I miss La Provence. I miss it bad. I wish John Besh still owned it. I can't say I would have eaten there enough to personally cover the overhead, but damn, that was an amazing restaurant. Feliciana is not La Provence. But it gave me La Provence vibes, and that hit me right in the feels. Here's why. The MF chicken liver pâté. Get this. Get this. Get this. Understand? I haven't had chicken liver pâté like that since the La Provence days, and damn did it bring me back. That alone was worth the trip. Then they brought out the soup. If you know, you know. The way it was served immediately took me back again. That little detail mattered. Great job, JB. You are the man. It was my birthday, so naturally I had steak frites. Because of course I did. And wine. Because of course I did. Both were excellent, and honestly the whole meal just felt right for a birthday dinner. My one beef, and it really isn't even much of a beef, is the seating. I know the bench on one side, chairs on the other setup maximizes space, but I loathe sitting that close to the next table. At some point it feels less like an intimate dinner and more like you accidentally joined somebody else's blind date. But whatever. Feliciana is awesome. It isn't La Provence, and I don't think it is trying to be. But for a little while, between that pâté, the soup, the wine, and the whole feel of the place, it brought back something I really missed. 3 stars, mainly because our waitress was sweet, attentive, and provided great service. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. I started with the crab beignets, which had an odd sour taste. I'm not sure if it was from the lemon, but the flavor was overpowering and just didn't work for me. I had the veal for my entrée, and while it was good, it wasn't anything that really wowed me or made me want to come back. My husband ordered the strip with frites and au gratin potatoes, and he felt the same. Everything was okay, but nothing really stood out or felt particularly special. I'll start this review by saying I'm extremely gluten intolerant, and the menu didn't mark items as gluten free. I also know it's 2026, and higher end restaurants take food allergies seriously. I figured they'd work with me - and they truly did. We started with the crab soup. It's not a flour base, and you have to request it gluten free - otherwise, they'll put croutons in it. The presentation of that was amazing. They'll bring it out in a clear kettle and pour it over the crab in the bowl. Truly amazing. For our main courses, my mom and I had the Bistrot steak, and my husband got the veal. My mom's came with fries, and once she saw (and tried) the mashed potatoes, she said she would sub the fries for those. They're seriously the best mashed potatoes ever. Our waitress (whose name I can't remember) was so kind and accommodating. She checked with the kitchen on things and gave recommendations. If I could have gluten, I probably would have sprung for the soft shell crab. As always, another John Besh restaurant went above and beyond in our books! We will absolutely be back. read more

Atmosphere was great but a little noisy - I'm finding that at a lot of restaurants these days - very hard to have a decent conversation. Food was excellent, but the portions were very small for the prices charged. Soft-shell crab was about 4" across including the claws. Waitstaff friendly and courteous. read more

Easter Sunday at Felicia Anna in downtown Covington this is John Besh's new restaurant. I've never been a fan of John Besch, but I have to admit this place is pretty incredible. You really need to go. It's an entire experience. The service is magnificent. My flounder was absolutely beautifully flaky and incredible. The crab soup was OK. The dessert menu was lackluster and needs to be revised. We did not order from it, but then we went upstairs to paradise overlooking downtown upstairs open air bar and we loved at the chocolate martini was wonderful. My wife's a scallops were very good. The crab soup was not that great and neither was the white asparagus salad so there you go that's a real detailed analysis of the new John Bash restaurant in Covington called Felicia Anna. read more

Dined last night, was excited to try Besh's new restaurant. It did not disappoint. Atmosphere is amazing and staff phenomenal. We had the triple tail fish and duck pasta. All delicious!! My only complaint would be that for $42 fish it needs to have some type of carb with it. I know things have gone up but rice and potatoes are cheap!!! Put something with the fish!! So we ordered $8 French fries that were fabulous but $50 for a fish and French fries??? But it seems like most high in restaurants are doing this and it's annoying. Besides that, we really enjoyed it!! read more

