I'm getting ready to move 20 miles and I'm looking for a reliable moving company. This is definitely not the one. Also, I buy a lot of from estate sales and would like to have a mover that I can trust. I called this company to movers a 6 piece bedroom set, Spoke with Bill, I was quoted 380.00. 2 Men, and suppies. Everything was going well, 3 men arrived and did a great job. The home owner told me if I wanted to take the mattress I could. They were throwing it away. The mover in the room with me said they could put it on the truck but they had no mattress bag. I was told they would put it on a blanket on the truck floor. When we were ready to go the driver said he needed to make a few stops. I agreed the delivery could be a hour or two later. An hour and half later I get a text due to the mattress and extra items the price would be an extra 100.00. There was a mattress no other items. If I was told at the pickup location the mattress would be 100.00 extra I would have left it. Be up front in pricing. You scammed me for extra 100.00 but you lost my move with a bigger price tag. If you are looking for a moving company, keep looking. Not a honest company. read more

While the coordination of our move was smooth and the movers themselves did an excellent job professional, detailed, and deserving of the generous gratuity we provided our overall experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. After the move, we discovered we were overcharged by $1,385. Since September, we have reached out multiple times by phone and email to address the discrepancy. We reviewed the quote line by line and clearly demonstrated the overcharge, yet the company has refused to issue a refund or even acknowledge the error in a meaningful way. It's unfortunate, because the moving team on-site was outstanding. However, the owner and office staff have been unresponsive, unhelpful, and unwilling to resolve a clear billing mistake. Their lack of accountability has overshadowed what could have been a positive experience. Although Bill the salesman and schedule person was absolutely amazing. The actual moving crew was awesome. Jen the actual person who was in charge of damaged property was insulting. I paid $3000 to move my 70 year old disabled brother in law. 3rd move the workers discoverd the 65 inch was damaged. She would not return my calls for 2 months. The same tv was $328. I should have known something was going to be wrong when I was charged for TV moving boxes ($180 total) and no TV boxes were used in our move. When we settled in our new home and mounting TV's, we discovered that one of our TV screens were completely shattered and unusable. I contacted them about filing a claim and was sent a claim form to fill out and mail. I did not hear anything back from them so I sent them an email. All I got back was that "we never received it" go figure.... I then sent some follow up emails and got no response at all. I called and was again told that they never received my claim. I asked if I could email the claim with all the information since they mysteriously didn't get my claim. I got a "sure". I resent the claim to their email asking for at least an acknowledgement that it was received. No response. I will keep pushing to get reimbursed for our broken TV, as well as a refund for the $180 dollars for TV boxes that were not used. Had TV boxes been used, this probably could have been avoided. read more

Movers were good but if you think buying insurance will protect your investments think again. We paid for extra insurance and a high end TV was broken in the move and my claim has gone unaddressed for a year. After 8 months I finally got a response only to have been offered 1/3 of the value from my TV. When pushed for answers and ask for like model value replacement we again are met with silence. I can't express how much I hate this company. My experience has been horrible. Used the services on 7/17 the two movers who were in my home broke my tv that was on the wall which wasn't even to be touched by them. I called and spoke with Jennifer for a claim on 7/19 as as we currently stand no resolution. I've called numerous times and each phone call taken by Jennifer who states she's the only person I can speak with there is no above her she states shes going to call me back. Not once since 7/17 has she called as promised i always have to call her back. Gave an estimate of 2 weeks for a resolution after they received the claim form which I sent along with my receipt for my tv. Yet almost 2 months later the update I received is unideal. She states they will only pay $.30 yes 30 cent for every pound the property is worth so if my tv was 3lbs I'll receive $0.90 for my 55in vizio smart tv i paid $400 for less than a year ago. Again that only if they are gracious enough to even approve the claim. I feel so bamboozled. They spoke so friendly before my services. Was friendly and helpful when taking my money and now it's just the very opposite. This by far is the worse experience I've ever had. After meeting with Tom Calaghan, owner, and feeling he was honest and trustworthy, its been 3 months since our move and WOW WERE WE WRONG! The