    Cold antipasto

This may be Babylon's greatest secret. This small Italian restaurant packs a whole bunch of flavor. This place is traditional in ever sense of the word. And if you come here, bring your appetite. You will definitely not leave here hungry. I've frequented this restaurant quite a few times and every time, I have had great food with amazing service. Pro tip: MAKE A RESERVATION! This place is VERY small and only has a few tables for dining in. There is a good chance you will not be able to enjoy a meal here if you do not call ahead. The food is amazing. It is so close to how my grandmother use to cook it's eerie. On my last visit we had the following: cold antipasto, baked clams, fried calamari with cherry peppers in a spicy sauce, shrimp scampi and finally cassatelles. Growing up my grandmother use to make these all the time and it's rare to find a place that does it. If you don't know what a cassatelle is, it is pastry dough with a sweet ricotta filling. It is literally one of the best desserts ever. They don't always have these available and when they do they are first come first serve. Pro tip: Ask if they have cassatelle at the start of your dinner. If they do have them available, I would ask if they can put an order on the side for you. You will thank me later. No matter what you get here the food is amazing. If you grew up in an Italian-American household like I did, you will feel right at home. If you didn't, you still will enjoy some very awesome traditional Italian cuisine! Mangia!

I forgot the name of the seafood dish but it was so good!

We don't live close but heard good things about the food so we took a drive. The service and the food was top notch. I couldn't believe the size of the portions, honestly. We couldn't even finish half our meals. I would recommend getting there by 4-4:30. We left at 6 and the place was packed.

Phase 2 is alive and well in Babylon Village. Dining al fresco with my special fella and it felt so European... Service was spectacular. Our masked/gloved servers were beyond attentive without being pesky. Sanitizing between patrons, disposing of paper menus after each customer handle it and social distancing was adhered to with table placement. Quality food, priced accordingly, nice wine selection, limited dessert menu during Covid.

We came in on a Saturday around 8. We started out with the cold antipasto. It had portobello mushrooms, olives, cheese, sun dried tomatoes, red peppers, Prosciutto and soppressata and cheese. Seasoned to perfection. I had the special Risotto with seafood in a lightly spicy red sauce. It was filled with mussels, clams, calamari. Every bite was delicious. My husband had the special rigatoni with crumbled sausage and mushroom in a light cream mushroom sauce. It was equally delicious a perfect amount. We finished the night with the homemade cannoli cake and coffee. The cake was fresh and awesome. They take cards but no tip on the card so you need cash for tip. I'm so glad we found this place. I can't wait to come back!

STUFFED SHRIMP Stuffed with crab meat and drizzled with a creamy garlic sauce

Firs time going there for dinner on a Saturday night. My brother in law recommended the restaurant to us. I liked that they accepted reservations. The wait staff and receptionist were all warm, friendly and attentive. We ordered 3 appetizers, the baked clams, friend calamari and coconut shrimp. The clams looked delicious but were very small. The calamari were fried beautifully cooked, light and delicious. The coconut shrimp were over cooked to a dark brown and I wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce. If it weren't for the outstanding entrees And service, I would've given it 4 stars. The stuffed shrimp was delicious! The sauce was light the bed of sautéed broccoli complimented the flavor and they were tender to the bite. Definitely recommended. The farfalle da Vinci, bow tie pasta with peas, prosciutto and mushrooms in a red cream sauce was very good. Spot on with the flavor and presented beautifully. My brother in law and his wife had the BLACK FETTUCCINE PUGLIESE Shrimp and scallops in a creamy garlic sauce as well as the SHRIMP MONOCHINO Shrimp with mixed mushrooms in a marsala sauce topped with fresh mozzarella and loved them. Cappuccinos and tartuffo/limoncello cake for dessert was delicious. I'd recommend and return to the restaurant for sure, I'd just skip the appetizers and head straight on to the entrees.

