I had lunch here today and it was so delicious! They have a lot of options whether you are Vegan, Gluten Free, or even Low carb/keto. This was my first time here and everything was so fresh and delicious. I got the Clean N Lean bowl with veggies over spaghetti squash and loved it. Ever since COVID-19, or Coronavirus however you see it, the service is as slow as it can get with only two chefs (at most, although, last time I was there, I only saw one.) I sincerely hope Ciccio's proves me wrong and focus on service once Covid 19 is over. I will only hesitantly return to Ciccio's if a friend insists on going there, but I will always mention the facts: the woman I spoke with, when I asked her about my order, was extremely busy looking. The man who appeared running the place listed the names belonging to the bags of food before me, on the table, and not my name or my brother-in-law's name showed up. Either something was screwy with the application my brother-in-law used, or they deliberately left me out of an order I took a lot of time, driving out and picking it up. The kind woman asked me what I ordered, and I told her "Three bowls ordered by my brother-in-law, Ted Dragoo." "I will check whether an order like that is still being prepared," she said, and then, she told me that no order like that was ever ordered. She kindly offered to give me those meals for free, and I said "it was not necessary..." So, I returned home, missing some of my favorite food, sadly. read more

Can we have a moment of silence for the loss of one of Riverview's 3 good restaurants? My husband and I LOVED this restaurant only to find they just changed their menu and removed all of our favorite dishes. Why not remove one of the 5 Spanish style bowls? Instead they removed the buffalo chicken bowl and southwest bowls which we live for and get once a week. They also changed the bases to the bowls so you can only get a "brown rice blend" which includes quinoa and removed the warm noodles with cold noodles. I don't mind quinoa once in a while but it's not a very good pairing with some of the bowls and most people don't want cold noodles with their hot food. The kale also now has some mint blend to it... so sad! I'm all for change but not when it's for the worst! Bring back the good stuff, Ciccios! You're breaking my heart! read more

The food was good and the smell of fresh baked cookies was AMAZING!!! I ordered, for my lunch, the SPIRCY BRAZILIAN! I was quite excited about the name and the description. The Spicy Brazilian has Blackened chopped chicken, black beans, avocado, corn, cheddar cheese, sour cream, crisp lettuce and choice of dipping sauce. For the dipping sauce I ordered the salsa and Wasabi aioli. The food was fresh and the flavor was right. The wasabi aioli was undesirable to me but the salsa was good. I asked for a side of hot sauce and they brought me large ramekin of it. The hot sauce was really good. I did notice a problem with my blackened chicken. About half of the pieces of chicken seemed really dry. When biting into the chicken piece it would break apart into stringy like characteristics. It was if the chicken was overcooked or was dried out from the blackened rub. The rub tasted good but this chicken texture was less then desirable. Since it was our first visit we got a free cookie. The cookie was ok.... Could use a bit more sugar to balance out the semisweet chocolate morsels on the top of it. Ordering was hard because there were a lot of choices and a lot of reading to do. The cashiers helped us make our decisions and through the ordering process. They have regular self serve water and also cucumber water at the front. The daily happy hour specials seem reasonable but their Tuesday specials seem to be where it is at. I will give it another shot and try something else this time. read more

This was a pleasant start to the Sunday. The drink selection was amazing, the food selection was even better, and the service from the staff was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!! From the moment we walked into the establishment I was truly impressed. They asked where we wanted to sit and checked up on us constantly even though we were outside. Our server was friendly and gave us a complete breakdown of the food menu and drinks available. Usually severs always lead with the most expensive option but she gave honest opinions which is something I truly appreciate. We have tried 4 different bowls from the new menu (Lean and Clean, Gigante, Ole Tuna Poke, Asian Persuasion) and we only like the Lean and Clean so far. Came to Ciccio Cali for brunch with my family after my mother-in-law raved about it all weekend. They had a nice brunch menu with lots of options, and everything is clearly marked if it's gluten- or dairy-free, which is nice. The atmosphere is wonderful; I loved the decor, though the TVs seemed out of place. Everyone ordered some type of bowl (their signature item) except for me; I opted for the San Fran Pretzel French Toast (see photos). I do not recommend this dish. The menu described it as "egg battered soft pretzel french toast, stuffed with sweet cream cheese and topped with whipped cream and strawberries." (No side dish included; had to order some protein separately.) What I got was an actual pretzel (NOT egg-battered pretzel French TOAST), the inside of which was stuffed with a yummy cream cheesy substance. It was not topped with strawberries; rather one strawberry had been sliced into several slivers and placed around the pretzel. There was maybe a pinch of powdered sugar, and there was no whipped cream. (Upon seeing my plate after it was served, the waitress took it back to the kitchen and returned it with a pile of whipped cream, but this error should have been caught before the food left the kitchen.) The pretzel did taste good, but I highly doubt it is made fresh onsite. The pretzel was perfectly folded and stuffed, with no leaks; I would expect a freshly made and stuffed pretzel to show some signs of imperfection. So either Ciccio has mastered the quick-serve stuffed pretzel, or they are not making it themselves. While the pretzel was good, I was so disappointed because it really is not worth the $8 or so that it costs. A frozen pretzel, one to two strawberries, a bit of powdered sugar, and some whipped cream---for that price, you should go with one of their bowls instead. I know $8 isn't THAT much, but I would have expected to pay less for this amount of food/caliber of dish. (Sidebar: The Ciccio Restaurant Group serves this exact same dish at their restaurant "The Lodge," but it is named the NYC Pretzel French Toast. The description is the same; I wonder if they use more strawberries at this location...) Everyone else enjoyed their meals, though my fiance complained that his Benny bowl was dry and could have used some more Hollandaise sauce. The staff is very friendly, and the manager was present, making the rounds to check on customers. Our waitress was either very dumb or just hungover, but she was nice and attentive nonetheless. I would like to go back and try Ciccio for lunch or dinner, because I think that is more their strong suit. If I go back for breakfast, I will try their pancakes next time. They are huge and are somehow cheaper than the pretzel deal. read more

