The food was good. Alot of things were not available but what they did have was good. My only draw back was that I got a bottle of water foe $5. Just a regular water bottle for $5 which is a 40pack somewhere lol. But I won't knock the hustle I guess.

Compliments to the chef! Delicious!! A hidden gym. I'll be back

The Service was excellent, even with the short wait. The food is flavorful delicious! I recommend anyone to try!

I really enjoyed my experience of getting delicious Nigerian food to go at Abuja Cafe! I came here on the good word of a friend and was not disappointed at all! I'd like to mention that it is bright and so clean on the inside! Very inviting! The young lady and the gentleman 1/25/22 were very pleasant and patient! I ordered my favorite jollof rice with plantains. It came with two pieces of meat so I got dry fried chicken, which means without red stew. I don't care for stew on my meat. It comes with a container of smoky and spicy greens- the most delicious that I've had in Houston. I also ordered a side order of plantains which came with a whole lot and was too much for me but that's definitely not a complaint! I share! I will say that the jollof was delicious! It just needed to be a little hotter in spice and I'm used to Nigerian fried chicken being much drier, and well, a little more tough. I know it doesn't make sense to the usual fried chicken connoisseur but I'm used to a delicious fight with my Nigerian fried chicken. Oh well, it was very tasty though! They have meat pies and scotch eggs. Neither of which I like but they are well liked among others and I would encourage other diners to enjoy. They have water, juices, soft drinks, and beer galore. I was impressed with their assortment of beverages. I shall return to this lovely restaurant!

My family and I were awfully disappointed with how this establishment has went down the drain food was poorly cooked, either had too much tumeric and was sprinkled with more tumeric when served. The total price was $80 which is expensive when you could wrestle with one bite of the meat, and choke through each bite of fried rice and dried meat that almost had the same texture as burnt leather. Sad, but the customer service wasn't up to par either. It took me a while to write this review because it was heartbreaking that this is a family -business.

I visited this restaurant and was given OLD STALE HARD beef. When I called, after not being able to eat it, the person on the phone told me I would receive a new order on my next visit. A week later I returned for a new order and was charged $44 dollars for what would likely be the same old stale beef! The supervisor proceeded to argue that they do not give out old food, then proceeded to contradict that lie with the truth of WHEN THEY DO THIS AND GET COMPLAINTS they just give more beef as if DOUBLE STALE MEAT is desirable. For 2 pieces of meat they give with a 19 dollar plate of instant rice, I will NOT be returning to this establishment. Rude, unprofessional and poor quality food now! Definitely not how it was when they opened years ago! I will take my business next door to Amala.

Plantain side. Good temp and tasty, ripe plantain.

Okra with chicken. Really nothing to write home about. If you zoom in, the eba was not pounded to smooth. That or we got the bottom of the pot. I was really turned off by it. On a good note, the chicken was seasoned well. Egusi with assorted and pounded yam. Yam was better pounded. Shaki was too tough to eat. I was not pleased and may never order here again. The order was also delivered more than an hour after the promised time.

We are an Indian family and had Egusi with pounded yam at cafe Abuja a few weeks ago and it was the first time we tried Nigerian food. We LOVED the place, the people (customer service) and of course, the food. Made and served with so much love. The ambience of the place is homely yet very modern. Now, whenever we make chicken or beef curry at home, we make sure to take carry out of pounded yam. We have incorporated pounded yam into our Indian cuisine that we typically eat at home and Man it's delicious. Thank you cafe Abuja for all your delicious food served with so much love. We will be back soon to try other dishes.

Fire!!!!! Omg this place DOES NOT MISS. Start off with the suya and Jollof and that is where you will stop because they give you so much and since it's all delicious you end up eating every bite and boom , your full. My hubby and I got the Nkwobi and chicken pie and rice/ stew. Omgggggggg too good.

My go to order (I don't eat meat) but this gets me right EVERYTIME!

