Had an awesome experience at this plant based ice cream shop. The space is so boutique and cute, with plants and art everywhere. The owner, Dwight, was super welcoming and informative. My partner and I brought friends visiting from out of town and he made the visit a ton of fun for all of us. We tried almost all of the flavors on display and decided on pints of rum raisin and raspberry cheesecake, while our friends got parfaits with other flavors. We all thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream. I've been bummed before by plant based ice creams that taste nothing like the real thing but you legit would not know these were dairy free unless someone told you! I will be back for sure!

This place is so cozy inside. Well decorated. The plants deserve a standing ovation! The blueberry cheesecake was phenomenal. Highly recommend going here. I haven't stopped thinking about it since we left. My son devoured the half of mine I couldn't eat. The owner was very kind and helpful. One of the best places I've been to since moving here

Ten out of ten! FINALLY made it to THE Cajou Creamery. Last time, I was in the area was on a day that it was closed. The shop is so cute! Very nicely designed. Clean. And they had a few places to sit outside on a nice day. I was greeted by the owner who told me that all the ice cream was gluten free. Just not the sandwiches or the cones. That's fine by me. I'm not used to having so many options. Usually the gluten and dairy free option is singular option I got the flight which was $14 with the blueberry cheesecake, horchata, and baklava. I absolutely LOVE the blueberry cheesecake and baklava. In fact I ate them together. They pair very nicely. Wasn't such a fan of the horchata but it was still fine. I got a sample of the soursop which was great but didn't add it to my flight.

This is probably one of if not the best ice cream here in Baltimore. Not only are the flavors amazing, the owner is so genuine and it felt more like an experience than just ordering ice cream. He let us try every flavor and made us try more after. 10/10

So years ago there was an Elite Week fro Cajou Creamery that lined up nicely with festive times. My sister and her vegan family were all around, and we decided to go collectively. Having access to some of their ice cream flavors in Whole Foods, I didn't go back to their brick-and-mortar until this year. I could never find their Sweet Potato Pie in stores near me, so I finally had to go back and get it after enjoying it so much before. It was as amazing as I remember. And the owner gave me the genius idea of letting it melt a little and using it as a French Toast stuffing. Do you know how delicious that is?! Not long after this experience, they posted on social media about being in danger of closing and the community was not having it. I couldn't make it out in time but it was amazing to see so many people coming out to support them. Proud! I returned recently to mass stock for the holidays and gifts, and conveniently enough, they have some new amazing flavors for the season that I couldn't wait to experience: Spiced Pear w/ Brandy caramel and Jamaican Black Cake. FAN.TASTIC. I really wish there was one closer to home, but this is one that I hope stays around for a long time. Of all the ice cream I have had (dairy or vegan), they're easily in my top 3. I thought sweet potato pie was their peak... but these seasonal flavors... wow. Til next time!

Cajou is a plant based ice cream shop owned by Dwight Campbell and Nicole Foster. Dwight is normally working in store daily; he is cordial, customer centric and super knowledgeable. The ambience is quaint with modern touches. Cajou sells clean products that are made fresh daily, with (ingredient) labels that a 5 year old could understand. Most notably, they have flavored ice cream cones (green tea matcha, chocolate, etc). The brand integrity and a sense of community shines with every scoop given that five percent of each sell goes to support local food justice initiatives. If you want to support this cause but can't make it into the retail store, Cajou creamery is located in the aisles of Whole Foods across the country (as well as Slutty Vegan burger spot). Cajou is a luxury ice cream experience and I can't wait to return to grab ice cream and listen to all things Baltimore.

I believe I have said it before however again for short measure, I LOVE CAJOU CREAMERY. What is not to love and I am so glad I don't have a cashew allergy because I would be missing out on some delectable ice creamery dreamery! From the owner Dwight's stellar customer service to the ice cream there is not much more to say. I so enjoy that when in town there are always new flavors to taste, try and indulge without guilt. During this visit, BLACK CAKE (IYKYK), COQUITO (IYKYK) and SPICED PEAR w/ BRANDY CARAMEL... So, of course, came with a cooler, dry ice and took all 3 home for the road trip!

Finally made it to Cajou. It's a cozy ice cream shop with enough standing room for a few patrons. I ordered a double scoop of blueberry cheesecake and Jamaican rum raisin on a black cocoa cone. The raisins had a very potent rum flavor but overall I enjoyed my cone. I was really hoping to try the sweet potato flavor but it was only available by the pint.

