We have come here several times in the few weeks since we moved here. The staff are all wonderful and provide great service. Every meal we've had here with our two kids has been delicious... I especially love the bolognese! Their salmon dish is also delicious... We also love our wine and they have a pretty good list by the bottle. It's our go-to restaurant. read more

Overpriced, too many tables inside cramped together and average tasting food. Not worth waiting in line for more than five minutes.

I asked for a time when the place ws not packed, "9:00pm", he says, I asked ..will it be not packed?...he answers with an attitude..."I hope it will be packed, that's how I make money"....is that a way to answer to a customer? I have been coming here since it was a small hole-in-the-wall on the corner. It is the best italian restaurant in South Florida not only for the quality of the food, but for the exceptional customer service. Everytime I go in, the staff makes me feel like a member of the family. Many times when a place changes ownership there is a decline in quality, but not here. It continues to exceed my expectations with every meal. I highly recommend the specials. They are pricey, but well worth it. Osso Bucco is a wonderful mainstay on the specials list, but the grilled veal ribs and the veal chop valdostana are amazing as well. I have never had a bad experience here and I will continue to make this my go-to spot for great food and service. read more

Extremely bad experience. The bread was terrible. Worst than a publix bag of old industrial bread. The free tomatoes that come with the bread were soaked in oil. No flavor whatsowever. Eggplant involtini came completely burnt. I immediately explained to te server that the eggplant was burnt and he started to argue with me. Another server came to do the right job and took the eggplant back. I realized that they use a pizza oven ( which reaches very high temperatures) for this involtinis. Thats the reason why the food comes burnt. They brought a new eggplant involtini and when I tried it, it was hard salty cheese. There was no eggplant ( at least none I could see) I ordered raviolis with sage filled with pear. They were completely cold. The flavor was not bad, but I had to return them My cousin ordered a radiccio and rugala salad. He did not touch the salad. The dressing literaly seemed like diarrea ( excuse my french). My wife's pasta ( penne putanesca was good for her). I tried it, but the experience had been so bad, I could not find it good. Overall, I could not wait to get out of that place, which at the begining seemed very nice. Terrible terrible experience. I go out for dinner and lunch 5 to 6 times a week. Coming from New York to Florida on vacation café Ragazzi was the number one meal I've had. this Italian restaurant has everything good from the appetizers the cheese Barratta the linguini and clam sauce was out of this world. we went back twice and would come back every single time when we visit Hollywood the staff was generous the wine the food was awesome. read more

A neighborhood Italian restaurant for a quiet evening or business lunch in Surfside or the Bal Harbour area. When eating at an Italian restaurant for the first time, I often have a hard time ordering since I enjoy eating pasta such as a Linguine Pancetta Carbonara or a Lasagna as a stand alone dish but I'd also like to try one of their Veal or chicken main dishes such as a Veal Chop or one of their Chicken dishes. I usually wonder if a pasta dish itself with a small salad or appetizer will be enough food or if the Chicken/Veal dish with a pasta would be too much. Usually, I'm heavily influenced by price since the W and I usually don't share. Cafe Ragazzi wasn't too much different, I thought about trying their signature Chicken dish that was recommended by my W's friend, but I couldn't leave Cafe Ragazzi without trying their Linguine Carbonara with Pancetta, so that's what I ordered with a side appetizer of their meat balls with ricotta cheese. The meat balls (4 to the plate) were absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked, tender and with a perfect texture.The Linguine Carbonara was not as al dente as I would have preferred and the pancetta was soft and not like overcooked bacon, the way I like it. However, the portion was so generous that I had the leftovers for lunch the following day. Meanwhile, the W and her friend were enjoying the chicken dish which was very good and the friend's husband was feasting on their lasagna which looked great. I have to say I had a little food envy and wish I would have sampled it. For dessert we tried their Apple tart but I couldn't really enjoy it since I should have left left more of my main course for the following day's lunch. The Saturday crowd at Cafe Ragazzi was very mixed. There were a small number of the retirees, but there were mainly the Baby Boomers and some Gen Ys. Their bar is very small with only a few stools. There's plenty of metered parking, but make sure you bring your quarters because these meters don't take credit cards. read more

