Came here on a Friday night around 7 pm to celebrate a friend's birthday with a girls' dinner, and it ended up being such a perfect choice. Even though they do not take reservations, we were seated pretty quickly, which was a pleasant surprise for a busy Friday evening. The restaurant itself is adorable and feels like a charming little house that has been transformed into an intimate Italian spot. There is an open kitchen, which adds to the experience, and the space strikes a really nice balance between elevated and genuinely warm. It feels like true dining in the heart of Reno, thoughtful and cozy without feeling pretentious. We ordered a variety of dishes to share and honestly loved everything. The pickled seasonal vegetables were bright and refreshing and a great way to start the meal. The meatballs were tender and comforting, the suppli were crispy and rich, and the fried seafood was light and well executed without being greasy. We also shared the bruschetta, which was simple, fresh, and nicely balanced. For mains, we had the gnocchi al pesto and the rigatoni with beef ragu. The gnocchi was soft and pillowy with a vibrant, fresh pesto, and the beef ragu was deeply flavorful and hearty without being heavy. Both dishes felt well thought out and satisfying. We ended the night with the crème brûlée, which was the perfect birthday dessert. The custard was creamy with a beautifully caramelized top and just the right amount of sweetness. What really stood out was how the meal encouraged you to slow down and enjoy the moment. This is the kind of place where you take your time, engage in conversation, and savor each course. A charming space that's conveniently located for me that I wanted to like. Service was good but slightly inattentive for the price point. Sadly the food was inconsistent and definitely disappointing for the price. As a side note, in multiple visits I've found the majority of their plates and serving dishes to be chipped, cracked, or have glaze that's missing in spots. So much so that I have to wonder if it's an intentional design choice. I always thought plates like that were considered unsanitary, but maybe standards have changed since I took food safety training. read more

I would probably give a 3.5 but I'll round up because I don't think a 3 is justified. This was my first time here, as well as the rest of our group. We wanted to try a new restaurant to celebrate our yelp elite badges for the year, as we are all elites. Our group was 5. The parking was hard which is not a fault of the restaurant, however does dictate my opinion if I would likely be back. Unfortunately with so many great dining options in town, it does make it hard to want to go somewhere if it takes 15 minutes just to find a parking spot. There was some paid parking nearby though! The restaurant was so cute. 5/5 for vibes. Gorgeous! I was the last to arrive and all of my table already had their drinks but it took forever for the waitress to come back and get my drink order. which was a testament to our service the rest of the night - very slow. At first the restaurant was pretty full so it was more understandable but by the end of the night we were close to the only table left but our service did not improve. I ordered the pesto gnocchi which although was delicious, was such a small portion. Everyone else at my table had a much bigger portion for their meal. I left still feeling hungry and almost stopped at a drive through on my way home. We also had bread and butter and fried dough as apps. The butter was so delicious, definitely stood out for our dinner. However the bread was very boring and didn't come with much. Just seemed like normal white bread. For the equality of the bread, I was surprised that the bread wasn't free with dinner. I would expect more for bread you have to purchase. We ordered cannolis for dessert but did not get a free one for the birthday girl which I was surprised because they did ask if we were celebrating anything. I order the Kabocha Squash Ravioli, the Supplì, Caesar Salad and Cannoli's! Wow! The Kobocha was out of this world! So flavorful and wanted more after I ate it! Pairing it with the wine was perfect too. I love the feel of the restaurant. It made our date cozy and romantic, which was what I was hoping for. The service was excellent. The staff was nice but we were not checked for very long periods of time. I enjoyed my limoncello martini which was basically a lemon drop. We ordered some bread and butter which was so tiny but I will say their sage butter was amazing. I ordered the squid ink spaghetti and I honestly wasn't impressed. The noodles were not cooked all the way so they were kind of hard. For the price, I can't say 3 pieces of shrimp and 2 pieces of small scallops was worth it. The flavor was nice and light though. The cannoli order was so tiny and also not worth the price. They were okay. For a cutesy atmosphere dinner, it's a good spot but I can't justify the price for what you get unfortunately. We had a girls night here because none of us had ever been! Street parking can be hard to find, especially in the evenings when nearby businesses are busy with the dinner crowd. The place is quite small but we still got a table around 7pm without a wait. Our group had 5 but they don't reservations for groups under 8. Cocktails are actually cheaper than a glass of wine here which I found surprising. They were out of mint for a Hugo Spritz so I got an Aperol Spritz instead which was nice! However, it took longer than expected to get our drinks. We ordered a few apps, the bread + butter and the fried dough with truffle Parmesan. The butter stole the show--you can clearly taste the fresh sage! I got the squid ink spaghetti for my meal. Portion size was large but there were only about 3 shrimp (tail still on) and 2 scallops which didn't seem like much seafood to me. The pasta was a little more firm than I would have liked but the flavors were good. I felt like the lemon zest was more noticeable than the seafood flavor itself. They make the pasta fresh in-house each day and you can tell it is well-made. I'm glad I got this entree because some of the others were on the smaller side. My friend was celebrating a birthday and we got some small cannoli to celebrate; I was surprised they didn't give the birthday girl hers for free but they did sing to her which was nice. The chef came out to check in with us towards the end, something we really appreciated it since I'm sure he was quite busy. The service from our waitress could've been better, it felt like we were waiting around for a while at certain times--most noticeably for drinks at the start and the check at the end. We weren't in any hurry since it was girls night but we did spend over two hours here which easily could've been closer to an hour and a half if service was faster. There were a few things that could have been improved but I still enjoyed my first time dining here! read more

