Have been here many times and never disappointed with their food or service. My favorite are the ribs and brisket, both are some of the best I've ever had(I've traveled to thru many states and a few countries to know what I like. Dang meat just falls off the bone. This is the best BBQ in Laurel, MS while it isn't really my favorite brisket it is better than most of the other options. The best brisket in the area I've had so far is at Swamp Shack BBQ a short distance away in Ellisville, MS. They seem to often be out of things here and then they have "specials" that they are also often out of which seems to indicate they are very busy usually. This place is definitely VERY popular in the area and it tends to be VERY crowded. They sometimes serve you really huge portions and other times smaller portions. I'm a big fan of Texas style BBQ which the brisket here doesn't seem to resemble the brisket I've had in Texas. I went for lunch and ordered the three meats. Wings, ribs and brisket. Had the slaw and the baked beans. Sauce was sweet. I ended up bringing home the family special for $85. Slab of ribs, whole chicken, lb of sausage and pulled pork, 1qt of baked beans, potato salad, fried okra and corn nuggets, extra sauce and a loaf of bread. $94 after tax. 11 people all were satisfied and loved everything. We love Hog Heaven and is always the first place we go when we are back in town. When you walk in you go to the counter to order & pay (there is always a line). The menu is on the wall above where you place your order. This is a casual place. You find a picnic table, have a seat, & they will bring your drink & food to your table. Far enough off the interstate (2 miles from exit 90) its clientele is mostly local. People knew each other but we felt welcomed too. All types of folks were there. I'd give more stars if I could. My family of 5 ate here. We split a lb of bbq, loaded potato casserole, Mac and cheese and corn nuggets. It was all SO delicious! My husband is a bit of a bbq snob, because he makes some good bbq himself at home, but even he said this will be a repeat visit for us the next time we are in the area. Very consistent barbecue here. The meat is a little fatty, but they give you large portions to make up for what you cut out. Nice smoky flavor. The loaded potato salad is awesome. Huge area inside and outside so that you can sit down and eat. They have TVs inside but it's not too loud. The service personnel are very friendly and constantly check in with you to make sure you have everything you want. Definitely better than any barbecue place in Hattiesburg so we drive up here to Laurel. Marky Waters is horrible and gives you very small portions so I wouldn't go there. read more

The buffet has good looking food, but I'm actively avoiding buffets (the temptation to eat too much is more than I can stand). The chicken has good seasoning, but is overcooked and dry. Real dry. They charged all of us fifty cents for a water. You might ask, "Was it Perrier?" No. Actually it wasn't. It was out of the tap. You don't do that, you all. We all bought a dinner. The ribs were tasty but not fall off the bone, had to work a bit for them. The sausage was the star of the show. Hot, juicy, just a bit of spice. Would come back just for these. The mac&cheese was average as well the coke slaw. Had a decent selection of drinks. All the employees were friendly. Did not notice a sampler platter on the menu. Really disappointed in my meal this time. All my experiences has been good except for today! I drove some 80 plus miles to get dinners(3) and it was a waste of $$$ and the food wasn't good! It was a bad sign when my orders were messed, starting with the cashier and then the folks preparing my plate were so nonchalant about it as they messed up my food and I had to get back in line even tho my time was short. I appreciate folks who handle my food with care and the server was just throwing meat in a plate! Never take business for granted. I'm not sure if I'll go back after spending $70 for 3 dinners that had to be basically trashed. Food was very salty. I have some other complaints but I'll leave it at that! Plus; I gave a tip even tho my order was to go. I'm good on y'all. I just caught them on a bad day or the food isn't as good as it once was. All that salt gave me a headache. I discovered this place almost 2 weeks ago. It used to be located in a Shell gas station but has since moved to its own building. Yelp location is accurate. On my first visit I ordered the 1/2 chicken plate with my two sides being baked beans and potato salad for about $ 10. The food came out in about 5 minutes in a styrofoam container. Sitting at one of the tables, I dug in. The chicken was wrapped in Saran Wrap tightly and as I opened it could immediately tell that it was hot and juicy luicy! It had excellent flavorful with a good smoke taste, I loved it. I rarely see other BBQ restaurants use this method to keep food hot and moist. Believe me, it works! The beans were very yummy with some pulled pork and sausage mixed in. I really like the sauce they were in. A little sweet and very tasty. The potato salad was mustard based and cold and creamy good with some chunks inside. I was impressed with this meal and gave it a 5. My second visit a few days later had me ordering their blue plate special that day which was hamburger steak with rice, gravy and onions with two sides of fried okra and broccoli cheese casserole for $8. This meal was very good. A lot of food for $8. I rated this meal as a 4 which is one that I would be happy to eat again. The third visit was for a large pulled pork sandwich with dirty rice with crawfish tails along with those excellent baked beans again for $8. The pulled pork sandwich was large and very good. A lot of meat and not mushy pulled pork but pork that had some body to it that made it very enjoyable to eat. I already told you about the beans. The dirty rice with crawfish in it was unique. Some of my rice wasn't dirty, it was white. But it had a good smoked flavor to it and then how can you not like crawfish tails in anything? I rated this meal as a 4.5. I was also fortunate to try a piece of their fried catfish. Perfectly battered and fried, it was delicious and on my list for a future visit to eat. This is a very good BBQ restaurant. The new location is large and spacious with ample parking. The food is fairly priced with large portions and excellent in taste. They also serve fried chicken and ribs and sausage but no brisket. I believe that all of their side dishes are very good too. You order at the counter and then your meal is brought to you. My only recommendation for improvement is for them to get self serve drink machines. These people know how to cook food especially BBQ. I consider this the best BBQ in the area. This was the most amazing BBQ I have ever had. The staff is welcoming, the restaurant was immaculately clean, the vibe is fun casual. The brisket is second to none. The pulled pork was amazing. The macaroni and cheese, the corn nuggets, baked beans, broccoli and rice are amazing flavorful sides!! Very homestyle but chef worthy at the same time. And the peach cobbler... I have never had a cobbler as good as this cobbler. The cobbler alone is worth driving however far to try it. The staff was amazing and gave attention like you would want from a high end establishment. Don't miss out Hog Heaven Bar*BQ!! I wish I could take everyone here at least once.