I love this place amazing coffee and the risotto by far one of the best I have ever eat in my life and my whole family ordered some hot beverages like I ordered the espresso loved my little sister ordered the hot chocolate so I had to take a sip of her hot chocolate so I could write a review on yelp and it was something new like not your regular hot chocolate but was good anyway and my mom just ordered some caramel late again had to take a sip just to write a review and was amazing as well so to sum it up if your in Surfside it's a must go read more

I give 3 stars to be generous. We had the Salmon Carpaccio for starter, it was NOT fresh, simple and on top of that, its gotta be the thinest carpaccio i've seen. Then we had a pizza which was good but not amazing. The service was average and the music was to fall asleep right there. My family and I have been coming here for many years and it's always been a favorite. We're very sad to see in the last 6 months they've gotten rid of our favorites things on the menu - the cheese cannelloni and the delicious complimentary tomato bruschetta. Atmosphere was good and service was impeccable. Waiters were very attentive and prompt, yet didn't push to close out the tab. Really good all around. However, the food didn't live up to the level of service. The tuna tartare could not have been more bland, even with the vinegar added, and the crab meat ravioli did not wow us in taste or portion size. To be fair, I only tried two dishes, but strangely enough they didn't have lasagna on the menu which is why I wanted Italian on that night in the first place. The place is a little loud and there were three birthdays with a loud chorus from the staff, so might not be the best place for a romantic dinner. read more

Sad to watch the deterioration of food and service. Lived in area for 15 years. Last 9 mos, portions changed, quality of food changed (examples: Ordered Pesto Pasta, used to be first rate, was terrible, half portion of pasta. Called to complain, reply'our rendition' asked where was pesto? Replied, our version. So a few pine nuts, wilded basil over cold pasta is pesto pasta?) their wonderful Brucheta is no longer. Only give you some small, over cooked bread. My opinion, if your going to go for Italian, I would pass. Expensive, poor value for the money. Other places nearby that are great. Past Thursday, we order takeout from Café Ragazzi. It was pasta, and a salad. We ordered the chopped salad, and requested no onions and a raspberry vinaigrette from one of the other salads. When we got home, the onions were on the salad, and there was no raspberry vinegar or any salad dressing included. The pasta was just OK, and the rolls were as hard as rocks. I have driven past, eaten next to, and sadly overlooked this gem in Surfside for so long. My uncle from Buenos Aires invited me to dinner at this amazing little resturant based on a recommendation from a friend who traveled here. And what an amazing place this is. We arrived fairly early by Miami standards, but with young children, we like to get home early. At first we were alone in the dining room, for almost an hour. I was a little nervous, until I tried the fresh bruschetta. One bite, and I knew it was going to be a special dinner. PAsta was wonderful, very fresh. Everything was a delight. the wait staff was attentive and intuative. Barely had to ask for anything, they just knew. I will be going again on date night with my wife. Great little romantic dinner joint as well. You won't be disappointed! read more

If you're a Surfside native I don't know how you can't love Cafe Ragazzi. My family and I have been dining here for several years and while the menu has changed a bit, the food has remained outstanding. Cafe Ragazzi is within walking distance from my Uncle's condo, and he has gotten me addicted! They offer nice selections of pasta, veal, and chicken - as well as take out. The only downside is that they do not take reservations, but the owners are so accommodating (last year they literally rearranged everything to make room for us on an extremely crowded Saturday night as my Uncle is a regular) - which is such a plus. I look forward to coming back to Cafe Ragazzi each time my family visits Miami Beach! read more

I am impressed. "Café Ragazzi" is an up-scale Italian bistro with high taste and quality food ranging from a margarita pizza to prime rib. The service is excellent and waitstaff is very friendly. I ordered the "Angel Hair Pomodoro with Chicken". It was simply delectable! Other diners ordered the "Lemon Chicken" and that looked and tasted of the same standard. I also ordered a salad The was surprisingly very sour and had too much garlic. Moving on, the plating of these dishes were very pleasing to the eye. The restaurant itself has a modern Italian design with many rustic flares. Nice atmosphere and music as well. Also, the kitchen looks very high-end and professional, finished with a massive and traditional oven, made of brick. At the end of my delicious meal, I ordered the "Tiramisu" and "Chocolate Moose". The tiramisu was my favorite and it was actually the best I have ever tasted! I absolutely loved "Raggazzi" and I simply can't wait to come back. read more