Really enjoyed my dinner at this long-time Midtown gem! I've walked by it countless times, and finally got to try it out. They do not accept reservations unless your party is 8 or more, so I do suggest getting there early. Our party of two arrived a little before 6 on a Friday, and while there weren't any tables available, we were about to grab the two open seats at the bar. The bartender told us it was only her second day, but she killed it! All the staff members that I observed and encountered were excellent. The food was AMAZING. You can tell the pasta is made in house, and I appreciate the rotating menu. It feels like you're in someone's home, it's quite cozy. We were so tempted to just leave but with it being a Friday evening and figured other places would have a wait time we'd just stick it out and hoped our food would arrive soon. I ordered the lasagna, my husband ordered the chicken dinner and we ordered butter pasta for our daughter and while the food tasted okay it certainly was not worth waiting an hour for. They did take the kids pasta off our tab to try and make up for the wait but unfortunately for me that's not sufficient. I would have appreciated them at least bring our table some complementary bread and butter while waiting and giving us a heads up about the wait time upon being seated, we would have probably ordered an appetizer to hold us over. read more

I went with a 5 person group on a Wednesday and didn't have to make reservations. If you're going with a larger group, I suggest you call ahead because the space is small and intimate. They set up a beautiful table for the group and were able to seat us right away. The menu is simple but effective and this makes it easy to choose. Don't skip the bread and sage butter. What a phenomenal night. To begin we were seated in a cozy corner at a wonderful table with fresh flowers. The sound was so rich and delightful with exceptional music. My husband got an IPA and I got their frosted pear drink followed by the Italian Margareta. Both were delicious. I should preface by saying, I've been a vegan for ten years and tonight was the night I quit being vegan. To start we got both the fried bread and the bread + salted butter. Both arrived warm and delish. The fried bread had truffle oil and my husband was hoping for a sauce which he later got with our other appetizer. The fresh bread and salted herb butter was absolutely stunning. For starters we got the special friend mushrooms in a dill sauce which.....stop the press was hands down one of the best appetizers we've ever had. We also ordered the 3 Suppli which came out super warm, and when I cut into it, I was tickled pink by the burst of warm fresh cheese that oozed out. It came with a reach yummy creamy tomato sauce for dunking. Yes please. For dinner my husband did the fried cod special with olives on the side. It came with a slightly spicy marinara type sauce over the top. It was crispy and crunchy, and just what he wanted. I ordered the Pappardelle with Mushroom Ragu, which.....shut it down, was the most rich, creamy, delicious, fresh, holy shit batman pasta experience I've ever had. Those wide noodles just coated in that ooooey gooey sauce, and the thick chunks of mushroom, oh my word, I mean....Yes. Just yes. Lacked in flavor definitely and no protein with it. She swapped it out for the meat Ragu sauce which was better but nothing special) (I had the spaghetti with seafood with lemon/citrus flavor..the big attraction was squid ink sauce...very underwhelming dish. Sorry, but the scallops were undercooked, the shrimp WAY overcooked, and the flavor was seriously lacking) Services: The waitress was sweet, and we tipped 20% but felt it wasn't worth ordering a birthday dessert since we didn't like any of the food and the flavors. They didn't bother during the meal, but they also didn't do anything special or memorable with it being my 30th birthday. Usually a strawberry on a plate with chocolate or whipped cream can make an impact and cost next to nothing. I have been dying to go to this place. I finally on a last minute date decided to try it out. It reminds me of someone's house turned into a restaurant. Very cozy and intimate. We didn't have a reservation but their website said they take walk ins. