We enjoyed this restaurant both times that we dined during our stay in Sunriver. The staff are very kind and care about your dining experience. All of the food was delicious and of high quality. I wish they served breakfast till noon on a daily basis. I ordered my daughter a fruit cup that was full of really fresh fruit, including fresh raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. I mention this because I often find the fruit that is offered to children at restaurants to be pretty sub par and of low quality. The bread is very fresh and delicious as well. We tried the Cafe Sintra this morning after eating at the resort lodge yesterday. We were disappointed yesterday but found our breakfast this morning to be quite good. The coffee was good (self service). The eggs were cooked properly and the toast looked homemade. Service was good and prompt. All in all a huge improvement over yesterday. read more

We have eaten there many times. The bread for the sandwiches is inconsistent, when it's good it's very good. We asked about the bread problem and we're told, if you order a half sandwich the bread is different. We have noticed the inconsistency with whole sandwiches also, even the size varies. Just great! This morning we had coffee, lattes, pastry and breakfast dishes all were pretty outstanding. I thought that the Benedict I ordered was terrific, great hollandaise and the perfect amount. Looking for a great breakfast while in Sunriver? This is it! Pastries, Eggs Benedict, Waffles... It's all here! Given how busy this restaurant can be, the service is fast and efficient. You do order and pay at the cash register as you enter the restaurant, but I think this only improves their service. Being in a resort, things can get busy during the high seasons, but they do a great job of keeping the guests happy and served. Fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, absolutely huge and tasty cinnamon rolls... you will leave satisfied!! read more

Disappointing service. Arrived about 145pm on a Tuesday. When we came in were told at the counter we could take a menu & order at the counter or from our table. We wanted to sit/look at the menu. 3 of 4 empty tables in the section hadn't been cleaned/wiped off. After waiting 10 minutes, no one came to greet, bring water, or take our order although one person was nearby sweeping up behind the counter. Just visited Cafe Sintra for the first time, food was good (we both ordered 2 egg breakfast with incredible bacon, portion sizes are just right), well priced and service was great. Rosemary toast with marionberry jam was tasty. We will definitely be back. read more

Ordered a to-go meal and clarified that I needed gluten free. Meal took forever even though it was only an omelet - when it came up I grabbed it and left -- my mistake! Upon arriving at my closeby destination I discovered that it was eggs Benedict! Eggs and everything all over English muffins! I get that mistakes happen but it was a super bummer especially because I didn't have time to go back. What a shame - it honestly looked very good and tasty and fresh! But it is SO important to honor food allergies and requests because incidents like this really make customers hesitate to ever come back! Perhaps tickets printed out that specify the orders should be color coded for allergies?? read more

The two stars are for the food because it was good. I had the steak and eggs. You order at the counter, a blond woman took our order and I 100% had ordered the French toast for my daughters grandmother, sub the sausage for potatoes. When our food came out they brought pancakes not French toast. No biggie, people make mistakes so a simple apology and French toast would've been sufficient. Instead, when I let the woman know she asked her co-worker who was helping run the food out to our table for the ticket. She looked at it and said, "it says pancakes" and then I responded by letting her know that I had ordered French toast. Duh lady, I'm sure the ticket says pancakes but that's not the point because it's not what I ordered and why the need to prove me wrong? I'm the customer and I was telling the truth sheesh. She took the pancakes back, no apology for the mistake but I assumed we would most likely get an apology when they brought out the French toast, nope, nothin. To top it off, they had this old iron wheel with a handle on the counter. I wanted to spin it so of course any kid would want to too lol so my daughter and I went to give it a light spin and the blonde that took our order gave us an annoying 'no no no no no'. There are so many other ways to ask us nicely not to touch the damn wheel and after the order mishap it just made the whole experience bad. Plus the coffee was super weak, even the customer before me turned and commented on it while I was filling my cup. You would think for a very busy resort town they would be a little more friendly. read more

Breakfast was interesting. You walk in, a sign says Order Here above the cash register. If you know what you and your family/friends want, great. Otherwise you seat yourself (no sign, you just figure it out), at an open table and assign someone to hopefully remember all the orders (not a large selection but enough to require a little time), and return to the cash register to place and pay for your order. Today, an unfriendly hostess took the order and also made the worst cappuccino a person could possibly make (are they supposed to be SOUR?). When asked what assorted toast there was, she said it was whatever the kitchen felt like making. All this time I thought it meant what I'm sure everyone reading this thought. Learn something new every day. Fortunately the waitress was very nice and the food was okay. Would I go again? No! read more

Nice location, windows. Can sit outside under eaves, beside grass. Decent coffee. Bland spinach/egg wrapped in crepe. My wife decided to ditch the eggs, and instead put jam on the crepe. Likewise, eggs benedict needed a lot of salt. Furthermore, they put the ham on the side, instead of on the bread. The eggs were, however cooked to perfection, just runny enough yolk. Potatoes were okay. Bread pudding muffin (w/ some chocolate and coconut) was outstanding. I would suggest just ordering this with some coffee. It is plenty rich. read more

We came here both mornings we were in Sun River. The first time we had a party of six and the second time we had a very disorganized group of twenty people. The waitstaff was very gracious and accommodating! Both times the food and service were excellent. It's a little odd to have to get up and get your own coffee, but the mugs are nice and big! I wouldn't come here with a group of elderly people who like their coffee cups constantly topped off, but maybe they vacation in Florida and not Sun River. I easily could have eaten just the wonderful bread they bring every table with delicious packaged jams and their coffee, but then I wouldn't have gotten to try their food! Everything was delicious! The veggies in my omelette were so fresh! I ordered the potatoes the first day, which were okay, but the side of fruit the second day was really deluxe! My husband got the pancakes and sausage both days, which means the pancakes must have been exceptional! We would definitely recommend this place! read more

The jasmine iced tea is delish, the sandwiches are the best in this world and the pancakes are simply out of this world! We love Cafe Sintra. At best we get to Sunriver once a year but no matter, the owner always remembers us and welcomes us back, briefly chatting to find out how we are and wondering what fun things we have in store for the week. Our family has been a fan of Cafe Sintra for the past eight years. Each year, on our last day at Sunriver, we stop at Cafe Sintra for our last Sunriver breakfast. There are some unique and innovative items on the menu, and the overall quality is very good. We especially enjoy the pastries. The only unfortunate challenge is the person taking the orders (the same person has been there almost every year).....many other reviewers have commented about this person - using words such as unfriendly, bored, and bothered. We would agree with all of these descriptions. Our family has elected to make this person part of the dining experience. In an attempt to add some humor we compare this person to the soup kitchen person from the Seinfeld TV show as some temperament characteristics are similar. We find ourselves saying before we Cafe Sintra...."just follow her instructions and everything will be okay." read more

We had late lunch in this restaurant. You need to order your food by the counter. The service was very fast. Soup was delicious and salad had fresh greens and good flavors. Nothing extraordinary but very well done. Tacos had some Mediterranean flavors with the use of sausage and caramelized onions.
