We found Café Lynn by chance while driving through Mandeville, and it ended up being a pleasant surprise. We didn't realize reservations were recommended, but there were open tables in the bar area, so we were seated right away. There's also outdoor seating, which is a nice option. Service was great--our server was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. We ordered the Calamari, Crab Claws, Duck, Shrimp Pasta, Lump Crab & Shrimp Stew, and a House Salad. Everything was good and fresh. Some dishes could've used a bit more seasoning or a different flavor profile, but overall the meal was enjoyable. The restaurant was clean, and even the restroom stood out--spacious, spotless, and surprisingly cute with a single private toilet. Overall, Café Lynn was a solid, unexpected find with good food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. read more

My wife and I have dined in your restaurant since it first opened in the old location, probably 8 to 10 times per year, and brought guest with us many times. Quite a lot of business for your restaurant. We always considered Cafe Lynn our favorite restaurant, that is, until last friday, July 24th. We waited a considerable amount of time for a waiter. He finally took our drink order and we noticed that he was waiting tables and bartending for his tables. The drinks finally arrived. The hot delicious hot bread, that we normaly get, was not served until I ask for it. The waiter went behind the bar, picked up some cold hard crusted bread and brought it out with solid frozen butter. Unfit to eat. After a very long wait, we put our order in. The normally great salad with blue cheese dressing finally came. It was wilted lettuce with a salad dressing that looked like milk. My wife ordered crab cake. It was extremely overcooked. My onion soup was so overcooked that the cheese was inedible. I won't go any further with this review, but we've never been more dissapointed, mostly because your restaurant has been so fine in the past. read more

This was totally unexpected. My wife and I went to lunch at Café Lynn. It didn't start well when we noticed their thermostat was set to 66*. We politely asked to turn it up a degree or two and we're told that that was impossible so we ordered French onion soup to warm up. The soup itself was delicious, but it was served in a softball sized bowl and in it was a baseball size lump of cheese. It was hard to find the soup. For main course, we both ordered crab meat, au gratin, and believe me when I tell you it was absolutely terrible. I couldn't eat it. I sent it back and the waitress didn't offer to replace it or say she was sorry or anything so fine. All I had for lunch was a half a bowl of soup but when the bill came and I was charged for the au gratin that I did not eat that sent everything over the top. Totally unacceptable for a quality restaurant which they used to be if the chef can't make crab meat au gratin any better than that they should take it off the menu. I would even volunteer to teach him how to do it my son is a five star chef who learned from my dad who was a great cook and I'm a pretty good cook myself so I could go in there and teach them how to make an incredible crab meat, au gratin, but I'm sure they wouldn't be thrilled with that either. Well they won't be thrilled with my review or the fact that I will tell other others, and they will lose a great deal of business over the way they treated us today. read more

Where do I even start? Chef/Owner Joey Najolia is an absolute artist. My fiancé and I came here with friends to enjoy what was supposed to be a simple dinner. What it became was a surprise engagement party. The establishment itself is very charming and intimate. We started the meal with fantastic drinks and several phenomenal appetizers, specifically the French onion soup and crab claws. My fiancé had the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly, and I had the lamb chops which were outstanding. This was arguably the best meal I've had since moving back to southern Louisiana earlier this year. For desert, the table ordered bread pudding and blueberry cobbler to share, both of which were delicious. After the meal, Chef Joey came to congratulate us on our engagement and stayed around to chat a bit. I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely looking forward to going back. read more

Really good lunch today. Hubby loved the pork chops and I loved the crab cake which comes with a remoulade over mixed greens. Not a huge fan of the dressing on the salad so next time I'll ask for a different one. read more

I ordered a bubbly glass for 9$, they charged $12. The french onion soup was a thin salty beef broth underneath a thick tough layer of cheese, hard to eat. Filet Mignon au poivre for 56$ (such a great luxury for me!) was ok, a little too well done for medium rare, well done on one side. It didnt look handcrafted and tasted full of salt, i suspect meat tenderizer. I kept that taste all day. The au poivre should be a little cream sauce with green peppercorns but a few were sprinkled on top the steak. Potato slices and green beans were underneath, swimming in oil or butter. The redfish almondine filet was cut in half and all on top of potatoes like a tower. We got home and took an alka seltzer. Its a charming old place, however, if you dont expect too much finesse. Service was good but they brought me the wrong wine and never asked if my steak was cooked alright. read more

Used to be better with a better menu. They dropped my favorites from the menu. They have never been able to return to Pre-COVID quality. It is consistent though and we are able to find a few items when we run out of other ideas for restaurants. Seriously, most of the restaurants in Mandeville are of higher price with the same or similar menu items. I swear they share the same pool of workers who either quit or are fired and re-surface in the next kitchen. Mandeville/Covington restaurants saw their heydays in the mid to late 1990's. read more

Had reservations for dinner with another couple. The food was amazing and even better than the food was the service! Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely return. Our waiter was so knowledgeable about the menu and how each food item was prepared. He also encouraged us to take our time at the end of our meal to enjoy conversing a bit longer with our friends without feeling rushed. More restaurants should be so accommodating! Staff was very attentive always checking on our table. Drinks were strong. The eggplant and calamari appetizers were delicious. The special ribeye was probably the best the table had that night. The duck was a miss as some felt it was tough/dry. The pork chop with the capers was great as I normally would not order a pork chop at a restaurant. The atmosphere is upscale casual dining (white table cloth) but also family friendly. Cafe Lynn feels like a community establishment that is good among the amazing offerings the area has. read more

