Skirt Steak Chimichurri
Grace S.

Guys, I cannot stress this enough. I only went here because I saw a girl on social media. Say that she had the best steak ever here at Nordstrom. So naturally, I had to try it out and she wasn't lying and that's all I'll say. Plus, it looks like they make the meatballs by hand.

Crab, Mango and Avocado Salad

I had such an excellence experience here. I usually do a ton of shopping at Nordstrom and surprisingly had not eaten at their Cafe Bistro before. The space was very open and clean with plenty of booths and individual tables. They also have WiFi and I was able to take a Zoom meeting while enjoying my delicious meal. I went in thinking I was just going to order a Caesar salad to keep it safe but I'm glad I didn't. I ended up getting their soup of the day (which was a creamy turkey soup--I can't remember the exact name) and the Crab, Avocado, and Mango salad. They were VERY generous with the amount of crab, the avocado was perfectly ripe, and the mango salsa along with the vinaigrette tied it perfectly together. Seriously...no need to go to Yardhouse or Brio at the Spectrum. You can definitely get your fix for much cheaper here. I think I'll put this in my routine--shop at Nordstrom followed by eating at their bistro. Will definitely be back!

Portobello mushroom ravioli $20

Everyone from the gal that took our order at the front counter, to Florentino our server, was super pleasant and attentive throughout our meal. We came in around noon on a Friday, party of 4. We placed our order at the counter, and then were told we could sit anywhere we pleased, It was moderately busy, and fairly quiet. Our table ordered the prosciutto pizza, salmon Niçoise salad, crab mango & avocado salad, portabella mushroom ravioli, prosciutto and arugula salad, white chocolate bread pudding, Creme brûlée, and vanilla bean ice cream. All of the food was delicious, brought out promptly, and they checked in on us throughout the meal to ensure there was nothing more we needed. Once you've completed your meal is when they bring you a desert menu, if you opt for desert they will bring a separate bill for those items. Best place to park is the top of the parking structure that will lead you right into the second floor of Nordstrom and directly into cafe bistro! Also, not to be confused with their actual ebar that is located on the first floor and faces out of their storefront, this is where you can grab coffee, smoothies, pastries and grab and go items. Next time you're at spectrum, don't forget to add Nordstrom cafe bistro as a potential dining option!

Artichoke dip

After a long day of Christmas shopping, we were famished. As our last stop was Nordstrom, we found it convenient to pop in here for a bite. I ordered the French onion soup and garlic focaccia. My daughter ordered the artichoke dip. The food was fabulous, as was our charming server, Wilson. We were able to sit down right away and rest our weary bones. This is lovely and warm and wholesome. Highly recommend!

Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich

We just dined here today and did not have a pleasant experience. My sister ordered a chicken sandwich with no cheese because she dairy free. Well when the sandwich came out it had cheese on it. No big deal we just asked it to be remade....30 minutes later our server came back saying the chef made the sandwich with cheese again & had to start over....waited again and this is what my sandwich looked like. The chicken was TINY. Like a chicken nugget. After the 3rd time remaking the sandwich you'd think it'd be right. They didn't even offer to comp the meal, we had to ask. Very poor service and I'm disappointed because we live Nordstrom cafe.

Crab Crab, Mango and Avocado Salad

My office used to be in the irvine spectrum, therefore I tried almost every restaurant there a few times. This place was among my fave 3 restaurants. They have a great variety of soups and salads (healthy, fresh, and delicious) and you can choose from their diverse proteins to add-on. I am a little disappointed of the prices increase but assume thats happening everywhere. Their steak (add-on) and crab salad are my favorites but you can never go wrong with any items on their menu. The service was always great and its a nice place to have a conversation with a friend or colleague. Note: these pictures are from various visits

The chicken pepperoni pizza was very fresh, savory, chewy, flavorful, and delicious. Also, the strawberry lemonade was super sweet, refreshing, and perfectly served, good service, nice atmosphere with upbeat music, and I had an excellent experience here today.

Terrible processed cookie

This dining experience at the Irvine location was not up to par compared to other Nordstrom locations in the LA area. The service was lacking in several areas. We had to ask for straws for our children's drinks. We had to ask for utensils and napkins to eat. We were served spaghetti noodles with only one spoon. We had to ask for cream for the very bitter black coffee. When ordering, we were told the soup came with bread on the side -- I had to request this after the soup was delivered without any bread. The bread I was given was as hard as a rock. The chicken fingers were also very hard and dry and my kid could barely chew them. Additionally, we bought 2 Royale cookies to go. They were given to me wrapped in Saran Wrap with 'Monday' on the sticker. Since it was the following Saturday after the Monday (6 days after the sticker date), the cookies were stale and also as hard as a rock! The whole experience was a shock to have at a Nordstrom. We will never eat at this cafe's location again.

