It is a fraud company. Brought my I8 to replace engine splash shield. Paid $600 and found out that the shield was never replaced. The owner claimed that the technician made a mistake and replaced the wrong splash shield. Then he promised to replace the right part for free. Called him several times for part availability and the part was always not available from BMW. Tired of his lies and took the car to Irvine BWM. The part arrived the next day and the cost was $550, actually cheaper than charged by the crook company. read more

Ernie (the manager at this location) provides fantastic customer service and is such a fair and accommodating individual!! My brand new BMW required significant repairs after an accident and, to make matters worse, my car was only partially repaired when covid-19 lockdowns required all businesses to close. Despite the fact that the lockdowns delayed my repairs (through no fault of the caliber collision staff), Ernie always kept me abreast of new developments, responded promptly to all of my inquiries I had about the repair process, and always ensured he did everything possible to provide me the fairest possible price. I was paying out-of-pocket for these repairs, so the manner in which Ernie constantly worked to ensure I was not overcharged for my repairs was greatly appreciated. Caliber repaired my wife's new Rav4. I was the one who damaged it, so finding a shop to do primo work wasn't only a goal, it was a marital necessity! Thankfully Caliber is that primo shop. Like so many things in these Covid times, it didn't play out ideally. There was a manufacturer delay for two small non-critical pieces of the front grillwork. Caliber finished everything else on time & it looked great. She drove her car a couple weeks with the grill missing those two small parts, they called when the parts finally were in, her Rav looks new again, & I don't have to live in the doghouse anymore. Found a nail in my tire, they blamed me for having it there before I dropped it off even though no one ever brought it up at initial drop off, during the 7+ days they had it. An estimate on a shattered rear window for a Mini should not require a week of chasing of the adjustor and driving around with packing tape holding it on. I'll gladly drive out of my way for a serious shop worth the money I pay for insurance to cover this crap. BMW and Farmer's/21st Century should reconsider sending their customers here. As of today (2.5 weeks after the incident), my window problem has still not been solved and I am really suspicious of this shop's intentions on my car. My mistake was trying to get the estimate for almost a week from Jose G. and then almost handing them the keys to my car to fix it. I contacted 2 other CCs and they were far more helpful in 5 minutes than this shop in 2 weeks of run around. Nope, you've wasted enough of my time! read more

However, they avoided responsibility for the increased rental car costs. I asked Rent car cost for three months, but they did not take any responsibility. I had an excellent experience at Caliber Collision. My daughter was in an accident and the damage was on the side of my car. Luckily it was the other person's fault so their insurance paid for everything. The process with caliber was very easy. When the repairs were done my car looked like new! They also waxed it and that looked great too! Sergio was my service advisor and he was excellent also. Brought in my 2014 mini cooper countryman due to a little mishap with a friend and bumper. I couldn't be more pleased with this shop. They were friendly, fast and the quality of work if fantastic. Took my car in on Monday and by Thursday afternoon it was ready. They went above and beyond to communicate the status of my repair and even gave me a tiny bottle of touch up paint for personal use on any rock chips. RJ is wonderful. Strongly discourage anyone from using this shop. Caliber was recommended to me by my insurance company (21st Century). Needless to say, I will no longer be buying insurance from them. Took my car in to have the front bumper, left fender, and left headlamp replaced after an accident. I had set up an appointment to bring the car in. I get there and the front desk lady is unaware that I was coming in. Poor communication from the service rep to the front desk. For some reason this appointment took 45 min. All I had to do was drop off the car and sign three pieces of paper. I have no idea why this took so long. I guess they just like to waste their customers time even tho they are spending thousands of dollars with them. Repairs were delayed. Caliber told me they would cover the extra cost for my rental car. However, when I returned the rental vehicle they were unaware that Caliber would be covering the last few days of the cost. Again, poor communication on the part of the Caliber service rep. Finally got my car back. Everything seemed fine until two days later when my car won't start. The car and battery aren't even three years old. This leads me to believe Caliber drained out the battery during repairs. Or they have caused even more trouble by pinching a wire or made a bad connection on the new headlamp. I had even driven the car six hours on a short day trip the mountains (3 hours out and 3 hours back) so they battery should've had plenty of charge. Luckily the car did not die while I was on this trip. Not only that but now I need to get my car checked out and replace the battery before going on another mountain trip this weekend. Thanks a lot. One would think that after getting their car back from the shop it would be in working condition and yet here I am needing to get my car fixed again. Another job done poorly by Caliber Irvine. This type of poor customer experience and even poorer service are exactly the type of thing I try very hard to avoid. Especially when spending this amount of money. Never going back to this place or any Caliber location. read more

