Stopped in for a quick slice during lunch while in the area .This was my first time here after reading the positive reviews they received. All the staff were pleasant and greeted us with a smile. The restaurant is neat and clean with plenty of seating . Everything displayed looked inviting . They were just bringing out an eggplant rollatini pie which looked amazing! One of my favorites! Found Filetto's while shopping in the area. I was greeting by friendly staff, a clean restaurant and a large dining room. After browsing the selections, I asked if they had an eggplant slice. To my delight, there was a fresh eggplant rollatini pie finishing up in the oven. One slice, please! It was delicious, flavorful, and perfectly made. Stopped in for two cannolis. I've had them before and they were great. Tasted good this time--that is, what I could taste. Supposed to be filled to the top coming out of each end. Overflowing. 3rd time here and always a delight! We've had the same server every time and she never disappoints! Her name is Liz and she is very informed of the menu, accommodating and attentive! Today she came with a refill without me having to ask and also hooked us up with the regular marinara in case we weren't satisfied with the Fra Diavolo sauce we picked (which we LOVED!) Liz always has a smile on her face and takes good care of us! Ambiance- still enjoy the ambiance. Also everyone there is so friendly and acknowledging. Here's what we had: Appetizers: -Bread and butter- FRESH bread and so tasty! -Fried Calamari- with Fra Diavolo sauce (spicy Marinara) so AMAZING! The calamari was perfectly cooked and the breading is not overly thick and heavy which I particularly enjoyed! The Fra Diavolo sauce and Marinara sauce are both sooooo FRESH and TASTY!! The Fra Diavolo sauce isn't overly spicy by the way- definitely doable and spice may even be so subtle you forget it's there. It doesn't take too much away from the taste of the sauce itself. Entrees: -Farfalle Leonardo: (Bow tie-shaped pasta tossed with shrimp, portabella mushrooms and garden peas sauteed in a flame-roasted pepper creamy pink sauce.) soooo DELICIOUS from first bite to finish! I thoroughly enjoyed the sauce and accompanied with the mushrooms and red pepper it had really nice flavor. The pasta was cooked perfectly. Only comment is shrimp was a bit tougher than I'd like but other than that: PERFECT! -Aragosta Ravioli: (Lobster filled homemade jumbo ravioli topped with shrimp and bits of lobster meat in a light seafood pink sauce.) so AMAZING! The sauce is unique in that it has a certain layer to it that adds depth to the dish. Also the ravioli was definitely homemade and stuffed with a tender mix of lobster meat and also topped with beautiful pieces of lobster meat. Came here with some coworkers who always order pizza for staff meetings and rave about it so I had higher expectations. I was a bit disappointed but I guess it's a basic pizza place restaurant quality rather than an Italian restaurant quality. The seating area was very nice and clean and the server was friendly but the food was subpar. I ordered the artichokes franchese and prosciutto panini. The artichokes lacked any flavor at all, not even a hint of lemon. The bread for the panini was not toasted and the flavors just didn't hit. I'm not even sure what the dipping sauce was because it had no taste at all. I would give this place another shot tho and try maybe a pasta or shrimp dish. Came here for lunch for pizza. Ordered the baked ziti slice and buffalo chicken slice. Pizza was delicious, crispy, no flop, good undercarriage. All 4 of our dinners were very good, we all ordered different dishes .All very good portions . The spinach salad was very large and delicious, the apps we had were ok. The desserts were also ok .I wasn't impressed with my regular size cannoli,didn't eat most of it. My niece had the mini ones & she didn't say anything & ate it all. My friend and I went there for dinner on Thursday night and had never been there before. What a treat! They had a special Mon-Thursday night for a glass of wine for $5.00. Got the chianti and it was delicious! Ordered baked clams, shrimp francese, veal francese and the creme brulee cheese cake. OMG! Everything was fabulous and reasonable. Review update: Since finding this place, we have come very often. However our last two experiences will definitely make it our last in general. Last week we had a server that was pretty arrogant but in a nice way if that makes sense. She was not attentive and seemed annoyed when we didn't order that much food (which I didn't know one meal per person wasn't a lot of food what do you want us to eat the whole restaurant). Then a few nights ago, our experience made it definite it was our last. The food was great the first few times and last night as well as the week before the food wasn't that great. We took Pizza to go one evening as well and the pizza was so soggy and oily. And I was very annoyed by who I believe was the owner who gave us a hard time with seating arrangements with my baby. Very nice on the inside, clean and organized. Bathrooms were also clean menu options were plentiful. There's a bar and a separate pizzeria within the restaurant. Definitely recommend. This place is top notch. I literally found it on accident when I went to go get Starbucks. I'm a pasta lover, so what intrigued me was their pasta night sign for Monday's and Tuesday's and it's literally for 16.99 for a pasta entree, house or ceased salad, mini cannoli and coffee or tea. I ordered baked clams as well and cocoanut shrimp and WOW!! The portions are HUGE AND SO YUMMY made fresh you can taste it!!! They offer free bread with butter while you wait and it is delicious. They have so many Italian dishes I never even knew of, I promised myself I will try every single thing in that menu. Super affordable too! Best Italian restaurant is Commack because they got my favorite soda Diet Dr. Pepper which is hard to find in most restaurants, even most diners! They have there own pasta dishes as well as what you see in every Italian restaurant. They have a few non Italian food to, like French fries and Potato soup! The pizza was good, and the people who work there are nice. Why the one star review? They are violating New York State law by charging you a 3.5 percent surcharge by using your credit or debit card. A law was recently signed where they either have to display both prices or display the higher credit price and give discount for cash. The person behind the counter told me my total was 11 dollars but charged me $11.85. I have reported this business for violating state law. My order was the chicken parm dinner to go and I paid 32.00 for a meal that does not live up to the expectation. I do not recommend getting pasta from here.
