I've been coming to Cafe Weekend for coffee for a while now -- the Einspänner is still my go-to and never disappoints. Finally made it in early enough to try the food since it's usually packed. Be warned: the menu is a lot. It's slightly overwhelming at first and the portion sizes aren't super clear. The space is also pretty tight -- they've definitely maximized seating -- so it feels cramped when it's busy. Service had that subtle "we need this table back" energy. Not outright rushing, but you can feel the turnover pace. Food-wise, the specialties looked massive, so we ordered less of those and opted for sides instead... which somehow ended up being even more food than we expected. Portions are generous. Everything was good and solid, nothing mind-blowing, but I appreciated that it wasn't greasy. The hashbrowns were a standout -- more reminiscent of a Jewish potato latke than your typical diner hashbrown, and absolutely worth ordering. Overall: great coffee, solid breakfast, big portions. Come early, eat efficiently, and you'll enjoy it.
This place is really good! I think the people who own it are Korean, but the food is all pretty typical American fare. It's good! The eggs Benedict was perfect and the combo of English muffin and Canadian bacon was perfect. The service was nice too. The citronnade was really perfect for a hot day. My partner enjoyed his caprese sandwich a lot. The food was overall simple but well done!
Really solid breakfast overall and definitely a place I'd come back to. The pancake was unique and super fluffy, easily one of the highlights of the meal. On the weekend special, the portion size was generous, especially with the amount of meat included. Tons of bacon, sausage, and ham, which made it feel like a great value. The eggs were supposed to be over easy but a little less runny than i would've liked. The drop the eggs sandwich came with nice fluffy eggs and paired really well with the special sauce, which was sweet and delicious. The weekend latte was excellent. Tasted like it was 1000 calories in the best way possible The only downside was the potatoes. They were pretty hard and lacked seasoning and flavor, which stood out compared to how strong everything else was. Overall, a really enjoyable meal with a few standout items and just a small miss on the side. Definitely worth checking out, especially for brunch.
I was looking for Brunch restaurants in Boston and came across Cafe Weekend. Me and my fiancé got lucky to get a table for 2 within 2 minutes. This cafe is small but nicely decorated. From the drink to the food, everything looked good. I ordered the Pink Lemonade, Strawberry Pancakes, Home Fries and Bacon. 10/10 on everything. The fresh Strawberries on the Pancakes were delicious. If we lived here, we would come every week!
Great customer service! When we mentioned it was our first visit, they happily recommended a few dishes. Pictured here is the **Drop the Egg**, which was delicious--definitely on the spicier side if you enjoy a bit of heat. I also ordered the **Western Omelette**, which was hearty and very satisfying, perfect if you're looking for something more filling.
This is a casual food spot that is a popular brunch spot. Even on a weekday, it gets quite crowded here. The staff were nice to us and allowed us to move to a table once someone left but this place is seriously small that I would say a party of 2 ppl is the max I would be comfortable with here. I got a hash brown sandwich and it is everything you can ask for in a carb heavy brunch item. Although it is mostly savory, it was a nice touch of sweetness in the sauce and bread that breaks up the saltiness. Drinks wise, both my friend and I were not a fan. They were pretty basic with nothing special about them and could've done without them. Matcha latte was super sweet and is not made with great matcha.
What a cute spot! Wow! This past Sunday myself and 2 friends decided to get some brunch. We arrived around 11 am to see a group of 15 or so people waiting around outside. I popped in and adding us to the waitlist through the kiosk. There were 17 parties ahead of us and it took about 40 minutes to get a text that we were ready to be seated. The inside is decorated well given the small size. What it lacks in space it makes up for in vibes, however! The menu was perfectly extensive, large but not TOO large. Sometimes diner menus can be a bit overwhelming and this wasn't the case. My crew struggled between the sweet and savory route so ended up going with both, duh. We split an order of the soufflé style nutella and banana pancakes for $16. They were thick, crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. The bananas were ripe and sweet. There was the perfect amount of nutella and powdered sugar. 12/10. 6 stars. I then got the avocado toast with a poached egg. Typically avocado toast is not worth the price, which was $14 in this case, but Cafe Weekend knows how to give you your money's worth. The slice of toast was practically the size of the plate and there had to have been 2 avocados on there in terms of the spread. The arugula parmasean side salad was a great touch. My poached egg was cooked to perfection, although I wish I had a second given the size of the toast. Now I know! I would wait 40 minutes any day to eat here! Worth every minute/penny.
