Mackenzie was a great bartender, food was excellent as always! All made for a most enjoyable evening.

No words can do Justice to what we and at least 6-7 other tables experienced last night. Seated at a tiny end table for 2 backing up to the bar at 8:15PM. Waitress finally comes over at 8:35 to take the drink and food order all at once. 20 minutes after being seated. We get water but no bread. Flag down another server for bread after about another 15 minutes. Still no drink but at least we have bread and water. No oil or butter with it. Chaos all around waitress and waitstaff. Bar could not get drinks out. We didn't get our drink order for over 1 hour. No lime in drink as ordered but hey at least there is a drink now. No signs of appetizer or entree. Now into 1.5 hours - 2 hours after seating, 5-6 separate parties got up and left!!! Valentines Day with reservation. Going home after 1.5-2 hours plus without a meal!! Have never seen anything like this before. Thought it was a SNL skit or was being punked. Table next to us left and went to go get pizza. Tried to get ETA on food order and waitress says no idea and was trying to get us to leave as well. We flag down a manager who says he pulled our ticket and would put it at the top. We are 3 hours plus into this now. Bar was there so got up from table to get another drink. Finally at 11:01 PM the order came out! How we hung in to wait for the meal I have no idea but it became a challenge at that point and meal was meh. Within 15 minutes we left. Again, words do not do Justice to this abomination of an experience. Ruined Valentines Day for many, many people. Embarrassing, rude, disrespectful and didn't seem to care. They did comp quite a bit and there were some good people that did seem to care. Hope they can turn it around because this used to be a great place. Owners need to do some serious soul searching on how this place is being operated in all areas. read more

By far the best steak dinner I've ever had at a restaurant. The steak was cooked perfect, mushroom gravy was the perfect consistency with the essential amount of salt for flavor but not over powering. The spinach was perfectly sautéd with the perfect ratio of garlic to spinach. Mashed potatoes were the perfect consistency. Ashley was a great server and was very attentive but not bearing. Went there for lunch on a Saturday. There wasn't a bar tender due to illness so we could only order beer or wine. Waited over half an hour for our wine to come to the table. When a bar tender did arrive we weren't notified until the manager overheard us conversing with the waiter. The waiter was pleasant enough but certainly not knowledgeable or personable.The food also left much to be desired. I have been there many times and hope this was just a bad day for them, but I won't be going back for their lunch service . read more