Finally a date night with NO KIDS!!…read more As I've reviewed in the past, The Villager is a great place for parents who like good beer and good food but also have to bring their kids with them lol. However, if you can steal away for two hours, this is also a great date spot. The music was from my generation so I was confused why it was so loud? This was my first clue that I am officially old. But that is a me problem not them. We always order the wings (top 5 on the entire island) and the Gouda fries are unparalleled! My husband ordered the gyro. Bold move ordering a cultural dish from non Greeks. He said it was really good! I like that it came on a round instead of a pocket. It gave a quesadillas feel. His only suggestion was to put the siracha on the side since that's not a traditional gyro ingredient. On another bold move, I ordered the Ramen and added braised short ribs. Wow!! I don't know who they have cooking in the back making these authentic meals but this was some of the best Ramen I've ever had. The flavors were so good and the eggs was cooked to perfection (not too runny but not over cooked). Our waitress was very nice as well. It was busy but I never felt like we had to wait long for her attention. 10/10 as always! Reliable top quality with an ever changing beer menu.

If its not a choice, remove it. The staff are always great, lots of beer choices, so get it together LFRG!

Nah - the boys just ate that. Chinese or Asian fusion? We just had that the other day. Diner? Nah. My daughter remembered Post Office Cafe and we went. It was very loud in the front and we almost walked out but figured we'd give it a try. They seated us way in the back (I had no idea this place was so huge!) where it was quieter. I ordered a chicken salad of some kind with avocado and salad. My son ordered the mac and cheese - it was the highlight of dinner! Absolutely delicious. His friend got the Thai calamari which was decent until he got to the bottom. It was soaked in seasoning and too sweet. My daughter got the buttered pasta - children's portion. I'll let the photo speak for itself. It was drenched in butter. On the bright side - service was great, most of the meals were excellent, waffle fries on point. I mentioned the pasta and showed our server the pool of butter. He took it off our bill without even asking. So ... 4 stars - 5 stars for local business service and just lost the one star for the less than stellar meal and app. Will probably be back!

We gave a phone number and walked to another restaurant in case a table opened up faster there. While we were waiting at the other place, the hosts at BS contacted us and said we're next for a table so we walked back. When we got there, there were two groups waiting and one of them were called to get seated. We asked how much longer and the hosts said that we had to wait another 15 minutes because they had to accommodate a reservation. It was annoying just because they called us and told us our table was ready and then had us come and wait - the other restaurant also had a table waiting for us but we decided not to leave because it was cold out and did not want to walk back. To make matters worse, a couple of guys came in, gave their number, and were called for a table in under 10 minutes. I'm assuming because they were a two-top. It was still frustrating. After returning, a total of five groups of people were say before we finally got a table. Onece we got our table, our server quickly took our order. My cousin had their short rib entrée with mashed and veggies. Her cousin had the power bowl. I ordered the short rib-stuffed shells. I was not expecting whya arrived to the table. It was blanketed under thick cheese, with what looked like, canned gravy poured on top. I tried it and parts were cold. I went for one of the "stuffed shells" and nothing was inside. The pasta tasted undercooked and the entire dish was bland. For $22 I would expect housemade gravy, tender short rib, stuffed shells, and salt. My cousin ate about half of her short rib entrée and her cousin ate about half of her power bowl, also complaining that it as cold. The food came out very quickly for how it's assembled, which also is a red flag. The server graciously took my order off the bill. I declined ordering anything else. We then waited for her to return so we could get the check. She disappeared. I had to go to the host and ask her to find the server. Another person came and disappeared, returning with our actual server. We got the bill, paid and left. I think we were charged gratuity and I wish I checked before paying because I think I got duped into a double gratuity. The vibe of this place is a mix between college kids and ladies' night for the older crowd. The music is too loud and everyone is screaming because they're competing with the too loud music. We could not hear ourselves talk. It was weird to be at a table and have to yell. In Westchester, we have places like this but it's still a restaurant and you're able to hold a conversation. This place doesn't know what it wants to be - A bar? A club? A restaurant? Parking was horrendous, but I did luck out with a spit right across the street. It's playing a game of musical chairs - you're basically driving up and down the street, hoping the car you're near is about to leave. This restaurant was a suggestion from a person that ended up bailing last minute and I wish we took that as a sign. Maybe I'd come back for brunch service but I'm not too keen on that.

The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.