This cafe is unlike any other I've been to--open from early in the morning to late at night, they serve up a variety of dishes and drinks perfect for any time of day. Not to mention, their popular breakfast menu is served all night long!! Pancakes for dinner? Yes please! As a college student, this spot has been on my radar for a long time for obvious reasons. Although I tried to go for breakfast once and they were absolutely packed, finally getting the chance to go for dinner was lovely! The vibes at night are chill and calming as can be, so you can enjoy a focused and relaxing comfort meal ranging from pastas to burgers and all filled with a korean inspired spin on classic favorites. Additionally, the service is incredibly warm and accommodating, really making you feel right at home. While their dinner was great (I genuinely have no complaints about the flavors or quality at all), at the same time, it didn't blow me completely away. The burger had a unique sweet kbbq sauce that was amazing, and the toowoomba pasta was a special blend of tasty alfredo with a spicy twist. However, I will say, everything sat very heavy in my stomach, so this is definitely a dinner to share or one to enjoy when you're really feeling hungry. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the overall dining experience here which was unlike any other. For the atmosphere alone, I'm already planning to come back, and of course it helps that their food is as crave-worthy as it is. Overall, if you're curious about the dinner I'd certainly give it a try (you won't be disappointed), but my plan is to come for breakfast or lunch next time because I'm going to guess (since it's what their known for) that it's even better!
I love exploring new brunch places as it's my favorite meal of the day! There's a bit of a wait over the weekend but not too bad. The place itself is small and the bathroom is located in the downstairs basement (be careful of going down the stairs). Weekend Special - pretty standard Savory Bomb on the bagel - too creamy, very heavy Blueberry Pancakes - pancakes were soggy Weekend Latte - standard iced coffee I regret not ordering the shakshuka, however I can't justify driving into this neighborhood just to wait in line for weekend brunch.
Lovely brunch spot in good old Allston! It's small diner place but fits tons of people - and table turns fast like Korean style! The service was attentive and fast, understand that it is super busy but they will try their best to serve you :) When we visited during busy Saturday noon, we put our name into kisok thing and got notification that our seats were ready in about 5 mins! We ordered - Egg and cheese sandwich: sponge bread with fries egg and cheddar cheese, yum - Pancakes (original): soufflé style, also delish - Blueberrry and cream cheese croffle: good but wish cream cheese was melty, we might try nutella one next time! Overall, it was great experience and we'd def comeback!! Also they have dinner menu which I didn't know, can't wait to try their pasta
The service was fantastic, really friendly staff. The place is small, there are high tables, sit down tables, and a counter that faces the open kitchen. We ordered a sandwich plate, the shakshuka, and a croque madame. drinks were a couple the weekend latte. sandwich was served with house potato. The bun on the sandwich listened with generous servings of butter. The potatoes were fried to crispy the house sauce was tasty. the shakshuka, as someone else mentioned, is a dish from canned goods. The flavor is there, the freshness is not present, and that makes a huge difference on the overall plate. the croque madame is a typical ham and cheese sandwich with a sunny side up egg on top. the weekend latte was rich and creamy, the coffee in it was strong. overall it's a good place. the food is cooked right. the service is friendly. looking to try the pancakes on the next visit.