Truly the nicest human running this ice cream shop. And the ice cream is so tasty!! We walked in in a Sunday afternoon and no one else was in the cozy store, so we asked if we could taste every flavor. I'm vegan and from seattle, so felt like this might be my only chance. All their ice cream is vegan (cashew based), soy free, gluten free, and in an effort to keep sugars low, sweetened with dates. They obliged, and as we were tasting another customer walked in who joined in on the tasting party. Soon there were a handful more people. The baklava flavor was my favorite, the chunky monkey flavor had the perfect amount of banana flavor ("because we use real banana"), and the kulfi was a cardamom treat. The sweet potato pie was really impressive (because his son challenged him to make it into an ice cream flavor) and the horchata was the first flavor because his son had food intolerances as a baby. There were three or four flavors of cones you could get, and little premade ice cream sandwiches. If you can't make it to the scoop shop, this ice cream is available in Whole Foods in the wider area, and will be available for nationwide shipping in just a few weeks! I'm going to go into my local store and request that they carry it. Really cute shop, great ice cream, lovey humans. Would recommend!

I am so happy that I have found this place! As an ice cream connoisseur gone vegan-ish... I have had my heart broken by lots of nondairy options! But I have met the Cajou of my dreams! I had to taste almost every option available and u will understand why when you take a look at those options! 1. The store is amazing. Small and cozy - feels like you walked into a Pinterest dream! 2. The owner was the cashier! Whaaaaaa!? Please take a moment to share a smile and say thank you for the best service ever these days. I felt as if I was invited over to my BFFs house who happens to make amazing treats! 3. Flavor! This ice cream is definite creamy, bright, decadent and better than .... Anything ever. And the matcha cone was crunchy and fresh!

Some of the best vegan ice cream I have ever had, no lie! Their rum flavored one is a new favorite flavor for me. And because of the location (Baltimore), you are basically getting affordable craft ice cream (I live in the DC area and was pleasantly surprised with the price).

I had an amazing visit to Cajou Creamery which is a black owned and all vegan business. I was so happy that they had a consistent line for ice cream while I was there. People in Baltimore can definitely appreciate a dairy free option! The inside of Cajou Creamery is small. I love that they had cute jewelry for sale as well as of course their ice cream. There is a little bit of seating inside the scoop shop but it is definitely easier to take your ice cream outside to enjoy. Cajou has so many unique flavors like Baklava and Blueberry Cheesecake. They allow you to sample as many flavors as you like to make sure you get a scoop you love. All their ice creams are cashew based and wonderfully creamy. My favorite thing at Cajou Creamery is they offer quite a few toppings for free! You can get waffle cone pieces and sprinkles added to your scoop for no additional cost! That right there puts them at the top of my list for scoop shops. I loved getting my scoop decked out in rainbow sprinkles. I ordered their flavor with sunbutter cups and loved the sweet and saltiness from the sweet ice cream base and the salty sunbutter. It was absolutely delicious! I have also tried their blueberry cheesecake and baklava and enjoyed those flavors as well. The blueberry one has so many full sized blueberries mixed in and the baklava has a wonderful amount of baklava bits blended in. This business has a great ratio of ice cream base to toppings mixed in for each of their flavors. I am very happy this all vegan ice cream spot exists and will definitely be returning to try more of their flavors!

There's a lot of poorly done vegan ice cream out there. Due to that, I just don't eat much. But when I find a place that does it right, you best believe I will be frequenting there a lot. Cajou Creamery does it right! As the name implies, Cajou Creamery makes their ice cream from cashews. They don't stick to just the basics when it comes to flavors. A visit to their small shop will introduce you to all kinds of rotating flavor gems. Flavors such as Blueberry Cheesecake, Horchata, Baklava, Sweet Potato Pie, Black Cherry Blossom, Mango and Bourbon Pecan just to name a few. Cajou Creamery also offers a variety of cones. Typically, if I'm going to do a cone, i do the matcha one (who says no to green ice cream cones). But my favorite way to enjoy Cajou ice cream is between two cookies. I mean fresh vegan cookies with adventurous flavors of vegan ice cream between them? Sign. Me. Up. Cajou Creamery is an incredible Black owned and Woman owned vegan ice cream spot in Baltimore. If you are anywhere within the confines of Baltimore (and by that I mean within 50 miles of the city) I behoove you to pay this shop a visit.

