I thought I had high expectations for Caffe Panna going in and it was even better than I expected!!! I ordered the red flag with caramel, sprinkles, and panna. The tiny scoop was the perfect amount to satisfy my ice cream fix. I was so pleasantly surprised by the fact that 3 toppings were included for the $6.50 price (a scoop at Van Leeuwen's is more with none of the fixings!) The ice cream itself was the best I've ever had. Sooo creamy and flavorful. I will say the red flag felt a little too jam-heavy to me towards the end, but loved its cheesecake-esque flavor otherwise. The main reason it took me so long to try Caffe Panna was the daunting line... but even though it looked long we didn't wait much longer than 10 minutes (it was absolutely worth it). They also had an extra employee outside taking orders which was much appreciated to keep the line moving! I'll definitely be back here very soon. read more

Caffe Panna has one of the best, if not the best, ice cream I've ever had. It is so creamy and thick, and their flavors area always fun and innovative. I have yet to be disappointed! I also love that all their scoops come with panna (mandatory, must get), a drizzle, and a crunchy topping. It is a really fun way to personalize your sweet treat fully to your liking. On this day, I had the Blueberry Brioche with panna, fudge, and Oreos. THIS WAS AMAZING. The blueberry brought such a nice tartness to the sweet ice cream, and the panna is always incredible. The cream is soooso fluffy and light and adds the perfect sweet and richness to the dessert. The Tiny size is plenty, but it was delicious and I always find myself wanting more. I have been a regular here since the location came to Greenpoint. At first, it was a quick visit when the time felt right for a scoop or two. Then, I followed their instagram account and occasionally saw a story with interesting flavors, and went with intention. I'm now at a point where I check their IG story daily, waiting for the next best flavor to drop. Traditionally, I've been a Cookies n Panna warrior since the Grammercy days. I think the affogato with Cookies n Panna is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Get it with a heaping scoop of panna and your life will change. I've had many amazing pint flavors here, but I'd steer you away from the caramel or marshmallow centers. It can get a bit overwhelming (specifically thinking the banana pudding flavor they had that was one of two major flops, out of many successes). I have mixed feelings on the granitas, the coffee one that was a BK exclusive this summer was nice but I felt the granita was too liquid. I tried the melon one recently which had a much better consistency, but wasn't very flavorful. I also have been meh on their sundaes. The mango sticky rice was good but I think it was missing some condensed milk. The tiramisu was okay, but not super flavorful. That being said, I will never regret giving them my money. As a former manhattanite I prowled around the gramercy location frequently. It's fantastic that in BK Cafe panna has given me another location to prowl. Lines might look long but it moves fast. There's also just barely enough seating every time. The inside is pretty small but it's warm and has water and a restroom if you need it. Staff are very nice even if they frequently pronounce names wrong! Most recently had the sundae collab with fish cheeks. Peanuts and brioche were abundant! Delicious and a hefty serving. read more

