My amazing wife and I both love Italian food, and Cafe Toscano has been a favorite of ours for years! When my wife had to switch to a Gluten Free diet she was kind of devastated, but after having the GF pasta and GF cheesecake at Cafe Toscano she was thrilled! The menu has a wonderful variety, the garlic knots before your meal are unforgettable and everything we have tried has been delicious. If you are looking for a great meal and within an hour of Aurora I would suggest Cafe Toscano is more than worthy of your time and money! read more

Always a good meal. Service is fantastic. Acoustics aren't bad and not difficult to have a conversation. Favorites will always be the sachetti (please bring it back), anything w vodka sauce, alfredo, and the chicken toscano. Love the grill items too. read more

Went for dinner tonight. Terrible service! Ordered and waited over an hour for food. It never arrived. Walked out without dinner. They need to improve!!!!! Should be zero stars! read more

We have been here many times. It has to be good to make you want to travel 60 miles to dine here. For this visit and prior visits, the table was ready at the time of our reservation. The room was comfortable and felt warm, but noisy. The server was friendly and attentive. She made sure our glasses were filled, the delicious warm garlic rolls were available and the food was served at the right time. I would recommend the calamari and Caesar salad for openers. My veal masala was tasty. The veal was tender and the sauce was on the sweet side. My wife had a pasta with a Bolognaise ragu that was delicious and a very large portion. The deserts were worthwhile as well. In summary, an excellent choice for dinner. We'll be back. read more

Excellent pasta dishes. Nice small restaurant in Aurora. Sizable portions and prompt service. Best to make reservations; nice ambiance. Worth a visit if in the area. Hard working staff. read more

I have lived in this area for many years. I know this is popular. I know a lot of people who have come here a lot. I just never have. I finally came here with some friends for the first time. We made reservations on a Monday because it's half price wine. Which is a pretty good deal. They have a nice wine list. I looked over the menu here on Yelp first so I kinda knew the options. Pasta is one of the most economical options. I do know they make their own. Which means cost is probably higher. But over $20 a plate for pasta is kinda crazy to me. All prices are over $20 a plate. Including pizza's. So this is not a casual dinner night in my mind. It is a 1x or 2x a year place. Because you know your bill is going to be high. We got the cheese sticks. They were good. Again looked homemade. The sticks were good. I got the eggplant, and someone got the cavatelli and meatballs, pasta pomodoro with meatballs and another eggplant. The eggplant comes With pasta side. Salad is extra. We did not get. They were pretty crowded for a Monday and it took a bit for our food. But we weren't in a huge hurry. So that is fine. It came out hot and was pretty good. Lots of cheese. Sauce is kinda bland if I am being honest. Very tomato forward with not a lot of other flavor except garlic. Oh this place loves garlic. The bread and the dipping sauce at the table are loaded with it. I am not a big garlic person so I did not touch it. But if you think Italian food should have a ton of garlic then this is for you. Work on your other flavor profiles as well in your sauce not just garlic. Server was very friendly and attentive. She worked hard to make sure we were happy. The place is small but fits people well. Decorated for Christmas nicely. Overall I guess it was just OK. Nothing blew me away. It was good. Not great. For the price I want great. Money is tight and a fancy Italian dinner at $70+ bucks a couple should be great. Maybe I am antiquated in my thoughts but that's a lot of money for pasta so it should be great. Probably not a repeat for me. Again. I know this is popular with rave reviews. For me just ok. I can spend $70+ bucks and get an outstanding meal worth that price. Just OK. read more

Impromptu date night. Not usually Italian-food goers, but this place was highly recommended. Fully recommend it and suggest a reservation. Smaller place, more modern than Italian style. The place was full but not crowded, just at the bar and front entrance when people are waiting to be seated. Food is great, high quality! Try it! read more

We really enjoyed our meal at Cafe Toscano in Aurora. It had been a long time since we last ate here (10 years ago) and we had forgotten how good it is. The restaurant is actually very small inside - so you should definitely make a reservation. There were only a few tables for seating just two people. Service was excellent, and we plan to be back again sooner than the last time! read more

Beautiful restaurant with a spectacular menu and staff. So many choices the wine list was substantial and moderately priced. The bread alone is reason to stop by. The bread is super flavorful and never ending but remember don't fill up on the bread, although it's hard not to. I ordered the chicken parm that was a huge thin breaded chicken cutlet smothered in gooey cheese and it was perfect. I opted for the vodka sauce and a good choice. I thought the pasta could use more sauce so I ordered a side sauce be aware extra sauce is an extra charge. read more

The service was slow, and the food was average at best, with very high prices. I had to return the soup because it was as warm as dishwater, and the mozzarella sticks were only just melted. The cavatelli sauce was overly sweet, but the garlic knots were excellent--they were truly delicious. A family of four spent $214 here, which feels steep given the food's mediocre quality. read more

Always a good meal and good service. The tables can be a bit too tight for comfort. LOVE THE BREAD!!!!!

