We also ordered the rice paper salad, fresh paper roll-ups, and the adorable kitty paw waffles. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and reminded me of the snacks I grew up eating. It's not just another boba shop--they've done a great job bringing authentic Vietnamese flavors to Duluth. The staff was friendly, the space was clean and inviting, and it's a perfect place to catch up with friends or satisfy a craving for Vietnamese drinks and snacks. Nothing tasted particularly fresh, and even the dessert was underwhelming. I ordered a bingsu based on the menu photo, which looked like it came in a generous-sized bowl. Instead, it was served in a small Styrofoam cup. On top of that, almost everything that normally comes with bingsu, including the syrup and fruit; was an additional charge, which made it feel overpriced for what you receive. The first time we visited, we were looking for a late-night dessert spot after dinner. The photos online looked inviting, so we decided to give it a try. However, when we walked in, it was extremely hot inside. I felt like I was sitting in the streets of Vietnam. There were portable A/C units and fans running, so I'm assuming they were having air conditioning issues. We returned a second time, and thankfully the temperature was much more comfortable, so it seems that problem had been resolved. The café itself also felt a bit cluttered and not as clean as I expected, especially for a newer business. The restrooms were another letdown. I accidentally walked in on someone because the bathroom doors don't automatically lock behind you. There are signs reminding customers to lock the door, but it's easy to see how people would assume it since you have to use a code to enter. But because there's a code you have to use a second lock to manually lock the doors. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because they're open late, which is convenient since most other tea and dessert shops are closed by then. Unfortunately, the quality of the drinks, desserts, and overall experience would not warrant need to come back. Only the reason we did was because nothing else is open late. Really wanted to like this place as a new late night hangout.

The barista was really kind and explained that it was just ube with no added coconut flavor, which I appreciated. That said, I wouldn't say the ube latte was the best I've had. If you're from the West Coast and have had the ube latte from Da Vien, this is definitely not the same! So if you're going in expecting that specific Da Vien flavor, you might be disappointed. Personally, I'd probably go for their matcha or an Americano next time I visit. That being said, the barista clearly takes pride in the drinks and was really helpful and patient with my questions, so I'd definitely be open to trying some of their other drinks. The matcha latte is definitely on the sweeter side, so I'd recommend asking for less sugar or simple syrup. With a little less sweetness, I think it would be perfect. I've tried quite a few matchas around Duluth this week, and surprisingly, this is actually my favorite one so far! The tiramisu latte was also good, although it had a slightly coconutty/nutty flavor. I don't think they actually add any coconut, so the flavor was a little unexpected, but it was still enjoyable. (Perhaps due to the oat milk?) I was expecting the tiramisu latte to be more like a lighter, less sweet version of a mocha latte, but it tasted a bit different from what I imagined. I want to emphasize that this could be because of the oat milk! The owner was very nice and patient while I was deciding what to order, which I really appreciated. The interior is also really nice and makes this a great place to study or hang out and chat with friends. They now even have outlets along the walls near the tables, so you can easily bring your laptop and get some work done.
