Fig and walnut salad with blackened chicken. Very large get the small!
Randy D.

Small place with counter service Pretty varied menu with a lot of salads and sandwiches Service was just ok, was first time in and girl taking orders was clearly annoyed with me Ordered the fig and walnuts salad with blackened chicken Came out to table pretty quickly and was very tasty. Salad dressing was really good. Salad was ginormous only issue was chicken was hammered. Very dry and overcooked

Delicious! We walked in to order for takeout and was greeted by an extremely friendly hostess! We ordered the Turkey Sandwich, Black Bean Burger with Quinoa Salad, Spicy Chickpea Soup, and Cafe Sol Salad. Everything was delicious! The ingredients tasted delicious and so fresh. We also got the vegan peanut butter chocolate donut which had so much flavor without being sweet. This is a must go spot.

WHAT A GEM of healthy options and great flavors! Parking is everywhere but I recommend the metered lots. Art is everywhere! And, WOW! Such sweet and comfortable decor! The portobello mushroom panini was so delicious especially paired with hummus and fresh vegetables. The salad was so flavorful with the vinaigrette. I was floored with the portion size but very thankful for such a filling meal.the water options are so fresh and the food is so very with the price. The inside is comfortable and there is patio seating available. I highly recommend this salad and Panini combo because of how well paired the flavors are. this is what Panera wants to be, in my opinion!

My wife and I walked to Cafe Sol on Main St just a few blocks away from our SpringHill Suites hotel for a late lunch. It was towards closing time so it wasn't too busy but many customers were still coming in for a quick bite or pick-up. Ordering was done at the counter, it was efficient and easy. Our food items were brought out to our table. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Panini w/chips and my wife ordered the small Cafe Sol salad w/grilled chicken breast (the small was plentiful, a large portion would have been too much). The panini and salad were delicious. Highly recommend trying this restaurant!

Found this place online and I was pumped as I'm a huge cafe go-er so let me start by saying the coffee regular drip was fantastic. Seriously delicious and I had it black. So props on the coffee. The food wasssss nothing exceptional. I was really hoping for a wow on the food. I had the chicken club panini and it was lacking flavor. The chicken was bland in it. I did like the green chilies! Yum. The salad was okay as well but again I was hoping for a wow factor. The ambiance was nice, pretty peace and love vibe. Lots of seating area and cute patio space. The service was fine. It was my first time here so really wish the person who took the order would've explained food options or something special about the cafe but that's just sprinkles I'm looking for on top of the cupcake. The prices for food are in the $15-20 range and coffee was very well priced at $3-$4 for the drip. I could see someone coming here for coffee and working on their computer.

Cutest place! I loved the vibes here. We grabbed breakfast sandwiches & they were delicious! Mine had avocado on it. I didn't know it was on a croissant until it arrived (which probably wouldn't be my first choice) but it did not disappoint! The breakfast potatoes looked delicious but came to us cold. So unfortunate how one thing can bring the meal down. All napkins are cloth, which was unique to see. Staff seemed great! & the chairs are high quality! it needed to be said!!

The portion size here was great for a big eater like myself. The service was very pleasant. The ambiance is quaint and small shop vibe. I would recommend for anyone wanting a semi quick sit down breakfast or brunch. It's competitively priced like most of the breakfast places here.

Healthy 5 star worthy food Turkey panini - juicy Turkey, perfect bread, garlic mayo on point. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it Black Bean Burger - so satisfying and so good! Healthy and vegan, I scarfed this one down and did not feel guilty about it at all. Beet salad - GENOROUS helpings of beet chunks and delicious dressing. The greens were fresh and tender. The prosciutto and parmesan slices went together so well. Perfection Cafe Sol Salad - candied pecans and banana bread croutons were a nice sweet touch to the fresh greens! Why dock that 1 star? When we called to order take out, the girl on the phone asked if we wanted a small or large salad, if course it was huge and wonderful the first time we had it dining in, however it was a meager (70%) portion in the to- go container. They should not even offered the large size to go over the phone as it's misleading, you can only fit a regular salad into that container Overall would come again, but would only dine in for salads and would recommend better business practice

Great menu and a lot of good gluten-free options. They have sandwiches, soups and breakfast items. It's always busy when we go in there.

They took good care of us. Now for the most important part--the food. I genuinely wish I had spent my $60 at McDonald's instead, because this meal was not worth the price. I ordered the fish tacos and was disappointed the second I took a bite. The cod was completely dry, lacked any flavor, and honestly didn't even taste seasoned. The avocado on top added nothing, the cabbage was cold, and the whole dish itself came out cold even though it should've been fresh from the fryer. The chips and queso ended up being the best part of the meal. My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and he described it as cold, soggy, and way too sweet. He did enjoy his beer, and I liked my drink too, but that alone isn't enough for us to return. I personally won't be coming back, but I still encourage others to try it for themselves--everyone's taste is different.