Again this is poor customer service. Why didn't I receive a call back from the manager like I was told or the mechanic. The ball is dropped and emailing your team will help how. Just train at a higher level and value your customer. Don't give excuses over and over. If you say you will call someone by a specific time or say the car will be determined a total loss at a specific time. All I know is this is last time I deal will this location and more than likely caliber collision. Once I pick up my left over belongings from my car that will be last time I set foot in this terrible establishment. Poor training starts on the top. Service Advisor Jose Gonzalez was super pleasant, always on top of things, and was thorough in setting expectations and explaining how the whole process would flow. The nice lady at the front desk, Cynthia, was never too busy to be courteous and was quick to get us in and out of there. Strongly discourage this body shop. I scratched my wheels and rear bumper, the diffuser part and went to an estimate. Theres one guy coming out and did a rough estimate 2000. Many add-ons which are completely unnecessary. Who is going to fix a tiny bit of scratch for 2000? And I went to another body shop and they provide better services and charged me only 500. I got in a little fender bender and I took it in to fix my rear bumper. I left a few days ago anticipating a week or more without my car. RJ, the lovely man who was helping me, texted me this morning and said my car was ready almost a week early! I came to pick up my car and I almost didn't recognize it! I gave this shop a second chance after they messed up the first time, but they messed it up even worse the second time. The first time, they repainted a bumper, but when the paint peeled off, they said they would not redo it. The next time, they accidentally drained my battery while my car was in the shop and tried to say it was my fault. they also forgot to repaint the part that they promised to do. Every time I went there I got stuck waiting in their waiting room for far longer than necessary (30-45 minutes), even after they called to say my car was ready to be picked up. Then I would drive home just to realize my windows did not work due to their error; a simple fix, but another tedious trip to their shop nonetheless. I had a miserable experience here and will not return. read more

Don't go here! They are totally backed up and rush the job. I had my BMW 330 painted here. They did a shoddy job. I'll list the problems I've had since: -Many bumps from dirt under the paint (they didn't clean it well first) -rear view mirror fell off (they replaced the windshield and didn't put it on correctly) -Windows no longer rolled up automatically - Passenger side mirror stopped being able to be adjusted -They got the wrong color for one of the trim pieces -they forgot to put the badge back on ("330Ci") -Left a huge grease smudge on the seat (ruined my pants!) -The window/door creaks when driving now - The paint looks like it was done in one huge coat (google "car paint orange peel" - my car looks textured instead of smooth!) And now the passenger side mirror fell off! They had to repaint this, and when they took it off they broke the tabs that keep the cover on. Overall, all the work they do is sub-par. They rush and break things. Go to a place that is BMW certified if you have a BMW. I shouldn't have listened to my auto insurance (they recommended these people, what the heck?!?!) read more

