I would probably give a 3.5 but I'll round up because I don't think a 3 is justified. This was my first time here, as well as the rest of our group. We wanted to try a new restaurant to celebrate our yelp elite badges for the year, as we are all elites. Our group was 5. The parking was hard which is not a fault of the restaurant, however does dictate my opinion if I would likely be back. Unfortunately with so many great dining options in town, it does make it hard to want to go somewhere if it takes 15 minutes just to find a parking spot. There was some paid parking nearby though! The restaurant was so cute. 5/5 for vibes. Gorgeous! I was the last to arrive and all of my table already had their drinks but it took forever for the waitress to come back and get my drink order. which was a testament to our service the rest of the night - very slow. At first the restaurant was pretty full so it was more understandable but by the end of the night we were close to the only table left but our service did not improve. I ordered the pesto gnocchi which although was delicious, was such a small portion. Everyone else at my table had a much bigger portion for their meal. I left still feeling hungry and almost stopped at a drive through on my way home. We also had bread and butter and fried dough as apps. The butter was so delicious, definitely stood out for our dinner. However the bread was very boring and didn't come with much. Just seemed like normal white bread. For the equality of the bread, I was surprised that the bread wasn't free with dinner. I would expect more for bread you have to purchase. We ordered cannolis for dessert but did not get a free one for the birthday girl which I was surprised because they did ask if we were celebrating anything. Overall it was good food but service could be improved and portion sizes could be adjusted.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Reno! Always walked by it and have always wanted to go, and we finally did! It was so good! I order the Kabocha Squash Ravioli, the Supplì, Caesar Salad and Cannoli's! Wow! The Kobocha was out of this world! So flavorful and wanted more after I ate it! Pairing it with the wine was perfect too. I love the feel of the restaurant. It made our date cozy and romantic, which was what I was hoping for. The service was excellent. The waitress was on it and very helpful when I had questions about the menu. It was great to hear it was all homemade pasta. Love that. I highly recommend this place.

What we ordered: - 3 Supplí: The fried exterior is crispy and interior is very cheesy. It is good, but I have never had something like this before so I can't compa - SPAGHETTI squid ink, shrimp, scallops, lemon zest: The shrimp was seasoned perfectly, and honestly one of the best tasting shrimp I have ever had. I love the texture of the spaghetti as well. If was my first time trying squid ink, and I like the combination of salty with everything else on the plate. Definitely will get this again! - PAPPARDELLE MUSHROOM RAGÙ: Pasta was perfectly al dente, and the mushrooms are bouncy. - Tiramisu Cheesecake: Love the creaminess of the cake and flavors of tiramisu. Parking was a struggle especially being on a Friday evening and being in midtown. When we walked in, it was very cosy and soon someone sat us at a table. There is bar seating as well, but I did not see the back and there is not a lot of seating in the front. The lighting is very nice especially with the mini lamps at each table. It was a rainy and cold day, so it was very cold inside the restaurant because the doors are open. I saw people wearing their puffer jackets! If there was a way to keep the cold out during the cooler days would be nice. It gets very loud too since it is a small space. Our appetizer came out fairly quickly and it took longer for the main dishes. Service was good. I would love to come back and try the other items on the menu!

Great design and atmosphere with excellent service and flavorful, well seasoned, food. The lemoncello martini was sweet and well mixed, the bread and butter was excellent, the meatballs were savory and delicious, the pesto gnocchi was perfectly cooked and the pesto was sharp, and lastly the cherry bourbon ice cream was divine and the best dessert to conclude an amazing dinner. Will definitely be back again!

This has been on my list to try for quite some time so we had a girls dinner here! The ambiance is cute and cozy with modern decor. The staff was nice but we were not checked for very long periods of time. I enjoyed my limoncello martini which was basically a lemon drop. We ordered some bread and butter which was so tiny but I will say their sage butter was amazing. I ordered the squid ink spaghetti and I honestly wasn't impressed. The noodles were not cooked all the way so they were kind of hard. For the price, I can't say 3 pieces of shrimp and 2 pieces of small scallops was worth it. The flavor was nice and light though. The cannoli order was so tiny and also not worth the price. They were okay. For a cutesy atmosphere dinner, it's a good spot but I can't justify the price for what you get unfortunately. I left still hungry.

