So much for my excellent review from four years ago. Not only did they get my order incorrect, but I was given a credit for the mistake and the tip amount was not reversed based on the incorrect amount so they managed to keep the larger tip and still gave me my food without the requested pico de gallo that I asked for. This was a to go order. I always make a point of leaving a tip, but this is an example had I not left a tip, I would've questioned whether or not they purposely gave me terrible service because I didn't leave a tip. Clearly there is no correlation to being lazy and having poor customer service. I didn't come at a busy time and there wasn't any reason I should've received this kind of service from any Wahoo's. Total let down. The manager who corrected the bill was sitting in the corner eating. I felt like going over there and telling her but I think maybe if they see this want to do something about it, they'll issue me a full credit if they want me to come back. Ordering was frustrating - the menu was confusing as you could not order any tacos you wanted in any of their taco plates. Very strange. They have hard shell tacos listed and pictured on multiple things on their menu, but manager insists they don't sell hard shell tacos. Lol They got our order wrong because the person taking our order, English was not her first language which is fine but I kept having to repeat myself and so she missed multiple items on my order. My fault for not asking for a receipt to double check. But at $44 for two 2-taco platters with beans and rice I assumed they hadn't missed the other two items. The food - wahoos FISH tacos in the name of the place, so I would expect really good fish, or fried fish. It was dry, hard and flavorless. We order the fried fish taco, the grilled fish taco, and the fried fish spicy sandwich. The grilled fish was so dry and hard that I actually thought it was chicken until I tasted it. Lol! The fries were overcooked (that's fine, had low expectations for the fries) the carnitas was average at best. The chips and salsa we received before the meal was also average, like store bought chips slightly heated up. Ambiance was clean and fine. Nothing special. read more

Staff: The team here was nice but Luis was really great. He was the one who brought us our food. Luis asked if we needed anything and about where the salsa was. He was genuinely interested in our happiness which was so appreciated. Quality: The food was good. Street tacos were tasty with the green salsa being pretty spicy. Shrimp bonsai bowl was tasty. Kids carne asada bowl was okay not too much flavor. Value: Pricing is fair. Overall: We have been here a few times and always been happy. Very impressed by the large variety of selections available in the menu. We've had tacos here before, but what we really enjoyed the last couple times was the salads. Plenty of vegan choices and the salad was a good size with lots of choices. We had the fried fish, but also the grilled fish and the tofu. Seating is okay, the place has its own personality, resembling a small beachside shop. It was not busy when we visited during a weekday lunch time. Staff and service were good, everyone seemed to care about the customers, something that is missing at most shops these days. I used to think Wahoo's was my second choice for fish tacos after Rubio's but my recent trip might have switched that up. I ordered my favorite SoCal food item, Baja style fish tacos. I switched up the usual rice and beans on the plate with the spicy white beans and slaw. Highly recommend the white beans over the black beans. They have a bit more flavor and softer, creamier texture. The slaw is very fresh - felt and tasted like they cut the fresh that day and was dressed lightly in a fancy lime dressing. It's not heavy or mayonnaisey like slaw from the grocery store or KFC. The fish taco is also dressed with the slaw, providing a nice bright crunch to the taco. One taco with the sides made me quite full, but I am sure most people will prefer to fill up on the two taco plate. They have a variety of salsas to choose from along with pickled jalapenos. The food was nicely seasoned and didn't really need more salsa but any of the salsas are good and you can't go wrong. The spiciest is not that spicy so you can doctor that up with other hot sauces and jalapenos to your liking. They built a nice small bar at the back since I last came and offered a good selection of beers and cocktails at reasonable prices. I ordered the Bitter Orange and asked for no agave, which they accommodated kindly. The drink was beautiful and strong. At $9.50, this was a steal of a deal for such a quality cocktail. I would love to come back to try some other drinks. They have a variety of flavored margaritas, Mai tais, and a full bar so you could probably order custom drinks too. The menu looks to have expanded to include fried fish sandwiches, street tacos, churro bites and more. First time at this location. Was grabbing lunch on our way home from SD. The ladies who took my order and served us our food was really nice. This place is clean. It must have been last year since I was at Wahoo's but the menu looked a bit different. I normally get the skinny bowl or outter reef burrito but I didn't see the skinny bowl but saw a Wahoo's bowl instead my husband and I both got one with asada and crispy fish. I loved that they had all the condiments out/ self serve. We don't have that option at our local Wahoo's. Everything was delicious as always, the carne asada was tender the crunchy fish was crunchy tasted like a fish o'filet. What we ordered: 1) Mr. Lee's Scream'n Chicken Burrito - Mr. Lee's chili sauce was absolutely flavorful! Apparently it's suppose to be "spicy," but I didn't think it was spicy at all. The added bonus is that they have a full bar so you can grab a real drink if you need one after spending all your money shopping. It's a large corner spot close to the center of the complex so it's easily accessible. They have both indoor and outdoor seating where you can people watch. Props to whoever was at the register on 03/29/25 between 1 and 2 PM. Ordered the 1 taco plate with white rice and black beans. I opted for a shrimp taco on citrus slaw. The shrimp didn't seem too fresh but that was my mistake there ordering shrimp at a place like Wahoo's. The rice was salty and the black beans were on the sweeter side. Their salsas were all subpar. Service was spectacular, from the cashier to the busier cleaning up tables. The food, however, was not good. Prices were very affordable though. read more