Second time here and it was outstanding. The service was a bit slow and they must have been missing a hostess or something because major back up on to go orders but the food was such a shining star, I have to sill give five stars. That bread. Enough said. So incredibly outstanding. Moving on, my family had three chicken dishes, piccata, Marsala, and parm. All were very tasty but the piccata was the absolute best. Bright and fresh flavors and the recommendation from the waitress to go old school with this cavatelli under the meat was wise. Marsala was good but quite sweet. Parm was standard but done well. I got the fettuccine with marinera and was super pleased. I like it saucy and they delivered without asking so if you want it more fair, you'll have to tell. Cannot wait to be back! read more

Excellent food, service and ambiance . My favorite Italian restaurant in the Aurora Ohio area.

I had no complaints or room for improvement suggestions. The dining experience was all good. The Italian cuisine, my personal favorite) was authentic and tasty and the large portions were enough to take home a doggy bag to have 2 more meals. Service was attentive and efficient without errors in order taking. The servers attempt to make your dining experience the best. Menu items were well explained. The food came hot just like home. The restaurant was not too noisy like so many other restaurants. We were able to have a conversation without straining or shouting. The restaurant was busy and we made reservations. Again, even though all tables were occupied we had no problem with maintaining conversation. I look forward to going again. It is my favorite of all the restaurants I've been to. read more

We are currently in Italy. Our goal is to find a better Italian restaurant than Cafe Toscano. So far nothing comes close. The food is flavorful and huge portions. The best restaurant I have ever been at. They have gluten free food pasta which is what I get and my boyfriend gets regular pasta. Everything that we have tried is phenomenal. My only recommendation is gluten free bread! read more

This local restaurant, without a doubt, is one of my favorites. Great food, great ambiance, great service staff. I have been to many restaurants in my old age, but this surpasses many with food, atmosphere and service. Why, Why, do I go to any other restaurant when I want Italian. Tonight, no reservations, wanted to order to go because they were very busy and I offered to wait in my car, they greeted me like loved family, gave me a table to wait for my food since I was taking out and that table reservation was about 30 minutes out, I ordered a glass of wine and was attended to like I was the only person in the restaurant. Wow, service, food and great prices. Thank you Cafe Toscano! By the way, it was my birthday, they didn't know it, but they made is very special. read more

You can usually find David and I sitting at the counter at least once a week enjoying an incredible meal. Cafe Tuscano is our Italian go to. Better food than anything in little Italy. Very impressed with this Italian restaurant. It was packed on a random Wednesday. Intimate environment. Portions were very generous and everyone had leftovers. Highly recommended. read more

The service was slow, and we felt ignored by the wait staff. While regular customers may love this place, it seems like newcomers are overlooked. Additionally, if you order the red sauce, be prepared for it to be overly sweet. The Lava Cake tasted like a microwaved Little Debbie snack, and we were relieved that the wine had a screw top since the waiter didn't bother to open it. We would have left, but we were using a gift card. read more

I have wanted to eat here for a long while. Finally decided it was time to go on our 20th Anniversary. Mention that now because of something later. I had heard it was a small place, but I guess I didn't realize how small. Not a big deal to me, but was surprised. They do have an outdoor patio, so that is nice for those who like to be outside on a nice day. For such a small location, it was nice to see that they don't short on their staff. There were plenty of wait staff, which made for good service. Our waitress was prompt, and knew the menu well. A must at an Italian restaurant is to try their Wedding Soup. I was impressed with the flavor and amount of veggies and pasta. Maybe a tad short on the meatballs, but eh...not a big deal to me. The rolls are like little pillows of yum!!! We have eaten just those! I got my typical Chicken Parm. Nice portion, and a good amount of pasta with it. Sauce was a nice flavor. Nothing really bold, but I would say it is satisfying to a large amount of different tastes. My wife got Cavatelli and Meatballs. Again, a really nice portion of pasta, and the meatballs were dense, but not too dense. I like a heartiness to my meatballs, but not to the point where they are too heavy feeling. Back to the Anniversary part. Our waitress had asked what brought us in on that night and we mentioned our 20th. Immediately she said that we could enjoy a complimentary dessert of their Tiramisu. That was a very nice gesture and one that will stick with us. I would recommend reservations if you plan on visiting as I don't think they have a lot of walk in seating available. Do it and I feel like you will be happy. read more