Disgusting hard garlic toast. Almost broke my tooth!
Ellie Q.

Came in on a Wednesday before Christmas at 6pm (closing at 7). I was disappointed. I'm a regular and know the quality of food and service here. It's usually close to perfection. The menu is amazing and the food is consistently good. But not tonight. Soup was cold. The order came out all random. For example the salad and Brussel Sprouts came after my pasta. But the worst was the dry service and hard as heck garlic toast that I almost broke my teeth on! So awful! Why would you even serve that?! Just say you ran out. That toast is legendary. I've been enjoying it for years. How dare they serve such a disgusting thing to Nordstrom customers. That cook needs to be out of the kitchen if he can't produce edible bread. The server lady was kind. But everyone else was clearly done working way before we arrived.

I updated my review to include new Kids Cafe menu prices as of August 2024 that shows a slight increase.

I know Blk Dot Coffee has been around for a while now and that there have been places like them in…read morethe Bay Area (with more opening up), but I still can't believe how Vietnamese coffee is only now becoming more mainstream. Between how coffee obsessed and sleep deprived we all are an how much caffeine packs, it always seemed like a no-brainer that it would catch on, not to mention the fact that it just tastes so good. As belated as it may be, though, I'm just glad that it's become easier than ever for me to get my Vietnamese coffee fix! At any given time, especially on the weekends, it seems like the line for Blk Dot Coffee will reach the door (or even stretch outside), but it's partly due to how popular this place is. Inside, this place is pretty small with just enough room for a small line to order, a display with merch and apparel, and some space for folks to wait for their drinks. Yet, despite its small stature, the menu has an and fairly extensive selection of offerings, from their Vietnamese coffee-based drinks to a mix of tea/matcha and fruit-based options. They also have a decent array of small bites as well, like bagels, toasts, breakfast bowls, and sandwiches, but we've never been hungry enough to try anything. -- VTM EINSPANNER - Vietnamese Coffee Latte, Sweet Foam Top, Cocoa Powder This was so, so good! Not only did it have a nice punch of caffeine to it, but I liked how the bit of sweet foam and coca powder added a touch of creaminess and richness. Plus, wasn't quite as sweet as I feared it would be (though, still sweet as a whole). -- MANGO DELIGHT GREEN TEA - Green Tea, Mango Jam, Chia Seeds, Crystal Boba A bit on the sweet side, but not bad otherwise. While this felt a little syrupy, I did like taste of the green tea and the mango jam. The chia seeds and boba were fine, but I would've been fine without them, too. -- UJI MATCHA EINSPANNER - Uji Culinary Grade Matcha Latte, Cane Syrup, Sweet Foam Top, Cocoa Powder Sadly, now as impressive as the VTM Einspanner, but still not bad. The sweet foam added the same creaminess to this one, but, in this case, there was too much of it, as it really took away from the taste of the matcha itself. -- YUZU MANGO MATCHA LATTE - Uji Culinary Grade Matcha Latte Infused with Yuzu Jam and Mango Cream It's a shame that this seems to be a seasonal drink because it tasted so good! It also helped that the weather was so warm when we had this, but I really liked how well the match, yuzu jam, and mango cream all complemented each other. Delicious! -- ORIGINAL ICED VTM - Signature Slow-Drip Vietnamese Coffee with Blend of House Creamers Not sure what their creamer "blend" consists of (just tasted like regular condensed milk), but this was terrific! Although the first sip was strong and quite sweet, the flavors became a lot more balanced once the ice started to melt. As far as service goes, the workers at the register have always been really friendly, but, for better or worse, nothing else has really stood out (the interactions have always been brief). However, what definitely has stood out are the baristas making the drinks. Watching from the side, it's impressive seeing the sort of organized chaos that was going on - a constant flow of cups/drinks waiting to be made, bottles of milk, syrups, and ingredients that go into all of their different concoctions strewn about, and workers humming along grabbing supplies, making drinks, and calling out orders. If there was one knock about my experiences at Blk Dot Coffee, it'd be that it can take a little while for orders to come out when they're really busy. While it wasn't so bad the first couple of times we were here, it took about 15 mins the third time. With that being said, it's not like the same thing can't happen at a Starbucks on the way to work or at some milk tea joints. Personally, for something as unique and delicious as Blk Dot Coffee's VTM Einspanner, I'm more than happy to wait!