This restaurant is beautiful inside and has a fairly expansive menu with lots of options. Ive heard a lot of great reviews from a couple that my girlfriend and i are friends with, so I thought we would give her a try when we were out in the area one night. My girlfriend and I walked in without a reservation, but we were fortunate enough, but they still had some tables available and we seated right away right by the front door. I wasn't a fan of the location of the table being so close to the door but it wasn't as awful as I thought it would be having been seated there. The service was great from our waitress and she brought our food to us pretty quickly after we ordered. I ordered the chicken marsala as I'm a huge fan of that dish, so I like to try it out as many restaurants as possible I've had it so many places That I consider myself a connoisseur of it, but this version of it was only OK. It was a little bit dry and the flavor was lacking. Also, it wasn't bad, but it really just wasn't good either. Overall, this was a nice restaurant and I'll definitely go back and try some other menu items, but I won't be ordering the chicken marsala again. Some of my favorite foods have been eaten here. The ravioli in the macadamia cream sauce with veal was divine and needs to come back! Please! The farmers special appetizer to this day remains one of my favorites. I don't think I'll ever forget the first time I tried it. Service is usually very good, though I will say with takeout we have had a few issues. Ambiance is fine. Wouldn't put it in my top 10, but the patio is pretty in the warmer weather and they did a lovely job with the renovations overall. Got in for a 6pm reservation. For my 4 year anniversary with my girlfriend. Service was slow, and we were warned there was a whole new kitchen staff. Which is fine, I have no problem waiting for a decent experience when it comes to food and service, but it was anything but that. The menu was shortened to how it usually is, and at first I order the starters and specify that my girlfriend is vegetarian. We ordered the Cheese Ravioli for my girlfriend and whatever the four cheese gnocchi was I ordered. First, was the starters. The fried mozzarella and the steak tenderloin crostinis were good, and the drinks we got were good. However, when we were handed our pasta, not only was my order wrong but my girlfriend's was too. The ravioli she had been given had lobster in it, and she started having a reaction to it. Needless to say, I mentioned I was unsatisfied and that my girlfriend and I would not be back. It's not about the price of any of this, because my girlfriend really is good enough for anything she wants, but if you value and love your dining experience and want you and your partner to have a nice meal, look elsewhere. Siena in Smithfield is a far nicer Italian experience. Genuinely the worst dining service I have ever experienced, crazy at this price point. Also, we were there for over 2 hours. How this place has changed since it was sold. We weren't really regulars but went enough over the years to say we knew how good it was. Went about a month ago for my wife's cousins daughter's first communion. Started off on the wrong foot when I ordered a rum and coke with no fruit. Drink came with a lime, I detest limes, and when I told the server I said no fruit his reply was, "oh, it's just a lime". Not a good start. Ordered the Italian egg rolls. Hardly any filling and really greasy. Could tell the fryolater oil hadn't been changed in a while. For my entree I ordered the shrimp and risotto. OMG, the shrimp tasted like they had gone bad a week ago. Gagged on the first bite and spit it out. To replace my entree I ordered the eggplant rollatini appetizer. All I could taste was vinegar. Sent that back as well and decided not to chance anything else. Meanwhile my wife had ordered the chicken Marsala. Disgusting would be an understatement. Felt like chewing on a rubber band. Only the rubber band had more flavor. We sent that back as well and decided not to order anything else. We ate rolls and drank my rum and coke, no lime this time, while everyone else ate. I'm going to keep this short because I have not experienced indoor or outdoor dining here due to Covid. What I will say is both of my takeout experiences with this establishment have been nothing short of awesome . We ordered over the phone and orders were ready in a timely manner. When I got there to pick it up, I saw that the restaurant was busy, both indoor and out. All employees wore masks. The entrees as well as the smoked mozzarella appetizer was delicious. A decades-long favorite has changed hands -- and the new ones are in the process of turning this former "sure thing" into a "must miss" mess. My favorite black ink pasta and squid, once a uniquely seasoned red sauce over perfectly prepared calamari and squid ink pasta shells was presented during a recent dinner as a flavorless, thinly sauced, reduced portion abomination. The Itri "egg rolls", original small wraps of sausage and rabe, are now contorted capsules of gooey cheese -- wallpaper paste without the charm. This is so very sad. Your chow forces a final ciao. We had a nice time at Caffe Itri. Service was good, food was good but not great. Stuffed artichokes needed more flavor besides the breadcrumbs. My chicken marsala was good but lacking that special Marsala flavor. My friends had pasta dishes which they liked. We all had leftovers so 2 meals for 1! My wife and I moved to Johnston, RI a couple years ago and accidentally came across this wonderful restaurant, happy accident! The restaurant itself is rustic feeling and very inviting! You're greeted as you immediately arrive and they are always smiling and happy to help. My wife and I have dined both at the bar and tables. Both are equally wonderful. The service is beyond outstanding, really is the kind of service you'd expect in the North End of Boston, they go above and beyond. The bar is not large, you can be a bit squeezed for space. The food is beyond tremendous. You have to start with the Smokey mozzarella triangles, best I've ever had, and Italian food is simply my favorite, these are a can't miss. Veal Parmigiana is also among the best I've ever had, it's that good. Breaded to perfection, the sauce is into intoxicating but not over powering. The cook is just also perfect and it almost melts in your mouth. You have to go with their freshly made homemade pasta! Thank me later! And, their Chicken Parm is also tremendous. We are pretty much regulars at Itri. The food and service are great. Even though they do have a new owner, it's still a great restaurant.

we had the most awful experience! I had made a reservation on Wednesday for a party of 6. The reservation was for 7 pm. Mind you when i made the reservation over the phone it wasn't asked for indoor or outdoor. We arrived there before 7 pm and we waited. The older man who I am assuming was the manager wasn't pleasant at all. He told us to go take a seat at the bar to wait. So we go to the bar to wait and the bartender who was a young lady w black hair asked if we were ordering food or drinks. We told her the manager told us to go have a seat at the bar. This chick was rude was hell and said oh there'a seats behind the bar area and not to occupy her seats at the bar because she wasn't making any money from us! so we moved. then the older lady who was the hostess told us because of the rain they were back up and we would have to wait. she said there would be free appetizers on the house. ok so we go back to the bar trying to get the rude bartenders attention. she didnt even pay no mind. another worker came by and we asked her a question n she went to "find out" and didnt come back for 10 mins n when she did come back she didnt pay no mind either. until i finally waved her down and asked again and she still didnt know the answer! As we were waiting people were coming in and getting seated. no problem. nobody came to take our appetizer order! Now it's 45 mins later and still nobody working there knew when we would be seated or what was going on. This was the worst experience! When we got up and left, the manager man said they had a table for us that was after almost an hour of waiting. Never again. The staff were rude and not attentive! I am all set! Their customer service needs a lot of help. they ruined my night and appetite. We got amazing customer service and care at Marchetti's and they were able to take us in right away! read more