The food was very old school very very good like I was eating at my friends house when moms cooked . Great wine list service was excellent. I couldn't recommend Cafe Toscano enough! This was my first time and definitely won't be my last. We started with the bruschetta and stuffed hot cubanos which were both delicious. And the house rolls were mouth watering with the dipping oil. I ordered the pollo picatta with angel hair pasta - it was incredible and the portions were huge. I also tried the parmigiana and that was delicious as well! It's a quaint space and busy the entire time so make sure you have a reservation. I cannot wait to go back. read more

We dined in today 01/26/2024 at 5:45. Upon entering I was seated immediately and waited for the rest of my party. I was greeted with water and order my drinks. The ambiance is very cozy and intimate. The restaurant was clean and the aroma of food was amazing. Our server was Morgan and she was beyond amazing. Morgan made sure our food and beverage were perfect. There was another young lady who helped us with beautiful red highlights I believe named Halle she was amazing as well. Now on the main event the food. The star of the show was the fresh baked bread you'll thank me later! I had the eggplant and it was amazing. My sister had the fettuccine with chicken and shrimp and she also said it was good. Our dear friend had the ziti and she loved it. The portion sizes are large. We were celebrating my sister's birthday and they gave her complimentary tiramisu and it was very good. This place delivered everything and more! I can't wait to dine in again soon! read more

You always get a good Italian meal here. The dining room isn't large so reservations are recommended. The service is always very good. The food is delicious. The helpings are large so plan on taking food home. The noise is loud. We actually left to free up our table and talk outside. People tend to stay seated when finished. Please don't because that prevents this small restaurant to have a second seating. We enjoyed our evening. read more

Absolutely loved this place! We decided to go here based on a recommendation from a friend. It's a cute little place with outdoor seating as well. We were greeted by a sweet girl named Ashley who walked us over to our tables and explained the menu to us. She gave some great recommendations as well. My husband got their pasta arabiatta and I got their meatballs. The portions were great for the price. And our wine was excellent. Bathrooms are a huge deal for me so I was happy to see that the bathroom was also clean. It was crazy busy there so you know this must be a popular spot in Aurora. We ended the night with a delicious vanilla bean cheesecake which was TO DIE FOR! We will definitely be going back here again and this time I will be ordering an actual entree. read more

One of my favorite Italian spots in the NE Ohio area. A very cozy atmosphere and delicious Italian food. My friends and I always like to come for birthday dinners and celebrations. It does have pretty limited seating however so if you want to have a reservation call a couple days in advance. Their bread is absolutely delicious, just make sure not to fill yourself up with it before your entrees come. I usually get the Cajun chicken pasta with the blackened chicken. I also ask them to give me shrimp instead of sausage. I've gotten the Chicken Marsala and Chicken Parmesan before as well. They are both very delicious. They give very generous portion sizes, I always have some to take home. The tiramisu here is also amazing! read more

Our first time. We were walk ins on a Sunday and were surprised that we probably should have gotten reservations. We sat on a small table in the very small bar area. The bread is fantastic. Salad was great too. I am particular about my veal parm. That being said, while it wasn't the best I have had, it was pretty good. Service was not bad, but we were sitting in the bar area. We will be back. read more

Nice room in an unassuming building. The decor felt relaxed and the server was friendly, knowledgeable and spent the right amount of time waiting on us. The food was excellent. My friend hit the monkfish special, crispy but light fish in a delicious sauce. The baby carrots were roasted perfectly. All in top if mashed potatoes. I had my test for new Italian places, spaghetti and meatballs. If they cannot cook that well, it's not worth visiting again. Happy to report the pomodoro sauce was good and the meatballs were perfect. Plenty of leftovers for the both of us. I'll gladly return and try something more adventurous. read more

Would have given 5 stars but for the wait staff spending more time on their phones than at the tables. So on with the good stuff, the food, I think it's fair to say that everyone's taste buds aren't the same. With that being said this is a place, when in Aurora, will return if for nothing other than to appease my curiosity of other menu items. There is nothing that I can say, in a negative aspect, towards the food everything was worth the price of admission....if visiting on a weekend I would suggest reservations their dining area is not large by any means. read more

I love going to Cafe Toscano. Their garlic knots with the oil for dipping are a reason to go just on their own, but the couple of times I've been there, we always receive super friendly service.