This place is unprofessional, I'm highly disappointed and frustrated. I was waiting for my back bumper to arrive. They called me and said that bumper arrived on Monday. I scheduled appointment for Friday. When I arrived here, they said that the bumper they ordered arrived damaged and that no one inspected the bumper until now. So I told them, if bumper arrived damaged on Monday, why didn't they call me to inform me of the situation and reschedule accordingly. He didn't know. I had to rearrange my whole day, take a day off work just for them! And on top of that, they told me the bumper did not arrive on Monday as they had previously said, but in fact arrived on Wednesday! Wtf!! So why did they call me and say bumper arrived on Monday in the first place? This makes no sense at all This lack of customer care is disgraceful. They put in another order for the part and they said it will arrive on Tuesday. I will keep updating my review and see how they remedy situation. Update: Tuesday came around and I never heard from them. I took my business to Fix Auto Tustin and they repaired it in one day. If I could give this place negative stars then I would. LOOKED GOOD, BUT LONG-TERM STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS & I'M OUT $$$$ ** UPDATED August 6, 2015 ** I've left my original review below so you can see that I started off quite positive. (And you'll note that I only write positive reviews - this is my ONLY negative review on Yelp.) As I mentioned, I came to Caliber because I'd been rear-ended on the freeway. The damage was sizable and the original repair seemed fine at first. The only hassle was the length of the repair which took over a month - so long, in fact, that the other driver's (the one responsible) insurance refused to pay for a portion of my rental car (claiming the repair went way over reasonable time). My insurance company (USAA - who sent me to Caliber was also involved) was also involved and Caliber agreed to help me resolve this with the other insurer. That never happened (after much work on my part) and to this day I'm out several hundred dollars in rental car expenses. But that is the least of my frustrations (sadly)... Over the next year I had several strange wear-patterns on my tires and had the car in (at my expense) for 2 alignments (figuring I'd hit some big pothole or something). Finally after I went thru a very expensive set of tires in a year, I found out that my rear wheel was so far out of spec that it could not be aligned. Caliber (again in conversations with USAA) agreed to fix the problem and to split the cost of new (and far less expensive tires). The car was in the shop for days. Problem with alignment is fixed, but I never saw a check for the tires (after numerous promises). I've sent copies of e-mails and receipts and all sorts of supporting documents to two managers to no avail. I finally gave up... I'm surprised that USAA sticks with Caliber. They are aware of my experience, but can't force Caliber to act. I'm most disappointed as my initial experience (delays aside) seemed good. And I suspect that if a repair is easy or tech is good, they do a reasonable job. But my experience of their follow-up customer care is horrendous. A "lifetime guarantee" is only as good as the word of the company and I think Caliber has little investment in long-term customer care. How I wish what I originally wrote was true... -- From Jan. 13, 2013 -- GREAT WORK BY OUTSTANDING PEOPLE The Short Version: My car (which I take very good care of) was rear-ended on the freeway and needed some significant repair - both cosmetic and structural. And I could not be more satisfied with Caliber's work. Even at close inspection, it's impossible to see what is new on the car and what is not. The pieces fit perfectly, the paint is matched flawlessly, and the car drives like new. They handled everything with my insurance company, were in constant communication, responded to calls immediately and accurately, and were very kind-hearted and warm in the midst of what is always a stressful experience (being in an accident). I've worked with other shops over the years, usually had a fine result and only one that was misery. But Caliber is absolutely the best, and they have me as a customer for life. read more

They even said I could bring my car in on Sunday Night and leave my car unlocked for them to work on it on Monday....umm are you crazy? So after 2 weeks of trying to get there I finally got a spot. Locations: Its tucked into a back corner and the sign isn't that visible so I drove past it the first time. But there isn't any major traffic so it is easy to just make a U-turn and get into their parking lot.....which has like 5 spots..... Customer Service: They were nice and helpful and kept me informed on the progress of my car. BUT I am giving them a 3 since the service person actually called and tried to talk me into giving them a higher rating... I gave them low rating since they didn't fully fix my car and think its unprofessional to call customers to "persuade" them to give a better rating! Work quality: So my Lexus IS 250 was in a fender bender and hit in the back passenger rim area. They fixed the bumper and rim and looked great....just one thing...they cleared all the warning lights in my car and after i drove off and got on the freeway my warning lights all popped back on. I took it to my dealer and they said my tire sensor was damaged from the accident and had to be replaced...shouldn't they have picked that up? So then I had to call the insurance company and make sure my dealership could fix the error they missed and didn't have a car for another 2 days... overall ...very troublesome Over all I don't think they I will bring my lexus back or tell any of my friends/family/coworkers to take it to this location either. semi-good customer service, but your car won't be fully fixed!! read more

