I am sad to say that I can no longer give them five stars. I used to rank this as one of my top three Berkshire restaurants. But no more. First, the prices have really jumped. Last night I ordered sole that cost $44. Really? It was good but not that good. And, they have started to nickel and dime the patrons. $5 to share a salad? $3 per substitution? Really? The menu is less inspired than it used to be. And, while this was five stars, it is not there now.

Table Setting, not the best picture, but it was gorgeous.

I cannot recommend Cafe Triskele enough for their outstanding food and service. We hosted a surprise birthday party in one of their private rooms, and from the start of the planning to the end, working with Rebecca was enjoyable, professional and she made the event feel personal. The vibe itself is like no other restaurant in The Berkshires. The decor is classic and the colors are soothing. You can tell a lot of time and thought went into each decision-- it's beautiful. The food is beyond out of this world. As someone with allergies, I felt safe and confident with the staff's knowledge about the menu and food preparations. I cannot recommend the trout enough with the mashed potatoes being the best I've ever had. Also, their specialty cocktails hit the spot and the wines were a hit. Rebecca made the cake (with fresh flowers from TownshipFour) and it was stunning! The flavor, texture and presentation were on point and gorgeous. Her passion reflected in the quality and execution of the cake. This was the first time coming to Cafe Triskele and I will be back again and again. It is my new favorite spot.

Best burgers and steak frites in all of Berkshires. Wine list is quality. Their desserts never disappoint. What's not to love?

Found this great little gem on our way back home from a road trip. Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby. Good prices for a great meal.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Berkshires. I love the way they prepare lamb. They always have wonderful cocktails.

Arrived at an off hour and seated immediately. Great server…read more Started with wings, potato pancakes and a salad to share. Everything was delicious; the salad was a standout to me. Mixed berries, walnuts, blue cheese crumbles with mixed greens lightly dressed....just right. Potato pancakes were no slouch though...thin and crispy with both applesauce and sour cream on the side. Not greasy! Wings were crispy and just spicy enough with plenty of blue cheese dressing to share. An odd number of wings showed up (11...thought it was supposed to be a dozen). We tried the spaetzle but could only have a taste...we got too full. Took it home and will enjoy it this week. Really nice experience-will definitely be back.

We started with the potato pancakes and a glass of Gruner Veltliner. I've eaten potato pancakes my whole life, theirs were good but lacking in salt. I rarely use salt so they were definitely under seasoned. I have no idea what my husband ate but I ordered the Kassler from the Oktoberfest menu. Kassler are smoked pork chops, slow cooked and served with sauerkraut. They came with potato salad. The pork chop was melt in the mouth gorgeous, the sauerkraut was delicious but the potato salad was cold and just okay. I had to bring mom back for the Kassler so we went a few days later. Mom had the Kassler with spaetzle and I got the Sauerbraten. Once again the food was outstanding. Both times we sat at a table looking out on Broadway, getting to watch the world go by. The service was great, friendly without hovering and really sweet. I can't wait to plan my next visit.

Although Poughkeepsie has a decent variety of excellent restaurant options, there aren't a lot of upscale places to select from. We opted to book reservations for Brasserie 292 for a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were nearing the end of the dinner rush. We were sat right away, unfortunately it wasn't all too romantic being sat in the middle of the restaurant but understandably the restaurant is on the smaller side. The waiter was attentive, and addressed any of our questions about the menu, even hunting down the bottle of pinot noir we ordered. We opted to start off our night by splitting a half-dozen oysters which came with their in-house hot sauce, and an order of pouple, which was cooked to perfection. For our entrees we selected the red wine braised lamb shank and the dry aged prime NY steak. Since sides for both entrees were not mentioned on the menu, we also ordered sides - wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts and crispy smoked peewee potatoes. Overall the food was excellent and I'm still dreaming about the mushrooms. If we lived locally, would we go back, maybe but overall we had a great experience. Since this was an upscale restaurant, I opted to not photograph our meals and enjoyed being present in the moment.

Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the kitchen. At one point, I noticed servers handling bread with their hands and then bringing out food without washing them, which was honestly unpleasant to see while sitting at my table. It made the overall experience feel less comfortable than it should have been. I'd still come back for the food, but I really hope the service and hygiene standards improve.

We were seated by the window and were given freshly baked bread. We ordered the French classics: mussels, escargot, duck leg confit, and steak and fries. The mussels came out first and were pretty average. I usually like sipping the wine broth it comes with or dipping fries/bread into the broth. The escargot had plenty of oil and seasoning. It was actually too salty even though my coworker requested less salt on everything. I enjoyed dipping the fresh bread into the oil. Lastly came the entrees. I was a bit disappointed in both of them. The hanger steak was cooked medium rare like I wanted but the texture was not great. I was hoping for a more tender cut and this was a bit tough and lean. The frites were cooked well and very crispy. The duck confit was very tender but I didn't think it was amazing. Overall I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant with so many other great options around. I might be biased as I am not too familiar with French cuisine but we already sampled most of the classics already.
