The fries/sides Fries were good. Nice and crunchy, thin. They were your classic shoe strings. They weren't seasoned so it was good that they came with ranch. IV. Miscellaneous They had the same chillness as Heroes, which makes sense because they're owned by the same people. IT was more of a bar and less restaurant and so had a lot of tvs and played game audio. They also had really great service. V. Value I ask the members how much they would pay for the burger they ate. We would pay anywhere between $3.50 to $8. So overpriced in our book, especially for what we got. VI. The verdict The ratings: 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, and 2.6. Just left a similar review for Roscoe's. We ended up at Joe's after getting turned away there too so let me explain... A friend and I ubered downtown for a kid free ladies night out. Ate at a late night dinner at a restaurant and then decided to go check out some other spots for a drink. Mind you I had a HUGE dinner so took the leftovers with me (shit cost enough and there was enough there for 3 more meals so best bet I took it with me!) Since we ubered we clearly did not have a car to put it into so I made sure it was boxed and bagged up for walking around. Also keep in mind my friend and I are 37, aka not obnoxious youngsters stumbling around, we are educated professional women looking for a kid free night to catch up with one another. After discovering we couldn't take leftovers into Roscoes (boxed up and in a tied bag!) we decided to go into Joes so they could get our business and were greeted with the same awkward response from the security guard that we couldn't take it in. Look, if I had brought a car I'd put it there, and clearly as a female I'm not leaving anything of mine unattended ever and also not leaving it somewhere to get snatched up by a homeless person. We didn't get a reason this time other than it was policy. Look, they're tied up in a bag and leftovers, I'm not eating them! And if I would have had a purse instead of a clutch, no one would have even known I had them. I get businesses not wanting to "lose money" from people bringing in outside food and not eating theirs, but you lost business of us buying drinks last night and all my business going forward. If this is your policy for lord knows what reason, then you (and the other establishments) should have a sign out front explaining it so your security guards don't have to awkwardly say something AFTER the fact. Either way Joes (and some others) apparently had this "policy" (meaning we couldn't even get a freakin drink in Fullerton so we ubered back home where bars could care less about your fried chicken in a box and happily had many drinks) and have now subsequently lost my business period (which I'm sure they could care less about, I'm not here tooting my own horn). Just heads up to any others out there who may want to eat late somewhere else and then enjoy some drinks after - don't carry your leftovers with you or carry a big purse! 5 stars for our server! I wish I got his name! :( Small selection of beers on tap, but they had what I was looking for so no complaints there! Lots of TVs, small inside with very cool wall decor; love the front end of the Chevy truck at the front, that's what drew us to come in in the first place. Came on a Friday night before it got busy and watched some hockey and enjoyed a few beers. Very inviting and friendly spot, I'll definitely return here for the service and atmosphere. read more

I rarely ever get this upset but I'm upset, pissed, livid. The bouncers tonight on Thursday night did not handle themselves well even if they were composed. They don't know how to communicate with deaf people, they decide to pick on hearing people to interpret for deaf people. I walked in tonight once and it was fine til I left after a few minutes and then I came back. I came back with a random can of alcohol they didn't want. They didn't see it til I was inside and they saw that it was from another bar. I gave up the beer of course for them to take away and throw. They didn't say I had to leave. That wasn't for another five minutes, then the bouncer did his whole "flashlight motion" thing, get out of here. You're done for the night. Meanwhile, my friend who was with me was shit faced, she was stumbling, and she was allowed to stay in. Doesn't make sense that they'd kick me out for a minor mistake. Maybe you guys should focus more on the people shooting heroin in the bathroom. Anyways, when he led me outside, he wanted to talk with me with these two other "interpreting students". He spoke to their faces directly not me and I asked why did I have to leave? After only five minutes. He said I appeared too drunk when I was only on my second drink in three four hours. I didn't get it then the interpreter told me this. word for word "that the manager had a lot of altercations with deaf people in the past and he just wanted the deaf people out quickly as possible even if there's a small problem." I'm like that's fucking discrimination. I was so upset. I just wanted to leave. I'm never coming back again. This place discriminates people with disabilities including our deafness. So if you're not deaf or anything like that, you're pretty much welcome here. Even if they have ASL nights, they definitely keep a closer eye on the deaf people because the bouncers and the management don't like them around. No respect to the deaf at all either. read more