Always such a pleasant visit! Courteous and knowledgeable staff. Allie did a great job. Very accessible menu with "something for everyone". Kids, mom and dad and "grands" all find a dish they can enjoy and just the right price-point. Food came out smoking hot which for fresh fish and duck and shrimp is most appreciated. Fish of the day - redfish almondine with lump crabmeat kicker - was amazing! Everyone loved the Alfredo. Duck confit was tender and Dad ate it down to the bone. Lovely wine selection. Had the fried crab with roasted veggies and a side salad. Really enjoyed how crisp the outside of the crab was and the dipping sauce that had a slight kick to it. You get an entire loaf of bread (I could not finish even half but it was tempting). Great service from the bar. Quick water refills. I'm not a huge critic, However I only give a review if the restaurant needs it. First of all the restaurant is a wealthy place yet the restaurant is in so much disrepair. Like you're telling me this is a fancy restaurant. Have you seen the chairs you sit on? There're terrible and ripped. Some of them have the leather missing exposing the cushion. The wait is even longer than 1 to 2 hours to get your food. I got to sit here and wait for almost 2 hours on these seats. I rather get shot in the foot instead of sit and wait here. The sound is even worse, I wanted to stand up and tell everyone to shut up! Never take a date here! She left not impressed and I felt like it was more of a waste of money, you would get a better experience at Mc Donald's than here. That's my recommendation of not coming back or here. Bring a cushion for the seats. Lynn! Get your restaurant together and get better chairs. Maybe come out of the kitchen to kick us in the nuts too. So we can get the full experience. read more

Excellent food and excellent service. The sautéed crab claw's appetizer is amazing! The steaks are great and cooked to perfection. I love the blue cheese salad with added grilled shrimp...sooo good! Another go to is the oyster salad! The fried oysters are always cooked perfectly! Overall great experience and will definitely be back. read more

This was a real treat. I didn't expect this place to be as fancy as it was when I chose it for my lunch break in Mandeville. You wouldn't guess from the exterior so I was a bit surprised when I walked in with jeans and a t-shirt but no one seemed to mind. It had an upper scale vibe but the atmosphere was very laid back and the servers and staff were very nice and accommodating. They sat me at a table by the window and I ordered the Redfish Almondine lunch special and had the Blueberry Cobbler for desert both recommended by the server. Dare I say, this was the best lunch I've had in a while. If you're in the area definitely consider Cafe Lynn. Ended up paying . $26 something which seems about right for the food style, presentation and ambiance - note that I'm not good at judging prices and value but I thought someone would want to know. Also, I got a lot of positive energy from everyone I talked to there. We don't always get that in Baton Rouge which is where I'm from. read more

We went last night for the first time and sat at the bar. The service was very slow. Like 2+ hours for salad/soup & entree which we ordered all at the same time. It looked like 2 people were serving the whole restaurant. Waters were left empty. Wasn't able to order another drink to pass the time. HOWEVER...All that being said, the food was INCREDIBLE. So good that we will definitely be back, despite the service! My husband ordered the ribeye special and I ordered the redfish almondine. The steak with worchestershire butter was 10/10. The BEST French onion soup you will ever have, hands down. Our server Harrison was outstanding. We visited for Taste of Tammany and had two of the specials. Only gave this expensive, tasteless restaurant one star because you have to give at least one. It really doesn't even deserve one star. If you're on a bland diet this is your place. The food was super bland. Nothing had flavor. The bread they served tasted as if they had just taken out of a bag and put it in a basket and served it to us. It had not been warmed. The service was at a snail's pace. It took over an hour and a half to get salads and that was after asking about them. The plate was so hot it burned me three times using my napkin trying to move it onto the table. The pasta seemed to have been microwaved. The food was terrible and we had several different dishes. No one liked the food. The place is loud. You can only hear the person sitting next to you talk. I couldn't hear the person sitting across from me and I don't have hearing problems. Wonderful hidden gem in Mandeville. Every single time wife and I come here it's out of the box fantastic. Tonight had the snapper special. No one and I mean no one does fish better than CL Wife had the diver scallops and she was over the moon. If that's not enough the seafood gumbo TOP NOTCH Service impeccable and drinks (I recommend the Mojitos highly) outstanding. If you want a white table cloth, professionally serviced, gourmet meal, Cafe Lynn is the place. Prices are very doable as well. There is no way. NO WAY this establishment deserves any less than 5 stars. We've been coming to Cafe Lynn since before they moved locations and have never NEVER had a bad meal or anything but great service. read more

Went for my husband's birthday and everything we ordered was delicious. We had the blueberry mojito,sautéed crab claws,escargot, filet and the crab cake with pasta alfredo. The peppercorn sauce on top of the filet was delicious. It paired really well my medium rare steak. I've been to a few "fancy" restaurants here in the area and by far Cafe Lynn is hands down the best because we enjoyed everything we ordered and not just 1 or 2 dishes.
