Sadly I've had the opportunity to use Greensky on a couple of different occasions and I've always been impressed by the quality of their work. "Like it never happened" is the standard when it comes to collision repair, and I'd say these guys come very close. You can tell that they care about their work and take pride in its quality. We have used them for everything from a minor scrape to a significant collision repair and always walked away impressed. You can probably find some cheaper places, but I doubt you could save more than 10% or so. Greensky doesn't often source used parts that I can tell, but they do look for opportunities to repair rather than replace, and they think critically about the cosmetic and functional considerations of each repair decision. One definitely doesn't get the sense that they are "out to get you". All that said, I would still treat their initial quote as a minimum rather than a guarantee -- both times the final bill came in a little higher than estimated. I understand this is common in the industry. One thing that Greensky is not great about is the pre-sales process. The vibe I get is that they are eager to get to work, but they don't offer virtual estimates, there is a minimum spend for even an in person estimate, and they charge quite steeply for parking if you leave your car there. My overall takeaway is that they care about their work and would just like their customers to respect their craft and otherwise get out of the way. read more

Long story short: You will not find any place better than Greensky in OC. I will definitely go back and will happily recommend all my friends and family. The passenger side of my vehicle was hit by another car in a parking lot and became extremely scratched and dented. I noticed right after I parked in my garage (since it was dark at 7PM). The car was leased and had to be returned by the end of this month. I was originally looking to pay out of pocket, because I didn't want my premium to rise and I didn't understand my insurance benefits very well. However, the owner, Sky, patiently explained every single piece of my collision coverage policy with me (what it means, what it covers, what out of pocket vs. through insurance cost would be, etc.) and helped me to determine that going through insurance would be more beneficial. He was absolutely right! After I opened the claim with my insurance, he took care of everything else, including the inspection with my insurance company. This repair was THE MOST stress-free process that I have ever completed. Sky even made some recommendations for my new insurance policy that will maximize my benefits and ensure that I will save a lot of money in the long run. Prior to Greensky, I had received quotes from a few other body shops in the area. As a girl, they made me feel that I wouldn't know the difference between buffing a scratch or repairing a dented door. They rushed through the explanation and were dismissive of my questions. Unlike them, Sky was not condescending or belittling. He didn't make me feel stupid for having questions or not understanding how certain repairs work. During the initial consult, he got me an estimate of the total costs to repair. After, he took me outside to my car and showed me every single part that had to be removed, painted, or replaced that corresponded to the estimate. He patiently explained what to look for, what the differences were, and the alternatives that would decrease/ increase the price (respective to the quality of the repair, since he knew it was a lease). A few days after I dropped my car off, he sent me some photos and called me to let me know that there were some scratches on the bumper. Sky knew that the lease would be returned and wanted to see if I was aware of them. I knew that there were some scratches, but I wasn't aware of the extent of the scratches until he showed me them from a different angle. He gave me a very fair (and accurate) estimate over the phone. I'm extremely appreciative that he let me know and offered to repair those as well! It would have cost me a fortune at the dealership otherwise. My car was fixed in ~2 weeks and looked brand new. Sky also showed me some tire rim scratches that might get charged during the vehicle inspection and provided estimates of how much they usually charge. Since they're a brand specific rim, he explained that paying those fees would be cheaper than doing the repairs through him (again, after returning the lease, it's accurate and true). Sky also provided a complimentary service by removing some other scratches on my car. It was extremely kind of him to ensure that I am aware of everything and would not get blindsided later. I'm also extremely grateful that throughout the entire process, he never tried to "up-charge" or "up-sell" me; he was invested in providing fantastic service and being of genuine help. They're definitely knowledagable about mechanical issues, but not so good with customer service and not great with keeping it professional. I've brought my car here many times because I admired they were honest about the issues my car was facing and the cost it would have, but many times, even after scheduling an appointment with them, I would get pushed out of the queue and my car would stay and extra day or so. On top of that, the diagnosis came to my phone informally with a hunch of what the issue is and often times I would get more than I needed to hear without the mechanic having checked the issue. So I would hear the inflated problems and then inflated solutions and it left me wondering if my car would be safe to use or is unfixable. Sadly, my car broke down one day and I had it towed over there. It took so long just to get a diagnosis and even before that, they told me the repair would cost as much as the car itself. Being carless in socal with a infant is not easy, especially when I need to work, so I was sad about my car not