    Whoopie pie
    Devin C.

Look at how absolutely beautiful the baked goods at Cakabakery are! I finally stopped by during ShopHop to pick up a sweet. I wish I could've tried everything, especially their house-made poptarts. It was so tough to choose just one but I had to go with the whoopie pie. It just looked too good to pass up. The chocolate "cookies" had an absolutely incredible texture. It was the most delicate crumb on a baked good that I've tried (just look at the close up). Rich cocoa flavor with a candied peppermint aftertaste. Reminded me of an Andes Mint. Their selection is rotating daily so make sure to checkout their socials to see the daily menu. If you can think of a baked good, they probably sell it, including custom orders! Also shoutout to the owner. Put him down on the list of amazing people who love their work. He was incredibly kind and helpful while I was totally stressing about what to buy.

Worth every penny! I loved my baby shower cake! They worked with me on the design and also helped me find the best option that would still keep me in budget. The cake was moist and delicious. My guests loved the cupcakes, I didn't even try one! Lol Thank you Cakabakery!!

    Email from the owner

Update: Peter, one of the co-owners, reached out to us in both an email and called my husband to apologize. Peter reviewed our emails and talked with the staff from that day and said he found multiple mistakes that were made through the entire process. Like I said before we are human and mistakes happen. While the initial response to this situation wasn't great, we were ultimately given a genuine apology, a full refund, and even asked to come into the shop for a face to face apology. The desserts were delicious and our cake was to die for. Their flavors are unique and super yummy. If you have an event or even a wedding, at least go into the bakery and do a taste testing. Hi there!!! I had my wedding on Friday, June 22nd and it was absolutely amazing. Everything went perfectly except our cake vendor, Cakeabakery, which messed up royally. We ordered for a cake, 6 dozen cupcakes and 6 dozen cookies that were listed as delivery on our contract. My now husband got a call around 2:15 the day of the wedding from Cakeabakery asking if we were picking up our order and they close at 3:00 pm. Luckily we had some amazing family members rush over there and pick up our order. When we got the order at the venue, we were missing 6 dozen cupcakes. My sisters were calling the now closed bakery to let them know they were on the way to collect the other 1/3 of our order. Upon arrival, Cakeabakery did not have our cupcakes. So my sisters had to collect whatever cupcakes that were left. One of the workers gave my sister a $100 of the $150 delivery fee. We received an email this morning from I'm assuming the owner. He 1. Did not acknowledge the missing cupcakes, 2. Take ownership for their mistakes or apologize on their end and claim it was a confusion, 3. Asked for the money back I understand mistakes happen, people are human. We paid for 6 dozen cupcakes and did not receive our order! I also have multiple emails stating they would be delivered and they even sent an updated contract with the delivery fee. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. My sister who works at a bakery her self did a little digging into their reviews and we are not the first couple this happened to on their wedding day. Check some of the reviews on Google.

We got our wedding cake custom made from Jason and wow, it was STUNNING! We talked about doing something different for dessert, but for some reason I had it in my head that I wanted a tiered wedding cake (When else are you going to have a reason to have a four tier cake? Life is short) Beyond being beautiful, every flavor combo was delicious. They did such a great job of every aspect. Looking forward to eating that top tier on our anniversary! Professional and fast communication throughout the process. Out of everything it was honestly one of the easier details to coordinate, such a breeze! 10/10 a great bake. Thank you guys!

Fantastic bakery with many different flavors to choose from. We get our birthday and celebration cakes from here whenever we can. Sometimes you will find they are no longer taking orders for certain weeks a month+ in advance on their social media page. This happens when big holidays and wedding season is in full swing. Plan accordingly. Every time we have picked up the people working are so nice, no matter how long the line is for pick up. Small parking lot in the back or street parking for your visit. Our favorite is the vegan lemon cake.

Terrific selection of delicious cupcakes with the perfect blend of flavors that are not too sweet. I purchased a caramel/vanilla buttercream cake that everyone enjoyed and was visually beautiful. Plan ahead when ordering a custom cake.

