The best seafood boil joint in the area. The Wharf offers a decent selection of boiled seafood with crawfish, shrimp, royal red shrimp, snow crab and Dungeness crab. They also offer fried seafood options, poboys, burgers & chicken tenders. They also actually add some spice to the food unlike most other spots in the area. This is a simple place with dine in tables or carryout options. The ambiance is a typical dive seafood joint with a market selling other useful items and acessories for your seafood feasting. This place seems to stay busy and there seems to be a few people constantly in line here typically but the line moves fast. Overall this is one of the best options in the area for seafood.

2 in our party shared the catfish and shrimp platter, and took some home for a late night snack.

This is mainly a seafood restaurant that also serves steaks, country fried steak and fried chicken. They have boiled shrimp and fried seafood with all-you-can-eat catfish which seems to be the star of the show here. They have fried options including oysters, shrimp, stuffed crab and chicken. They also have a baked redfish with crawfish sauce and boiled potatoes that I ate, which for the price, it was unfortunately really small and for around the same price in many other spots I've had a much larger serving along with a lot more crawfish in the sauce. For the area it seems very popular and there are lots of other catfish places around but this one seems to have a bit more variety. You also get coleslaw and hushpuppies with your meal (which is the same practice for many of the other spots around this area). Like the majority of places in this region their coleslaw is sadly NOT to my taste as it is far too sweet and is the mayo style while I'm on team vinegar and mustard based coleslaw with no mayo and zero added sugar. I literally would rather have plain sauerkraut or kimchi than this kind of coleslaw. Most people around these parts will by quite happy with the food here but a lot of it just isn't to my taste. The redfish had potential but I can get a way bigger portion size with a lot more food on the plate in New Orleans and all along the Gulf Coast for around the same price or cheaper than here. I sampled a boiled shrimp and like most of the boiled seafood in this area I found it way too bland to my taste and I would rather just boil my own. The service here was really great and they stayed on top of keeping drinks refilled. Overall most people from the area will probably like this joint but if you're used to seafood with a Creole or Cajun flair like I am then you will likely find it pretty bland here.

The food was very bland flavorless boiled shrimp and a grease ball of a hushpuppy and soggy fries . Who cares what the place looked like if the food and service is that bad will never go back

To see across the dining room one has to shield one's eyes with one's hands.... Paint the walls gray, and put some shades on those bright lights! Best to ask for the other dining room which has a much better environment for your eyes and senses. Flatware is the CHEAPEST sold to restaurants, terrible, just like the cheap flatware used by The Loft. Server was friendly for sure but not professional. None of the servers could tell you anything about any of the wines... except for the difference in color! Owners, teach your staff about the wine list! Your servers should know what a Malbec is and that it's from the Mendoza region in the Andes of Argentina, for example. We each had a dish that included a flatiron steak. Sadly our steaks were incredibly tough and chewy. I was able to eat ZERO of it... first bite... chew chew chew until it arrived at its destination, in a paper napkin. Same outcome for bites two and three.... Both ended up in my napkin! The server failed to notice that everything on my plate was gone but the steak appeared untouched! She should have noticed that the other foods were disappearing but the steaks sat appearing untouched on our plates. Green beans, shrimp, pasta dishes all a 10 out of 10! We will go back as overall this is a decent place to eat! However, still waiting on the down town Laurel restaurants to class it up! After all, we are a tourist town (HGTV-Home Town fans) and our guests are here daily from all over the country and world. Train the staff, learn the wines, ditch the cheap flatware, think about adding cloth napkins... and paint the dining room and dim those flood lights!

Served with a horseradish sauce! Than to the gumbo with a dear rich rouge flavor and crab and shrimp (could use more crab and shrimp tho). Red beans and rice I would rate a 6. Seamed to have an off flavors. Not balanced. Drinks were decent. But dessert was the star! the Beignets were so delicate and creamy on the inside, covered in powdered sugar and fried fresh and just right. Heavenly! I highly recommend this place. Understated and welcoming with efficient, friendly service
