Took a trip to the Black Owned Slutty Vegan Baltimore for my Big Sis's birthday, she's been dying to try it and finally got to see what all the buzz is about! The location is everything! Right in downtown Baltimore's up and coming Peninsula area, directly across from the Sagamore Rye Distillery. It's a fresh, developing spot that's definitely on the rise. The exterior is sleek and minimal, but once you step inside, boom!!! It's loud, lively, and unapologetically bold. Think vibrant colors, massive wall graphics, and a staff that greets you with energy and personality. They literally call you out as you walk in and it's hilarious and welcoming. Special shoutout to Zaneka (hope I'm spelling that right!) she was amazing. Patient, fun, and super helpful with all our first-timer questions. We were the first ones at the door when they opened, so we had the place to ourselves for a bit! We wanted to try EVERYTHING, but settled on: - The infamous One Night Stand - The Slutty Chicken Caesar Wrap - Both with Slutty Fries - And of course, the Oreo Cookie Milkshake to top it off Everything was flavorful and fun, definitely a unique twist on plant-based comfort food. My only drawback on my One Night Stand was that the Baltimore locations menu indicates that they add in chili on the burger which is not indicated on the online versions of the menu. I'm not a spicy food eater and I THINK that's what put the spice in this burger, I'll have it removed when I come back, but overall everything was pretty good. We ate in so our fries were hot and extra crispy. The milkshake was on point as well. I tried the pomegranate slutty ORGANIC lemonade on the go out and I have no regrets, very robust in flavor and really good. I am definitely a fan. Will be back to try other items on the menu. On the positive side, it's a fun vibe with loud decor and friendly service, but that's about it for the positives I regret to say. It seems every few years a new vegan casual chain is attempted and they all disappear because frankly they're just not good enough and this is no exception. The fries are decent, though I'd prefer them a little crispier and more seasoned. The chicken head sandwich is barely better than a Boca patty, which is really saying something (negative). The temporary item The big meat was okay but there was nowhere enough of the pulled "meat" it wasn't even as thick as one side of the bun, never mind both. I was so excited to finally try Slutty Vegan now that they've opened a location in Maryland. I even tried to go when I was in Atlanta, but I refused to stand in that mile long line. When I saw there was no line at the Maryland location, I jumped at the chance to check it out. As soon as you walk in, the whole team greets you with fun chants like "Let's get sluttified!" and "Welcome to Slutty Vegan," and when you leave they chant, "We've got some sluts leaving the house." The place is nice and clean, though there isn't much seating inside. However, they do have a bar next door. Bar Vegan with plenty of seating available. I ordered the One Night Stand plant-based burger, which comes with lettuce, tomato, onions, vegan cheese, vegan bacon, and slut sauce on a Hawaiian bun, along with a side of fries. Gasp.....I love me some Slutty Vegan....but this location, it always seems to be extremely slow. This is my third time trying them out. They now have removed the seating they once had, they only have the bar stools by the wall currently. The signature greeting they state when you come in is lack luster as well. Sometimes you may get it...other times nope. In New York I was a regular and they were always on point. Service as I stated they don't always greet you. The folks that are working take their sweet time coming to the register or addressing you in general. This last time there were 3 guys working and it seem like the two were confused on how to get the orders correct. Another guy appeared and tried to work through to get them back on track. Once that happened things starting flowing again...but it's a shame to see this happening. Now the food...it's delicious! Pumped to finally experience Slutty Vegan. Left feeling just ok. Following the Slutty Vegan Instagram account I see all the work being put in to crafting an extensive vegan fast food menu. The burger was a fine vegan burger. The Slutty Fries were a bit over dusted, my son passed his last few on to me as they were too much for him. The Banana Pudding was the star of the show. Absolutely enthralled with the texture and taste. The service here was good. They greet you when you enter with a call out. The lady who took my order was attentive and answered my question. The food came out rather quickly. Love that the Slutty Vegan franchise seems to focus on local as they offer Cajou Creamery ice cream. I would've dipped into that had the banana pudding not caught my eye. Overall, I think I will be back to try out the bar next door and to experience another one of their burgers. I hope with the amount I paid for the burger that the employees are paid a livable wage, cause that's the only reason I can think of the pay nearly $30 for an extremely mid experience. Of Course this black owned business and Baltimore native's restaurant was on my Yelp List to check out. I was able to hang with my oldest daughter while checking out this restaurant. This was my 1st time really trying a vegan burger and I was amazed by how good the burgers and fries were. We ordered the Fussy Hussy & the One Night Stand with seasoned fries. Our food was ready within 10 mins of ordering. I love a good messy burger & it was nicely seasoned and of course SLUTTY to my liking!!! Burgers were priced at $20 each so be prepared. I am so glad that they finally brought SV to Baltimore! I've been wanting to try it for years, and it did not disappoint! It's in a cool up and coming area, lots of street parking. I went on a Friday afternoon so it wasn't busy at all. There are only two tables inside the restaurant, plus a bar-type seating area near the register, but there's tables outside as well. Luckily we got to sit inside. I actually loved the simplicity of the menu. I decided