My friend and I came here on a Saturday night around 9pm. The line was around the block but it moved fast and took less than 10 minutes. Since we got there right before they closed, they were sold out of a lot of flavors. I ordered a tiny scoop of Aud's Dream (sweet cream ice cream with peanut butter swirl). All scoops come with whipped cream, a drizzle (I chose fudge), and a crunch (I chose Oreo pieces). There is some seating inside, but most people just ate their ice creams on the sidewalk. I am not joking you, but this is my favorite ice cream EVER. I was in NY for a long weekend and had it two evenings in a row. Yes, the lines are log, but it moves. This location compared to the Gramercy Park has an indoor area with a bathroom. The ice cream is indeed sweet, very fluffy, and the toppings are so fun to try! The first night I made the mistake of ordering a flavor I wasn't particularly interested in and then got the olive oil drizzle (so that was more like a 3.5/5 experience). I learned. I adjusted my order the second time around to get an original size of Red Flag, more strawberry swirl, cream, and the graham topping. THIS WAS ELITE. I LOVEE the Gramercy location, so I had to pay the Greenpoint location a visit when I had dinner in the area. Long line, BUT it moves fast. After ordering at the register, you move to the next counter to wait for your order to be called. They also have a cozy indoor space next door that has a restroom. I got the Tiny, a perfect post-meal size, and ordered my usual fave, the Cafe Bianco Stracciatella, which has nice choc chunks throughout. I had my whipped cream on the side to try - it was good, but I was too full to finish it. My friend got their Red Flag, which has smashed graham crackers mixed to their strawberry ice cream, YUM! One of my friends love Caffè Panna, and it's her favorite dessert spot in the city. I've had it before with her and a few other friends at their Manhattan location. We stopped by a bit later in the evening this past Sunday, and there was only a short line outside. Unfortunately, they were out of most of their daily flavors, but we still enjoyed a couple of their regular options. RED FLAG The Red Flag is under their classics and is offered always. This is their strawberry swirl ice cream mixed with graham cracker crunch and topped with their panna (I think). It was a bit too sweet, but the strawberry and crunch went well together. The panna was very creamy and looked like a scoop of ice cream, with a texture similar to whipped cream. Overall pretty good, and the portion was pretty big. PBJ SOFT SERVE I think this is more of their limited edition/daily flavor. I'm not a huge PBJ fan, but I really enjoyed the subtle peanut butter and the jelly swirls mixed into the very smooth and light vanilla soft serve. It was also topped generously with graham cracker crunch. We enjoyed this one more out of the two. There are different sizes available, and I'm not sure which ones we got, but we paid a bit more than $20 for both after tax. The amount we got was a perfect amount to share among 4 people. Stopped by after lunch for a sweet treat after hearing amazing things about Caffe Panna and after having the hardest time choosing one flavor, I landed on the white sesame and fig, in the tiny size with olive oil and sea salt on top. Loved loved the white sesame ice cream which had sesame seeds mixed into the ice cream, giving it an amazing nuttiness and texture. The fig was also great, sweet and fresh, it added a great fruity flavor to the white sesame ice cream! I'll definitely need to be back to try the other gelato flavors and their seasonal sundae! Ice cream is my favorite indulgence. I would pick it over any other dessert. I would ( and have) eaten ice cream as the main meal. I cannot stress how particular I am about it. That being addressed, Caffe Panna offers the best ice cream in NYC. The flavors are incredible. Rotated weekly they never cease to amaze me with the creative, high quality flavors they serve. However, despite the incredible, unique stand out flavors that are on rotation their classics are above and beyond high quality, flavorful masterpieces of their own. When I am indecisive the classic chocolate with olive oil drizzle, sea salt and panna is my go to. Try it- you have to! There is often a long line, but do not despair, the counter servers move quickly and once you order at the cashier a server calls your name at the next window. There is some seating, a nice bathroom and always water available. Follow them on Instagram for the weekly menus and do not, I cannot stress enough, do not sleep on the sundaes! I honestly do not know how they keep coming up with these epic combinations but it is one win after another. read more

My favorite thing about Panna, other than the quality ingredients they use, would be the DAILY new pint flavors. Cherry Crumb Pie was my all time favorite. Golden Oreo Carrot cake, Cookies n Panna, and Berry Crunch were all so good. If there's a limited edition pint that speaks to you, order multiple to stock up on. The texture is perfect, and the service was fast and friendly. This Greenpoint location was more no frills in terms of the ambiance but I didn't mind at all since I'm just focused on the ice cream. We were second in line about 20 minutes before opening as the line was wrapped around by the time we got to order. Once you order, you will go around to the small cafe indoors to pick up your order and enjoy. The flavors here are ever-changing with some unique combinations. The texture of the ice cream is on the creamy and thick side. I ordered a Regular ($7 for 2 scoops) choosing the Blueberry Cornflake and Sesame Bagel flavors. Also, I grabbed a pint of the Cookies N' Panna ($14) to take home. The ice cream is yummy, but definitely pricey. This was honestly the food highlight of my recent trip to New York! The other negative was that they don't let you sample anything, and for so many rotating flavors I really don't see any justification for denying people even 1-2 small tastes.