one thing that stood out is that Tom, when at our home, said, "we do not hire Chip and Nick", a play on words, stating that they hire responsible and trusting crews. WRONG. They sent a crew that complained the entire time they were at our house moving us. It was so bad, I had to leave the house because they made me so upset. We got to our new location and the crew they had at our destination was THE worst group of 3 men; I will say one guy was decent. One stayed in the truck the entire time and one barely worked. They ALL complained the entire time they were here once again; put boxes that were CLEARLY marked with their destination, in the wrong place time and time again. In our basement, they piled boxes and toys and crates and storage units IN ONE CORNER, to the point we could not even get NEAR any of it, until my husband saw it and yelled, STOP! He had to TELL them to put the boxes around the perimeter of the basement so we could actually GET to the boxes eventually!! As it was we were crawling over boxes to get to the ones in the corner!!! They also damaged our walls and brand new hand rail and when we pointed it out, they shrugged. I was told by the office manager, Jen, that we had up to NINE months after the move to make any claims for damages or losses. So after 3 months, we assessed everything we had gone through (I'm recovering from a broken ankle so it took me longer) and found we were missing a box with $400 worth of expensive pots and pans; they broke a storage cabinet where it is unusable; and the damages to our walls and handrail. Made the claim, per the office manager and WOWSA, we got the settlement letter today which I will include their reasons for denial!! I am just so shocked by their reasonings and misrepresentation that I just am laughing how ridiculous this is and how they get around be liable. "In the absence of notations confirming anything went missing while in transit, we cannot assume anything went missing in the van line's care. We must respectfully decline liability for the items claimed to be missing. Whether a loss s confirmed or not, we do run a trace on the items, during our trace nothing was located." Ok, How could I confirm anything was missing "during transit" since I had over 100 boxes to go through when I got to my destination? How did they know WHAT would be missing and how did they run a trace and KNOW that nothing was located? How did they know that one of their crew didn't steal the box that was clearly labeled, Kitchen/Pots and Pans? Next one: "In order for our office to consider a claim for property damage, it must ben oted at the time of delivery, in the prescence of the delivery crew and on the delivery paperwork" WE TOLD THE DELIVERY CREW THEY DAMAGED OUR WALLS AND SHOWED THEM THE DAMAGE TO WHICH THEY SAID, YOU REPORT THAT TO THE OFFICE MANAGER, WHICH I DID BEFORE I PAID THEM!! The office manager said, YOU HAVE 9 MONTHS TO REPORT ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES. So, do yourself a favor STAY AWAY FROM TOM CALAHAN AND WHEATON VAN LINES/MOVING SERVICES. They LIE and STEAL. No words to describe how terrible this company is. If you are looking for honesty, customer service, and ACCOUNTABILITY, do not use this company. After moving our household from IN (to their facility in IL) we paid over $640 per month to store the contents for over 24 months. When it was moved to GA (under the "umbrella" of Wheaton Movers) we had broken antique furniture items, a rare marble antique lamp BROKEN, missing glass tabletops, broken decorator mirrors, on and on. Dealing with Wheaton and Moving Services for claims was never- ending and a battle. Wheaton requested photos and an online form. Moving Services would only accept a hard copy claim. One was mailed. They said that they did not receive it. Another was mailed. Same thing. They said they never received it. Really? Bogus! Finally a certified letter was sent (with documented photos of the mailing on my end). That began a period of being ignored with no communication from Moving Seevices followed by a terse phone call with "Jennifer" who was rude. The owner (Tom Callaghan) had many (at least 10) opportunities to email me back and never did. Not once. Also never returned a phone call concerning our claims issues. Not once. He IGNORED us and our issues. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. We also paid $900 for insurance in the beginning. He never provided us with a copy of the policy...our bad. We trusted him in the beginning, but am now wondering where all that insurance money goes when he signs up customers. (Keeps his "pseudo office" open in Crown Point, IN with those $ possibly). I have the best experience with Moving Services Inc. out of Mokena, Illinois. The two movers were there on time .. they moved fast and there was no damage moving me out and no damage moving me in. I don"t remember the men's name but one has been with the omii oh any 25 years snd the other two years. They worked together to get the job done. I highly recommend Movers Service Inc. read more

DO NOT USE! This 'company' Stole an $800.00 elliptical exercise machine during our interstate move with them.