Best breakfast spot--they really do make every day feel like a weekend. We went on a Tuesday before heading to the airport and after reading the reviews. The cafe was small and homey feeling it was really cozy. The staff was so friendly and helpful with us deciding which croffle to try. It was fabulous!! The weekend latte was so delicious and flavorful it was a perfect morning treat! We started with the blueberry croffle ( delicious would get again. My husband got a sausage egg and cheese with two hash browns it was ginormous but he really enjoyed it. I had the drop the eggs and couldn't recommend enough!! It was amazing!! The bacon was thicker and high quality, the eggs were fluffy, and the sauce really just was life changing. Would pay for the recipe to have it everyday!

The customer service was excellent from start to finish. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about the guests. The food was delicious and well prepared. Portion sizes were very generous. For the price, the value was outstanding. Everything felt worth what we paid, if not more. It's been a long time since I experienced such great service at a restaurant. Overall, it was a very satisfying and memorable dining experience. read more
My go-to place in Allston after a meal for coffee!!! Their weekend latte stands out the most and I have got it so many times. It is on the sweeter side and reminds me of the once trendy Dalgona coffee. I recently also tried their cream latte and definitely on the creamier side just like the name - I like how the espresso taste stands out too. Baristas are always very friendly! It is a tiny but cute place and there is a lot of seating for a small space; there is also bar seating as well. They also serve brunch and dinner. I have tried their brunch once and I remember their shakshuka really standing out (I can't find the picture sadly). I recommend this place for either a quick coffee and pastry or a meal! It can get really packed on weekends and you might have to wait for brunch. -9/10 read more

Had been to Cafe Weekend once before to get brunch takeout years ago; glad we came back to try their new dinner menu. We ordered the kimchi arancini, weekend burger plus French fries, and toowoomba pasta - TASTE: 4/5 - the toowoomba was the star of the show w its comforting sauce, tasty shrimp, and flavorful mushrooms. Enjoyed the kimchi flavor in the arancini and the burger's Korean beef bulgogi patty TEXTURE: 5/5 - the arancini had nice contrast w its kimchi filling and crunchy, deep-fried coating. The burger was saucy (and messy lol) w perfectly-fried fries. Again, pasta was 10/10 in texture w rich, creamy sauce, tender linguine, and the satisfying bread bowl to soak up sauce PRICE: 4/5 - subtotal wasn't bad, came to $41. Wasn't expecting $4 for the side of fries though SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - the pasta was enormous! Couldn't believe the value of that dish lol SERVICE: 4/5 - space was empty when we walked in at 5:30pm on a Saturday. Our waiter was friendly, and food started coming out 20-30min after we ordered ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - lots of tables and seats packed into the Cafe Weekend space, plus cute wall art. Within the past month I've been here three times for breakfast. The food is delicious every time! This cafe is one of the few places where I clean the plate and leave no crumbs. The staff is always friendly and polite. It's well packed in there so the ambiance will depend on when you go. Early weekday mornings are best if you're looking for a quieter and less crowded experience. I highly highly recommend! read more

Both paninis were delicious. I'd definitely prefer the fig and prosciutto since I like the sweet and salty combination. My daughter loved her caprese. The coffee was ok. I think the espresso shot was not strong enough but that is personal preference. We came on a random. Thursday morning and were the first customers there. They had lots of pick up orders already so the workers took a while to tend to us but they were very nice. The cafe was nice spot to hang and talk. read more
Brunching in Boston has been more meh than my annual performance review and cafe weekend is no exception. There's always an inherent excitement when you hear Korean American fusion food because who doesn't have a lil too much Koreanboo in them nowadays? Their must order dish is probly the Toowoomba Panini ($17). They took the hit dish from Outback and made it better as they always do by adding stuff like soy sauce and Gochugaru (duh). Taste just like a saltier and less heavy version of Alfredo sauce to me. There're a few shrimps and mushroom slices in the sauce. Maybe they realize this sauce is salty af so they throw in some under proofed ciabatta bread and overly seasoned arugula. The portion is decent so it does also get heavy and greasy at the end (or after 3 bites). The fig prosciutto panini ($14) sounds like a good idea, who doesn't like a sweet savory sandwich? It tastes just like how you'd imagine it. Idk how but the fig is more overpowering than the prosciutto so it's on the sweeter side. The matcha basque cheesecake ($8.5)is also pretty meh, kinda dry and bland with a hint matcha flavor. The taro latte and the weekend latte ($5.45) are both decent, refreshing and not super sweet. Service was kinda slow but pleasant. With the slow service and limited seating space there's always a wait. read more