Great customer service, this restaurant is one of the first African RR that I went to and didn't receive major attitude while ordering my food & for that reason alone it became my go to spot. I love their stew it's not overly spicy but has a nice balance. Now I WILL say that some days their food is better than the others and I realized almost everytime I don't like my food there was a woman with a bad attitude at the front (I don't think it's the owner cus Bosses move a certain way) but energy is truly infectious. I never ever used to get the bad reviews on yelp but the other day I picked up my food and everything in my order was just off an older woman was at the front just evil eyeing me, I almost wanted to leave my food but I had already paid. when I first walked in she barely even greeted me but was quick to ask for a tip while I paid for my food. Here's the Tip. To the lady with the excessive skin tags, please just stay in the back and Heal or something cus my Stew on this day was BITTER lmfao I almost couldn't believe my eyes and taste buds , I even was recording a Vlog but I was too dissatisfied . So I decided let me leave a review cus when you're on the rise to success the ppl around you will tear your business down. Please keep the happy sweet younger staff in the front, I came to eat food. not attitude. The day I came & had the weird experience was 5/3 (Tuesday) and I had just came there and had an amazing order and delicious food FRIDAY 4/29 so when I went back days later and it was totally different I was like oh nah let me do a review cus I already know the real reason. It's the Vibe, Energy cannot be destroyed it can only be transferred. Keep the happy staff at the front please.

The food was pretty good but the portions are terribly small. We ordered a goat soup and it was very little soup and meat. Smh the jollof, egusi, and beef stew was good. The stew should've had more stew to it though.

This was my first time trying Nigerian food and it was a great experience. They have a nice size menu and great staff. The restaurant is clean and they are doing a good job at social distancing. I had the okra, goat, and pounded yam. Because it was my first time trying Nigerian food I can't really judge it or compare it but I can say I wish it had more flavor to it. It seemed to have lacked in spices. I will try Nigerian food again but maybe something more spicy or a soup.

They always have a sample of the Golden Bowl for anyone to taste & it's absolutely my go to dish. All the ingredients work well together in this Golden Bowl. The chicken, jollof rice, veggies, the sweet of the plantain with the spice in the curry makes for a delightfully seasoned bowl. I will admit the spice made my nose run but yet I would only describe it as a "subtle" spicy dish. One day I'll try another dish but for now. That golden bowl speaks to me everytime. I had leftovers & even the next day my taste buds got happy all over again! Never had Nigerian West African food or had it somewhere else, try it here, it's delightful!! From the minute I walked in, I knew that the odds would most likely be in my favor. First of all there are two huge portraits of the female proprietess and her husband flanking the cash register, in full Asante regalia. Which totally made me feel like I was in someone's living room looking at their mantle, versus at a restaurant. But it added a touch of culture and a huge sense of pride. There was a older man waiting for food, staring at the big screen tv, DANCING to the music. This is a great sign! Do you know how good this food is about to be, because I do, if it makes Papa DANCE!!! Oh yeah, I was getting excited. There was a fridge stocked FULL TO THE BRIM and spilling over onto the floor of every soda, both American and African, plus several types of beer. To me this read as "yup, you gone be thirsty after this FIYAHHHHHH"! And they weren't wrong! My food came out piping hot, relatively quickly, and paired with warm water for hand washing! Not every African restaurant is this traditional, so I again, knew it was about to go down!!!!! I would get into a lengthy description of the groundnut soup but that would waste more of your time reading, instead of driving, STRAIGHT TO Afrikiko!!! I will say that the side of spinach that I requested was so smooth and tomatoey and robust with flavor, that I was thoroughly surprised. I was expecting just a side of sautéed spinach, maybe a bit of onion or garlic, but that damn spinach was soooooo good I almost licked the bowl. If I could give 10 stars I would! This place will make me drive from Dallas yall! And you should too! Worth every single penny I spent! Thanks Afrikiko!