We discovered this new restaurant while walking in downtown Covington. Our family said it was new and wonderful and hard to get in. The maître d' was able to kindly give us reservations for an early dinner on a Saturday night. We were joined by my husband's two siblings and their spouses. Everyone loved their meals. We shared Blue Crab Beignets and cured bluefin tuna apps. My husband enjoyed his Sautéed Flounder. I had their Babette Bistrot Steak. Others had Oysters, Cotelette de Veau Panee, Roasted Red Royal Shrimp and a pasta dish. Decaf Irish for us two completed our meal. The bar is really nice. The restaurant is very attractive. We didn't make it up to the rooftop bar, but it's been raved about. We will be back for another great meal and to visit that upstairs bar. My brother who lives in Ohio wished he was here to try the Rabbit dish. Reservations are a must and should be booked In advance of any special desired date. read more

Easter Day meal, an amazing level of servers and energy in the building. The space is beautifully decorated and very welcoming. We were seated quickly and served drinks immediately. we took a few moments to order our meal, and our appetizers came out very quickly-the oysters and the white asparagus salad were excellent. Unfortunately, our entrées, then took an hour to come out, and our second round of drinks never arrived. Eventually, somebody checked on us and discovered that our drinks had never arrived and brought us a round of drinks on the house. A manager kept checking on us but never removed our appetizer plates, in fact when he brought our drinks we had to ask him to take them- he looked a bit put off. But after looking at empty plates for 45 minutes it was time. Finally after an hour and 18 minutes from sitting down entrees arrived- lamb and peas and the bistrot steak- both were very good. Our server never apologized for the wait and barely checked on us during the 2+ hours we were there. Luckily the vibe was pleasant and the diners on either side were friendly. While the food was good, the service was very disappointing. read more

Apparently, I am the only person to have a problem with the food. If I was only reviewing my meal this would be a one star review. I ordered the mussels that came with French fries. The mussels were absolutely tasteless and the fries were cold. My friend 's coq au vin was tasty. My Bloody Mary was good. The Chef Chris' pate was just like the old days at La Provence. The pavlova dessert that the 3 of us shared was amazing. On the bright side, they did not charge me for the mussels. The ambience is lovely and the service was good. But mussels are not difficult to make and should have had some flavor. read more

Let me just say I consider myself a foodie. I am hard to impress because there are so many places with good food in the area. I'm always ready to try the new place in town, but typically leave underwhelmed. Feliciana broke that streak of bad luck. I cannot think of a new place that I've tried in the New Orleans area I would want to go back to in years. I plan to return on Thursday next week for their daily special of Beef Short Rib Bourguignon. The food was flavorful, but not overly done with seasoning and herbs while still being satisfying to my palate. I had the Beef Tallow Fries, a true winner with the perfect crisp to tender ratio in a shoestring. I'm not sure if I was just hungry, but the aioli was better than average with a tang that I like. I had their Lyonnaise salad. It was a beautiful presentation, and a good portion size. I made the mistake of thinking the poached egg sitting on top was goat cheese, but I managed to recover from the surprise. It had big pieces of Benton's bacon, enough to satisfy my unhealthy relationship with pork fat. Then, there was the star of my show - Alain's crab soup. The lump crabmeat, the still-crisp edge of the toasted crostini, the little sprinkling of cheese resting on the bottom of the bowl, and the broth was not like anything I'd ever tasted. Allain's mom must have taught him the value of diversity, because the way every component came together to create something that transcended the individual parts of that soup should be investigated. I took another bowl home to research later, lol. I had the apple tarte for desert, and just like everything else it was much better than I anticipated. I don't know how they got apples to have a consistency that almost melts in your mouth without being mushy. No, cinnamon or spice, the flavor of the apples and the puff pastry was all that was needed here. The service was not perfect. It was mostly attentive, but outstanding for a brand new establishment. I waited about 5 minutes before I was able to spot my server to request salt. It was late, and as tables disappear, so does the staff in a lot of restaurants. They are opening up a second establishment, a bar upstairs. I'd heard the servers mention it to the guests at the end of their meals. My server mentioned it was the only indoor/outdoor floor plan. I asked if I could take a peek. The manager granted my request and showed me and a few other patrons a preview. Instead of having distinct indoor bar with an outdoor area, it just transitions from an indoor to an outdoor space. The bar is mostly covered and overlooks the street below. It appears they want to attract an older, established, power-broker, movers and shakers type crowd based on the decor. There are club chairs and loveseats and a few rounds inside, while the outdoor space has high-top tables and chairs. I would describe it as quaint. Let me stop digressing. I am thrilled to finally have a place where the food actually matches the atmosphere's energy. Check it out. Get fries, get soup. read more