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes (we came in on a Friday night around 730pm). However, we were able to wait and have a drink in their speakeasy in the back. You walk outside to what feels like a mother in law quarters. Limited seating but it was a great idea! Dinner was phenomenal. They have a pretty large menu as well as wine list, cocktail/mocktails, and some beers. The fried bread had good flavor but a little dry. The house made spaghetti was my favorite. But the rib eye was also cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes. read more

It's an old house, so it has that vintage feel, with plants everywhere, the fire place blazing, dim lighting and just the perfect place for a cozy dinner on a Saturday night. It all started good, the wait we were told would be about 30 minutes and with a Speakeasy outside in the back where we could wait, we were golden. We ordered drinks and were having such a good time that I didn't realize it was over an hour and we hadn't been called up for our dinner. It wasn't until the people next to us (that got there way after we did) got called that I realized how long we had been waiting. When I inquired, I was told we were next and were asked if we were OK with the bar top. Really? After waiting for over an hour. By this time I was starving, so we said yes. So the same girl that greeted us at the door, was our server, was making drinks, and just running around everywhere, so I wondered is it just a staff shortage? I guess I'll never know. The food itself came out fast. We had the Gnocchi Al Pesto and the Artichoke and Cheese Ravioli in a Sage Butter Sauce, Topped with Fried Sage. Both were tasty. We also had the Italian Delight Mocktail at the Speakeasy. This place is pricey, and at least for me when the price goes up, the expectation of the service you recieve goes up as well. The food was good enough to return, but the service I recieved tonight would make me think of going to another place first before returning here. I really think this place could benefit from having a better system for seating patrons and feel confident that an apology or explanation when you fall short on a service would go a long way with most people. read more

Wouldn't text or call us when a table was ready so we decided to walk around the corner for a drink and hope we'd be back at the right time. Inside is very cute and romantic. It's not surprising that I read on their website the chef trained with a gelato master - for one who normally drinks my desert than eats it, please order the gelato. Think date night/catching up with old friends vibes, not bachelor party vibes. My bestie got married here actually! I went with a couple of my girlfriends and we got a bit of everything. I don't drink alcohol so I can't personally speak to that, but my friends loved their cocktails and to my delight they have mocktails!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohooooo!!!! I had the passion and pine and it was *actually* worth the $12 to me (: It's not a cheap date spot, but you get what you pay for. Tired of coming here and getting hit or miss service. Came here and they sit us down and not even offer us water or gave us menus for 10 minutes so we just walked out and nobody even noticed. A few times in the past we came by and they turned us away for a private event and we also called a few times and they say they are closed for a private event. It's an intimate setting where you can see the chef and staff hard at work. The menu is small and selective--pasta of the day, ravioli of the day, steak and a selection of tasty appetizers. They also have an extensive wine list and cocktails to enjoy. The small menu may scare some, but the freshness and flavor of the dishes leads me to believe you'll never be disappointed.
