Their drinks really brought me in to try this place! I ordered their signature Butterfly Pea Flower iced tea latte and it was so pretty! The drink is a bit on the sweeter side and cost around $6 which is pricey but there's a reason why people keep coming back! I am not a huge coffee person so I really appreciate the fact that they had a good selection of tea based drinks. Good local coffee shop in the Duluth area. I went in the morning to get coffee and focus on some work. The cappuccino was pretty good (you can select your preferred roast, and the barista was knowledgable explaining the different roasts). I ordered a red velvet cake that was OK. The manager noticed and provided a different slice (carrot cake) saying that the red velvet one wasn't up to their standards. This is great customer service. The decor is also cool. I've been wanting to try Cafe Blue after stumbling across it looking for cafes in Duluth. The instagramable looking drinks caught my attention. We finally got to check it out and the cafe is so much more than just pretty drinks. It is also a roastery for Jamaican coffee. Their drinks did not disappoint. We ordered the Cafe Blue Signature which is an iced americano and the Iced Butterfly Pea Flower which was so refreshing and tasted like an orange creamsicle. They also have an assortment of baked goods, sandwiches, breads, and gifts for purchase. I can't wait to come back and try some of their other drinks! Definitely give Cafe Blue a visit! read more

I visited this coffee shop as there was a lack of local shops in the immediate area (at least open on the weekends.) The space was cozy. It was not the most brightly lit of an area, but a nice space to sit down and gave a cup of coffee. Staff all had masks and required patrons to enter with masks. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable in the coffee products they were providing. The menu contained non coffee items as well, mostly tea. The only disappointing part was the fact that a few of their products are not made with a dairy alternative. They do, however, provide non dairy creamers for the standard coffee. The staff efficiently made all the coffee products in the photos with little time. The presentation of the coffee was stunning. Perfect size, right amount of cream, and they did not go too crazy with the ice. The flavors were fantastic. The cold brew did not have a lingering bitter taste, and it was very smooth. The pistachio cold brew did not have an artificial flavor, nor was it overly sweet. The Einspanner was the same way, and had a subtle chocolate aftertaste, with a creamy texture. I would recommend this place for a nice morning to have a cup of coffee or tea with a friend! read more

I have now been to cafe blue 10 different times and I think they deserve a review. Their drinks are delicious. My personal favorite is the Chai with almond milk, every time it is perfect. This is a fantastic place to work with great Wi-Fi and amazing outlet access to plug in any dying device. It was super packed and busy when we visited this location. The service was quick and the menu was descriptive enough that there wasn't a need to ask many questions about the menu. Café Blue has been on my list to try for some time, but with COVID and all the restriction that go with it, my wife and I were always hesitant in going out. But, the first place we went and needed to go to was Café Blue...and it did not disappoint! What a place! Yes Yes Yes, like everyone has said before, it definitely makes you want to sing the song, "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65 (clearly dating myself) but what a neat feature to have in a coffee! I've never had such a thing so definitely a must try. I wish the location was in a more convenient spot (only knock) but hopefully the business does well and can open up another location or perhaps move this to a better spot with more parking and such?! Nonetheless, upon walking in I love the space of the café as it wasn't claustrophobic, plenty of seating, and very clean. It wasn't busy aesthetically and I love that...very pleasing to the eye and classy. Our service was great as they have a slew of great drinks so I'd recommend having somewhat of an idea of what you want (if not that's okay) but the pretty pictures will help you narrow it down! Of course, ask the great ladies behind the counter and they can guide you on what to get based on your preferences as they were truly a great help when I picked my drink. To the drinks.....my wife chose the "Strawberry Cream Matcha" and loved it! I tried a few sips and you can really taste the matcha along with the strawberry twist to it and it was really good. I went with the classic "Ice Blue Latte" as I wanted to the blue feels! Like I said, it did not disappoint and upon hitting my lips...you could tell the coffee, beans and more were totally different than your Dunkin/Starbucks. Café Blue serves 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee and what a tasty sip...super rich, fine, and makes you want more. If only all coffee were this good. I wish I could've back after my initial coffee was done, but I'll have to make this a place I come to often as it keeps you wanting more... DRINKS = SUPERB! So their updated food menu is a lot different than what I've seen on here. But I did order the chicken salad and it was very delicious. A great amount of everything. My little one had their cinnamon chocolate bread and she killed it faster than I did my sandwich. I love a good earl grey latte, unfortunately this wasn't as great. Didn't taste too much of the earl grey, the expression did over power it. And I asked for extra sweet but she must have misunderstood and gave me less sweet. My little one had a chelate latte something (I forgot) but basically chocolate milk, iced. And she seams to enjoy it. Took a sip of it and it was pretty good! One of my fav coffee shops in the Duluth area! Definitely a must try. The interior feels very warm and cozy - which is perfect for lounging, studying, reading, etc! I got their strawberry matcha, and as a not huge matcha fan, it suited my taste! There is a self-service kiosk to order foods and drinks which is quite convenient - especially when the baristas are busy getting out other orders - but I honestly prefer the old-style way, and have never had to wait a terribly long time. There is a good amount of seats, but with the number of students and workers that come here to work, the seats are taken quickly and tend not to be available for some time, so maybe better off getting drinks to go! I myself have gone here to knock out work during finals week and it was an optimal study environment for me. There's also free wifi and power outlet plugs which are super nice!! Overall, a 10/10 experience. I've also recommended this place to some of my friends and they also have told me they like it! read more

The decor is beautiful: exposed brick, dark gray walls and ceiling, accented by a long blue bench with studded black leather cushions. The leather chairs are really comfy. This cafe is so freaking cute. Seriously, I really wish it was closer to me because I could see myself going there almost every day. The location is not the best, (Boggs Road, literally right across from QT), but it's not terrible. When you walk in, you'll walk past greens plants and will see lots of old-school/science-y coffee tools and equipment. They serve blue beans from Jamaica at different roasts levels that you can pick, depending on your preference of bitterness. I decided to go simple with cold brew and I really enjoyed the taste of the coffee. Towards the back, you can check out their beautiful, large copper roaster. My friend got the Tun sandwich with tomato and avocado. it was her first time trying tomato and avocado and Cafe Blue made this experience so much better for her. The coffee was good, but I didn't care for the higher price for such a small drink or the fact that I couldn't order it iced. The cashier was lightly rude when I asked about getting the coffee I ordered iced. I had never been there before, so I didn't know that every drink could not be ordered iced or hot like most places. He also just kind of had a weird attitude in general. He gets four stars. The guy who made my drink was really nice and you could tell he put a lot of care into the making of the drink. He looked like he was enjoying himself which is nice to see. He gets five stars. Overall, it was fine, but I prefer to give my money to places that let me order things as I like them. I don't mind paying a higher price when I can customize things or for higher quality, but this just isn't that place for me.