We had a girls night here because none of us had ever been! Street parking can be hard to find, especially in the evenings when nearby businesses are busy with the dinner crowd. The place is quite small but we still got a table around 7pm without a wait. Our group had 5 but they don't reservations for groups under 8. Cocktails are actually cheaper than a glass of wine here which I found surprising. They were out of mint for a Hugo Spritz so I got an Aperol Spritz instead which was nice! However, it took longer than expected to get our drinks. We ordered a few apps, the bread + butter and the fried dough with truffle Parmesan. The butter stole the show--you can clearly taste the fresh sage! I got the squid ink spaghetti for my meal. Portion size was large but there were only about 3 shrimp (tail still on) and 2 scallops which didn't seem like much seafood to me. The pasta was a little more firm than I would have liked but the flavors were good. I felt like the lemon zest was more noticeable than the seafood flavor itself. They make the pasta fresh in-house each day and you can tell it is well-made. I'm glad I got this entree because some of the others were on the smaller side. My friend was celebrating a birthday and we got some small cannoli to celebrate; I was surprised they didn't give the birthday girl hers for free but they did sing to her which was nice. The chef came out to check in with us towards the end, something we really appreciated it since I'm sure he was quite busy. The service from our waitress could've been better, it felt like we were waiting around for a while at certain times--most noticeably for drinks at the start and the check at the end. We weren't in any hurry since it was girls night but we did spend over two hours here which easily could've been closer to an hour and a half if service was faster. There were a few things that could have been improved but I still enjoyed my first time dining here!

Calafuria is going in my list of best Italian food in Reno for sure! The service was a bit slow on the Friday night that we went but the food was absolutely amazing. Can't wait to go back!

Really enjoyed my dinner at this long-time Midtown gem! I've walked by it countless times, and finally got to try it out. They do not accept reservations unless your party is 8 or more, so I do suggest getting there early. Our party of two arrived a little before 6 on a Friday, and while there weren't any tables available, we were about to grab the two open seats at the bar. The bartender told us it was only her second day, but she killed it! All the staff members that I observed and encountered were excellent. The food was AMAZING. You can tell the pasta is made in house, and I appreciate the rotating menu. It feels like you're in someone's home, it's quite cozy. An extra Christmas bonus - carolers came and sang just outside the door during our meal! I've already recommended this place to friends and family.

This restaurant looks like it used to be a cute little house that's now home to delicious Italian food. They have specials that change daily, which is what I ordered from. The salmon was delicious and the crispy potatoes really stole the show. We had a friendly server who was happy to accommodate the 4 vegetarians I dined with (they had multiple options). Only downside is the parking is a bit sparse but there is a small pay to park lot right next to the building that we were able to get into.

With a cute and cozy environment, this is a great spot for a decadent weeknight dinner of delicious pasta and comfort food! I went with a 5 person group on a Wednesday and didn't have to make reservations. If you're going with a larger group, I suggest you call ahead because the space is small and intimate. They set up a beautiful table for the group and were able to seat us right away. The menu is simple but effective and this makes it easy to choose. Don't skip the bread and sage butter. It is so delicious and I want to put that butter on everything! For my main, I ordered the chicken based off our waitresses recommendation and I was very pleased! The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. The side of truffle Mac & cheese that comes with is the perfect size and was absolutely delicious. The chef came out to check on us and clear our table at one point and it was lovely. He informed us they make their pastas daily and you can tell! I would like to return in the summer to sit on their patio.

What a phenomenal night. To begin we were seated in a cozy corner at a wonderful table with fresh flowers. The sound was so rich and delightful with exceptional music. My husband got an IPA and I got their frosted pear drink followed by the Italian Margareta. Both were delicious. I should preface by saying, I've been a vegan for ten years and tonight was the night I quit being vegan. To start we got both the fried bread and the bread + salted butter. Both arrived warm and delish. The fried bread had truffle oil and my husband was hoping for a sauce which he later got with our other appetizer. The fresh bread and salted herb butter was absolutely stunning. For starters we got the special friend mushrooms in a dill sauce which.....stop the press was hands down one of the best appetizers we've ever had. We also ordered the 3 Suppli which came out super warm, and when I cut into it, I was tickled pink by the burst of warm fresh cheese that oozed out. It came with a reach yummy creamy tomato sauce for dunking. Yes please. For dinner my husband did the fried cod special with olives on the side. It came with a slightly spicy marinara type sauce over the top. It was crispy and crunchy, and just what he wanted. I ordered the Pappardelle with Mushroom Ragu, which.....shut it down, was the most rich, creamy, delicious, fresh, holy shit batman pasta experience I've ever had. Those wide noodles just coated in that ooooey gooey sauce, and the thick chunks of mushroom, oh my word, I mean....Yes. Just yes. This was a long drawn out meal, designed to make you engage with your partner, take your time, slow down, and smile. Our waitress Harper was phenomenal. She had such a great personality, excellent suggestions, and she thrived off of our good time. I will absolutely return here for another spectacular meal. Yummmmm!!!!