Dined at Caffe Itri this evening with a dear friend. We were both not impressed with our dinners. I ordered Shrimp Carbonara. I was extremely shocked at how bland this choice was; I had to add a lot of salt. The cream sauce was watery and lacked richness and flavor. My friend order the bolognaise. Where was the meat? He enjoyed the sauce but was disappointed in the lack of meat. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated but the volume in the place is beyond loud. We could barely have a conversation with each other. The waitress had to shout the daily specials just so we could understand her. They owners should hand some tapestries to help lessen the noise. Love it here! I have been here twice and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience both times. The atmosphere is nice, it's not too noisy and the staff is very friendly and informative. The menu font is a bit small so don't forget your glasses! In menu terms you really can't go wrong with anything. It's authentic Italian (so everything is good). I ordered the margherita grilled pizza as an appetizer to share for the table. The pizza is very light, and the sauce divine. It doesn't leave you feeling too full for dinner as the crust is extremely thin. For dinner I had the fussilli chicken asparagus pasta. The vodka sauce on the pasta was light and buttery. With just enough spice and not too much cream or garlic. The pasta cooked fresh, was perfectly cooked. I adore this place! A must stop every time I'm in Rhode Island ! read more

we have been going to Cafe Itri for 22 years and it was our favorite restaurant. we went for the first time under the new ownership and will not be returning. Service was terrible. we ordered drinks and had to ask 10 minutes later again for our drinks. we ordered the Itri egg rolls which were dry and overcooked . My husband had veal Parmesan that was so greasy he did not eat it. I had the chicken gorgonzola gnocch. I got 3 tiny pieces of chicken that may have been 3 ozs and so salty they could not be eaten with pesto that appeared to have no olive oil when made. I had an apple sangria that had basically no alcohol in it. it was also supposed to have apple cider which definitely was not there. all this at a cost of $100. needless to say we will not be returning which is such a disappointment. The new owners should take a serious look at their quality of food and service if they want to stay in business. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant. We made reservations and there was no waiting period. There was ample parking and they can accommodate indoor or out door seating. The food and drinks here are amazing!!! We got the calamari, smoked mozzarella, the caffe itri egg rolls and the eggplant rolitini for appetizers. I had the lobster ravioli as a meal. No complaints about anything and can't wait to go back and order it again!!! The banana foster martini's were all on point and they are hard to come by! Can't wait to return!!!! read more

More like 2.5. Came for bday dinner. They had no recollection it was my birthday despite my husband booking the reservation 3 weeks ago. Forgot my bday desserts; I (the bday girl) had to remind them. Total embarrassment. Also, waitress forgot my son's drink and didn't do refills on our beverages. Bus boy was awesome... he was the only attentive person in the entire place. Even the hostess was bad. I was generous with the "2.5" bc at least the entrees were good. We used to go here before but definitely have trepidation to go back when there's so many other good places to visit. It's sad when a good place goes down hill. I debated on writing this review, but i hope this will help them improve. And no, I do not want any credit or refund. Please give it to the outstanding bus boy. read more

We get take out from here. We got the bolognese and gnocchi one time. Highly recommend both. Caesar salad was delicious. Another time we got the house made chicken papadella with a delicious sherry sauce. The sauce was marvelous. We also tried the tiramisu which was very good. The cheesecake is delicious! Cafe Itri is a stellar Italian restaurant in the heart of Knightsville. It's a charming spot, with old world aesthetic, and helpful staff. You can tell it is a family spot based on the lovely portraits on the wall. They also make great drinks - I recommend their martinis, especially the Lucas apple martini. Though under appreciated, you should order the grilled calamari. You won't regret it. Finally, round out the evening with the delicious pastas. The sauce is *chef's kiss*.