Nice cozy place! Be warned that if you come here on the weekends (and want breakfast/brunch) make sure to come early as this place fills up fast. We sat at the counter which was nice to see the owner and cooks making the magic happen! Items we ordered (as of 3/2024): - Strawberry Pancakes - $13 - Huge in size. Texture was fluffy and the strawberries added a nice natural sweetness. Only wish the pancakes had some more sweetness to them as they were a bit one note. I'd likely try another pancake in the future. - Shakshuka - $15.50 - On the note of huge in size, this dish is enormous and can definitely be shared. There is a nice spice to this dish and really hit the spot on the cold and rainy day we had it. While not spicy at first this spice will really ramp up as you eat this! Be warned if you're not a spice person. This went great with the pancakes! - Smoked Salmon Sandwich - $14.50 - This was my favorite. The croissant was perfectly flaky and paired well with the smoked salmon. Quantity was also great. Overall we enjoyed our meal and look forward to coming back and trying their other menu offerings in the future! read more

Don't let the line outside the restaurant fool you, it was a quick wait to get in. The menu has a few breakfast classics and speciality dishes if you wanted to try something new. The shaksuka came out piping hot with a a bit of spice added from the hot peppers. The interior is quite small so best to go with a small party and don't be surprise if your order comes out at different times. read more
Toowoomba Panini 5/5 Blueberry Cream Cheese Croffle 4.2/5 Shakshuka 4.2/5 Prosciutto, fig, and arugula panini 4/5 Matcha Croffle 3/5 Love this place for brunch! Only downside is that it is a little bit on the pricier side for what you get, but it's at a convenient location in Allston. It's a small place with maybe seating for ~25 people and can get chilly inside because of how small the place is and there being no double door. If you're looking for dish recommendations, the Toowoomba panini is quite good. The crunch of the bread with the sauce they have on the side is a match made in heaven! Their blueberry cream cheese croffle and shakshuka are also quite good. I've never had any issues with service. Our orders have always come out in a timely manner. Regarding parking, there's 2 hour parking in a small lot across the street or metered street parking available. read more

Breakfast all day? Who could not love it? Cafe weekend breakfast options throughout the day and night but don't sleep on their full menu. I had been here once a long time ago and remembered how nice the owner was and I had a similar experience this time around. The space is pretty small but they've done a great job with the seating. There is nice ambient lighting that makes you feel like you are inside of a lava lamp during the evening when the sun comes down. They have a lot of delicious drinks and so I went for the einspanner despite never really having coffee. It was really good and the cream on top was yum central. The shrimp burger which I worried about getting because I have not had great experiences with seafood sandwiches was delectable. Hella messy from the sauce but I ate every flavorful bite. My friend got the boston cheese steak which I tried and considered stealing from her because it was slapped. They were even nice enough to let us try the funnel fries dessert complimentary which i fought to finish as everything was so filling. It's really chill on the weekdays but if you go on the weekend keep in mind they do get very packed. This place is a gem. We came up from Florida and read great things about Cafe weekend. Between the 11 of us I was able to try almost everything. Everything was amazing. I had the Drop the eggs with home fries and arugula salad and it was the best bacon egg and cheese sandwich I've ever eaten. The Taro cheesecake..OMG! Service was excellent despite every seat in the place taken. The music and the view of the street traffic was a perfect welcome into urban Boston. read more