As a new family in Reno I was looking for a cute, fun, classy, and romantic place to spend my 30th birthday dinner with my family. My wife saw tik toks and I saw the reviews looked good. For starters, Wins: the vibe and atmosphere are very cool + cute. The culture and style is young professionals and hipster. Presentation and price are decent. Staff was friendly as well. Work one: the food was sadly not good. Very average at best. Tried 2 drinks ($12 NA version of a mojito which was pleasant but expensive for no alcohol in it to me) Appetizer (meatballs, they were very salty and dry and came out too fast after ordering...I don't think they're made to order) Meals: (wife had the pesto tagliatelle. Lacked in flavor definitely and no protein with it. She swapped it out for the meat Ragu sauce which was better but nothing special) (I had the spaghetti with seafood with lemon/citrus flavor..the big attraction was squid ink sauce...very underwhelming dish. Sorry, but the scallops were undercooked, the shrimp WAY overcooked, and the flavor was seriously lacking) Services: The waitress was sweet, and we tipped 20% but felt it wasn't worth ordering a birthday dessert since we didn't like any of the food and the flavors. They didn't bother during the meal, but they also didn't do anything special or memorable with it being my 30th birthday. Usually a strawberry on a plate with chocolate or whipped cream can make an impact and cost next to nothing. For a $90 tab I was disappointed, and they added a credit card fee to the ticket before knowing if we would pay card or cash...didn't like that. Overall 5.5/10 Nice place to be trendy and take pics and maybe go there for 1 drink in the future, but would not honestly recommend it for food.

I'm usually not a big fan of arugula, so being served a pizza with argula covered all over it was not a reassuring sight. Surprisingly, it was actually really good! It was probably because of the balsamic! This dish was my favorite out of the four. I absolutely loved loved LOVED the subtle sweetness of the fig spread. The fig spread worked like magic with the parmesan, and it tasted like a snack on the crunchy crust. Totally heaven in a bite. It was so good, I had three slices. The food came really quickly, and I loved the vibe of the interior. There's something so casual and chill about the place that gives laid-back vibes. The service was very slow. I believe that this was due to the number of large parties of bowlers that were dining that evening. (Tables of 12 or more.) Our poor server was assigned to a large table, plus had four other tables to take care of by themselves. This slowed down delivery of our food signifcantly. Mind you, the server was very nice, but too busy to do their job successfully. Our server did not bring out our side dish until we had almost finished our entrees. We really should have sent it back since dinner was almost over at this point. (We only ate a few spears of asparagus.) Regarding food quality - We ordered fried artichokes, which were OK, but lacked any zing. I recommend adding lemon wedges to this dish. The pappardelle were absolutley swimming in a somewhat watery meat sauce. This sauce needed to be cooked down more before being served. Note: Italians don't drown pasta in sauce. The dish should not be 80% sauce and 20% pasta, as was presented by La Strada. The chiappino broth was too tomatoey. It was more like a sauce. (Maybe they make one tomato-based broth for both sauces and soups?) The side of grilled bread was dripping in a flavorless oil. They should have just served the garlic bread with the chiappino instead of the grilled bread. We were not offered grated cheese with our dishes. I think the server was to busy to remember. The meal wasn't a total loss, but we will not be returning to La Strada. For $100 plus tax and tip, I expected more.

The only Con to this trip was that we didn't get the extra plain bread that we ordered or asked for a few times and I'm a little uncertain if they give bread with the meal or you have to order the garlic bread -either way it was not a downfall. The sundae desserts were wonderful and they recognized the birthday in our party. We love this place and like to frequent it. Can't wait for the next great meal there.

