It's a shame to me that our wonderful dinner and superb service was completely negated by the owner's lack of any sort of concern for the customer. Not being from the area, we were unaware that they won't (not can't) take credit cards or debit cards unless they are corporate. I never carry cash, but did have a check..... my companion had some cash, but not enough to cover meal and tip which our waitress so deserved for being so attentive. When we asked to talk to the owner, she simply dismissed us and said that we didn't see the sign (which i searched for on the way out and never found) and told me I could cover both meals on my check and bring it to her at the front, and walked off before I could even say another word..... Really ruined what started out as a wonderful experience. read more

Great food but they don't take credit cards. My favorite dishes are the salmon salad, red beans and rice and crawfish Po boy.

Always good food. Fish tacos are awesome, fried mushrooms and gumbo are also favorites. Bread pudding is awesome as well. You might have to wait at lunch time as its always packed during the week, but it's worth it. read more

Locally owned. One of the best wait staffs in Laurel. Featured in Southern Living magazine. Never disappoints. Favorite dishes include the Grilled Salmon Salad (get the Parmesan cheese on the side for portion control), Pineapple Chicken Salad, any sandwich just for the bread brought in from NOLA and the bisque. The food was pretty good. I had the Cajun chicken pasta. The sauce could have used a little more flavor but the chicken was seasoned perfectly. Service was good but the kitchen took a while. read more

Pretty hard to argue with. Crowded but handled by precious waitstaff. Shrimp bisque .... BOOM! Steak was delicious. Only need some more variety on wine menu. Brittany and Amy kept this busy restaurant humming. read more

This place is the best all around option in laurel. If Matt or Amy are there ask what they recommend otherwise get the shrimp salad if looking for something on the lighter side. Something with a cream sauce if you are not. read more

This place is so consistent with their food! In town visiting and had to stop by. It's exactly how I remembered it, from food down to the excellent service. The pineapple chicken salad sandwich and shrimp bisque were soooo good! And that bread pudding....hands down my all time favorite! Better than the ones found in New Orleans! Good fun and a well-run family owned establishment. Friday is the only evening they are open. Order gumbo and a steak.

Walked in at a busy time for lunch and the restaurant was understaffed. We were seated in a timely manner, but waited for our drinks for about 15 minutes. They were out of the beverages that we requested, but we regrouped. We were in no hurry, so at that point we were ok. We waited another 10-15 minu before the waitress returned to take our lunch order. She returned about 10 minutes later to inform us that they were out of steak, but they could substitute chicken on the steak fettuccini alfredo that we ordered. Once our food arrived about 15 minutes later, one of the pasta dishes had both shrimp and crawfish on it, when it was supposed to have only crawfish, and it was luke warm. I asked to speak with the manager, and when she came over I informed her that I did not want to pay for the extra shrimp that I did not order. She told me to calm down and take a deep breath and that I would not have to pay the extra for something that I did not order. in my opinion, she was rude. We received our bill, and they corrected the seafood Alfredo dish, but refused to amend the steak fettuccini that they substituted chicken for and told us we had gotten double the chicken and had to pay the steak price. I also saw the manager take tips that were left for a waitress so when it was time for us to leave a tip, we made sure to give our waitress the tip directly. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone who is visiting Laurel. It was not a good experience. read more

Very nice employees with descent food. The price was a little much though, it is also a very dingy restaurant that's in desperate need of some updating, especially being that you have to walk to the dark second floor for the restroom (not a place for older or handicap people). All in all, I would recommend a local to try it out, due to the atmosphere and Cajun food. read more

We love eating here for lunch, it's reasonably priced and excellent service! I don't stray away from my usual, that is key. I usually get the blackened grilled chicken with green beans and lemon angel hair pasta. And definitely love it when they have their strawberry cake! Their shrimp bisque is good, but only wish they would put more vegetables and shrimp in it! read more

Love their Frenchman, always ask for no peppers or onions. The waitresses are always nice and attentive. Though I don't like how there cakes are out in the open but noone else seems to mind. Never had bread pudding before but they serve it fantastic here if a little pricey. read more