to try the Slutty Hussy burger, which came with fries. I also got a strawberry dragonfruit drink. They also serve ice cream from Cajou Creamery, a vegan and black owned company. I'll have to try a scoop next time. The burger- wow!! I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was! I visited Slutty Vegan with a friend, and we stopped in hoping to share a burger as a snack. The first surprise was that they had no way to cut a burger in half. When I asked how they prepare all of their fixings, I was told that everything arrives pre-cut in bags and is simply opened and poured out. The tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and other toppings are not freshly cut on-site. The service was also disappointing. There were only about three customers in the entire restaurant, yet the wait was surprisingly long and the overall service felt slow and mediocre. In the end, I left feeling like I could have spent far less money and been just as satisfied with an Impossible Whopper from Burger King. I was finally able to go back and try Slutty Vegan after seeing it next door while I was at the grand opening of Bar Vegan. I had been wanting to check it out for a while, but this was my first visit back. After standing in line and tearing them announce loudly when another team member walked in, "We got another SLUT in the building!" or calling out the order is being placed and a side eyed manner, I couldn't determine if it was fun or slightly over the top. They definitely teeter-totter on the line of that and it was a little . . . . . I'm not exactly sure how to describe it but I was thinking of not answering the building again. I browsed the menu, and decided to try the "Wrap It Up" because it there were oyster mushrooms and old bay--something I was really excited about trying! I love mushrooms & old bay but I've never tried the combination before on a burger. I also ordered fries, and my date did the same. We took the food over to Sagmore and grabbed some drinks to wrap up the evening. However, when I opened my order I noticed a "Sloppy Toppy" sticker on it. I hesitated to open it, especially since it looked more like a burrito than and burger. When I unwrapped it, I realized it was a wrap, not the burger I thought I had ordered. My date took it back across the street to the restaurant, and when he returned, he said they confirmed it was the right sandwich, just with the wrong sticker. I'm so glad I took pictures because I couldn't remember the name of the dish I had ordered. Upon looking back, I saw that the dish was actually called "Wrap It Up," but the description didn't clarify that it was a wrap--especially considering it was on the burger menu. I'll admit that I assumed it was a burger, but a clearer description would have helped. As for the oyster mushrooms, they weren't crispy as I had hoped, which was a bit disappointing. When the gentleman took my order and gave me the option of deep fried or sautéed, I couldn't believe my hears! But of course I want them deep fried, Sir lol I can't completely write them off just yet because I still have not tried their vegan burger! Before I visited this establishment, I was a little off put by the concept of junk vegan food, though intrigued. I'd heard such good things about Slutty Vegan in Atlanta and when it opened here, I went. Kudos for the ambiance and style of the place. Bold colors and graphics abound. The employees yell out some kind of code about sluts when people walk in, which cracked me up every time I heard it. I definitely rank employee interaction there high, as I had a good time ordering. That accounts for my two stars. This place is tiny, there is virtually no seating. There's a short bar with maybe 2-3 stools, and 2 tables with banquet seats which can only accommodate 4 adults, maybe. There were approximately 6 burger options. I went with the dancehall queen, which features jerk plantains. I also went with some drink recommended by the employee who took my order. Food came out fairly quickly, and I picked up my bag from the counter. I immediately recognized the fries were excellent. Then I went to unwrap the burger from the wrap. I could tell right away it was going to be super messy to eat, a situation where I wouldn't want to put the burger down once I picked it up. A burger that disintegrates because it's got so much crap on it (in this case cheese and other sauces). And despite all the extras put on the burger for flavor, the patty tasted like absolutely nothing to me, very bland. The biggest flavor pop was from the jerk plantains, but that wasn't enough to overshadow a flavorless patty. So, I'm still not sold on junk vegan, especially at $30 for the meal and tip. read more

Visited Bar Vegan and was pleasantly greeted by the bartender Meech. He explained how to order and how of course the food menu is vegan and also the entire drink menu. I tried a Strawberry Bourbon Smash. 1st drink as it comes and my second with ASAP Rocky's whiskey, both were good. I wanted to sit at the bar and get a burger but those weren't on the bar menu, I thought it would be atleast one. :-( And we were told the food from Slutty Vegan can't come over to the bar. I'd heard Slutty Vegan was supposed to open a DC location, but sadly that never happened. Instead, they opened a location in Baltimore. My boyfriend and I took a day trip to Baltimore and decided to eat there on the way home. The menu is pretty limited--four burgers and a vegan "cheesesteak." I got the Dancehall Queen, but I couldn't eat the plantains because the jerk seasoning was a bit too spicy for me. So I'll try a different sandwich next time. I do like that all sandwiches come with fries. The Baltimore location has very limited seating--a small counter with four barstools and two two-seat booths. And although it shares a street number (and restrooms) with Bar Vegan next door, you aren't allowed to bring your food there to eat. I also don't like that the napkins are in little packets with a set of cutlery. If you're serving burgers that are likely to get messy, it would be better to have a napkin dispenser instead so people don't have to open multiple packets of cutlery. I guess a lot of their business is takeout. One more thing: Although the address is Distillery Street, the entrance is on Cromwell. I don't get up to Baltimore often, but when I do, I may stop in to Slutty Vegan for a meal on the way home. read more

