Nestle on the small streets of Laurel, Mississippi is this cute little New Orleanians style cafe, if you want lunch or a quick bite - this is your place. I ordered a salad with a slice of Blueberry Lemon cheesecake and it was good - I bought one to bring with me!! The salad was massive, so I did not feel hungry afterwards. We were in a private room and part of a tour group and it was lovely. The ladies that waited on our table were amazing and very well organized.

This place is a really nice lunch spot in Laurel. Atmosphere was lively, service was great, and the food was awesome. I got the Bayou Chicken, and my wife got the Shrimp Pasta. We also got the Boudin Eggrolls (not pictured) as an appetizer. It was all so good! We'll definitely be back.

Fried Green Tomatoes- 8 slices of heavenly freshly fried tomatoes- missing three cuz ate them that quickly. Size of tennis ball

Love visiting and going to small towns and trying great food! If you want to feel a home-time vibe in a historical town located near central Mississippi and want to try Cajun Fusion food in a wonderful remodel old brick building then this restaurant is the place for you. 4 Stars - Service and Ambiance Service is wonderful and pleasant. Our server was professional and knowledgeable on the menu. The ambiance is a little bit upscale but has a "family" feeling to it. Great for a couple's date, large groups or special gathering or just need to get the kids feed before they become "hangry" The restaurant has a second floor for larger gatherings too. NOTE: Due to popularity of the restaurant, it can get pretty loud when busy, so plan accordingly and turn down your "hearing aids". 4.75 Stars - Food: As you can tell from the pictures, the servings can be quite large. Shrimp Tacos - 5 Stars Bountiful shrimp layered w lettuce, tomato, mixed shredded cheese. I believe the "salsa" was more of a spicy ranch sauce. It comes w a side too Side of Freshly made Fried Okra - 5 Stars. So OMG!!! Definitely get the fried okra. The picture tells all! Seafood Gumbo - 4 Stars. The picture doesn't do justice on the taste and ingredients because of the dark Roux but you will enjoy it. I wish it had little bit more seafood items. Now, don't get me wrong, the bowl was empty in a few more minutes. I wanted to say "May I have some more please" from Oliver Twist. It was delicious! Debris' Fries - Straight Up 5 it is an appetizer that can feed 2 people w side item. The seasoned steak fries were loaded with thinly slice roast beef, dark rich gravy, and perfectly cooked sautéed onions. Fried Green Tomatoes- 4.5 Stars Large fried green tomatoes with a 8 slices and Crawfish Juliet Sauce Dessert Orange Cake - 4 stars Yummy. When they have it, get it! Not overly powering in Orange flavor and cake was moist. We stopped through for lunch but will definitely make a dinner date to try their dinner selections.

We were visiting from SF and stumbled upon this cute little restaurant! The service was good, and our waitress was very friendly. The food did take a decently long time to come out and some of the food didn't come out that hot. Prices weren't bad for the portion you got. If I'm ever visiting I would definitely come again and try other dishes! Fried Green Tomatoes: Great taste and flavor, the soup/dip that came with it wasn't hot and had developed a film on top from sitting out. I do think the slices were a little too thick and it was a bit greasy. Crawfish Etouffe: This was delicious! Good flavor. I wish they gave a piece of bread with it like other places though! Chicken sandwich with fried okra: the sandwich itself was just okay, it was pretty much rotisserie chicken and bread. The fried okra was so good! The flavor and crispness was perfect. I loved the fried jalapeños that came with it too!

Cafe la fleur is quite the little gem. My family and I came here for a quick lunch, we had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated but it was worth it. For an appetizer, we got the fried green tomatoes and they were amazing!! It comes with a nice creole sauce to balance out the acidity in the tomatoes. My mom got the chicken tortellini and it was delicious. I got the shrimp poboy with fried okra and the okra stole the show, well seasoned and very crispy. My husband got the redfish and dirty rice the flavors were superb. For dessert our waitress said they are known for their bread pudding. It was wonderful except for the very bottom which was slightly burnt. Overall it was a good experience and we will be back.

Poor amount of entrée selections and portions were just adequate for the cost. Service was very friendly and prompt.

Great food but they don't take credit cards. My favorite dishes are the salmon salad, red beans and rice and crawfish Po boy.

    Do they serve cocktails?

I can't remember what all they had as far as cocktails but they do serve some. I had a pineapple mimosa when I went.

On the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Catfish Plaquemine, and it was phenomenal. Perfectly prepared catfish with a sauce that really brought the dish together. This place has the feel of a classic New Orleans-style restaurant with consistently strong seafood. Definitely worth a visit and I'll be back.

The staff is attentive without hovering, professional without feeling scripted, and they genuinely make you feel welcome. The ambience hits that sweet spot -- energetic but still comfortable, making it an easy place to settle in and enjoy your meal. Now let's talk about the real headline act: the cheese grits. Absolutely out of this world. Creamy, rich, perfectly seasoned and the pepper Jack cheese added a wonderful touch-- they weren't a side dish, they were the star of the show. If they sold those by the gallon, I'd consider questionable life decisions. I ordered the shrimp po'boy. The shrimp themselves? Fantastic. Fresh, fried just right, and piled generously. The toppings and that homemade remoulade (or whatever magic sauce they're whipping up back there) were bright and flavorful. The only hiccup: the bread. The ends were toasted with the intensity of a NASA heat shield. I needed jaw strength training to get through the first few bites. Once you navigated past that crunchy barricade though, it was smooth sailing. I finished with the deep dish apple pie à la mode. I'm not sure if it was made in-house, outsourced, or assembled by a dessert engineer in a lab somewhere -- but I don't really care. It worked. Warm apples, flaky crust, walnuts, brown sugar, and cold ice cream melting into the whole situation... excellent flavor combo. Bonus points for a strong bourbon selection at prices that don't require a small loan application. That alone will get me back in the door. Four stars because of the bread battle, but I'd absolutely come back -- especially for those grits and a good pour of bourbon.
