Vroom, yep, you missed it. You drove right past it. Okay, now that you found it...it is quite cozy inside. Nice sized bar and open window to the kitchen. The staff us bustling around with a purpose. So from what I could see, this is not good for large parties, but I think you can get maybe 6 people at a table. The atmosphere is very calm and casual. It is not loud and you can see and hear your dinner partners. The drink menu is pretty good. Beers, wines and mixed drinks. They will bring you out an order of bread and oil with seasoning. Be careful, they are amazing and very addictive. For the appetizers, we had meat balls and a stuffed mushroom(s), I believe. Bother were impressive. On the mains, I had a Chicken Saltimbuco (sp?). This was amazing. It is very hard to find a place that can pull this off, and they did. My wife had the pasta bolognese. We believe both were homemade and made that day. They were fantastic. So total bill with appetizers, drinks, mains and deserts came out to about $100 per couple including the tip. This is by far the best Italian food place I have been to in a long time. I've been a few times before but never wrote a review. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. It compares favorably with Bootleggers in Las Vegas. My wife and I went in on a Tuesday for no other reason than I wanted to try Cafe Toscano again. The place is well decorated, intimate and clean. They had a singer with a karaoke machine singing standards. He had a nice voice and the volume was perfect. The server saw to us almost immediately. The place is small but it was pretty busy with almost every table taken. She brought us garlic bread with a seasoned olive oil plate. The bread is very tasty and the oil perfected it. We started with the fried mozzarella. The cheese itself is soft and creamy but not a lot of flavor because it is fresh mozzarella rather than a smoky one but it was done just right and included a side of their awesome sweet marinara. I love their tomato sauce however, my wife is Sicilian, and her mom never cooked their sauce with sugar so, even though she has a sweet tooth, she doesn't like sweet sauce. I had the Wedding Soup while my wife had a simple salad with balsamic vinaigrette. The soup was a little bland, needing either salt or some parmesan. My wife ate the salad with no complaints, which is high praise. She usually either doesn't like some of the toppings or the dressing. She ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo, while I had the Lasagne. Both were excellent and with the large portions, we both had leftovers. Many kudos to the server; my wife likes a lot of parmesan on her Alfredo and not only did the server patiently grate a large amount on, but she brought back a side plate with a large pile of grated cheese on it without even being asked. Ordered TOGO, walked in to pick it up and the smell oh my Lord I should've just sat down and had my food there because the smell of everything coming out of the kitchen was amazing. I ordered the spaghetti aglio E olio with shrimp and it was very, very good in a very big portion. I also got a side caeser salad that was really yummy and their garlic bread knots are addicting. My wife called and made reservations for us, my son and her brother as a post-birthday celebration for 4:15 on a Sunday afternoon. We do like their food, but unfortunately they did not tell my wife that they had rented 75% of the room for a "private party" which included glass banging toasts that listed 10 minutes with emotional speeches and introductions with stories of all who attended. To make matters worse, the owner then overbooked the room, so the table we sat at was a large round metal patio table which was placed in front of the serving window. Since the party thought they were at a reception they felt free to walk around us, bump into our chairs as they visited one another, and one guest even picked up a chair and swung it over my son's head to get a better seat. Our table was positioned directly in the traffic pattern for the servers in addition to every trip to the bathroom! Our chairs were bumped more times than we can count, and it was so loud we had a challenging time hearing each other over the reception. When I asked for the owner, he was not available but came to find out he had been there the entire time and never once approached us to ask about our experience. It should have been made clear that they were having a large party prior to booking. So much for the quiet intimacy advertised on the website; instead we were uninvited guests to someone else's party. My wife and I were there last Friday night for dinner. We had no reservations. The manager offered a free glass of wine for our wait. Classy thing to do. Unfortunately my dinner was less than desirable. Ordered pasta and meatballs. Pasta was not cooked enough-too chewy. Dinner was cheerfully replaced with