I would rate this establishment 5 stars if it weren't for communication, which started out excellent, but did not finish well. The initial communication was not only verbal between me and the estimator, but via text as well. However, my car was not ready when promised, and when I needed it. I had to make a couple of phone calls before I got a response, and my car was not ready until about two days after it was promised. I would take my car back in the future, however I'm not sure how I would be treated after this review. Another point I did not like was their solicitation for a 5 star rating. If their service was 5 star "caliber", they would not need to solicit. I give 5 stars when it is warranted. Unfortunately, in this case, it is not. read more

This is an email I wrote to the manager Nicole. I have asked for the manager's email several times, but only just today was finally given it. It seems like every one in that whole office is out to be shady. Hi Nicole, My name is K****** K****** and I brought my car in for repairs through Farmers insurance in October of 2017. The bumper and a few other parts were replaced, but in the process they had to remove some manufacturer stock decals. These decals were placed on order by Caliber, and I was promised by Jose, that they would be in very soon and that he would even send "his decal guy" to my home to apply them so that I wouldn't have to bring the car back in. Farmer's insurance was charged for these, but they have yet to be applied to my car. I have called once every 2 weeks to speak to Jose on the status of these, who seems to never get my messages or call me back. I am sorry to be having to go over Jose's head like this, but this is completely unacceptable. The service and part have already been paid for, and it is completely ridiculous that Jose is avoiding my calls and has never given me an update. Shockingly enough, Jose called me back, just now while I was typing this email (only after I included in my message to him that small claims court would be my next step-- amazing!). The decals are at Caliber, have been for some time. When I asked him why I was never given a call back, he said he did not have a good answer for me, and could not tell me how long he has had the part in his possession. I will be bringing my car back in on Wednesday to be completed. When asked about the original offer of having someone come to my home to install, Jose informed me that his decal guy had passed away. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but that was sort of a strange answer coming from a large chain. I understand that things happen, people are out, and I am very sorry to hear of your company's loss. But it's also very strange that this one person, in the whole company, seems to have been the only person qualified to do this. Brought my 2011 Sienna after a rear end accident (AllState's preferred repair shop)...my service advisor, Matt H, was courteous / friendly. Really appreciate the awesome customer service especially when these are the things you hate to deal with (getting your car fixed after a car accident). Matt was very informative in what needed to be done with my Sienna. I received almost daily email updates and Matt called me every few days to provide a live update. The awesomeness in customer service was when I inquired about a bike hitch for my Sienna. Matt was great in getting me a quote for parts. Thank you Matt!! Collision said they could repair it and my car would be ready in a couple days. They also said that they call on Tuesdays and Thursdays to give you and update on your car and how the process is going. I never got that call but my car was ready when they said it would be. Overall I'm happy with the way my car looks but the estimate was off by about $200 dollars and I would not recommend coming to this body shop if you're in a rush. The time I went in to get my estimate, I was there for about 2 1/2 hours and there was only one other customer in the waiting room with me. When I dropped my car off for the repair, I was there for about an hour and went through the whole process of getting photos of the damage and milage all over again with a new person who wasn't familiar with any previous records I had from only a couple days earlier. When my car was finished they called me to come in at 4:30. I was there early and didn't recieve my car until 5:30, again it was not crowded. Everyone who works there was really nice, and there are refreshments in the waiting room. I was thrown off when one of the employees was acting unprofessionally to a superior and you could hear him yelling in the back office followed by other employees telling him to calm down. If you're pressed on time I definitely suggest another body shop, but if you're patient then this is a good fit and they are very affordable as well. read more