being "fixable" without even a diagnosis. Eventually (after a full week) the mechanic got around to do a proper diagnosis and found that my pump had run out of gas and damaged the related parts. The replacement was about $1k and my car is running smoothly. Sadly I had already moved on to a used car in this terrible market based off this shop's suggestion. Also my car interior smelled like gasoline. They gave me a loyal customer discount, but I definitely didn't feel any treatment as to a loyal client. Most of the time, I often felt pushed out of their business schedule and I had to call in order to get status updates on my repairs because they failed to call back at the promised time. My boyfriend came to Sky for an estimate on a repair for his car. Sky was actually the second person we saw for a quote and we immediately knew we were going to do business with Sky based on his professionalism and knowledge. Sky gave us an estimate and right off the bat, he was honest that the price might change once they took off the bumper and were able to assess further damage to the body. A few days later, we received a call from Sky stating the price needed to be adjusted. Sky was able to accommodate us Sunday morning (when he is usually closed) to sign off on the new estimate and the repairs needed. From the first day we brought it in, the repairs took about two weeks. When we receive the car, we were extremely happy with the work Sky and his team did. Sky throughout the whole process was very easy going and great to work with. He was able to offer advice on dealing with insurance and he also helped change our car remote battery free of charge. I took my MBZ C350 on Thurs to see how much it will cost and how long it will take to replace the roof moldings. I made an appt. with Nolan, he suggested a couple of options...I decided to have him order the parts. Nolan called me the next day when the parts arrived to come in anytime to install it. When i got in, they took my car right in and installed it within 30 minutes I was done with the whole transaction....and my car looks new again. Price was reasonable. The customer service that Nolan gave was outstanding. Thank you. I definitely recommend them. Also, mention to them that you found them on Yelp and you'll get a discount. Scheduled an appointment for the next day for a scratch on my new Tesla, scratch is fairly cosmetic but deep enough that I do have concerns about rusting and contamination. Jang gave me a very honest assessment and approach, just from observing I could see the process in which they itemize the repair and the cost expectations. When I first got there, I wasn't super impressed as they seemed to just kinda casually be chatting with someone while I was waiting just to talk about what I needed done. When they got to me, they broke down the job, how much it would be for parts, labor, etc in full detail. I had my car towed to this Greensky after getting into a collision, I needed a new front bumper, fender, and radiator, and some suspension jobs are also needed. The owner Sky claimed my insurance for the repair but he added many other maintenance repairs without my approval. They argue that I did approve of the job. I ended up paying an additional $1700 that I didn't approve. (insurance did not cover the extra) I asked a few people who work in the same industry and found that in the Korean community, he is well-known for overcharging and making false claims. Also, they do not have actual engine mechanics, only paint mechanics, they will do the bodywork and send the car to other mechanics. Maybe hire mobile mechanics to finish. I would not have taken my car here if I knew his poor reputation. The worst was his attitude, very unprofessional and nasty attitude. A quick search on Yelp, I found Greensky Auto Collision with decent reviews. Greensky is located right next to Auto Clinic, where I took my car in before for service. As a result, I have passed by Greensky before. With good reviews on yelp, I decided to have my AAA tow truck tow to the location. The interior of Greensky is very modern and inviting. They have multiple car models on display and a lot of car magazine in the waiting area. Lost and confused, I talked to the company owner, Sky who is extremely helpful and patient to walk me through step by step to let me know what I had to do. He informed me about insurance policies, explained the parts and replacement of my car, and discussed the steps I had to take to deal with the insurance companies. Greensky not only is not only an auto collision center, but they also provide rental cars. Due to the accident, my car was non-drivable so I decided to get a rental car from Sky. The process to obtain the rental car was easy and smooth as well. As mentioned before, Sky is also very patient since he explained to me what was being done to repair my car. Being a car guy, this was definitely a great feeling to let me see the progress he and his team were making on my car. My Mercedes was in the shop for about 3 weeks, which it was the correct estimated timeline that Sky told me. Very accurate! Overall, my experience at Greensky was quite positive. This is a year late because that's the kind of person I am, but I've been thinking about this review since I first met the people at Greensky. I got into a fender bender in a parking lot last year that still feels like one of the stupider things I've ever done. I was mortified and embarrassed and worried for this newer car I had. Luckily the people at Greensky took my anxious self and my banged up car and worked absolute wonders. It took about a month to get my car fully fixed up due to some of the internal damage to the engine (some fender bender), but they got my car back to pristine, beautiful condition. They were super nice about the whole situation, and kept me updated frequently on new time frames or parts needed or current states of my car.
