I LOVE THIS PLACE! Anytime I'm in town, I ALWAYS stop in at least once everytime I pass through GJ. My go to is the Spicy Southwest Chicken sandwich, sometimes with a different choice of bread. I change up the soup or spud every other time I come in and usually satisfied with the choices. I've also tried the Jalapeño Turkey Crunch sandwich which is a close second to the Southwest. The service isn't always the best unfortunately, and as much as I love this place, that's what brings it down a star. But they do a good job of clearing off tables and keeping the whole place looking clean so I will give them that. Love this place and will definitely be returning the next time passing through. read more

I rarely leave bad reviews, but this McAlister's Deli location seriously needs improvement. The food itself was sort of bland and honestly not worth the extremely long wait times. It took almost 15 minutes just to place our order because the line was SO long, then another 30 minutes to finally get a table. After all that, we still had to wait around 20 more minutes for the food to actually come out. The staff didn't seem rude, just really exhausted and low-energy. The whole place felt stressful instead of welcoming, and there wasn't much pep or friendliness in the atmosphere at all. I think this place has lots of potential, and this might have just been busy workers during rush hour, but it really needs to be quicker, happier, and overall a more fun place to be. Right now, the experience just doesn't match the prices or the hype. read more

Ordered a pick two To-Go and tried the chicken and dumpling soup. It was gross and had absolutely no flavor accept for wet noodle. read more

McAlister's Deli - Chicken and dumpling soup is gross, don't order it. - Delis Near Me - Grand Junction, Colorado

3 to 3.5 is perfect rating for this place. It's a decent sandwich. Not the best not the worst. The 4 cheese melt could use some work for the price. The Cuban was ok maybe slightly on the dry side. Chicken blt was good. The broccoli cheese soup was really good I enjoyed that a lot. The pineapple upside down cheesecake was very good as well. read more

WOW! This location has fallen off a cliff. I am in town for a family emergency and have ordered McAlister's pick up a few times, since it's near the hospital, and it's been terrible each time. Shockingly terrible. Missing ingredients, poor quality meat and produce. Such a shame, this was a solid spot for a long time. read more

Didn't realize until we got home. Disappointing. Asked for unsweet tea with regular lemonade, got sweet tea with a lemon. Asked for new drink while waiting for food, staff was friendly, just didnt pay attention. read more

Can never go wrong with McAllisters. Food is always great, family friendly, and great service. Today was no acceptation, there were coloring pages provided for my kiddo. I did order something new, the Oreo cheesecake and a gluten free sandwich. Both which taste amazing! read more

Great sandwich's/sides. Husband declared the best Italian sub anywhere Too bad we don't live in the area read more

So my boss went down to that restaurant and brought me back their potato actually it's two potatoes and it was huge. We both had the brisket one I believe with macaroni and a little bit of bacon on top but for the amount of money!!!! They give you like a tablespoon of meat. It's just really pathetic how cheap these people really are. this isn't the first time, but it will be the last. read more

Always great service and good food. I have never seen an unhappy customer or employee here.

Spent over $40 picked up curbside and food wrong. I ordered soup got broth no meat no dumplings. Chicken ceasar ended up not being chicken ceasar. I'm sick haven't eaten all day and this. Never again! read more

Very good sandwiches and soup! The chicken noodle soup is delicious, and so is the red beans and rice! Love, love, love the peach puree added to the unsweetened tea! Service was great too! Very clean too! The carrot cake is awesome, and best thing, no raisens!!! Lots of nuts! Yum! read more

We eat there a few times a year. Stopped there 9-4 for lunch. This place never disappoints! I had the 12" Italian sandwich and it was perfect. Wife had chicken salad and a slice of cake. Spectacular service to boot!! read more

One of a couple restaurants in Grand Junction that serve vegetarian dishes. My go to place when I have company in town.

The food was ok. Our order included someone else's food with their name on it, missing one of our items, and a completely different item. We called ahead for pick up. We waited 30 minutes and then went to the deli. We waited another 45 minutes. It was clear that they could not produce the food in a reasonable timeframe with at least 30 people waiting. We decided not to even attempt to correct the order. The mistake correction would have taken too long. It might be an ok place to eat, but I recommend only doing so here when no one else is hungry and you make a single item order. read more

The food isn't half bad but the service is just awful. You never see any employees smiling and you can tell they all hate their jobs there. The Manager on Duty (Maria) was the worst and got angry at us that our order was wrong. Even after showing here the receipt, she didn't apologize and acted like we were wasting her time. Wanna buy a tea pass? Don't bother, the employees hate it when you try and use one and can never figure out how to scan that into their system. I've never seen a group of employees that hate their jobs more that the employees at the GJ location. And judging from the Manager on duty, I see where they all get it from. read more

I had the French Dip that was very good. My friend had the Rueben. He's had this in the past when it's been good but this time the corned beef must have been ordered from a new market. It was really lousy meat. They really down graded the sandwich. Must have found a cheap distribute! read more

We came for the first time from California and it was great! I recommend a must stop and eat in Grand Junction.