It's been over 5 years since I've reviewed this restaurant! I was just there last night and it is…read morestill as good as it always was. I was not able to make a reservation because it was completely booked when I checked their website. My husband and I arrived at 6:30PM on a Friday night. There were 2 seats at the bar; lucky us! My husband always has the Tanteo Margatini. Former bartender, Kirk's, concoction. He had three last night. It's that good! He calls it "spicy, sweet, yet refreshing ". Spice from jalapeño, sweetness from mango and agave. I usually have the Blueberry Hibiscus Martini. I also tried Pretty In Pink, which is my new favorite! Pretty in Pink was light, sweet, and pleasant on the pallet. Despite the lightness, still got me buzzing after 1 drink. Blueberry Hibiscus, a martini obviously, is stronger vodka taste, with lots of blueberry and floral notes. Very different drinks. I'll change it up based on my mood, haha! To start, always Parmesan Truffle Fries. French fries are my #2 favorite food. My all time favorite fries live at 626. They weigh the portions out so you will always have the same amount of fries. The crisp and potatoness is the perfect ratio. (If you're a fry girl, you get what I'm saying lol.) Blue cheese escargot: flavorful, buttery, garlicky, bubbling hot, soft and tender escargot with slices of baguette to dip in the yummy butter. Calamari-- I didn't have it last night because I couldn't justify ordering a third appetizer but I remember this dish thoroughly. Lightly crisp calamari rings and tentacles, perfectly cooked and tender. I HATE overly cooked, rubbery chewy calamari. You will NEVER get that here. Yummy ponzu sauce to dip. Tempura Cauliflower-- also didn't have last night but another absolute favorite. I had the fish of the moment, which was trout served with purple cabbage and seasonal asparagus. (Another thing I love about 626 is their menu changing based on what's in season. You get that fresh shit!) Trout was perfectly cooked, duh. Flaky, little seasoning, not too much to overpower a delicious filet of trout. Asparagus was also cooked perfect. I hate a mushy, overcooked asparagus. Also love the touch of orange caviar on top. Mid bite, the bartender asked, "is everything tasting amazing?" Yes, yes, yes. Literally no other restaurant can ask this question. My husband had the black angus tenderloin. They recommend medium rare, so of course we have to do it that way. It was tender and delicious. I cut it with a butter knife! We didn't have time for dessert. We were rushing to The Avalon for a show, just 1 block away. But I will tell you my favorite is the crème brûlée. Always the perfect texture and sweetness. Also the almond cake with Enstrom's ice cream added on. My husband and I were there on a BUSY night. Every chair on the floor had a customer. It was loud, but I was still able to have conversation with my husband sitting next to me. Despite the occupied staff, they're always friendly, attentive, warm and waits are minimal. They made sure we made it to our 8PM show on time. (We were 10 minutes early, hehe)

A Hidden Gem in Grand Junction!…read more The escargot with a hint of blue cheese was absolutely incredible -- rich, garlicky, and perfectly balanced. I also had the steak served with a fresh salad of spinach, pears, pomegranate, and goat cheese -- beautifully plated and full of flavor. The service was outstanding. The staff stayed late without rushing me while I enjoyed a lovely conversation with another guest, which says a lot about their hospitality. Between the food, the wine, and the warm atmosphere, this place is a must-stop when visiting Grand Junction. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great food and genuine service.

Food - I ordered the NY Strip - which was excellently cooked and seasoned. However,.the whole grain mustard mashed potatoes - mustard can easily overwhelm the mashed potatoes, and it did so. Preparation can suffer, with key elements (tomato, patty, onion, etc.) sliding around each other, invariably slipping out. Excessive grease and an overall unhealthy result often ensues. Here, it seems that extreme attention was paid to everything. From the meat itself being grass fed black angus, to the tasty char / charbroil taste present in its preparation, to the cheese that seemed to perfectly complement the patty, to the unique approach that they used to triple sear the bacon for me-- it all worked perfectly tonight. This was not only a delicious cheeseburger, but the quality of ingredients, likely proving beneficial to your health. While I skipped the French fries as they use canola or vegetable oil (seed oil), making them a problem for me, the dinner salad was substituted. But with the side salad, the chef's attention to detail also emerged. It was replete with interesting and somewhat unusual, but healthful and rewarding ingredients as well. Service, pricing and atmosphere are all great. I'd say that for the $22 charged, you end up with a truly memorable cheeseburger. Worded another way, this tasted homemade. To buy these ingredients and prepare them with care, as they did here, doesn't happen by accident. While there are far more exotic and interesting "high-brow" items on the menu, if this is representative, the restaurant has some great offerings and genuine talent in the kitchen. I look forward to returning.