This is my fourth visit to Feliciana and our second for Sunday brunch. From arrival to departure our service was superb. Lindsey had waited on us before at Tavi pre-opening. The oysters were fresh and salty with a superb mignonette and amazing crackers. The amuse was a crabmeat ravigote that didn't disappoint. We enjoyed the pane' veal cotellete and my wife loved the royal red shrimp Benedict. It was served over a perfectly toasted croissant with crispy French fries. We wrapped the meal with a salted caramel style ice cream with bits of dried croissant for texture. Unique and a perfect ending to another great visit. The managers are attentive but never intrusive. The dining room is comfortable and the portions generous. Look forward to our next visit. read more

A few friends and I met for dinner on a very busy Saturday night. We were so excited because we had heard such great reviews. Although I have no complaints about the quality of the food I ate, we were duped about what we ordered. I ordered the gnocchi to start because it was described as having morels in the dish. I simply adore morels but there were only button and enoki mushrooms on my plate. My next dish was described on the menu as "Fresh tripletail" but what I was served was Amberjack. My friend ordered the NY Strip Au Poivre and was served a ribeye. The menus, according to our waitress, are printed daily. We were seated before 7pm so there is zero excuse for the substitutions the restaurant made without acknowledgement and without apology. We did tell our waitress who laughed and said "no truth in advertising" when we compared the menu description to what was served. The quality of our dishes were ok but the Au Poivre is much better suited for a Strip or Filet. The money charged us for the food we ate? High. But I get it. Everything is expensive. Will we return? Absolutely not. There are many other amazing restaurants now in Covington. read more

We were there for Sunday brunch and everything we ordered was off the charts, scallops, crab beignets, veal, and my wife got the pancakes, my lord they were the best I have ever put in my mouth! Grand Marnier butter was better than the syrup. The only thing that wasn't outstanding was the Bloody Mary, wasn't a fan of the cucumber vodka and could be spicer but I drank every drop. Can't wait to go back. Might be our new "go to" restaurant. Definitely put it on your list. read more

My wife and I went for our 21st anniversary dinner. A few things to note. The restaurant is beautiful but very loud and the tables are very close together. Like so close the wait staff has trouble squeezing between them. This doesn't make for a very intimate setting. However, Our server was Caroline and she was excellent. Couldn't have asked for better service. We brought a bottle of wine we had from Napa and the cork fee was 25$ which I thought was very reasonable. We started with the bread service and Pate which was amazing. Little nostalgic bc it was like I was back at La Provence which my wife and I miss dearly. We also had the cured tuna app which was good but nothing compared to the Pate. Previously we had the blue crab beignets and scallops at paradise upstairs and they weren't great so we avoided those apps. I wanted to try the soup and it was not what I expected. The broth was sort of like V8 juice crossed with seafood boil water. Next we had the veal entree and beef tallow fries as a side and they were amazing. Kind of twist that the veal had lemon zest in the batter or finished with it. Unexpected and really added a nice touch to it. To end the meal, we had French press coffee and marjolaine which were very tasty. We would definitely go back as I felt the food was good, the portions were fair and the service was excellent. Maybe next time I'd ask to be seated on an end or in a booth so as not to be so crowded and not hear our neighboring diners conversations so clearly. read more

We were able to taste a large portion of the offerings with our group of diners and stand outs included the seafood tower with the amazing scallops, escargot and tuna crudo. Entree favorites were bistrot steak and fries, the veal, flounder and the crab soup.The daily specials are exceptional (we had the cassoulet and bouillabaisse on our visits.) Warm, friendly and attentive service by a top notch staff. The tribute to Walker Percy is a great touch and the ambience was warm and inviting.