We ordered a glass of the house chianti and it was amazing! I had the mushroom ravioli's and a house salad for an extra $3 which was well worth it! My favorite part is the homemade bread!! Absolutely delicious and Rebecca brought us more straight out of the oven. I love hot bubbly bread!!! The service is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect especially after traveling all day with delays! The prices are good and plenty of parking! Next time you're thinking Italian think Zozo's, you'll be glad you did.

Quality/Quantity - Our friend's favorite Italian…read morerestaurant, so we ALL frequent it more and more often. And our group keeps getting bigger. Today's appetizers, all of which were really good: Meatballs - Huge, more than enough to share! Even with 7 of us. We all got a bite. Calamari - Fried well, decent portions. I think I ate most of this dish. Love me some calamari! Toasted Focaccia Bruschetta - Hit for our group. I enjoyed it also, but the calamari was still my favorite. Complimentary Bread - So good!! Always a favorite. We always have to get seconds. If you want 3rds, it comes with a $4 upcharge, but that is still worth it in my book. House Salads - Nothing special, but also not bad. Fresh, decent quantity, and with dressing on the side. Two Cesar Salads - Our guests enjoyed this. $5 upcharge each. Cups of Minestrone Soups - Good. Cup of Egg Drop Soup - One of our guests wanted to try this; $5 upcharge. Linguine & Clams - Both in white and red sauce. My choice was the red sauce. I kept forgetting that this comes with BABY clams as I prefer larger clams, and actually if it was still in the shell, that would be an extra plus. NOTE to self, do not keep getting this... Eggplant Parmigiana - Home run, both ladies that got this loved it! Huge slices of eggplant. Baked and fried well. Eggplant Parmigiana with Grilled Chicken - WOW, generous portions. I think my wife took ¾ of her dish home... She got another two meals out of it. Sauteed Calamari Steak - This looked good, I might get it next time. Our newest addition to our group. She also took half her entree home. Grilled Prawn Picatta - Not a large quantity, but because all of us (except one) are light eaters, our guest still took half home. Another good entree. I will also add this to my list for next time. Special Chicken Pomodoro - Decent portions, my buddy devoured this. He is a good eater. One of the few in our group, lol. Dessert, Tiramisu - This was really good. We should have ordered a second one... And to wash it all down, I got a glass of Italian white wine which I really did not enjoy... Atmosphere - Double storefront. We seemed to always end up sitting in the second room but not today! I liked that they had a bar in each room. Table, booth, or bar seating. Two unisex restrooms. Plenty of parking. See pictures for business hours. Open 6 days a week; closed Mondays. Service - Good. We had a leisurely 2 hour dinner and never felt rushed. We were catching up with our good friends and new friends. Price - $323 + generous tips. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1990 as Davos; we have been customers for a very long time. Glad we are back and introducing our friends to your restaurant. Mid 1990 - Coco Pazzo, then renamed to Panevino. 2000 - Zozo's.

It was our 1st time eating there however it had been on our list for some time. We started with the PULL-APART GARLIC CHEESE BREAD which is Focaccia, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, frico crust and also ordered the WOOD FIRED OCTOPUS with crispy gnocchi, tomatoes, red onion, basil, arugula and topped with a Calabrian chili aioli. Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The service was great, food was yummy and we definitely look forward to going back again soon!

My son-in-law invited us to try a new place for happy hour…read more We ordered every item on the happy hour menu. The cauliflower was one of my favorites, roasted perfectly with great flavor, Fondue was creamy, hot and delicious, meatballs were super moist and bursting with flavor. The olives were dry and tiny and hard to enjoy due to pit. The backpack was ok but not great. Now, the pizza! It was absolutely perfect. Thin crust, perfect amount of cheese and toppings. I enjoyed the bee sting pizza, hot and sweet, and I love the combination. When I go back it will definitely be pizza, salad and cauliflower. The sever was a sweet young man. He was attentive to our needs and patient with all our questions. The restaurant is a good size, the bar area was busy and filled with conversation and laughter, the booths looked cozy, we chose a table near windows for outside lighting. The outside tables looked great for getting some warmth and fresh air. Many options and different settings. Sorry, I forgot to take pics.