Just ordered through door dash and unfortunately the meals we ordered came without any protein. Tried to reach a manager so we could hopefully fix our meals and personally pick up a new order but couldn't reach anyone. We spoke to 2 different employees. The first had us on hold until the phone redialed. The second explained they did everything right on their end. At this point I'm not sure why the phone wasn't handed over to a manager. Had we simply been able to speak with a manager instead of having to explain twice what went wrong in this situation to 2 different employees, this would have been settled. I'm sure orders are not always perfect but If this is their best way to "fix" errors than I'll happily choose any one of the other nearby restaurants to go to. read more

Taco Tuesday!!!! Tacos, chips and salsa, Sangria, and did I mention tacos? $2.00 tacos at that! Oh yeah, the sangria is on special as well as you can see from the photo. You can choose several different tacos and they all are delish! My faves are the Gigante and the Hot and Crunchy Tuna. They now even have a DJ there on Tuesday mixing up some great tunes. We ordered two of the Rio Burritos from this location and it's supposed to come with guacamole. Neither one had guacamole and the burrito was mostly rice, barely any corn, and the meat was all the way at one end. As you can imagine, they were both very dry. I'm assuming they had run out of guacamole. No one called us after we ordered to let us know they were out of one of the ingredients and they did not add anything extra to our order to make up for not having guacamole (pico or more salsa would've been appreciated). This is not the first time I have ordered from Cali and not been told that they were out of a topping. I ordered the Brazilian bowl from the one in New Tampa and was not told that they were out of the crispy jalapeños until I later called to ask where they were. They are my favorite pet of the dish. I really like the quality of the food at these restaurants. I've been to all of the sister restaurants, including Better Byrd, owned by the company, but the customer service and attention to detail is lacking and just upping the game on that could make them a place that I want to eat all the time. Instead, I feel like I never know what I'm going to get or if I'm going to get what I paid for. Update: We are over-joyed! We LOVE Ciccio's and Better Byrd in St. Pete when we can get over there. I made a comment on social media about a missing topping from our delivery order and Tim Delaney from Ciccio took action to correct the problem and make it right! He wanted to send us a gift card for the order that was wrong and then another one to make it up to us. I really appreciate this level of customer service and it's definitely a quality I look for in companies I support. I thanked him for taking action and making it right and let him know that it would be greatly appreciated since I just gave birth to my husband and I's first child and having quality prepared foods would be lovely. He went a step further and sent us a care package at the hospital along with the gift cards he already offered! WOW! We haven't been able to have family and friends at the hospital due to COVID-19 protocols and can't really leave the room except to go to the hallway so having support from our local community is such a joy! Cool location! Great (yet slow) service. The Cali Club wrap w/no bacon was DELICIOUS!!! However, the fries that I ordered with it were gross. Today was my first time dining in at this location, however, I have ordered their catering for a party a few years ago. The outside is very inviting. They have a fully covered patio with plenty of seating. We had our dogs with us and they offered a doggy bowl of water. There is plenty of parking and it is in a cute shopping center with other small businesses. Inside they had a d.j. (It was a Saturday so perhaps they offer this every weekend??) As for the food-They have unique combo "Cali bowls" or "create your own bowls." With each bowl they offer brown or yellow rice, spaghetti squash, noodles, quinoa, and a few other things.They also have burgers, wraps, pizza, plenty of kid friendly dishes and gluten free options. I have had them several times before and know what I like. Today I had the Napa Bleu bowl with spaghetti squash and let me say, it was an 11 on a 1-10 scale. So delicious! I was full halfway through but it was so good I just kept stuffing my face until it was gone. It's been hours now since we left and I am still thinking about how good it was and when I am going to go back for more!! read more