I have an allergy to raw onions. When I ordered the Protein Bowl, I said no onions on anything. I was informed that the vegetables have onions pre-mixed in. Naturally I asked if I could sub something for the vegetables. I was told no-very accommodating. I then ordered the Maui Bowl only to be told there was onions in the beans. Again they said they couldn't serve it without onions. I finally talked them into double rice. There were 4 of us. 3 meals came rather quickly. Wahoo's as been around for such a long time but I just recently tried one since it's so close to my workplace. I have to say, it's a pretty high quality place. I got their 2 taco special plate for about $16. The tacos are sizable and they give you a lot of rice & beans to fill you up, along with some chips and salsa. Their green salsa is really good. The staff is really friendly, and there's a little bar area in the back too which is cool. There are plenty of tables at this location, both inside & outside. Definitely a good place to go to get your taco Tuesday fix. read more

Came to this wahoo's since it was close to where we parked and we were starving. There was no wait, so we went ahead and ordered. I ordered the salmon bowl, which is my go to food item at wahoos. It was as one would expect. The major thing that stood out at this wahoos was that it seemed to be slightly less maintained than others in the area. I'm not sure if that is due to the cost of rent, or what have you, but the overall appearance felt tired (i.e. scotch taped tracker mounts velcroed to the table just seemed weird. We ordered the 2 fish tacos place with rice and beans. You can choose how you want the fish to be cooked and the style of veggies (lettuce or cabbage). There is a salsa bar where you can get your own salsa and water cups next to the drinks dispenser. Both styles of fish tacos were good. I liked having all the salsa to mix into my rice and beans and on the tacos. Any style of fish tacos were good. Service was good. They greeted me when I arrived and looked at the menu. Lunch at Wahoo's with family in Irvine, California after having a quick Hagen Daz ice cream at the Irvine Spectrum was on the menu. I'm familiar with Wahoo's, of course. I haven't been to a Wahoo's for quite some time, especially when I've had tacos on the regular. But obviously, Taco Bell isn't on the level as Wahoo's, depending on how you look at it. Wahoo's is definitely more fresh and feels more healthier than your mainstream Taco Bell. You can taste the healthier version of tacos and other offerings here. During my time here with family at Wahoo's, I got a carne asada taco plate and a large soda. I didn't realize that the restaurant was as large as a regular restaurant. The entire experience was about 30 minutes from start to finish, and there was a plenty of tables inside the restaurant. I assume that we had to find other places to eat, but apparently not for the most part, though, it was nice to enjoy a meal with my family in Southern California. The restaurant itself was pretty clean and not really noisy. It's basically like a fast food restaurant, where you order and pay first and they'll bring it to you versus sitting down first and a server comes 5-10 minutes later to take your order. I guess it works better this way with this paradigm of ordering and paying for us and then getting your food later versus the traditional way. To be honest, I thought that the carne Asada tacos combo was pretty decent and not really as awesome as I thought it would be. But tacos or tacos and it was OK but delicious too. Just not crazy good when I thought it would be. The overall experience here at Wahoo's tacos restaurant here in the Irvine spectrum Center in Irvine, California was pretty good, typical, and average. Even though the prices were on the higher end, I didn't really see the bill since my family paid for me without me knowing. Lol. Omg this place is amazing. Everyone knows that good customer service is hard to come by but theirs is GREAT!! I had to place a large order for my office and called it in. Spoke to Priscila and she got everything right and went the extra step of writing everyone's name on their order so distribution was a breeze. When I went to pick up the order the boy at the front (not sure his name) greeted me with a big smile and had great energy. There was maybe 10 orders and the price was just around $190 which is so affordable as well and the food was fresh and yummy! 10/10 experience thanks y'all read more

Was craving fish tacos so decided to stop by Wahoo's for lunch while at the Spectrum. The line was out the door, but moved at a decent pace. Getting my food took forever. I feel like if I didn't ask twice and stand right there the second time, I would have waited even longer. Yes, they were busy, but I definitely didn't think it would take that long to get my order. If I had known, definitely would have grabbed lunch elsewhere. After waiting almost 40 minutes (yes 40!) for my order, the food ended up to be just eh. Fish taco was crispy, but on the dry side. Definitely not what I was expecting for a place known for their fish tacos! I also had some of the ceviche, which wasn't flavorful at all. Needed some freshly squeezed lime/lemon and more seasoning. At least it came with a decent amount of chopped up shrimp, though. No pictures because everyone was hangry by the time I brought the food to the table. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