This looked better in the pictures. Seriously speaking, we went on our trip to Boston, and then found that this was relatively nearby Boston University. As a result, lots of college kids. That should've been our first clue. The place is modern. They do Yelp as a means to keep track of their waitlist. Score there. They were pretty savvy with this and the ambiance is quite clean. As for the food, everything looked gorgeous, but admittedly we have had better. That and they clearly don't follow directions. I forgot what it was that they brought me, but I had to correct them that I ordered the avocado toast. Regarding said avocado toast, tasty, but it was not the best I have had. Maybe I ought to have opted for the cruffle or pancakes, but my companion had the pancakes and I had a bite, and well, they were just okay. I think the reason this place is popular is the proximity to the university and that they have many specials. Just look at the tables and you'll see what I mean. read more
Cute, small, and busy. The staff are nice & there's a partial "open kitchen". You'll definitely leave smelling like the grill. Fair warning the food takes a while to get to you. The matcha drink I got was good. But I feel that I may have ordered the wrong dish, because it didn't match the hype of this place. Would definitely try something new if I returned. read more

Cafe Weekend is located on 120 Harvard Ave in Allston, Brighton. My family visited on Tuesday morning to avoid the weekend rush, still, the restaurant was packed the morning of the visit with only one or two available table for four remaining. I'll start with the amazing coffee. I ordered the Einspanner and highly recommend this. The cream was amazing! My husband had the buttercream latte which was good but mine was definitely better. For breakfast items, we ordered the Shakshuka for my son, the egg Benedict with smoked salmon for myself, and chocolate chip pancakes for my daughter. Although I have had better Shakshuka at Tatte, the Shakshuka at Cafe Weekend was good in its own way. It was plentiful. You get three huge meatballs, lots of cheese and sauce, with added peppers, and two toasts for dipping. The egg Benedict was good. Although not soufflé pancakes, the chocolate chip pancakes were addictive. The service was amazing, very quick, friendly, and attentive. I'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu. read more
Always wanted to come here and we went during a weekday lunch so there were plenty of open spots! The sandwiches we got were so good. The toowoomba sandwich was particularly memorable and so good. I would come here again for desserts and other brunch menus. It is run by Koreans so that was really cool to see, along with them being super friendly! - great place to just sit and talk with a friend - the man working there and serving us was incredibly nice, patient and helpful when we had questions! - street parking available - no bathroom - got drinks and dinner here, would try to come back for the drinks and brunch instead of dinner - matcha einspanner: was good but okay! Didn't taste like ceremonial matcha powder being used but it was still decent despite this - weekend latte: so good! Would come here to get this again. Looked kind of like a dagona - olio e aglio: was apart of the dinner menu. Tasted decent - bolognese: preferred this over the olio e aglio Would come back again to try other lattes and the brunch menu instead! :) read more

Shakshuka 4/5 Toowoomba Panini 4/5 ~First Impressions~ This place is always crowded during brunch time. People are lined out the door and the space inside is pretty cramped. We were only able to get bar seating, all the way in the corner at the time. But the atmosphere is electric and bustling. It was a fun place to be in! ~The Food~ The Shakshuka and Toowoomba Panini were both super savory dishes. The flavors were great, but super heavy. I wish we ordered something else that could cut through the depth of these dishes. The pairing was really good though, being able to dip the panini in the shakshuka for a little extra burst of flavor. I've been here before at night as well. They are definitely much more quiet and plenty of space when coming in for some desserts. Their cakes and waffles aren't too bad with a hot cup of coffee (yes I came at night for those oops). ~The Logistics~ There is plenty of street parking and also a parking lot right across the street. However, depending on the time of day, it gets pretty busy and really hard to find parking. I don't think they take reservations, so it's probably best to get there early if you want a seat for brunch. Otherwise, it can end up being about an hour wait. read more

