I was here for an art show. it's really cool charmed kitchen partners with Baltimore Art Gallery to change out the art on their walls, and it's available for sale and it's all to support local artists. It is a little hipster bougie and the wine selection isn't bad. It's a little bit more mainstream. They have a lot of beer. I found a couple natural wines. The Portuguese wine that I normally buy for $9 was $14, but again there's a little bit of a service fee here since it's like a local corner store. I was so happy to see that I could buy Taharka brother's ice cream here because they recently pulled out a Broadway market, and I was having to drive outside of fells point but now I can just walk to this convenience store! The food has always been solid here, but I was so incredibly shocked at the grilled chicken Caesar salad honestly, I'm still thinking about the wrap and I want to get another one desperately. The house salad, which is an upcharge of four dollars was really delicious as well. Such a solid spot and they do lots of promos like on Wednesdays you can buy pasta and get a glass of wine for one cent. It's really such a cool place!

Sean (the owner) provided SPECTACULAR service with wonderful recommendations. Since we were the first to arrive for the day, he allowed us to choose our own seating. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended! Dress code is casual. We decided on the Chef Brunch Menu for our Friday brunch which provided 3 courses. I had the Nitro shrimp and grits, Chicken Teriyaki Bowl and French Toast Dippers with fresh fruit. My fiancé had the Chicken Dumplings (potstickers), Crab Quesadillas and French Toast Dippers with fresh fruit as well. The Jamaican Iced Tea is a MUST try!! We'll definitely be returning to see what the dinner menu is like. Oh... parking is rough (street parking) so get there early!!

We were able to speak with him he waiter regarding the menu as well as the chef's background. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept, so we could see the chef at work. To start we had Chicken Dumplings and Duck Poutine. Both were truly an experience. For entrees we ordered Red Snapper, Blue Plate, one had pork, one did not, and the Chefs cut. All was amazing. There is a lot of attention to detail with the flavors and with the restaurant service. I cannot speak highly enough of the chef and his establishment!

Oleum can best be described as vegan, chef inspired, fine dining. I was absolutely floored by how…read moregood everything was. To start with, the menu is very creative. You aren't going to find black bean burgers and cauliflower wings here (not that there is anything wrong with those). Instead, you will find small plates like Cannellini and Pan (bread with white beans) and Batata Harra (spicy Lebanese potatoes). Soups like Roasted Pumpkin. Mains like Steak, roasted veggies and Polenta in gravy. Pizzas like Meat Lovers with vegan bacon, pepperoni, sausage and spicy Italian sausage. There is plenty more dishes I just named the ones we ended up ordering. My wife started with a mocktail that included coconut and was meant to taste like a Creamsicle popsicle. Incredibly, it did. I was intrigued by a number of lattes but considering it was night and I had already reached my coffee quota for the day, I abstained. After that, we ordered and received our small plates and soup. The Cannellini and Pan was incredible. I don't know how to describe the bread. It looked like pita but it didn't taste or feel like any pita I've had before. The beans were flavorful, with a hint of spice. Speaking of spice, the Batata Harra was very spicy. Good, but definitely not for someone who can't handle spice. The soup was good but didn't really blow me away like everything else. Next came our mains, Steak and Polenta and the Meat Lovers Pizza. A lot of the pizza meats and cheeses are made in house at Oleum giving this pizza a unique taste all to itself. The crust was great, the meats were good with a hint of spiciness and the cheese was not too much and flowed with the rest of the pizza. The steak was a locally made vegan steak that cut and looked like real steak (I didn't quite have the same texture as I remember actual steak). Paired with polenta, mushrooms and Brussels and topped with gravy, this dish was incredible. To end it all, I took a carrot cake to go. Also excellent. The wait staff was incredible. Two different servers and the owner stopped at our table to check on us. Oleum is not cheap. This meal, with tip, was close to $150 dollars. But the quality and taste (and amount of leftovers) made the price more palatable. Will definitely be back!

I'm happy I got a chance to try the food at Oleum. These pics are from two visits. Upon my first…read morevisit, I ordered the kale ceasar salad and a butternut squash soup. 2nd visit was the breakfast burrito. Both times, the service was impeccable at the bar, and while being formally seated. As I'm not a vegan, I do frequent vegan places in hopes of finally transitioning, so I understand flavor profiles and what to expect/not expect. The salad dressing was a bit skimpy and the croutons were extremely hard. I asked for some honey to add to the sauciness of the dressing, which in hindsight, I should have just asked for more dressing. I've had vegan ceasar salad dressing before that somehow mimicked that anchovie-taste, which is what I expected here. For the soup, I had my mouth ready for a sweet savory taste, but instead it was salty savory which altogether changed my viewpoint on how this soup can be made. I asked for chili oil to give it a little pop. Onto the breakfast burrito - a sight to see! I'm not a breakfast burrito girl, but a friend let me taste her leftovers and I thought I HAD to have my own. At first bite, I can say it was a whole YES. My only ask was more seasoning, and to have cooked the tofu down just a bit more so it didn't give the consistency of a runny egg. I asked for sriracha, chili oil and ketchup to seal the deal. I highly suggest offering at least one of these sauces/oil as a free accoutrement, instead of charging per oz. Ambiance is always warm and inviting. The dark wood gives a homelike vibe and the music is on point. I will definitely be back for the breakfast burrito in hopes of more fun sauces on the side!

Instead of applying the BOGO to each pair, they only removed the cheapest rolls overall, which made the "BOGO" deal feel misleading. Service also wasn't great. After 10 minutes of trying to get a bartender's or waiter's attention, we left. Months, later, we were craving sushi and decided to try again. This time we sat at the bar which is spacious enough and were helped immediately. Even though we wanted sushi, I couldn't resist the cheesesteak eggroll which was very good and came out hot. While it was a little oily, it was still tasty and enjoyable. We order 3 rolls and the fried Oreos to go and while I recommend the Oreos and cheesesteak eggrolls, I can't recommend the sushi here. The spicy tuna tasted canned, and the trio roll was way too fishy. The volcano was the best, but also just okay. You also don't get any ginger with your rolls. I think this place is better as a regular bar, but for an advertised sushi spot, it doesn't have great sushi.