The owner Tom seemed trustworthy and honest. His quote was pretty darn close to what our final bill was. The scheduler was a really nice guy and I wish i could remember his name because he has been extremely helpful. The crew that moved us was polite and appeared to be very careful with our stuff, but that stopped when they unloaded at the new house (which was only 2 miles away. When i got to the new house, the boxes were piled to the ceiling and not placed in the rooms thst were clearly marked on ALL sides of each box. Boxes marked with LARGE signs marked FRAGILE on all sides, were on the BOTTOM of the cartons stacked to the ceiling. I am an overprotective packer ... using bubble wrap and packing paper for everything. Two glass items that have been in my family for generations were broken! They weren't worth anything monetary but had great sentimental value. They were packed extremely well and well-marked with those big FRAGILE signs. The day after our move, I was looking over the final bill and noticed we were charged $25 for a second tv. This was in the original quote, but when the movers got there we told them we were leaving that tv behind. I called the office ad Jen said she would tell accounting and they'd send a refund for $25. A month later, I called Jen back telling her we never received the check. She said she would check with acctg. I asked her to get to me about it and she sounded extremely perturbed that I was bothering her. Another month passes and still no check. I called the number to the scheduler who answered my call while he was on vacation in Florida. He apologized this had not been taking care yet and said he would text Jen and Tom the owner about this. Later that evening he called to adk if I had heard back from anyone. I had not, so he said he would call/text them again. Now, another month has gone by. Still have not received a call back or reimbursement. It's only $25 and I'm not going to be destitute without it, but it's the point that this company could care less about it's customer service. I'm extremely disappointed because Tom, the owner, did not seem to be the kind of guy to conduct business like this. And Jen in the office is of no help or value at all. For those wishing to understand whether to hire Wheaton World Wide Moving and in particular the subsidiary of MovingServices4U owned by Tom Callaghan, don't. I'm getting this out early in the review in case you do not want to read all of the full details. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND FIND A MOVING COMPANY ACTUALLY TRAINED IN MOVING BELONGINGS. In a nut shell the process looks like this: 1. You have Tom Callaghan come and evaluate how much of your house you are planning to move 2. After some negotiation, you come to a price you are happy with and sign on the dotted line 3. You will then go through scheduling the move and have the final moving date moved on you without ANY communication 4. You will never hear from Tom Callaghan or his group of "reliable" team members again even in the case of needing to speak to someone about a concern. If you are connected to a woman called Jenn, please hang up the phone and find another moving service as her ability to communicate is a severed skill 5. Your items may be delivered, but don't expect them to be delivered in the same condition as you left them 6. They will not send the right amount of people. One person per truck to unload is their model. Expect 4-5 hours per truck with one person After scoping a number of moving companies, we were presented with Wheaton World Wide Moving (operated by MovingServices4U) and as per the process, Tom Callaghan came to our house to review our belongings and give us an idea on what the moving experience and cost would be like. He came prepared with a folder of useless information and told us that he desperately wants to win our business as he is a local business struggling business. Pulling at our heart strings and noting that I wanted to get the move conducted within a certain price frame I made the incredibly now stupid decision of accepting his proposal and scheduled the move with him. He negated to divulge that the move wasn't formally operated by Wheaton World Wide moving, but instead is operated by his very shady own business of MovingServices4U. Once we had signed on the dotted line, that was the last time we heard from Tom even though there was countless calls, voicemails and emails that I had sent to him regarding the many concerns that we had. Not once, even to this day have we heard from Tom. The scheduling piece was incredibly unreliable. We were told one date, planned to move into our house on that date and was then told that the date that was promised is no longer something they can commit to. We moved into the house for one week with no furniture. Of course, that was inconvenient, but the issue that we didn't hear from them until the morning of the move threw us off. They told us they would be there by 2 PM ET. They arrived at 9 PM ET. Jenn who seems to be the office secretary was incompetent, rude and unable to even get scheduling correct. The one thing that her job description outlines and she couldn't get that right. When I called her, she couldn't give me a date and for a week we were fed lies and no one could own up to the mistake. She was and is hostile, rude and condescending. When matching her tone on the phone, I was called names and even told that they wouldn't deliver my items. If you have the delight of speaking with her, hang up and call back and hope for someone else. After being spoken to so rudely I was contacted by a customer care agent; Kay Anderson. Kay too began with listening to my concerns and even telling me that the contract with the committed move date was forged from Jenn. Kay emailed a copy of the original contract and this confirmed her accusation of the forgery. The team forged the move date due to their error in scheduling and wanted to cover their tracks. To make things worse after a move you are provided with a survey with the name of the coordinator you connected with. In this case ours was Jenn. Kay confirmed that Jenn had removed herself from being our coordinator knowing that I was going to provide a bad review of this company. Kay immediately put her back into the case file. That alone is unacceptable. Kay dropped helping us like a ton of bricks after she realized how many mistakes were happening. Equally as helpful as the rest of the Wheaton/MovingServices4U team. They brought two guys for two full trucks of things to be pulled off. We were told that they won't go through the checklist of boxes as that will add another 2 hours and they didn't have time to do that. After the first house and only a handful of boxes were taken off the truck and they had taken 2 smoke breaks already, they told me that if I want my belongings off the truck that I had better get to work. No insurance policy they started having me carry boxes off the truck. Of course, the inevitable happened and there was an injury sustained on the truck which is an entirely separate issue. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! This is some sort of referral business or dispatch service. This review is probably not even going to affect the business that caused damaged to my home. But if I can save someone else the headache Id feel somewhat better. Called this number in October to mover furniture from the entire main floor of my home to my garage as I am in the middle of remodeling my kitchen and refinishing my hardwood flooring. Once the remodeling was complete they were to return the furniture back inside. Upon arrival the crew immediately tell me the job was under bid which I later find out is common. Only 2 guys were sent. The guy in charge seemed nervous about moving almost everything. They proceed to move my couch down the to the tightest corner instead of taking it out the front. They stand my couch completely upright and end up breaking a ceiling light glass fixture.I went out after they left and found my antique dining room table with several gouge and scratches. So they end up completing the move the next day and ending up calling a more experienced guy in. I showed them the table. At this point they try to get me to pay for the second day which I said not until I get reimbursed for the damages. They give me a sob story about the guys not getting paid and we reluctantly give them some more money. ( I know, dumb) So after many emails (all of which contain no company name address etc)Still waiting for a reimbursement check. Please take the time to get recommendations from friends or family. If I could give a zero I would. We moved in November of 2018 and have been dealing with a claim ever since. I witnessed several of our glass items, including wedding presents, get dropped and broken during our move. Not only was the glass not swept up at the end of our driveway, but repeated calls, e-mails, and insurance claims have fallen on deaf ears. In addition, half a dozen pieces of furniture were scratched up or smashed due to complete apathy and carelessness. I don't believe I have ever written a review of a company before, but I don't want to see anyone else have their possessions destroyed. I furthermore don't want anyone else to have to explain to their young children, as I have, why part of their furniture is sitting unusable in a corner of their new room. I suppose in writing this, I hope they finally contact me back and try to make things right, but everything I have seen from this company thus far makes me believe they simply don't care about their customers at all. read more

Tom Callaghan was great to work with and gave me good advice on packing up my items and what to expect from the move. His crew in Chicago was great - friendly, fast, and took care of all of my boxes and furniture. Tom was great on communicating the specifics of the moving timetable, reassuring me when I questioned him on Stevens Worldwide, and in following up on his promises. Much like the other review from 5/26/18 stated, these guys contract other companies for your move, in my case it was Dell's Movers as well, and it was an absolute disaster. One of the movers wasn't doing anything as soon as he got off the truck, kept saying how sick he was and he wasn't supposed to be working that day. I called the moving company that morning moments after they arrived with my concerns and they did nothing about it. He eventually threw up all over the street and then took a nap in the truck for 3 hours. Then one of the trucks broke down in our driveway and it took two of the movers over an hour to repair it, thus they were not moving my stuff. Since they were about 3 hours over the estimated time and it was a Saturday night, they started moving frantically to get it done, and in the process damaged 3 of our door frames, 3 punctures to our drywall and scuff marks in a number of locations throughout the house, which is new construction. After several phone calls and emails they finally sent someone to repair the damage. After all of the unfortunate things that happened, they still charged me a few hundred over what was estimated and refuse to return calls or emails to at least refund the overcharge, it's really unfortunate. This job would have easily been done in the estimated time that the owner, Tom had provided in the estimate. Be careful if you hire this company, you don't know who they are going to send, and you'll probably end up paying more. read more

I hired this company to move me out of my house and into storage due to selling my home and having to wait till the house I purchased was available. The first crew they sent which was one of theirs was great. However when it came time to move from storage to my new home things got increasingly bad! They took the job then contracted it to another company. The company that came to move me was 3 hours late. I contracted 3 movers however after 1 hour the 3rd person left. Then one of the two movers left dragged his feet as they were getting paid by the hour. At one point I ended up helping the movers! Isn't that what I was paying them for? Once we started to unpack I realized that the movers made 3 huge scratches in my hardwood floor then they stole my box of liquor that contained over $500 of liquor! Dell's Movers was the other company. I called Bill to complain and he said he would tell the owner. It's been 2 weeks now and no one has reached out to me. I used them to move my aunt into assisted living and now that I have been treated unfairly and stolen from I will no longer use this co. BE CAREFUL!! read more