spaghetti and meatballs. Sauce was too light and sugary. Meatballs had too many fillers. Could not finish! We have eaten here many times before and were happy leaving. Don't know what happened this time. We saw that Cafe Toscano started offering carry out. Menu was a set price. Our meals were wonderful. I order pasta carbonara. When we got home I found the egg on top was perfect. Still soft. Given our standards are from living in Sicily, it's hard to impress. This impressed. A lot. Everything always huge portions, excellent taste, and immaculate service. I made made dinner reservations for my Aunt and myself, waited 45 minutes to be seated after our reservation time...another 15 minutes for our server to order drinks, appetizers and dinner. Ordered appetizers, waited almost 30 minutes, appetizers never materialized. After 90 minutes of waiting to be served anything but bread and garlic butter (that we had to ask the server for!) we just walked out. We had dined at Café Toscano twice before, but after this evening's utterly DISMAL customer service, will not return, nor recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

Not really impressed the chicken was two small pieces with so many artichokes very salty and the menus price was 12.00 but charged $15.00, not worth the $12.00 let alone what was charged, we went for lunch not very busy the waitress was so so spilled cheese all over the place when putting it on my plate and in my lap. Good italian food. Bit on the pricey side. However the last time i sat inside our waitress was very unfriendly and acted as if she didnt want to serve us. I dont know if thats because me and the 2 others i were with were on the younger side but in my opinion thats no excuse. Had dinner earlier this evening with my girlfriend and had a great time. Perfect place for a cozy and intimate dinner. I ordered the calamari friti for an appetizer. Calamari was cooked perfectly, but the batter was a little more salty than I would have preferred... but the plate was clean when I was finished. My GF got the sausage stuffed cuban peppers. Enjoyed the dish, peppers were not as hot as they have been in the past, but still a great appetizer. Dinner: I ordered the Lobster Ravioli With Scallops & Shrimp. Vodka sauce was rich with flavor that went well with the very plentiful raviolis, shrimp & scallops. GF ordered Chicken Alfredo with fettuccine. Dish required a little salt to enhance the sauce, but more than a generous portion of pasta and chicken. Our server was very attentive, but on the quiet side. Came here to have dinner for my little guys birthday. It was my first time there so I didn't know what to expect going there with two Kids (under the age of 3) during dinner time. To My surprise they were very accommodating to our kids and were very kid friendly. Our waitress was very nice and very good with menu selections. I originally got Cajun Alfredo with tortellini but the two didn't mix so well and became very salty. I told our waitress and she suggested to get the original dish. She was right and it was delicious. Husband got the bolognese and it was very tasty and meaty. The portions are huge by the way so there was good amount for left overs. Located in the corner of a small buildng along Aurora Road, this restuarant may not be glaringly obvious from the street, but once you taste the food, the quality and authenticity will not not be mistaken! The interior provides a calm, dimly lit ambiance, with white tablecloths and a vast wine collection on full display display. The service is friendly and prompt, and the menu consists of soup, salad, pasta, chicken, seafood, and pizza. Each entree comes with fresh baked rolls and an olive oil tampendade, which is a heavenly compliment! Such a disgusting experience it doesn't even deserve one star. We went out to dinner for my grandparents anniversary and my grandfather has dementia as well as is on medication where he cannot drink. We tell our server specifically to make sure even if he asks to not bring him alcohol. Instead she brings it to him without us knowing... charged us by the way and then continued to bring him refills as the table is yelling at her to stop. He ended up falling into a table and we had to carry him to the car and that night had to rush him to the hospital. The server is lucky if we don't press charges. I have owned both a restaurant and 2 banquet centers. I am very unforgiving when it comes to restaurants. Recently, after hearing some great comments on Cafe Toscano, we thought we would give another chance. Glad we did. Food was excellent. Felt bad for the gentleman who was in charge and the servers as they are experiencing the universal employee shortage. Unfortunately, some fellow Aurora residents were not very kind or understanding. Even though they were a little behind, they were pleasant and courteous. We ordered carry out and it was so