Drinks: We ordered the Original VTM hoping for a strong Vietnamese coffee, but unfortunately, it was way too sweet for us. The flavor also tasted pretty different from the more traditional Vietnamese coffee I'm used to. We ended up adding some water just to make the sweetness more manageable. We were told that sweetness adjustments aren't available for the Original VTM, only the Light VTM, but we specifically wanted the stronger coffee option. Definitely something to keep in mind depending on your sweetness preference. Service: The staff was kind, and ordering was quick with no wait. If you're at Irvine Spectrum and need a quick coffee, it's a convenient option. The Original VTM just wasn't for me, and I probably wouldn't come back for it.

Inside was decorated really nice, the ambiance was cute and everything was very clean. The service was great, we were unsure on the drink so the cashier made a good recommendation. The pesto chicken sando is what we came for and I was not a total fan of it. I think I was expecting more of a burst of flavor, but it truly tasted how it sounds - chicken with pesto and arugula. The star of the sandwich was the marinated tomatoes, these were fantastic, I wish there were more tomatoes and slightly less chicken to get a more even ratio going. For the price point, I wouldn't get this again. All in all, the sandwich wasn't bad, it was just as expected. Will have to check out the egg salad sando and the beef sando next time, they looked great! The prime beef curry bread was delicious, very tender chunks of beef and the curry had a slight spice. Really good panko crusted bread. Would get this again! The honey toast was great as well, it tasted almost like a custard on top. Had a nice crust and fluffy interior. The Goma matcha latte was not my favorite, it was very Goma forward and I couldn't really taste the matcha. Additionally, it was a little clumpy so when you would sip it you would get a clump of Goma. If I came back, I would likely stick to the pastries as they were standard priced and pretty big for that price. The sandos, I may or may not try again, they were all around $16+ and were stuffed, but still on the small size. I am glad I tried it!

This is kind of funny…read more After work, I was searching for a coffee shop nearby like I usually do, but nothing really caught my attention. So I decided to search outside the area where I live, and that's how I ended up finding this place. The funny part is that I had actually been wanting to visit this coffee shop because I saw their "Fun Flight" menu and thought it looked so interesting. I kept telling myself that I had to come try it someday. But when I searched this time, I was actually looking for a real coffee roaster and ended up here without even realizing it was the same place. Parking was easy and there were plenty of spaces. There are also other shops around, so I don't think parking would be much of an issue. The coffee shop itself was clean, bright, and nice and cool inside. I noticed one of the employees carefully cleaning the glass, and they kept wiping down empty tables and windows throughout the time I was there. Honestly, I've rarely seen someone cleaning so consistently at a coffee shop, and I really appreciated it. It made me feel like they genuinely care about cleanliness. Since it was already afternoon, I wanted something decaf, so I asked if they roast their own decaf coffee. They told me that they roast everything themselves, which immediately gave me more confidence in the coffee. I ordered a flat white and sat down, but then I realized I had completely forgotten to say "iced." Sure enough, I saw the employee making a hot drink. Well... that's totally on me! Soon my coffee came out with a beautiful latte art on top. And then I took my first sip... Oh my goodness. This is GOOD coffee! There was a slight acidity at first, but as I kept drinking, the acidity faded and I was left with a smooth, nutty, creamy latte flavor. I personally prefer medium roasts over dark roasts, and this roast was exactly my kind of coffee. Now I'm suddenly very curious about their matcha, too. I also liked that the overall pricing wasn't too expensive. The Wi-Fi did seem a little slow at times, but it wasn't slow enough to really bother me. And now I'm still sitting here debating whether I should order the matcha latte... The coffee was definitely delicious, and I already know I'll be coming back. Next time, I'm absolutely getting the Fun Flight so I can try several different coffees! Great coffee, clean space, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Definitely worth another visit!

There are 3 indoor tables, 3 outdoor tables, and a long counter where customers can stand. I ordered one of their special signature drinks, an iced mint cold brew. A look into their pastry case led me to also request a raspberry danish. The single person behind the counter who was taking orders and working as barista was not exactly charming but it was understandable as she was slammed with multiple customers right when I arrived. My order was presented within a couple minutes (she was great at multitasking!) and I sat out on the patio. The iced mint cold brew was refreshing and was like drinking a box of Campfire Girl mints, both chocolatey and minty (sidebar: I am so sad that, as of last year, those mints are no longer made). It essentially was a mocha made with coconut milk and mint syrup; I really liked it. The pastry was rather dry but the raspberry filling was vibrant in flavor and not overly sweet. The vibe is more of a place for hotel guests to have a business meeting or to grab something prior to dashing off to a corporate event rather than just a place to hang out. But it's also a great option if you are near the Irvine Spectrum and just want to stop to quickly get a coffee drink and sit for a short break.