I'm so happy we came early and got a table without a problem! This is a great place to come with friends for a cozy Sunday brunch. The decor and table setting was very trendy and the lively chatter and music in the cafe made for a nice ambiance. The waiters sat us at a hightop table and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. They came back to take our orders when we let them know we were ready but at times it was hard to grab their attention as the cafe got busier. When the food came out, some of it was at room temperature and not as hot as I expected it to be. Nonetheless, everything tasted good! One important note to call out is that the bathroom here is not ADA compliant. This was no issue for me but be aware you need to go down a flight of stairs to get to the single occupancy bathroom. read more
Food: Food was delicious. The eggs and sausage were cooked perfectly , pancakes were thick and fluffy, French toast was light and fluffy, and the smoked salmon sandwich was enjoyed. Service: Service was very good, the owner and waitresses/waiters were all super kind and positive. Ambiance: The restaurant is small but very cute. There were fun/artsy posters around the cafe. Negatives: The only point of improvement is that they need a bathroom available from the main dining area. Right now, customers have to walk through the kitchen and to the basement to use the restroom which causes concern for food hygiene. read more
Cafe Weekend is the a great breakfast/brunch option in Allston! And it's a spot that won't break the bank either. It was busy at 10a on a Sunday, but I was able to be seated quickly at the bar (I was by myself). You do check in with a tablet at the door, which I liked and the process was straightforward. The pink lemonade I believe has some kind of syrup, but it wasn't overly sweet (which I feared with the syrupiness at the bottom). It had a great balance of sweet and tart. I did get my drink quickly. I ordered the drop the eggs sandwich and it was everything I could want in a breakfast sandwich from a diner like atmosphere - slightly greasy and not skimpy on the eggs or bacon. The home fries are more like potato wedges. The guest next to me ordered the toowoomba panini and it smelt really good that I'll have to try it next time. I would definitely recommend Cafe Weekend. Not only would I come back for brunch but I would also be curious about their dinner menu. read more
I've walked by this place multiple times and never once was curious what they served here until I saw a reel on IG and got influenced. This unassuming cafe is full of surprises. I was taken aback by how flavorful, amazing, and addictive their pastas are! The atmosphere is casual but service is very friendly. This place can get very hot during the summer as their AC is lacking. But they make it up with their drool worthy pastas. This is a must visit for their pastas! You won't regret it. read more
Love this place. Small and cozy diner and the staff are amazing. They always give you a warm welcome when arriving and the entire staff gives you goodbye when you leave. Most remember your name too! Food is always amazing. Asian/comfort/dinner food I guess I'd call it? So good though. Big portions at a great price. The pancakes are amazing and thick and fluffy, but my favorite is the: Shakshuka- delicious homemade meatballs in savory slightly spicy tomato sauce. The shakshuka is better here than almost any other place I've had it, and at a far better price poont . 5/5! It also comes with some sour dough to soak up sauce or just pile food onto. Had a wonderful brunch with my mom at Cafe Weekend today! We came a little after 12 on a Tuesday and there was no wait with plenty of tables available. The servers were above and beyond friendly and accommodating. We felt so welcomed and attended to. Service 10/10. They have a really nice menu with a ton of options. Coffee was great. The drop the eggs sandwich was also very good. The brioche bun was perfect. So fluffy. Eggs and bacon cooked nicely. Had an interesting almost sweet sauce on it which I liked but there was a little too much. I subbed a side salad instead of the home fries which was really good. It had a nice dressing and parmesan cheese on top. The sweet menu items also looked delicious like the French toast and pancakes although we didn't get any of those this time. Will have to come back! Cafe Weekend is an awesome brunch spot in Allston. We were served by the adorable owner, which makes me want to support this place even more. We lucked out when we arrived at 11am and only had to wait 12 mins for a table for four. By the time we left, the line was out the door. Service was efficient and friendly throughout our meal. The Weekend Latte was the fan favorite, but portion size and taste of our dishes was perfect. Next time we will try the waffles and pancakes, which are beautifully presented (as they were carried by our table). Is there parking?
There is street parking near by but I didn't see any bear by lots .
If we go on a weekend morning will it be impossible to get a table?
Came here at 10am on a Saturday. Busy but not impossible for 1 to 2 people. We sat at the counter with no wait!