Oleum can best be described as vegan, chef inspired, fine dining. I was absolutely floored by how…read moregood everything was. To start with, the menu is very creative. You aren't going to find black bean burgers and cauliflower wings here (not that there is anything wrong with those). Instead, you will find small plates like Cannellini and Pan (bread with white beans) and Batata Harra (spicy Lebanese potatoes). Soups like Roasted Pumpkin. Mains like Steak, roasted veggies and Polenta in gravy. Pizzas like Meat Lovers with vegan bacon, pepperoni, sausage and spicy Italian sausage. There is plenty more dishes I just named the ones we ended up ordering. My wife started with a mocktail that included coconut and was meant to taste like a Creamsicle popsicle. Incredibly, it did. I was intrigued by a number of lattes but considering it was night and I had already reached my coffee quota for the day, I abstained. After that, we ordered and received our small plates and soup. The Cannellini and Pan was incredible. I don't know how to describe the bread. It looked like pita but it didn't taste or feel like any pita I've had before. The beans were flavorful, with a hint of spice. Speaking of spice, the Batata Harra was very spicy. Good, but definitely not for someone who can't handle spice. The soup was good but didn't really blow me away like everything else. Next came our mains, Steak and Polenta and the Meat Lovers Pizza. A lot of the pizza meats and cheeses are made in house at Oleum giving this pizza a unique taste all to itself. The crust was great, the meats were good with a hint of spiciness and the cheese was not too much and flowed with the rest of the pizza. The steak was a locally made vegan steak that cut and looked like real steak (I didn't quite have the same texture as I remember actual steak). Paired with polenta, mushrooms and Brussels and topped with gravy, this dish was incredible. To end it all, I took a carrot cake to go. Also excellent. The wait staff was incredible. Two different servers and the owner stopped at our table to check on us. Oleum is not cheap. This meal, with tip, was close to $150 dollars. But the quality and taste (and amount of leftovers) made the price more palatable. Will definitely be back!

Upon my first…read morevisit, I ordered the kale ceasar salad and a butternut squash soup. 2nd visit was the breakfast burrito. Both times, the service was impeccable at the bar, and while being formally seated. As I'm not a vegan, I do frequent vegan places in hopes of finally transitioning, so I understand flavor profiles and what to expect/not expect. The salad dressing was a bit skimpy and the croutons were extremely hard. I asked for some honey to add to the sauciness of the dressing, which in hindsight, I should have just asked for more dressing. I've had vegan ceasar salad dressing before that somehow mimicked that anchovie-taste, which is what I expected here. For the soup, I had my mouth ready for a sweet savory taste, but instead it was salty savory which altogether changed my viewpoint on how this soup can be made. I asked for chili oil to give it a little pop. Onto the breakfast burrito - a sight to see! I'm not a breakfast burrito girl, but a friend let me taste her leftovers and I thought I HAD to have my own. At first bite, I can say it was a whole YES. My only ask was more seasoning, and to have cooked the tofu down just a bit more so it didn't give the consistency of a runny egg. I asked for sriracha, chili oil and ketchup to seal the deal. I highly suggest offering at least one of these sauces/oil as a free accoutrement, instead of charging per oz. Ambiance is always warm and inviting. The dark wood gives a homelike vibe and the music is on point. I will definitely be back for the breakfast burrito in hopes of more fun sauces on the side!

Pre order was easy, I did it all via my phone a couple of weeks in advance. My only drawback on my One Night Stand was that the Baltimore locations menu indicates that they add in chili on the burger which is not indicated on the online versions of the menu. I'm not a spicy food eater and I THINK that's what put the spice in this burger, I'll have it removed when I come back, but overall everything was pretty good. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the Caesar salad, Hangover Burger, bacon egg and cheese biscuit, Elvis pancakes, and a quesadilla--and overall, the experience was a solid 4/5. The Caesar salad stood out with its fresh ingredients and what tasted like homemade croutons. The Hangover Burger was cooked perfectly to order and packed with flavor, though the garlic fries it comes with are very garlicky--something to keep in mind if you prefer a milder side (you may want to request plain fries). The bacon egg and cheese biscuit was simple but delicious, while the Elvis pancakes--topped with bacon and peanut butter--were a standout and a must-try if you're feeling indulgent. The quesadilla was also very good, paired with an impressively flavorful broth that elevated the dish. To top it off, the iced coffee was bold and strong, but still smooth and refreshing. One thing to note: street parking is limited in the area, so plan accordingly when visiting. Overall, Golden Key West offers great food, solid portions, and a cool atmosphere that's definitely worth checking out.