hot we had to let it cool when we got it home. Keep up the great work. Our server was perfect, and I don't say that often! The food was very good!! The water was good. I say this because sometimes water does not taste good! Prosecco was good. The bread and dip - amazing! Addictive!!! Easily the best I ever had! The meatballs were good. The sauce is slightly different then I've ever had, but in a good pleasing way. The homemade raviolis were very good. Chicken Parmesan was very good. Pasta arabiata was very good. Get the extra sausage/pepper/onion- excellent with perfect spice. We will definitely be back! This used to be my go to place for special occasions. However, over the years the overall taste of the eggplant & goat cheese appetizer just isn't worth the 40 minute drive anymore. The breading was flavorless & the goat cheese wasn't as tangy as it used to be. Yet the polite customer service & the delicious garlic & cheese biscuits made up for it. I say that because the app does NOT provide the details of the phone or web. The reviews looked good from what I could see in the car so we went. We were NOT disappointed! We shared the calamari appetizer. Crispy fried tender and delicious! And enough for a meal for both of us. We took home about half. My wife ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara and I ordered the Lasagna. My wife's dish was HUGE and delicious but the standout for me was the lasagna. Also a large portion. It was so rich and creamy with cheeses. Layers of flavor. One of the best lasagnas I have ever had and I'm old! We both ate about half and will enjoy the leftovers for dinner tonight. The only miss here was the bread, but read my disclaimer at the top. I'm VERY picky about bread. It was not bad, but I doubt it's made there. It was just good. Sorry! I did eat it because bread is bread and I can't live without bread. Cafe Toscano is officially on the list of places that I will be going at least once a year. Out of all the Italian places we have been in the Cleveland area from Little Italy to Giovanni's in Beachwood, Cafe Toscano is in the conversation for best Italian food in Cleveland. We tried the crusted Arancini appetizer which was really great. It was like a ball of rice and mozzarella cheese breaded, fried, and topped with a Pomodoro sauce and more cheese shavings. I am not doing the description much justice. Be warned though, it is a heavy appetizer that could leave you full before you order the main dish. That also reminds me. Toscano isn't for diners in a hurry, which is great. They were in no rush to take our entree order, preferring to give us our drinks, get the appetizers ordered and take our time eating those before delivering the soup (me) and salad (wife.) The pace of the meal was just right between the courses. For the main course, I decided to keep it simple after the heavy appetizer. I got their spaghetti and handmade meatballs. The pasta tasted really really fresh, the sauce was good, and the meatball was really good. My wife had the lobster ravioli served alla vodka with shrimp and scallops. I don't do seafood, but it all looked great. The vodka was thick and full of spices. We didn't stay for dessert on this visit, but I am sure we will sometime in the future. Anyway, I give this place a rave review. The service was great. The atmosphere was great. The buildout of this restaurant with the dark woods and stone walls is classy and modern. If I had one small complaint it is that this place was a bit loud. Then again, it was really busy on a Thursday night, so that says something positive anyway. Above all, the food was great. We were exhausted one night after a show at the IX center and decided to pop in and give this a pre-Valentine's Day try. The hostess seemed a little shocked that we didn't have a reservation, but did accommodate us... probably due to the fact that the area was getting pounded with snow and she expected cancellations. It is a very small restaurant so I think expecting reservations was more a necessity than trying to be snobby. We got a decent table by the kitchen and immediately enjoyed the warm atmosphere. Our waiter left a little to be desired, but the other waitstaff totally took over for him where needed; bringing us more bread or refilling our drinks. The bread. Oh my God, it is so delicious. The olive oil with Parmesan blend is SO delicious, it makes my mouth water thinking about it. The salad had some of the best house dressing ever. I ordered the lobster ravioli a la vodka and it was great. My husband's veal parmigiana was GIGANTIC. We were both stuffed by the time the meal was over but still took a piece of tiramisu home and that was excellent. The kitchen got behind while we were there and we definitely waited an absurd amount of time for our food, but they had several large tables and we could see them working and they were sweating their balls off.
