My 2023 Lexus was rear-ended, and I was recommended this specific shop by two Lexus dealerships in the area. I was worried because it's still a new car with very low miles, and we all know how insurance will still fight you tooth-and-nail to skimp out on repairs. For context, I issued a claim with the at-fault party's insurance. After speaking to their reps a few times over the phone and coming in for a visual inspection, I was assured that they would handle everything as far as insurance, and no matter what I would be satisfied with OEM replacement parts. Dropped it off before the new year, and I got it back in under 2 weeks. Mayra stayed in communication with me for each step of the process, and sent me update emails to ensure I knew where the progress was going. She's honestly a rockstar, and it was just incredibly nice interacting with her. Jose was the one who gave me the initial quotes, and was the one who managed the repairs. Despite the insurance only wanting to cover some parts using aftermarket product, Jose assured me that my car was fully repaired with Lexus OEM products. And seeing as they are Lexus certified and work with several Lexus dealerships around SoCal, I felt very comfortable. On pickup day, I noticed some minor issues and Jose was very understanding and quickly worked to solve them while I waited inside the lounge for a few minutes. He was very understanding with my concerns and accommodated me until I was fully satisfied. The finished product resulted in me, my household, and some friends not being able to tell it was ever in an accident, by visuals or feel. Since I was not the one paying, I have a very biased view on the value of this repair. But given how much stress they took off my shoulders by directly dealing with the third-party insurance, the quality of the finished product, consistent line of communication, ensuring my parts were OEM with no hassle, and accommodation with smaller details, I have to admit that I am extremely satisfied and would easily recommend this shop for Lexus repairs given similar circumstances to mine. read more

I came in last week to get an estimate on my BMW at ACG Collision Center in Santa Ana. Jose started the process, but then handed me off to someone named Mayra. She gave me the estimate, then took me outside and suggested that if I wanted to pay cash out-of-pocket, I should let her know. The whole situation felt very unprofessional and sketchy. Beware of this body shop. I was involved in an accident and found this body shop which is Tesla certified. It took almost 4 months to repair the car and the excuse was that parts from Tesla is on back order. Finally when the car was all repaired, they delivered the car to my house. After I inspected the car, I found out so many faults, large gaps between the door and the body, the hood was not aligned, the trunk would not open, the speaker by the window was loose, the windshield was not replaced and many other problems. I took the car back and Carlos promised to fix them all in one day and offered a rental car, made an appointment and took the car back there, Carlos did not arrange for rental car and offered an Uber. it took again almost 3 weeks to repair, meanwhile no phone calls, no emails. Finally we went there to pick up the car and still not to our satisfaction and found more problem and he said this is the best they can do and nothing can be done except fixing the plastic inside the front hood. read more

My model 3 performance was involved in what seemed to be a minor rear end collision. After searching far and wide for a good and reliable shop in the orange county area, I selected ACG after many testimonies from other close friends that have worked with them in the past. Auto Collision Group and the team in Santa Ana took fantastic care of me, and the vehicle. After further evaluation, it was noted that the frame sustained some movement, the quarter panel was damaged, the trunk, bumper, and under plastics we're all going to need to be replaced. Carlos, Gabriel, and all other individuals I spoke with where incredibly responsive, caring, and compassionate towards any concerns I had. Carlos Lara was in constant contact with me, providing updates, pictures, and peace of mind in regards to my repair. There is a reason why you pull up to ACG, and the parking lot is full of other Tesla vehicles. This place knows how to make your car like new, and provide excellent service while doing so. The panels that had to be repainted had a fantastic finish, blending was superb, there's no evidence that the rear end of the vehicle was ever involved in a serious freeway collision. I took my car to Auto Collision Group Santa Ana after I was rear ended. The service advisor that I dealt with was Martin Cruz. Mr. Cruz was excellent and was very communicative with me. He sent me photos and updates regularly on the status of my repair. He went out of his way and helped me fix a dent that I caused when a ladder fell on my car months prior at no charge. The other parties insurance didn't want to pay all the repairs and Mr. Cruz advocated that all the repairs were necessary and they were eventually approved by their insurance. This caused a delay in my car getting finished but it was worth the wait as my car was left just as I picked it up brand new out of the dealership. Accident was in Jan 2022. It is now July 2022. Car was returned to me in April without a working autopilot. Carlos told me it will arrive on 6/29 to replace it so I waited. it has been 4 weeks since they received it and Carlos seems to be always busy every time I call to bring in my car. Looks like I have to resort to legal action as not only my autopilot does not work, my blinkers, high beams also do not work and Carlos simply dismissed them as pre-existing. If your insurance sends you here my advice is hire an accident attorney because you will be on a long journey of disappointment. read more