There's not much seating and unnecessary confusion when there were no staff at the counter and no instructions on how to order. The food tasted fine, but not special. So they need to do a better job of advertising this as a carry out/to go establishment. There are no tables, do not expect to go in and sit down and leisurely eat. There are two maybe three booths that each hold 2 to 3 people and there's a counter with a few stools. Beyond that there's nowhere to sit, even though it is connected to Bar Vegan, there is a gate that separates the two restaurants so that you cannot just leisurely wander over to Bar Vegan to eat your Slutty Vegan food. I went on a weekday afternoon with two friends. We all ordered something different. I was disappointed that you cannot make any modifications. I quickly learned that I'm not a fan of the sauce that's on basically every burger. So finally after all the hype & 2 misses I finally made it to Slutty Vegan. And I must say I was thoroughly impressed. Upon entering the entire staff is in character. The welcome slut is a bit of a shock until you realize everything bout the establishment is slut themed. Disappointed but it is a new restaurant so maybe they're still figuring it out. Food was a little tasteless, atmosphere was simply not for me, but service was friendly. There are only about 8 seats for dine in (more outside when it's warm weather) so it is definitely mostly takeout. Since we wanted our food hot, my husband and I tried to dine in. We got a seat at the 4 person bar. It was... quite an experience. The music is so incessantly loud, you have to scream at each other. Then, everyone who comes in, the staff screams "hey slut" on the intercom, I don't personally care about that, but they screamed it at a little kid, maybe 8. I felt like maybe that wasn't necessary. That wasn't for me. With the booming music and screaming nonstop, I would not recommend eating inside. When we placed our order, the server was very friendly and explained they do not do ANY substitutions at ALL. Most importantly - our food was only ok, I thought the patty was a little tasteless and it was SO WET and messy. Mine had plantains which were nice but it seemed like the whole sandwich was thrown together (it wasn't even stacked neatly) and just covered with sauce, it was dripping wet. Just not an enjoyable experience. The fries were good! Similar to Shake Shack. The burger and fries without a drink is $20. To not have meat, I felt this was exorbitant. Even if it did have meat, it's exorbitant. It means to feed a family of 4 with drinks, you're spending $100 on fast food. Additionally, when I asked for a cup of water, they said they "don't do that." I am not sure I have ever been to a restaurant, especially fast food, that doesn't serve water cups. With the price of the burger, I was totally speechless. Ultimately, with the food quality, the constant screaming, and being extremely thirsty from salty fries, we didn't have a great experience. Today I found out I was a " virgin slutty vegan" and Renee Williams introduced me well. she introduced me to the Dance Hall Queen and some peach lemonade .. perfect perfect perfect.. and topped it off with banana pudding. I'm a 70s child you can't go wrong with that. She knew it... it's just recently coming off of root canal blessing she's blessing me with the right first meal. Ever since I've been to ATL & had Slutty Vegan, I was in love with their food. I was happy to find out they were coming to DC but that never worked out. Then end of 2024, finding out they will be officially in Bmore, I was beyond ecstatic and thrilled. Super Bowl Sunday I happened to be in the area, and before I left I remembered wait, Slutty Vegan is now here so I must go before the game starts. It's located in an upcoming area near the Carnival Cruise is located and of course by water. Such a beautiful location and space. I guess since it was game day, the line wasn't long at all and parking was a breeze. I guess everything worked out in my favor. The decor was beautiful, colorful and mesmerizing. I love how detailed and such an eye opener. It's connected to Bar Vegan which I thought was cool, I definitely need to check that out next time. The staff were AMAZING as soon as you walk in the door. Their smiles, attitudes and welcoming spirits are greatly appreciated and recognized. DANCEHALL QUEEN A vegan burger with plantains, definitely my favorite since ATL. I asked to remove only the tomato but sadly they forgot my onions which tbh took away from the taste I remembered. This time, it wasn't as tasty as I experienced it in ATL. The plantains wasn't cooked the same and it was way too spicy, just nothing like I've experienced. It wasn't horrible just not how I remembered and honestly could've been better. Maybe I need to come another day, nothing is perfect. SLUTTY FRIES Super crispy, hot and that slutty dust was everything. You don't even need ketchup it's so good... these fries are still good even after cooling down, and to top it off, it's crinkle cut, my favorite. VEGAN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE OMGGGG this cookie was super soft, sweet and has mini chocolate chips in EVERY bite. So heavenly and I'm so glad I got this. They didn't have banana pudding but I'm not mad since these cookies were perfect for me. Even though the line was short, it was a 20-25 minute wait after you placed your order. I don't remember it taking that long in other locations, maybe there were a lot of UberEats/DoorDash orders that needed to be made as well. Also, It was pretty expensive to not come with a drink. I do understand great quality comes with a price. Hopefully in the near future, they have happy hour deals, coupons and/or rewards. I definitely will come back the next time I'm in Bmore. I am grateful there's a Slutty Vegan drivable distance from me now. read more