Helloooooo Cakabakery! This charming shop can bake up your wildest dessert dreams. On top of that, both of their locations (Grand Rapids and Holland) feature new delectable creations made from fresh, local ingredients, daily! ⁣ ⁣ From their cupcakes, to their cinnamon rolls, to even their chocolate chip cookie dough , we agree that this bakery takes the cake! (Haha ) ⁣ ⁣ Check out their Instagram page for their daily lineup! We hope you get a chance to enjoy the charm of The Cakabakery!

I visited the West location in Holland but there isn't a separate Yelp page for that. I saw Jason, the owner's, episode of Cupcake Wars so I've stopped in a couple times. Unfortunately their Holland location is so hidden from the road I worry about their business. I don't see any marketing besides an active Instagram account which is how I found them on the explore page. They are where Second Floor Bakery used to be off Lakewood. The cupcakes should probably be bigger for the price but they are tasty and we don't have a ton of cupcake bakeries in town. The lemon could stand to have more lemon flavor. When I get a lemon dessert I want it to be *LEMON* not just lemon. The cake itself was perfect consistency. The chocolate chip cookies are spot on! Soo much chocolate in every bite and just the right amount of dough flavor comes through in the center. I'll be back for cupcakes for my birthday and I want to try the cinnamon roll and pecan roll, those looked great!

The skull, cake pop, and slice of cake are all from Caka!

Words cannot even begin to describe how tasty this bakery is... YUM!!! Whenever someone is new to town... I always advise that they make a stop here! I love the designs of their sweet treats, I love the flavors of their sweet treats, and the staff is always SO friendly! I was looking for some spooktacular Halloween goodies this past weekend, and Caka had the best and most festive baked goods by far! All of their creations were so unique and made my Halloween party that much more fun! And not only did these treats look amazing... they also tasted amazing! The "RIP Hunger" cake was a Snickerdoodle flavor... UH-MAZING. So, if you're just looking for some tasty treats... or you're looking for some cute treats for the holiday season... Caka is your place to go!

    Custom Batman Cake

My fiancé is obsessed with Batman so every year I order him a custom made Batman Cake from different places. I never really bothered taking pictures because the results are usually good but not that great. As you can see, I couldn't help myself but to take MULTIPLE pictures of the cake I ordered from Cakabakery. I made sure I called in more than two weeks ahead of time because I was told that they only make custom cakes if ordered two weeks prior so make sure you do! I emailed them a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like and they said they could make it. I was so excited and couldn't wait to see the results! It was finally time to go pick it up and I was super happy with how the cake turned out! It wasn't exactly what the original cake looked like but super close! My fiancé loved it, he was smiling like a little kid :) Taste wise, we couldn't get enough! Stomach was starting to hurt from eating too many slices but that did not stop us haha. Everyone loved the cake, from the design to the taste so I will definitely be placing in more cake orders.

Such a cute shop!! It was so clean and nice with friendly staff who were all masked when we went. They were helpful with suggestions and giving us the information about the cake of the day and what was available. The cookies were absolutely delicious!!! We enjoyed the cupcakes too but 1 was a bit dry and we think that was because we went close to the end of the day. We will be back over and over.

They have chocolates, bon bons, gelato, coffee drinks, and more. We ordered two of the cookie sandwiches, which we were told are made daily by a local pastry chef. The blueberry cookie was my favorite - it was soft and full of blueberries. The passionfruit one wasn't as flavorful. The buttercream frosting was super sweet, so we probably could have split one and been happy. I love that they have gelato flights! I didn't see any pricing posted for the treats when we visited, but the total was just over $10 for the two cookie sandwiches. They are handmade (vs. frozen and shipped in) so that makes sense. The employee helping us was super sweet and friendly, which I appreciated. The space is cute with ample seating to enjoy your treats, and they have an Instagrammable photo wall.
