I am sad to say that I can no longer give them five stars. I used to rank this as one of my top three Berkshire restaurants. But no more. First, the prices have really jumped. Last night I ordered sole that cost $44. Really? It was good but not that good. And, they have started to nickel and dime the patrons. $5 to share a salad? $3 per substitution? Really? The menu is less inspired than it used to be. And, while this was five stars, it is not there now.

Table Setting, not the best picture, but it was gorgeous.

I cannot recommend Cafe Triskele enough for their outstanding food and service. We hosted a surprise birthday party in one of their private rooms, and from the start of the planning to the end, working with Rebecca was enjoyable, professional and she made the event feel personal. The vibe itself is like no other restaurant in The Berkshires. The decor is classic and the colors are soothing. You can tell a lot of time and thought went into each decision-- it's beautiful. The food is beyond out of this world. As someone with allergies, I felt safe and confident with the staff's knowledge about the menu and food preparations. I cannot recommend the trout enough with the mashed potatoes being the best I've ever had. Also, their specialty cocktails hit the spot and the wines were a hit. Rebecca made the cake (with fresh flowers from TownshipFour) and it was stunning! The flavor, texture and presentation were on point and gorgeous. Her passion reflected in the quality and execution of the cake. This was the first time coming to Cafe Triskele and I will be back again and again. It is my new favorite spot.

Belvedere was the best reviewed but we found the total experience disappointing despite some bright spots. First off, Little Poland has a reputation for food not warm, chatty service. Even with a reservation, the Belvedere staff seemed unprepared and almost disappointed we showed for our late reservation. We waited an inordinate amount of time for a larger table to fit us was cleared, without anyone taking a drink order or doing much of anything. Drinks were small and watery. Things perked up with the best borscht we've tasted, although it's served warm not the traditional cold. The Caesar salad was huge and tasty but not sure why it's on a polish menu. The pierogis were just ordinary; light on filings and served with absolutely nothing else; they were also lukewarm. The Galumpki was more generous and tasty but the potato pancake with goulash was a complete miss. The pancake while large was over fried and acrid at the edges and you were hard pressed to find a decent chunk of beef or piece of carrot in the meager drizzle of goulash on top. $26.95 for this? The atmosphere was a bit sterile and didn't have that old world feel we were looking for; Miami vice and 80's music videos on the bar TV didn't help. We can't really recommend this spot to others.

There were just a few things that were a touch off. The restaurant is divided into at least two parts. I never made it into the second room. The first room was fairly nice. High ceilings. Red brick walls. Large-tiled floor. There was movie related art. I ate a quick lunch alone, but there was a table of apparent business colleagues dining there as well. Service was good. I don't usually do this because I feel like there are better ways to order in a Polish restaurant, but I ordered the Polish sampler. It was fairly typical. Hunter's Stew. Stuffed Cabbage. 2 Potato Pierogi. Kielbasa. And Potato Pancakes. The flavors of the Hunter's Stew and Stuffed Cabbage were good, but both dishes needed to be hotter IMO. The large potato pancakes were really crispy and enjoyable in parts, but they could have been more done towards the middle. They were cooked through, just not ideal. The pierogis were about average for a nice Polish restaurant. The kielbasa was good quality, but could have been a touch less done on the outside for me. I'll definitely return to Belvedere. I'll order one dish next time, as the various components of a sampler like this require great coordination so that everything is peak. Side note. They had amazing bread that you could buy for home use. I don't know the names of Polish breads, but it was nice-crispy on the outside and soft and fresh inside. 4 Stars

Cheerfully greeted by a nice person who was thrilled someone was trying her restaurant for the first time. Seemed it would be a pleasure! Banter! Joy! The location is adorable - an historic inn with lovely interior stone walls a nice bar, a dining room hung with farm implements and your usual skinny staircase and sunny porch. Absolutely thrilled by the continental and sometimes quirky selections (sweet and sour schnitzel? Why not!) Ordered quickly, letting the waitress know of time constraints. Half an hour later she brought the salad course. An hour after that, the manager or maître d' -- she never said but she did clearly have some authority and was the boss of the waitress--stopped by to inform the table that the delay was potato pancakes. The chef had apparently felt compelled to make a whole new batch of potato pancakes from scratch. And therefore it was our fault the food was taking so long. This would make sense if the table next to us wasn't also waiting twenty minutes for buffalo wings. And if our waters had been refilled. And if there were apologies rather than resigned excuses. The explanation landed like a desperate attempt at humor as the Titanic made a turn directly for the iceberg. No offer of even a comped cup of coffee, not a glass of wine, or even a sincere wish that things would go faster. We could do nothing but feel sorry for her and her staff in this wonderful little local inn and wonder who the monster was who is running the kitchen -- my beef stroganoff was terrific but the plate that made us late held a couple of small sausages, a large scoop of red cabbage and three jam-lid sized mashed potato fritters which could just as easily have been replaced by literally any starch... it was ninety minutes start to finish in this bizarre mystery of a restaurant. Was the chef on strike? Having a bad day? His front of house worked so very hard to cover for him. I have only sadness for this glorious little place - my favorite kind, locally owned, delicious dishes, deep pours. But I will only go back when I don't have a long drive ahead of me -- or perhaps for a laugh with people from the City who don't know how to slow down.

Eclectic upbeat music played in the background including light music from South America. The tapas menu looked interesting offering Brussel sprouts, tuna tartare, mushroom & squash toast, chicken liver mousse & garlic confit, just to name a few. I stopped by Isola late evening after driving all day to see the foliage. I sat up at the bar and was given a menu. For this posting, I stuck with food and got a glass of water. I picked out two small plates including the Sardine Toast ($15 plus tax) and Eggplant Caponata ($15 plus tax), which came out together in 10 minutes. Both plates were nicely presented. The Sardine Toast (2 pieces) served cold had sliced sardines with sundried tomatoes & whipped sweet ricotta on thin toast strips. The Eggplant Caponata served hot was comprised of chopped eggplant, tomato, peppers & pine nuts with a long slice of toasted buttery ciabatta bread. This was just enough food for a light meal. The check with Toast QR code was brought over which was $32.40 with tax and before tip. Overall, Isola seems like a great place for couples night out for wine and tapas. In my case, I needed some me time and I was able to sample some tasty plates.

The owner's love for the Italian islands shines through in the decor, ambiance, hospitable spirit of the staff and of course the food and wine selections. We tried almost everything on the menu - and I went back for a second ham and cheese croquette with a delightfully spicy pepper sauce. All of the food was perfectly prepared with creative and delicately balanced flavor combinations. My husband thought all the seafood dishes were fantastic and the chocolate torte for dessert paired with a bright sherry was amazing. The service was so upbeat and ontime, and the atmosphere, while cozy, quiet and intimate was also somehow bustling and we continually discussed dishes as they came out with the guests to either side.