I'll never order from here again! I had a delivery order it was a salad and tea. Well I got my salad but not my tea. The Uber driver said the tea was not on the order although I was charged for it. So I called and talked to a employee and at first she seemed to indicate it was between me a Uber then I ask to speak to a manager and she said she was the manager. That's when I told her I would contact my credit card company and tell them to stop payment. Then she said hold on a minute let talk to my manager. Now keep in mind she had already said she was the manager. Anyway very bad service here they don't care about the customer. Uber however did credit me for my tea right away. To me Uber has great service. But this deli did nothing to fix the situation. read more

Another great turn out! Their sandwich was tasty, filling and fresh. The bread was soft and the meat tender. Their side salad of cucumbers and tomatoes is not swimming in dressing. A minor improvement could be to offer an option online to cut out some of the inside bread. This has been a really popular trend lately. Even chain restaurants offer this service. Otherwise, another great lunch! read more

Every time for the last three times at least our order is missing at least one item or has missing pickles or avocado from BLT+avo sandwich. When you call to ask for a refund for missing items, they claim to refund your card, but it never happens. When you order through curb side, you have to work as a customer to get their attention, and that's if you're lucky. Normally they wait for the customer to walk inside. Absolutely horrible customer service; consistently. Lady named Charlie had the worst response for a customer having to wait almost an hour for a curbside order, only to have to walk inside to get it. If you're lucky and your order is correct, the food is amazing. But honestly it's not worth the trouble. We won't be back. PS, if you order through DoorDash, I kid you not, your order will never be incorrect or late. The fact that they play favorites is absolutely the games these employees play with their customers. I wonder if they pull these stunts in front of the owner(?) I wonder if the owner even cares about the customers at all. read more

Food is ok. If you're looking for a real Italian, it's not at Mcallisters. Leaf lettuce and thick sliced tomatoes don't belong on a true Italian sub. Shaved iceberg lettuce, and thin sliced tomatoes do. The bread is not what you would expect for Italian ...more like a grocery store long bun. I've eaten there a few times because....well...family. Believe it or not, Jimmy John's is hands down 100% better, the bread, the cheese, the toppings, period....actually, every Jimmy John's sandwich I've had has been superior to Mcallisters Deli. read more

Food was ok. The biggest problem is the restaurant in Grand Junction does not accommodate person in electric wheelchairs! I was trying to get to a table and wound dragging a chair from another table with me to the table. my friends got me untangled from that, then as I was trying to get pulled into our table, my chair caught another chair from yet a different table and it fell over, hitting the floor and making a loud noice. Once again, my friends had to get me untangled. The aisles are too narrow. trying to get to bathroom was another nightmare. The bathroom accommodates 2 people standing upright. Forget adding a wheelchair to the mix. I will never go there again. It's obvious they don't want handicapped people eating at their establishment! read more

Great food and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Frank at the front counter was great!

Stopped going to this place after every take out order we placed during Covid was either missing something or was wrong. Decided to give it another try a week ago and the food was great!! Tonight went in again, ordered a potato with cheese and bacon. Got home, just got a plain potato. No cheese, no bacon. Went back, they made a new one, and told me sarcastically to have a beautiful night, then laughed as I was walking away. No apology for the food being wrong. Awful customer service. I'm done at this point. read more

My hole order was wrong. My hardest chicken salad salad was all wrong. The worst part was that I paid for extra dressing and I got none. The potato had no sour cream no butter no cheese. On our way to Denver, we were told about this place and decided to stop for lunch. It was pretty busy being a Saturday afternoon, but we were serviced quickly and the server was very attentive. To me, the salads weren't anything special and had a little too much dressing but my turkey sandwich and Parmesan turkey sausage kale soup was excellent. The ingredients were fresh and the flavor of the soup was delicious. The seating was spacious and the bathrooms were a little small. It is a great place to try out! Give it a shot read more