I scraped my mirror and fender in a parking garage (low speed, cosmetic damage) and decided to have body work performed at ACG after they were recommended by Tesla's Costa Mesa service center. I am astounded that this shop is recommended by the Tesla team. The entire process was unprofessional and the shop was completely uncommunicative while my car was in their possession for 29 days. 02/08/22: I dropped car off at shop, and the estimator set an expectation that repair would take 2-3 weeks. He explained that there were shipping delays for parts, which seemed reasonable given the state of supply chain issues around the world. I was promised consistent updates throughout the process, and I trusted this would happen. 02/18/22: No update received from shop at this point, and since the vehicle was already there for a week and a half (and the estimate was 2-3 weeks), I decided to call them. After a bit of audible panic from the receptionist, she conveyed that there is a software issue "at Tesla" that meant estimates ACG was submitting weren't going through, but that they would try again this day and let me know if there were any issues. It definitely seemed odd given that they work on so many Teslas that they were not on top of the issue, but I didn't press it. 02/21/22: 13 days after dropping off my vehicle, I received the first and only communication I ever got from ACG. They sent a text stating they were waiting on an estimate approval from Tesla Insurance. I called my adjuster to see why there was a delay, and he informed me that he didn't have an estimate from ACG. I mentioned the software issue, and he said he wasn't sure what they were talking about and that as a Tesla approved partner, they were expected to know the standard procedures for submitting estimates to them. I called the shop again, and they changed their tone and said they "were doing me a favor" because they ordered parts already even though estimate was not approved. The estimate wasn't approved because they never submitted it, so this was frustrating. They said they would submit again. 02/24/22: After several more calls with my adjuster and with ACG, I was able to confirm the estimate was finally submitted and approved. ACG informed me that they "probably had the parts in stock" and would be able to "expedite the repairs." Of course this did not occur. 03/03/22: No updates from shop at this point, so I called again. They said parts arrived and car would be ready "within 2 weeks." Vehicle had been in their possession for 23 days as of this date. I informed them I would run out of rental car days as Tesla Insurance only pays for 30 days of rental coverage. 03/08/22: I called again as they hadn't provided any updates on what to do as I was running out of rental days, and they said the vehicle was on track for a 03/09/22 pickup and that I would receive a call the next morning. 03/9/22: As of 2 PM this day, ACG provided no update. I called again, and the same receptionist I had spoken with the previous day left herself a note and promised to call me back by 4 PM and was apologetic for how awful the communication had been. I did finally receive a call back and confirmation that my car would be ready for pickup before close of business. It took 29 days for a fender and mirror to be replaced, and though I appreciate there may have been parts delays, what sounds likelier is that they are taking on too much work and have no time management / project management skills. There was a near total lack of communication during this entire process, which is a bare minimum expectation. It seems the common denominator here is Matthew McCarty, the estimator who managed my case. Nearly every negative review on this page mentions him by name. First off I saved all of my paperwork if someone needs to message me for proof of my story. I took my Tesla with a trunk misalignment in for an estimate and was told a quarter of the car needed to be taken off and replaced. They quoted me at almost $10k for the repairs. We felt like this was something that should have been covered under warranty but thought the repair wouldn't be too pricey so we were going to pay out of pocket. As such I was pretty upset about the 10k estimate on a brand new car so I drove to Tesla to discuss the situation. They confirmed ACG's estimate seemed inaccurate and overpriced and suggested I take it to another shop for a second opinion. That I did, and the second shop's estimate was (no joking) $345, quite the discrepancy! The whole time I was at ACG things felt shady and like they weren't being honest with me. They told me all of the repairs in their estimate would be the only way to get the car looking good again. As such, I waited until the shop we ended up using finished the repair so I could make sure whether or not this was the case. ACG was wrong. The $345 has our car looking like new and it was done for 1% of the cost ACG wanted to charge. I feel like I needed to share this so no one else is taken advantage of. I took my vehicle here for repair on rear end damage. Initial repair was not complete because there was a parts availably issue. When the parts came in, they didn't even call me. I essentially took my car here 4 times after the initial repair. The car "always came back with new problems". This is the worst experience I ever had in a repair job. The guys in the office are nice, great and they try but the repair work in the garage is hugely lacking. I will never ever go back nor would I recommend others. I picked up my car last week and I would rather go through Tesla to fix the new problem. Notice the picture, this is a rear end job and the car came back with a crack by the driver door window. Be prepared to have your car in there for over a month at the very least. Afterwards I had to take it back for numerous issues. From the trunk light no longer working to missing screws in the bumper to the trunk lining hanging out. And of course, most of the issues were passed off as oh that's the way the car came in. The worst one was there was a horrible chattering vibrating sound coming from the rear. They said it was normal after multiple visits back. (Probably took it back at least 6 or more times). Tesla referred me to this body shop to get my model Y fixed. I needed to have the bumper replaced and some paint touch up and it's been almost 3 months and i still don't know when I can pick up my car. Every time I called I get the run around and that the case manager would get back to me. And every time there's a delay and it won't be ready for another couple of weeks. They told me car is already fixed and just need to be painted. This was 3 weeks ago and now it has to be assembled and it will take another 10 days. Needlessly this is very frustrating and the case manager Matt is either incompetent or not telling the truth. How long does it take for fix a bumper and some paint touch up? Carlos was the tech that was on my case and he did absolutely everything I asked him to do, such as ordering certain parts for my car or redoing any paint jobs. He always delivered.
